Omg I was surprised to see 1.5 stars here with 100+ reviews....that is until I experienced a 0-1 star experience myself. This place is gawd awful. Do not frequent here unless you wanna leave feeling upset and irritated and slightly embarrassed. I asked for a gift receipt for my items and because she forgot :( was told I has to go to customer service for a refund first. So I went to the extremely long line and when I finally got to the front, "Marquisa" was irritated to help me. Meanwhile in the side room, there was a worker dropping heavy boxes off a ladder and creating a loud "thud each time he dropped it. Seriously? That just seem unsafe. Upon leaving, the security guard was checking the receipts "Costco"style and mine was not returned to me. So I asked The man next to Marquisa, Effrain if he'd be able to tell the security guard my situation and he rudely told me he was "too busy but I could just walk out and it would be ok." Since I was doubtful I urged him to walk me out. I guess since he was the "supervisor" he was reluctant with all the other walking around he had to do (note sarcasm) he huffed and pointed me out with a head nod to security guard. Dirty. This is one of the most unkempt Walmarts I have been to. Not that I expect a whole lot, but it's pretty bad. The disarray is partly from the disrespectful crowd that frequents this place (along with their wild offspring running amok), and partly from the amazingly lazy workers who seem to just be passing time so they can get a paycheck. The parking lot is dirty. Watch where you step before you get in your car or you will track horrid black stains on your carpet or floor mats. People drive like ass here, so be on guard and make sure you have your uninsured motorist coverage ready to go. This is within the LA strip so it is not actually Torrance, but LA City jurisdiction. Because of that, NO BAGS! Well, unless you pay money for a paper or tote bag. On the plus side, this store is pretty big, so they have a pretty good spread of product...if you can find it stocked properly that is... It is the Monday before Turkey Day 2011. I went to Ralph's Supermarket for Coffee. I got to Ralph's and the price was $15.49. I scanned the UPC code with my Iphone and found out that it was being sold for $8.49 at Walmart. Walmart was only a short distance away and I had to go that direction anyway. If you ever wondered what happened to those people you went to school with that quit after the 8th grade, they are either working or shopping here. The place is an absolute mad house. The only way I can describe it is 'a total quagmire'. There is zero organization. The self checkout lanes are broken. I watched two employees trying to figure out how to cancel a sale. This went on for a few minutes before they both gave up and left one lane broken and not working. The people using the self check out lane are just as dumb & clueless as the people working here. I mean come on now, if you have a shopping cart filled, the self checkout lane is not for you. If you have no formal education and still looking up phone numbers in the phone book the self checkout lane is not for you. If you have no common sense the self checkout is not for you. I will avoid this place & so should you. I would of paid the full price at Ralph's if I knew what I was in for at Walmart. I felt like fresh meat on the prison yard (not that I know what that feels like). This place is G-H-E-T-T-O. Honestly, this is one of the more inefficient Walmarts I can possibly encounter. The lines are consistently long the departments are SEVERELY under staffed. I was looking for a deep fryer yesterday in the kitchen section. Three different employees came up to me and said someone will be with you to help you. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Customer service is absolutely not a concept here. Got an email that my bike was ready for pickup. Drove all the way down there from my neighborhood (which does not have a walmart) 30 min in traffic. Was told it needed to be assembled and would take two hours. I had to be at work in three, so I said that was fine. 2.5 hours later I still have not received a phone call that it is ready and I am forced to leave the area for work. The next day I'm coming from my other job in Burbank. Calling the walmart from the stop and go traffic on the 405. Operator keeps transferring me to customer service who tries to transfer me to the bike guys. After being on hold for over 20 min, I call again. And again. Sometimes I'm on hold for the customer service lady, sometimes I'm on hold for the bike guys. Then when I keep calling, someone starts hanging up after two rings, so I quickly learn the operator is screening my calls. I get there, there's no one at the back customer service station. Another 30 min, and I have my bike, but the breaks are faulty and the back tire isn't put on correctly. Have to go to a bike store to fix it. If you'd like to deal with people who actually know what they're doing, keep away from this location. read more

The savings were unreal I had to buy my hair color at cvs since the pandemic grounded me. Instead of $11.29 or $12.99 at Ralph's it was $8.97 bought two. They have everything. I do not like this Walmart at all. I've been to several, in different areas, and this one is by far the worst of them all. They always have a mess. They are never fully stocked on many items and no matter what day or time of day you go there are always long lines. Its the only Walmart in this area so I can see why. Most of the staff are at least helpful and pleasant but many times you want to just high tail it out of there when you walk in and see a mad house and just pure chaos in there! DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FOR PICK UP IN STORE!!!!! This is the first Walmart I've been to that's Order Online process is such a hot mess. It took 2 hours over 2 days to pick up a toy (which I ended up finding in stock at a different Walmart -_-) I just came to pick up the toy & return it. Day 1: I made the mistake of going at 5 pm when everyone was getting off of work. There were 2 lines, 1 for layaway pick up and 1 for order online pick up - but there was only 1 cashier!!! Needless to say after the 1st hour and only moving a couple inches in line, I decided to leave & come back in the morning when they first open. Day 2: I get to the store at 7:45 only to find out that the line is just as long as it was yesterday smh. Big surprise, there was only 1 cashier working. A second came to "help" but she was moving slower than a snail crossing the street. I finally received my package at 8:45. I asked for some scissors or something to help me open the package (because I didn't have my keys on me), to which the cashier responded: "I don't have nothing to help you, if you want wait till I can find someone to help you" are you serious?! She could have handed me a pen or the pair of scissors in front of her but no. I just walked right out because I wasn't going to waste any more time with her poor attitude. The man in line before me had already been waiting on a bike for child on layaway for a total of 4 hours. When it was his turn, the cashier tells him that they can not find it or it might have been given to someone else. WHAT?! The man was very disappointed because he promised his child that specific bike. The cashier didn't even offer to see which other Walmart had the bike smh. It's sad that these cashiers with poor work ethic think they deserve $15 an hour. smh I would honestly rather put up with racism at the nicer Walmart's, than put up with the shitty people at this one. read more

There is a reason why there is a website devoted to them. www.peopleofwalmart.com It's crowded, loud, uncoordinated, and not wearing a bra to patronize the store is fashionably acceptable. Why do I come here? I try to be frugal and thrifty whenever I can and this means visiting Walmart. On a recent visit I was fortunate to find a parking space somewhat close to the store, which meant I can see the store doors from where I parked (if I squint my eyes and if there is no glare from the sun). There is a huge lot to park in yes. As soon as I exit my car, I am promptly approached by a pregnant woman holding a cardboard sign asking for money. I decline and make my hike to the store. As soon as I step inside the chaos begins. Long lines for McDonald's and long lines for the service counter. I navigate my cart through the crowded aisles which seems like driving an armored Humvee through the alleys of Mogadishu among burning tires and debris roadblocks. Items are scattered about and there is no order to the categories of items. I wanted to purchase a new electronic razor to replace my now inoperable norelco. No surprise the cabinet that the electronic razors are in is locked. So I try to find an employee to help me. I contact three floor employees that are busy restocking inventory. One tells me there should be a floor associate in the area, one tells me to go to the manager counter near checkout, and another says an employee in the clothing fitting rooms should have the key to unlock the cabinet. I decide to try all three suggestions. Even though this meant more navigating through the crowds and aisles. Not surprisingly all three suggestions failed. The floor employee that was supposed to be in the area was nowhere to be found, the manager counter was empty, and the employee in the fitting room had no idea what I was talking about. So I decide to cut my losses and leave. As soon as I get to my car, a man pushing a stroller approaches me and asks for money. I suppose that is a nice way to finish my visit. BTW, if you need fishing hooks, then you can't beat Walmart as far as prices. Huge selection and great prices. Don't worry, fishing hooks are not locked in cabinets. read more

Now THIS Walmart... my Lord this Walmart... I legitimately feel like this Walmart intentionally trains people to provide bad experience. There is NO way employees can be THIS terrible at their job ALL AT ONCE without it being intentional, or completely ignored by a manager. First of all, I was told this Walmart (by another Walmart) would contain the item I needed. So, from the first Walmart in Torrance, I tried calling THIS Walmart as I drove there... I was on hold the ENTIRE DRIVE THERE!!!! LITERALLY!!! Secondly, almost all of the employees were walkin' around in duos, chatting it up, talking/texting on their phones... I counted a woman cashier (with a line), security guards, greeters, the guy organizing the shopping carts, two women who continuously walk THROUGH electronics but completely ignores the 10+ customers waiting on SOMEONE to show up... and even a manager. I was in a hurry! I finally got ahold of someone, who immediately told me the PS Vita charger I was looking for was in the XBOX ONE section (what?) which, of course it wasn't. She said she would look on the computer for me, disappeared and I kid you not... NEVER returned. I waited for THIRTY MINUTES on her return... one employee offered help and I said a lady went to help me but disappeared, "You're in good hands then" he says... (lol). I got fed up and just walked out. I saw the lady on the way out the door, it's like she couldn't even recognize who I was... she completely just forgot about me... ...and guess what? Yep! You guessed it! On her cell phone! Thank you Walmart. I wanted to get a charger for a 13-hour work day and you were the only one opened at 7AM... you failed me twice, with two different locations and ruined my day. Congratulations. The name needs to be changed to GHETTOMART! Every time I come here, the parking is full. At least other locations have better parking. So while you're trying to cross the parking and into the store, youu have to make sure no one runs you over, 'cause they obvously don't give a damn here. And if you happen to cross in front of a car, drivers act like it's your fault. You better make sure to get a shopping cart outside 'cause it's shopping cart hell in here. You might get greeted as you walking in, depending on the employees's mood (which never seems to be good). Look to the right, and everyone and their mommas is waiting in a long line. You would think they were giving free food samples or something, but no, this is the line for returns. And if you've ever made the stupid choice to return something here, you know the minimum waiting time is 30 mins. I returned a dvd once. Ghetto bitches snatch your item and never cross a word with you. Maybe they're too shy?? Nope, 'cause Sha nay nay is too busy chit chatting with her co-worker about "bitch this" and "bitch that." Now as far as store organization goes... just imagine a storage room where boxes of food, clothes, electronics,etc. are dumped and left to move on its own. There doesn't seem to be much organization skills here. Go to the electronics department and you'll find a bag of chicken tenders next to a LCD screen; a pair of jeans in the freezer, etc. I do however see a small percentage of employees making an effort to clean the mess. But the rest are hanging around like it's lunch time in high school. You can ask them where the fabric softener is located, and they'll look around dumbfounded, mumble a quick "dunno" and walk away. There's at least two departments I loathe more than the rest: electronics and crafts department. You can yell and bitch all you want about needing assitance, but it falls on deaf ears. There's never anyone around, and the few that are standing there, ignore you. Lastly, I need to review the people who shop here (peopleofwalmart.com should paint a picture). Rude, loud and ghetto. They will try and bust a cap in yo ass for taking the last of something. They don't know what 'excuse me' means. They will release their cubs into Walmart jungle so they can roam and "tear s**t up." An occasional "sit yo ass down or ima smack you" will be heard, but all in vain. 300lb hoochie-mammas will take up all the space in an aisle. So you're left debating whether you should turn back or work your way through her hundred rolls of fat and risk not coming out alive. Now it's check out time. Your eyes begin to tear because you survived another shopping experience at Walmart in Torrance. But unfortunately you're forced to endure the longest wait in line EVER! Came in here to buy something on sale from Walmart.com. Apparently they don't honor their own website's price, as they told me that the only way to get the discount is to order the item online, wait 4 hours for them to get it ready, and then they'd let me know I could pick up my item. Clearly the item is there on the shelf, and I'm already here to pay for it, so why should I have to wait? Other stores honor their website's pricing, but Wal-Mart doesn't. I'm not coming back here. If I could I would rate 0 stars. From online shopping to in store shopping. I ordered stuff online as a bundle, when I went to pick up I only got partial of my bundle. They refunded me the money , and did not let me match up the price as what they had promised. I did a second online order giving them a second chance. Went to pick up at store and they told me that they are out of stock :( They told me they will match a price from an item around the same price. So when they told me To wait so the manager can match the price , manager never came out. I asked the workers to call managers but it seemed like if they afraid of the manager. Everytime I go here i always see someone I recognize. Besides that random fact,this is a Walmart that is mediocre at best. I love the parking because i always choose to park far away. I hate the fact that they have broken carts scattered throughout the parking lot. Some work and some do not. The best advice i can give you is to grab the nearest cart you see after you are parked because the inside usually has no carts during peak hours. The inside is always crowded unless you go before closing time. I like this Walmart opposed to all of the others due to the fact it is better than the crenshaw location. Well... then Wal-Mart decided to sell an iPhone for $97 and all of a sudden I found myself setting foot in Wal-Mart. It's not a welcoming store like Target, or a gentle giant like Costco. Wal-Mart is a behemoth. Big Bertha is a phrase that comes to mind. And all with the worst lighting ever! How people shop for clothing in such horrible lighting is beyond me. It seems like shopping here is like going on a military mission. You have to divide and conquer, I really think that's the only way to do it. And honestly, it's just stressful. I'm just going to keep this simple. Parking Lot - Crowded with reckless and rude drivers. Carts everywhere. Trash everywhere. Customer Service/Returns/Refunds/Cashiers/Staff/Management - Not the best. There are the few who actually give a damn about their jobs and try to help you if you had any questions. But most are just in that "i wish i were not here" mood. There's usually long lines due to these kind of workers. Inside - Everything is everywhere. Things that don't belong to what is labeled. And items here are usually out of stock. Since remodeled, everything are like far apart from another. There will be random isle with school supplies for example. Overall - Do Not Come Here. I'd rather drive from South Bay to Long Beach Town Center's Walmart just to get better customer service and they usually have items I need. And I'd rather go to Target or elsewhere then waste my time in there. read more

This review is for The Walmart located on Normandie Ave. Address is: 19503 Normandie Ave. Torrance, Ca. 90501 310-782-6022, On Mon. 1-11-2021 I decided to shop at Walmart. I did my transaction. Originally, I was going to split my payment. 1/2 Cash, 1/2 C. Card. I realized the amt. was too low to put on my C.Card. I asked for my money back, and gave the difference in cash. The cashier gave me back my original money. I was thinking that he gave me the wrong amt. back. I gave back the money to the cashier, explaining that he gave me too much change. I didn't want the cashier to get into trouble. Plus, I think the cashier was new. The lady behind me, complimented me, for being so honest. A Store Mgr. comes over, and hands me some change back. I asked him if everything was o.k. His reply was yes. Tues. Jan. 12th. I proceed back to Walmart, and spoke to Nicole-who took all of the info. She was supposed to call me back on Tues. and never did. Today, Wed. 1-13-2021, I go back to Walmart, and spoke to a Customer Service Manager-named David. He was of no help. Walmart has camera's. Able to view the incident. David's response was, Walmart may press charges. Also, as a customer, you are not able to speak to any one in the office. I paid back what I initially owed. Asked for a receipt. Never got one. Asked for David to sign my original receipt-he refused. Asked if I could speak to someone-said no. I also saw David, the Customer Service Manager speaking to another female. I did not get her name. However, I will be able to recognize her on sight. David-Customer Service Manager was also flashing the money. I have no clue what he did with the money that I initially gave him. This is a Walmart that I will never visit again. There overall Customer Service is terrible, rude, unprofessional, doesn't care about the customer (s). And, I don't like being threatened. I was only trying to do the right thing. David's comment was, "You could have walked away with the money."My suggestion, is to find another Walmart to shop at. I know that I will be shopping at The Walmart in Santa Clarita. Walmart needs to hire individuals who have at least, 10 years experience in Customer Service, and not promote individuals who are in their 20's, who have no clue what Customer Service is all about, how to talk to customer's, etc. Walmart also needs to change it's policy that customer's such as myself, and other's will have the opportunity to speak with someone in the office, and the customer will be able to clarify any issues that can be explained to the individuals sitting in the office. Walmart has an obligation to be fair in the treatment of their customer's, and not use threatening tactics. I was in Customer Service for over 20 years. And, no matter what the situation was, my customer's were happy. This particular Walmart is not a happy place. I did not appreciate the way I was treated by a 20 something year old, who has absolutely no concept what Customer Service is all about. This is by far one of the most disgusting Walmarts I've ever been to. In the cosmetics department all the nail polis had been opened and all the displays were painted with it. Boxes of hair dye and other products had been opened. Its so loud in the store, for whatever reason, people are always yelling. Ive been here three times, this will most likely be my last. read more
