Our main reason to shop at this location was to purchase food for a local food bank/ministry. We were visiting Joshua Tree National Park for a few days and decided before we left that we wanted to do something for the community. Two wonderful employees, Jeri, Asst. I was desperate for a wheeled garbage can for my house in JT so I trudged to YV, Walmart, and the lower portion of their store was not open so I had to enter thru their main entrance, then walk 2 miles round trip to get the garbage bucket I needed. I'm 71 so it ain't easy but I really needed that trash can. I hoisted it to the only ONE out of TWENTY checkouts that were actually opened. Then it wasn't ...so I schleped it to the "self-checkout", swiped my card and walked out. They chased after me telling me I didn't do it right. But here's the kicker. I'm not a FT Walmart employee. I don't have a pension; I don't have bennies; I haven't been Walmart trained, I don't have vacation time. So...they kicked me out. I am 71...needing that trash can, willing to pay full price, and they kicked me out! LITERALLY...2 miles to get it. I never got that trash can! LAST TIME I EVER SHOP AT THE F'ing WALTON'S Mega Billionaire BS STORES ever again!! WALMART SUCKS!!! The managers at this location are morons. Obviously they have no education. They told me that my product has to be the same picture on my coupon. Aren't we adults. The fine print says off any. Why does the manufacturer even bother to put a description if morons just looks at the picture and if it doesn't match they won't take it. We are not in pre school people. We don't need to look at pictures anymore. Didn't they teach people to read in elementary school, junior high school and high school. I ordered a tire. I had to wait for it to be delivered the next day. I got a call and arrived in the store an hour later. I dropped off my car thank god, because it was not finished for 3 hours. The customer service at this Walmart has gone to shit, especially in the electronic department. Rude employees and then when you tell them that you've gotten your SIM card cut here and they say that it's not possible because they don't have a cutter and this asshole looks at you like you're lying. I bought my phone here and the SIM card from my previous phone didn't fit so you cut it. Don't look at me like I'm crazy. And last night I'm cashing out and the employee cashing me out couldn't wait until the customers that were still finishing up getting their things together to move and he slides/throws my item at me instead of handing it to me like I handed my item to him and he expects me to pay when the previous customer was still standing in the way. They're was no other people waiting, absolutely no rush at all. If it wasn't for the fact that it's the only Walmart near by I wouldn't come to this store anymore. I'm not one to spew negativity to harm other businesses, but this is BS! I don't shop there often, but I went in there last night. Without any advanced warning to allow their customers to prepare and bring their own reusable bags, Walmart hopped on the $0.10/bag gravy train the night after the elections (as one of their employees informed me). I'm all for banning 1x use shopping bags; hell, I even voted for it. But to provide no advanced notice, they are completely taking advantage of unprepared customers! Walmart knows that a fair portion of their customers in YV come by foot/bike/bus, which means they will be forced to pay the money to carry their items away in a bag. Last night I refused to pay for any bags for my items in a completely filled cart. I already have my own collection of reusable bags out in my car. So I placed my purchased items back into the cart, and when I got to my car I bagged them in my own reusable bags. If there was ANY notice or advanced warning, I could have been prepared and had my bags with me rather than in my car. YV Walmart has just simply exploited this upcoming law to their advantage (a law that does not take effect until January 1, 2017!!!!). Even the companies down in the Coachella Valley had the decency to post 30 days notice before changing to reusable bags. Honestly, it was a minor inconvenience for me. I was annoyed, but no big deal. What angers me is the exploitation. Walmart knows who their target audience is: low income. And they are taking advantage of them and banking on the fact that these unprepared customers will be forced to succumb buying their bags, which will further increase Walmart's profit in an unscrupulous fashion. That's a real disgusting move on your part, Walmart! I mean, come on...can you ever show a shred of common decency for fellow human beings, rather than it always being about your bottom line? Not that it'll make much of a difference, but I will be expressing my disgust for their exploitative manner to both local management and corporate. read more

Speaking from the view of a Retired Big Box Executive. This Wal-Mart has a serious Out-of Stock (Empty peg hooks, Empty Shelves) condition especially in the Non-Food Departments. A condition that was prevalent at the old location as well. In my option, there is either a problem with this store's Inventory Control Procedures and/or an even larger problem with Inventory Control at the Distribution Center in the Apple Valley. Either way, Out-of-Stocks are negatively effecting the ROI and Profit per Square Foot figures for this store. Not to mention the negative effect it's having on the Customer Base. Ultimately, Top Management (District Operations Manager or District Merchandising Manager and the Local Store Manager) must quickly address this situation. read more

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. They argued with me stating they couldn't fill my pain medication even though the doctor called it in 3 hours ago because they were closing. I explained to them I drove 35 miles and needed the medication. The pharmacist was very rude and agumentive because she had to work 5 minutes past the pharmacy closing time. Never again. Customer service sucks. This store does not embrace customer service nor does it embrace Sam Walton's business ethics. A one star rating is being too generous. read more

The fitting room person, Stephanie, was extremely rude. She was talking to her friend and it took appreciate 15 minutes for my wife to get help and when she got help Stephanie slapped the closing amount number on the dressing room door and acted offended that she was inner erupted. This Walmart is a good place to go when you're out camping in Joshua Tree or whatever and it's really hot and you don't have a shade structure and you just need to be somewhere for a while and kill some time. Pretty good wrestling DVD selection and they have booze. They never seem to have any stuff that I need there, specifically hair products, ammunition, first aid, etc. And just like any other wal mart, their lines are ALWAYS long. I dread when I need something late at night and can't use the self checkout. read more

Have been going to walmart pharmacy since April 2016 about once a month for my pain meds,have yet to get them on the first time. First time they said they were out,went back an hour later and got a diff. associate no problem. Next time had to go to another person on another computer and she said my doctor's license was expired well after another 15 mins they figured that out and had to get back in line to get it. Then next time they said something was wrong had to go to the other lady and she said my ins wasn't up to date,gave her my card and she said oh there is two in the computer,go back in the other line after 20 mins to get it. That happened again the next time and I said can u delete the old ins listed in there,she said yes so back in line after 20 mins. Next time got it the first in line but the price went up by $20 so I thought the ins co raised the price. Wrong,next time in had some other bs story but the price was back where it used to be so back in to get the $20 back. Then today (I have been calling first) said they couldn't fill it for 12 days,I asked why she said u have to talk to pharmacist,she said oh we can fill it and to pick it up in 2 hours. Well I don't know if they are that stupid or are paranoid about filling opioid prescriptions. read more

They have a really good selection of groceries at this Walmart! I was able to buy a bunch of premade salads for my trips. The McDonald's in this Walmart gets pretty busy but the line moves quickly. The self checkout also has fast moving lines. read more

Don't keep the shelves stocked. This is the worst WalMart Supercenter store I have ever shopped at. I never buy meat there, it is tough. The lines are super long because they don't hire enough checkers, and it is getting worse by the month. The produce is not outstanding either. Walmart's Good Value line is anything but good. I found brown spots on the peaches when I opened the can. I would not recommend their brand. The prices are generally better than most grocery stores so I usually shop there first. You don't want to try their automobile service - it sucks!!!!! I was there with a relative once for repair on her car. After a 2 hour wait w they said their mechanics didn't know how to fix it. read more

As with many stores in the Walmart chain, the customer service at the Yucca Valley is dreadful. The sales staff is woefully ignorant of even the most basic products and lack any sort of helpfulness or professionalism. On a recent visit, an employee the works in the electronics department did not know what an HDMI cable is. Today was the last straw when I tried to pick up an order that my wife had placed. Even though I was listed, by name, on the invoice as the billing address, the Walmart.com staff would not let me pick up the package. So I came home and cancelled it online, and I am done with Walmart for good. read more

I just got back from an out of state trip. Today, I stopped in at the Yucca Walmart for the first time in a while. While traveling, I stopped at a few Walmart's. After shopping at other Walmart stores, the issues at this store were glaring. They have several types of products and whole sections of the store locked up tight light they think they are selling the Hope diamond. Prior to my trip, I bought makeup here and the lady at the cash register at the edge of that department locked my makeup in a plastic box. I took it with me while shopping and paid for everything together at the regular cash register. Today, I had to pay for my two makeup items separately before leaving the makeup section. I was told they had to stop using the boxes because people were breaking them. Then I went to the electronics section for printer ink. Nearly everything in electronics is locked in cases. The employee got my ink out and again I had to pay in that department before continuing shopping. I had stopped in toys to try to get an LOL doll as a gift but you guessed it, the dolls are locked up in a case. I had no interest in searing for an employee so the birthday girl is getting cash. It is incredibly inconvenient and getting worse. Every time I shop, it seems like something else is locked up whether it is another department or a popular item. I will be shopping down below at Target even more now. This Walmart is becoming to inconvenient to be worth it. None of the Walmart's I shopped at while traveling had this problem. read more

Being that this is the only place like this in Yucca since K-Mart left us (I still miss our K-Mart!), I shop here. There's more space in the "new" Wal-Mart since the old one went. I like it better and it still "feels" cleaner, but at the same time, there's little variety. The have some good deals on the groceries, but I prefer Stater's and Von's. They're good enough to go to, but if I want something better I go down below (Palm Springs, Cathedral City, etc). read more

This is by far the worst Walmart I have ever been to, they are constantly out things that are very basic and then they don't carry items that are very basic. The shelves looks barren and sad, and don't try to buy liquor on the weekends they will be out out of whatever brand you like. And don't even get me started on the Pharmacy! I called in my Rx on a Sunday, Monday I called to see if it was ready, and no they were out of stock! But they promised me it would be in later that day....it is now Thursday and they have told me the same thing for the last 4 days! So where the hell is it? I am no hater or anything like that, but I have had several bad experiences at this Wal-Mart and will now take my business elsewhere. Today, I shopped for over an hour, filling my cart with nearly $200.00 worth of merchandise. My final stop was the sports bra department and because my cart was very heavy, I parked it near the fitting room area and proceeded to shop for a sports bra. Within 3 minutes, I came back and my cart was gone! I asked the fitting room associate to call and request my cart be returned, I asked 5, yes 5 associates nearby what happened to my cart. None of these 5 associates gave me the time of day. Finally I found a savvy, kind associate who said she would check with go backs. She was able find about 55% of my items in go backs and the associate who snaked my cart came out to say that the swifter product was leaking on my produce. A complete LIE. My produce wasn't anywhere near the swifter product and the swifter product was not leaking. A desperate excuse for snaking my cart. I have had other problems with this Wal-Mart, mostly relating to on-line orders and damages in shipping. No one seems to give a rats ass about the consumer, the consumers dollar or customer service at this Wal-Mart! I will take my healthy business elsewhere. read more
