Came last night for trivia night. Located in the bar area of the restaurant. Fun time! Trivia begins during happy hour, so take advantage. Drafts, mix Wells, and house wines are $4.00 with select apps discounted. Had the boneless wings. Good flavor, sweet and hot for $7.00. On Thursday all martinis are half off. Had a blackberry which was outstanding for $5.00. Only complaint, it can be a challenge to hear the trivia questions due to seating arrangement and noise within the bar area. The announcer did come around to ensure you heard the question correctly. First, second, and third place wins gift cards. Had the open face chicken and artichoke pita sandwich for $11.25 as the server recommend this selection. She was right on point. Very good. You can select from many different sides. I choose the fried brussels sprouts. They where full of flavor and tasted great. I would recommend this place for a night of testing your brain power. read more

I honestly really like Walnut Grill. We just had a pretty terrible experience. Five of us co workers came for lunch. My colleague and I picked the restaurant because we have never had a bad experience and the food is pretty good. However, this day was pretty terrible. We were seated fairly quickly so that was good. We had a table in the large eating area. It was not crowded at all. We sit down and our server comes over and takes our drinks. She comes back with our drink orders then we order food. We waited for about an hour to get our food. No one came to check on us until about 5 minutes before the food came out. It appeared there might have been a problem in the kitchen but no one came out to let us know. Our food came finally came out and it was just alright. We were not offered an explanation as to what happen or an apology. Honestly I will not be coming back to this location any time soon. read more

Stopped here on our way to West Virginia. Went there right when they opened on a Friday morning and had the entire place to ourselves for half of our meal. The restaurant is huge and has indoor and outdoor seating. It is very clean and well maintained. The restroom was clean as well. The service was good. I had the Huevos Rancheros and man was it deliciousss!! The flavors were great. The tostada along with potatoes, eggs, chipotle aioli, queso fresco and pico de gallo made one heck of a delicious brekky. 5 star for the dish. My husband had the creme brûlée French toast that came with Breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were very tasty, cooked to perfection with nice seasoning. 5 star to that as well. The French toast is another story though. Not sure why they called it creme brûlée because they tasted no different than a regular French toast. They were dry, flavorless and deserve 2 stars. Disappointed! The waitress had zero clue what she was doing, I asked a question and she couldn't answer it and instead of asking someone I had to get up and find out the information myself. I had to get my own beer and the place was not busy. Not sure if it was her fault or it could be the lack of training!!!!! I was starving but decided I didn't want to eat here. When in Robinson it is sometimes difficult to find a restaurant that isn't jammed (especially at Settler's Ridge), so we were pleasantly surprised to find the gem of Walnut Grill. We sat at the bar and were quickly greeted by the staff. The menu has a large variety of items to choose from (including healthy options---hallelujah!!!) I also love that items come in different sizes because let's be honest we don't always want the supersized salad that comes in a mixing bowl. I tried the Roasted Beet salad (small size) that included "field greens, fresh roasted beets, caramelized walnuts, gorgonzola, and a herb balsamic vinaigrette". I was not disappointed and would definitely order this again. We normally come to this location before we head over to the movies for a night out! We always have great waitresses & a good experience. Extremely long wait times regardless of the day or amount of customers in the restaurant. Unfortunately, until these chain restaurants begin paying fair wages and benefits, customers will be treated extremely poorly. Upsetting. This place used to be alright. Update: I will not be returning here unless it's the last restaurant on the planet. My husband and I went for breakfast and while the restaurant was basically empty, we waited over 45 min after ordering before the bartender (also our waiter, wasn't his fault) told us we were the next ticket. He had stopped over twice prior to that to tell us our food would be up soon and that the kitchen had gotten slammed before we arrived. We ended up leaving. On the way out I said to the hostess (who had seated us) "it's been like an hour and we weren't served" and her face was shocked. read more

I wanted to eat somewhere "nice" before my movie at the theater right around the corner. I searched for the menu, as I had never been. The website looked very nice, menu selection decent for what I thought was a nicer restaurant. The waitress was cool down to earth. I explained I didn't know what I wanted as this was my first time here. She told me what she liked and what was popular. I decided on Ceasar Parmesan with Blackened Chicken. The "hotness" of the blackened chicken was just right. The flavor of the dressing was good, however, due to the heat (temperature) from the chicken it became watery. Next time I would ask for a side of more dressing. I would have liked a side of bread or something to go with the salad. Nevertheless, the dish was good and I would eat it again. The atmosphere was something to be desired. For what I thought was an nicer restaurant, I felt the atmosphere was subpar. The table was sticky, there was something splattered all over the wall in my booth, looked like food, but I really don't know what it was. We ordered two appetizers with our party. The stuffed peppers were phenomenal. The zucchini was ok. I ordered a Pittsburgh grilled chicken salad, which was $10, I added chicken which was another $5. When I received the salad, I was extremely disappointed. I thought I was receiving a full breast. It was a handful of old bite-size cold chicken in my salad. The whole table was amazed. I was not going to complain but my mother-in-law told the waitress after she asked how our food was. The waitress was super nice and did not charge for the salad, in the end. She was extremely sweet. Nope and here's why. I'm not trying to be a Karen, I'm just describing my experience. Arrived at 4:30, not busy. It's a humid day, they have the patio doors open so the restaurant is muggy (like our drinks melted before we could finish them) and of course, flies and other flying insects made their presence know. Ordered spinach and artichoke dip. Dip was fine tasting, chips were stale and chewy. Our entrees took longer than they should have to come out for the amount of customers in the restaurant and what we ordered. My partner got a steak (medium rare), baked loaded potato and caesar salad. Steak was bland but cooked correctly. Potato was lightly "loaded". Salad has delicious croutons but dressing tasted like it was just store brand bottle dressing. I ordered caprese salad. Would have been good however and this isn't an exaggeration the fruit flies were IN my food. Not just buzzing around our faces the entire visit, CRAWLING in my salad. I stopped eating and just ate my sweet potato fries (which were wedges, not fries like the menu describes). SP fries were delicious, very crispy on outside but sweet and soft inside. The waiter comes over to see if we need anything, I tell him about the bugs in my food and his response word for word is "Would you like to take it home? I can get you a box." We paid our $74 bill and left this weird sports bar/cafe/Italian restaurant. We won't be returning to this weird and dirty establishment again. read more

It's a Wednesday night and we decided to try this place for dinner. When walking inside, we noticed that it is clean with a current decor. The hostess was friendly and offered us a seat in the bar area or dining area. We chose the dining area as it was a bit quieter and we wanted to be able to talk. The place was about 80% full, but we managed to get a booth. After perusing the menu, we noticed the appetizers and entrees were fairly pricey and since we had never tried this place, we opted for a couple of sandwiches for our first visit. My hubby settled on the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich with fries and I chose the Beer Battered Cod Sandwich with fries. After we ordered it took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. At first glance, the plates looked pretty good (picture posted of the fish sandwich). However, upon further inspection, the food was lacking in a big way. The fish on the sandwich was cooked well on the inside but the batter was far from crispy. In fact, it was down right soggy. So much so that when trying to cut through it with a fork, it seemed like rubber. The shaved prime rib sandwich had more bread than steak. Ultimately, better than the old SteakUm's used to be, but nothing to be excited about. Hubby said it was "meh". The fries sort of tasted like they had been reheated and there was absolutely no salt to be found on them. Our whole meal had an overwhelming lack of flavor. Thank goodness for ketchup and tartar sauce. The service was good and our server was attentive and polite. She refilled our drinks without being asked and brought the check in quick fashion when we were ready to leave. The big bonus were the little bowl of mints on the way out. The new Walnut Grill in Robinson looks nice. I went with a group during lunch. I ordered the Beer Battered Cod fish sandwich and fries. The sandwich was HUGE. The sandwich was okay. The food came out hot and was cooked correctly. The batter was not as crispy as I would of liked it and lacked flavor (I love beer battered fish). The overall experience was good. Ambiance - Great - this could be a good place for happy hour in the future Service - Great - the server did a nice job and was polite. Wow. Did a late Sunday lunch, all our food great. Prices very reasonable. Sundays do breakfast offerings until 3 pm. Tasty, nicely presented good food. My burger cooked to order! Other orders, also wonderful. Great menu check it out. Especially liked the service. Jennifer, our server was so good, knew the menu, answered our questions regarding food & drinks. Always handy as needed but not intrusive. Nice to go to a place w/ good, good food and have a delicious lunch without a server interrupting every 2 minutes ..need water, tea... duh, in so many places difficult to carry on any conversation b/c servers are trying to help but instead are a constant interruption to a private or business conversation. Friday happy hour with friends. The appetizers we ordered were good, dumplings, stuffed peppers, artichoke dip, boneless wings, tuna roll. They took a little while to come out, but not too excessive. Drink orders were VERY slow getting to our table and some only made it there because another waiter noticed how long they were sitting in the service area. One person in our party had to ask for water 3 time before finally getting a glass. Then, two of us ordered entrees. The food was delivered 50 minutes later and was inedible. The bread on the crispy blt was burnt on top and soggy on bottom (evidence of it sitting in the window for a long time). I decided just to eat the "good stuff" inside the sandwich, the lettuce and tomato were warm and wilted, the chicken tenders were soft and tepid - just no. The other entree was a shrimp salad, the greens were warm, gray and wilted; it was the saddest looking food. To his credit, the kitchen manager came out and talked to us to try to make things right. At this point, I wanted nothing to do with any food from the kitchen. We opted for our checks, the manager comped our food for the trouble - good move! He promised the General Manager would be out in 3-5 minutes - 25 minutes later our waiter came out and we helped him sort out the checks and finally paid and left 40 minutes after refusing the awful dishes and NEVER seeing the General Manager. They did some things right, I do give them credit for that. The GENERAL MANAGER COMPLETELY FAILED. Not managing the staff, not monitoring the kitchen, and not fulfilling the promise made by the Kitchen Manager. Get it together. read more

This is a convenient place for a happy hour drink and snacks or a lunch date with a friend. They have good drink specials every day of the week (I personally favor Mojito Monday) and they always have a good selection of beer on tap. The service is generally pretty good, and the staff is friendly. They have some creative salads (I like the Strawberry Balsamico, add salmon), but they can be pricey if you get one that doesn't come with a protein and decide to add on. I haven't had anything bad here, but also nothing extraordinary. I would recommend if you aren't looking for a food experience, but just want a reliable place to hang out with friends. read more

Friday - 7:30pm ( restaurant not even remotely full) I have had several experiences at walnut grill that warranted a review, but I tend to keep my thoughts to myself. We had decided to just stay away and make other dining selections. But good job WG you suckered is back with a $15 off coupon :/ For starters the when seated at our table the floor was covered in old food and crumbs. Most of the food was small and semi forgivable, however there was no way to miss the large chunks of wilted lettuce under the table. I promptly kicked the chunks of lettuce onto the floor after being ignored by the hostess about the issue. Next let's talk about the insane wait time to be treated by our server - time from being seated to greeted 10min - prob close to 20 to get drinks- foot took nearly and hour ( so an hour and 30 min from being seated to get our food) During that time I also discovered the less than sanitary conditions of the rest room. I was starting to question the safety of the food I was about to eat When the food came I was pretty satisfied once we received silverware and napkins (because an hour and 20 minutes was clearly not enough time to gather them) I enjoyed my WG Burger my husband had a cold wrap and the kids had a cheese burger and a grilled cheese at $7.95 ( Drinks not included in kids meals FYI) Then It all came crashing down again: I go to eat my sweet potato and something tastes a little off, and it was not until I turned the potato over to discover it is completely burnt ( pic #2) I was extremely disappointed. And to my surprise when I informed the server I was offered no replacement, no apology, nothing. It was at this moment she decided to place the bill on the table stating she circled the original amount of the bill "so we can see the difference after your coupon" AND JUST WALKED AWAY!! I have to give up this location which disappoints me. We ordered 2 Cobb Salads. The manager brought them out to us. We noticed that 3 of the 7 ingredients were missing. There were NO avocados, NO Gorgonzola cheese, and NO egg. We called the manager back over and told her these were missing. She said "yea we're out of avocados and the Gorgonzola cheese." No warning that 2 of the main ingredients were not available and no offer of any compensation at all. In fact I cannot believe that the manager feels ok with bringing this out of the kitchen and saying nothing. We were there sitting at the bar and heard 2 other tables ask for the manager due to problems. The bartender was hard working and sweet btw. Cook comes out of kitchen and sits at the bar and watches tv between cooking meals. That was also interesting. Also other reviews are correct...fruit flys (or gnats) everywhere. read more

Came here for Sunday Brunch on Easter Sunday 4/1/2018. These guys did a tremendous job. We have a dairy allergy in the family and they were very accommodating. With simply explaining our issue and our daughters requirements the waitress took it upon her self to talk to the chef and have her own scrambled eggs made separately. We also asked about deserts and the waitress and chef worked together to promptly whip something up. In general the staff were overly friendly even on the busiest of weekends (Easter Sunday). I would highly recommend this place for lunch, dinner and ESPECIALLY Sunday Brunch. If I had a negative the area where they have the buffet was tight. It was very crowded for people to get to the food and/of when some of the food ran out it was difficult for people to get out of the way of the waitress/cooks to get the new food in there. It is a tight quarter and I'm not sure what they can/would do to help this - they probably are doing the best the can with the space they have - but this would be my only recommendation for improving the place. read more

The server greeted us and was friendly and attentive enough, but decided it would be a good idea to start with telling us how he was recovering from a hangover. Cool. This place could be so much more. Good menu, nice drink selection, etc. But it was EMPTY when we were there and the food was simply okay. Soup was a little too salty, cheese on my sandwich wasn't melted, table was sticky. Just a lot of misses. My husband said it best. They need to decide if they are five stars or two. They are not the only option in the area. The decor says "hip, kinda swanky, upscale bar but not too fancy". The food and service say Applebees. Just confusing. read more
