Horrible place. Walmart is just plain sad. They under pay their employees. They hire people who can't physically work. There is a elderly woman working there that can barely see the cashier screen and asks us to read the screen for her. We feel bad but it takes us about 10 minutes just to pay when we get on her lane. SO SLOW. There is another woman there who never greets us and looks at us with disgust. This store has many racist employees working here. We have experienced and heard people talk horribly about people of color. Walmart, please consider hiring people who actually are kind and know about customer service. Hire people who are of age and that doesn't look like you are simply taking advantage of the elderly just because you need to fill a spot. Customer service is #1! You should know that. read more

Went in for an oil change. Asked if it would be long. Was told no, there's only one vehicle ahead of you. They brought my truck in and it just sat there for 90 minutes while the only two workers in the garage screwed around with another vehicle. 90 freaking minutes! I complained and they told me they were starting on it now. NOT! twenty minutes later it was still untouched. I gave up and got my truck out of the garage and left. My back hurt! I'm 72! They even removed the outside garage bench so there's no where to sit down and wait forever! The guy who brought me my truck apologized and said they were short handed. If they were shorthanded why the heck are they still lining up half a dozen vehicles to go in there? Those people were going to be there ALL DAY. Pure greed at work. No concern for the customers whatsoever. This garage used to be staffed by very capable mechanics. The pandemic must have ended that. Now it's the absolute dregs. The pits. And there's no real alternatives unless you want to spend 50 or 60 bucks at the other ripoff artists in this town. 29 palms sucks too. read more

One of the worst places to have anything done to your car. They sold me tires that they have been having trouble with and that came from an employee. Then it takes them an hr to change oil when I was the first one in the bay. On top of that I had to go back to get the sticker and to get the oil gage reset. And at that they don't even know how to do this. I told myself not to go there and I should have listened to myself so now I will be behind all day. So if you have all the time in the world and you don't care about your car take it to this Walmart and it will be ok but if you care about your car and time avoid this place!!!!!! P.S. I am handicapped and when they were done with the car they parked it as far away as they could. read more

Horrible tire service. Rotated my tires Friday night on a 2012 Accord and noticed the sticky weights where missing. Saturday morning I arrived at Walmart's Tire Center at 07:00am to get my tires balanced. Thirty minutes later a hung over kid (that could barely keep his eyes open) was trying to tell me there was a problem. I could not understand his mumbling so the shop foremen came out and explained my lug studs on my drivers side front wheel hub were over tightened causing them to break (3 of them). I then proceeded to argue with him and letting him know that I used a Snap On torque wrench and torqued them at 80ft lbs the night before. Obviously the kid ran the impact righty tighty instead of lefty loosey. I got no where and the uneducated shop foreman told me to use ain't-seize on my lug nuts. Every vehicle I have ever owned clearly states "torque lug nuts unlubricated". What a bunch of idiots, I spent the rest of my Saturday replacing lug nuts. read more

I checked my truck in to get new tires put on, the check in time was 5:02pm. When I checked in my vehicle there were 5 mechanics and I was told that there were two vehicles before mine. At 6:30, I went to check on the status of my truck, it was the only vehicle in the garage and on the stands. There were 5 mechanics standing in a circle talking and laughing. I watched for 10 minutes before asking the front desk lady to ask them how much longer it would be. The response was "they said they are working on it". It's now 7:29pm, I am still sitting at WalMart waiting for them to get done. My truck is currently sitting with all its tires off but that's it. I was told that the guy that was working on my tires went home and the other two guys left working are busy doing an oil change on another vehicle. Two mechanics doing an oil change... It's been 2 1/2 hours and the only excuse they can give me is "the guy working on it went home at 7:00". I gave two stars for the simple fact that the lady and gentleman, Traci (?) and Kevin, working the desk were extremely understanding and were constantly going back to get the status of my truck. I popped in on opening day July 17th 2013, very impressive. So great to have a new store here that sells everything, well almost everything. Today I really needed the superstore, so let's go... err wait? Wait for what? The rude staff at the pharmacy drop off made me wait, and wait, and wait while she was on the phone. Really? So 10 mins went by, then she was very, I mean VERY short ... upshot to be told yes I can have my prescription ready in 2 hours... F**k off, i went round the corner to Avalon pharmacy and it took them two mins. I did address a few things with the duty store manager - Bernardo, who was helpful and promised to get things put right including the Vision department not being able to test eyes. Why is that? They (walmart) only knew they would be having a new superstore in Yucca Valley many months ago.. Let's hope it improves. Right now, probably the nicest, cleanest Wal-Mart I've ever been in. Probably one of the biggest too. Special ordered a cake for a mini Christmas gathering at work. I raved to my co workers how easy and beautiful my other two cake orders came out so they asked me to order one for our mini Christmas gathering. Since I live in the Morongo Basin, but work in Palm Springs, I requested pick up in the Yucca Valley Walmart at 6:00, the time it was to be ready and the evening before the party. I took off work an hour early to drive back to Yucca Valley from Palm Springs and pick up my cake but it was no where to be found. Four people including the manager came to the bakery section to look for my cake. Turned out there was no cake decorator that day. (could have called me to tell me that, but, anyway). The manager took things in his own hands and offered to have the pick up in the Palm Springs Walmart to be ready two hours before our gathering. He kindly used his own cellphone and I witnessed the personal call he made to place and transfer my order for me. He said it will be ready at noon in the Palm Springs Walmart. At noon the next day, two hours before our gathering, I went to the Palm Springs Walmart and all the lady at the bakery section did was shrug her shoulders not knowing anything about my cake. Sort of embarrassing going back to my work with a store-bought cake off the rack and not a special order one after raving about the previous service I received. I would like to still use this service again, as my other two orders were beautiful. This may have been a little hiccup in their service, but still. The Yucca Valley Walmart has the worst selection of any store of this kind I've ever been to. I am virtually never able to find what I'm looking for here, and we're not talking items that are normally hard to find. For instance, in the past, my Walmart shopping list has included such "exotic" items as: - Size small women's sweatpants in black, gray, charcoal or navy (the only size small women's sweatpants they had were pink!) - Black cotton bikini briefs (again, nope; my options were white, pastels or weird patterns) - Black bootleg yoga pants (they only had leggings) There were many other times I left the store empty-handed after trying to buy basic clothing, small kitchen appliances, computer/phone-related items, etc. My most recent Walmart disappointment occurred today when attempting to buy spring cleaning supplies. Last night I spent quite some time reading various product reviews online and then I made a list of items that, according to Walmart.com, should be available at the Yucca Valley store. Ha! Of the six items on my list they had one! And these were all best-selling products from big national brands. While they carry the brands on my list, they didn't have the products I wanted. In two cases, they had similar products that were not nearly as good a deal. Intentional? Honestly, Stater Bros. has a better selection of cleaning supplies than this Walmart store! This is really frustrating given the lack of other options in the high desert. There isn't always time to order online and I hate having to drive to the lower desert to buy something as basic as sweatpants or a mop-and-bucket system. Keep wishing this store would get its act together and keep getting disappointed. read more

Lost and Found Department or whoever was manning that section, took them forever to answer their phone. When they answered, I was phone on hold for over an hour. I can hear whoever was in the room chit-chatting with someone while the other phones keep on ringing. All other staff were good, very helpful and courteous every time we visit this store. But I guess there is a section of that store that have no manners at all. read more

Walmart has slipped from being a decent company to one that refuses to honor it's warranties and contracts. While the majority of the main store itself does a fairly good job of taking care of customers, the automotive department is lacking. I purchased 4 tires for my truck on walmart.com, had them delivered to the local store in Yucca Valley, CA. 92284. I then paid for installation of all 4 tires, road hazard and lifetime balance and rotation. The truck was taken into the bay by walmart technicians, the old tires taken off of the truck by walmart technicians, the new tires were installed on the rims, balanced and reinstalled by technicians and torqued to specification by walmart technicians. Today, I went to the Yucca Valley Wal-Mart to have a tire repaired that had a slow leak, and was informed by the "automotive manager" Eric(k) that Wal-Mart would no longer remove the tire, that I had to do it in the parking lot, because the truck is too old, a 1964 Ford F100, and that they don't have torque specs for it, and that he knows that even Ford doesn't have the torque specs either. When asked what changed, I was told it's always been policy. Hmmm, then how/why did they install the purchased tires at Wal-Mart? Normally I wouldn't have an issue with doing so, but I am a disabled veteran, with cervical spine injuries that affect my arm strength. And no, I didn't pull the disabled card, it's simply that removing a tire is a no go for me physically. And if they would no longer remove the tires from my vehicle, then what about the contract that walmart has with me for rotation and balance that I paid for?. Manager Eric(k)s reply...bring in all of your receipts and he'll refund the road hazard and rotations part of the contract... Do yourself a favor, Buy your tires from anyone but Wal-Mart. They apparently have lost touch with actual customer service, and are pretty much bottom line in it for the money. read more

As it stands right now the same employees that were at the other location are here so if you had your favorites they're still here if there were employees you were not particularly fond of, they're still here too :) they offer a lot more in this super center and McDonald's is back. I've cruised around and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Produce seemed fresh, and decently priced. Nothing was on sale which I found odd. This location is conveniently located next to home depot and there is construction currently going on (April 2014) that will ad a marshalls and petco to the line up. read more

I don't get the hate here. If you need a Walmart employee for advice, for sure that's on you. Definitely do your research prior to coming. Same thing applies to Best Buy. Don't go shopping uninformed expecting the part time employee to be an expert at everything. I asked them for boxes when I was moving and they told me when to come in to get some. When I came in, they helped me more than they should have. Every Walmart has odd missing items and this one is no different. The grocery selection here is WAY better than at most other Walmarts. Plus it doesn't smell. Other Walmarts have a funky smell walking in like mold or dying souls are trapped inside especially with McDonald's. The only downsides are the self check-ins aren't fully open. They only open 1/3 of them, not sure why you build so many if you don't wanna use them. And its so damn big. Going from sports equipment to groceries is a solid three minute walk. I don't mind walking but if you're in a rush, I don't want to walk half a mile from one side to the other then to the check-out area...but thats just how it is. read more

Boo to the deli clerk who straight up lied to me. I don't usually buy groceries at Walmart so I am pretty unfamiliar with the particular items they sell. I asked the male clerk in the deli if they had any deli turkey without sugar. I wasn't being difficult or picky...just trying to expand my options. He said "sure. We actually have this one that is nothing but turkey." I purchased a few slices and started to eat it for lunch until I realized that the ingredients had printed on the price label. What he gave me was definitely all chemicals, sugar, and processed junk. Definitely not turkey! I was so disappointed. Not because I wasted money, but because he LIED to me and was really nice and faux-helpful while he did it. THIS is why I usually don't shop at Walmart. No morals, bad business practices and potentially dangerous to customers health. read more

I would've given this Walmart a good review because my experience was good inside. But as we were leaving the street sweeper and his walking blower man basically snared us for eating a cupcake on the curb. He didn't blow air at my GRANDCHILDREN but he went really close around us and like I said gave us dirty looks. Was very disappointed when I tried to purchase exercise equipment. I had just enough money in my account to purchase the exercise equipment plus the shipping and handling to find out Walmart had tried to take out money for two pieces of equipment. they cancelled the order because I did not have enough money in my account. I did not want two items I then notified them what the problem was and Walmart cancelled the entire order. they told me it would take me ten days to refund my money from my original order. too bad Walmart now I will shop at a real sporting good store. read more

Still they can't stock a shelf. I have yet to go into Walmart and actually get what I went in for. In their groceries they don't seem to carry the same things all the time it's a hit and miss. Dog food never stocked. Kleenex, toilet paper common most popular brands never stocked. And energy bars, drinks etc. you'll never get what you came for. The clothing and shoe department for men is smaller and never stocked. This store is a joke. Your lucky if there is more than two registers open. As usual I will choose food for less or stater bros over this and will have to go down the hill for everything else. I spoke with four Walmart representatives trying to buy paint in the locked cabinet. I stayed waiting for 20 minutes and never was able to get a hold of anyone with a key to be able to open the cabinet. The only explanation I got was that the employee that normally works in the section was on a break and had taken his keys with him. read more

This Walmart has turned into the worst store ever! I guess when you're the only big store around you can do whatever you want. What is the point of being open 24hrs when you never have anything in stock? There's always huge holes on the shelves and most of the time when there is a product in a spot it is the wrong one. Oh Boy ! Where did I start ? So I'm at the Sporting Goods dept. Bout 11:35 and nobody around so at 11:45 I walk over to the paint dept. They call for someone ...mind you I need someone with a key for the ammo case ...Nothing by 11:55 ....I know I should have left but there was a great deal in that case ! So I go to the fabric dept. And they call again so now it's noon & still nothing so I call on my cell phone & ask to talk to a manager etc.... so a lady comes over with the key & I had seen look down about 3 rows down earlier ! Unreal she was rude & when she rang up my ammo the price was wrong ! So I did get it for the good price thanks to a assistant manager ..so I got out about 12:15 ! I was desperate for a wheeled garbage can for my house in JT so I trudged to YV, Walmart, and the lower portion of their store was not open so I had to enter thru their main entrance, then walk 2 miles round trip to get the garbage bucket I needed. I'm 71 so it ain't easy but I really needed that trash can. I hoisted it to the only ONE out of TWENTY checkouts that were actually opened. Then it wasn't ...so I schleped it to the "self-checkout", swiped my card and walked out. They chased after me telling me I didn't do it right. But here's the kicker. I'm not a FT Walmart employee. I don't have a pension; I don't have bennies; I haven't been Walmart trained, I don't have vacation time. So...they kicked me out. I am 71...needing that trash can, willing to pay full price, and they kicked me out! LITERALLY...2 miles to get it. I never got that trash can! LAST TIME I EVER SHOP AT THE F'ing WALTON'S Mega Billionaire BS STORES ever again!! WALMART SUCKS!!! What I'm trying to say is that a FAMILY who owns HALF THE frickin' WEALTH IN AMERICA...should be able to figure out how to sell me a frickin' CHINESE-made trash can.
