I have been to both Walnut Grill locations now and I go in thinking they are so over priced but I always leave satisfied and disagreeing with my own assumption! I ordered the California chicken club with the fresh vegetable medley. The vegetables were so great - fresh (not frozen), tender but not too soft and full of flavor. The chicken club was equally as delicious and stacked high! The bun was perfectly toasted. My husband ordered the mahi mahi tacos and raved about them. We stopped in during a weekday lunch. It wasn't busy and the service was quick and friendly. A little robot delivered our food and our server followed right behind it to move it from the robot to the table. We had never experienced the little robot before so we were surprised by it ha! Cool way to run food I suppose. Walnut Grill remains a fan fave when we can't decide where else to go. Went on a Friday night people outside seemed to be enjoying the music. But inside you could not have a conversation due to loud music. The waitress seemed confused. When I said special she just pointed to the weekday specials of what is already on the menu. Thought they had summer specials but she did not mention them. Was there for happy hour and those prices are more inline with what you should be paying. The drinks were average . Person in group had a mango mojito that came in a tall beer glass and she didn't like the taste of it. Strawberry Martini did not come with the fresh strawberries as it said on the menu. Told waitress and eventually much later she brought over 2 small slices of strawberries. Appetizer was the spinach artichoke dip which was on the salty side. Had the special shrimp scampi, a little too garlicky but a nice size portion with pasta and a large side salad. Gnocchi Chicken was ok as was the crab cakes. Crème Brûlée was tasty. Almost 9 months ago I wrote a 5-star review, but something has happened since then. We went to dinner tonight with friends, and everyone had some complaint about their food. (And we are not a group that normally does this.).My salmon was so dry that I could only eat a couple of bites, for example. And here is a suggestion, when a diner does not eat most of their protein, do not ask if they want it taken off their bill. That is just plain embarrassing if you are in a group. A server should be trained to simply remove the item from the bill. BTW, I told her not to remove it because I had eaten my salad and some potatoes. We came to walnut grill for a thanksgiving dinner buffet. We enjoyed all the food. Turkey, prime rib (which was really the star of the show), veggies, mashed potatoes, yams, shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque and a wide selection of dessert. The candied walnut salad was amazing. The atmosphere is nice. Very swanky. We didn't have silverware though and had to ask for it. Another miss is the last of serving utensils on both sides of the buffet. I saw some people getting to frustrated that they mixed the tongs for the nut free salad with the nut one. This is a health hazard due to nut allergies. This was pretty important to me too. This review is based on a DoorDash order. I haven't had Walnut Grill for quite a long time, and my meal was fantastic! The Salmon BLT was incredibly delicious. Like I will crave this. Crusty multigrain bread, lettuce, tomato, blackened salmon and delicious, thick-cut bacon. The bacon was candied and had subtle sweetness and heat. Blue cheese on a BLT? Total dark horse in this flavor bomb of goodness. My Caesar salad was par for the course. Nothing amazing but satisfied my craving. My wife loved her cranberry walnut salad. We got the hummus, too. The smash burger and fries were SOOO super yummy! I felt like I could've eaten that for a month straight! I'll definitely be going back for that combination again! The chili was the only thing I wasn't the biggest fan of. It has barely any meat in it, and was mostly and oily sauce with peppers, which tasted good, just needed more meat :) I'm definitely still going to go back another time and give the chili another try! It was a Saturday evening and we needed a night out to relax after a long week. We did not have a reservation and didn't need one, thankfully, as they had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. They have a nice side porch that is covered and a huge front seating area. Our server was Maggie and she was delightful. She was attentive and efficient even after dropping some glasses that shattered on the floor. Cleanup on aisle one! She cleaned that up too. We had some martinis that were decent to start. I had a dirty martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives and T had a cucumber gin martini that was super refreshing. We both ordered the small filet mignons that were cooked according to our preferences and topped with a gorgonzola breadcrumb and butter mix that was good but, for my preference and tastes, took away from the actual flavor of the grilled filet. The filet was very tender and tasty. My only complaint was the baked potato that was super overcooked and sort of dense and gummy. The house salad with bleu cheese that also came with the filet was very fresh and enjoyable. We had a coupon for their famous dessert, the caramelized walnut ball, which was a super yummy way to end the meal. It was super crowded but it definitely doesn't excuse being sat at a dirty table and having to wait 15 minutes for someone to come clean it. Didn't have silverware, had to ask. Their manager/hostess is extremely rude and let out super long sighs on the phone when I asked her to check if their Thanksgiving pasta was vegan (she was inconvenienced that she had to check the back of the box that they buy since they don't make their pasta in house). The chicken was very large for only 8 dollars and the sweet bread and butter was that of a Texas Roadhouse. When we reached the main course we hit a roadblock... I'm giving some grace on my review, as it was lunchtime on Father's Day... Overall, the place is alright. The biggest issue we had was the service it took 30 mins to get our NA drinks, and took 1hr 15min to get our appetizer. The meal then came 5 mins later. But like I mentioned, it was Father's Day, so I'm sure everyone was overwhelmed. The ambiance was great - we sat indoors, but the patio looked really nice too. I got the Mixed Grill, which consisted of Filet Mignon, Chicken, Shrimp, and Salmon with 2 sides, which I chose house salad and a baked potato. The food was about what you'd hope for. My wife got the California Eggs Benedict and loved it. Our toddler got the pizza, and her portions were comically large for a 3-year-old. She wasn't complaining We will be back for sure. My wife and I went to the Walnut Grill in Wexford last night for dinner. I have to say I was very disappointed. First off it was super noisy and I could barely hear my wife talk. I decided to go to the Walnut Grill as I had gone to the Robinson branch about 5 years ago and the experience was totally great, Both the food and the service. My wife and I got there around 530 with no reservation and where seated immediatly. The server was very slow from the get go and only got worse. I believe she had to many tables and just did not do a good job at all. My wife and I ordered drinks and french onion soup's. The server finally came back to take our orders. I ordered a filet medium rare and a caesar salad and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked ok and the salad was good as well. The steak was just ok nothing special at all. The french onion soup was not that good at all and not how I remembered it at all. The mashed potatoes where not good, Just had a bad taste to them. As a yelper when I checked in we where offered a free desert ball. I asked the server to bring it during the meal and I had to ask several times as she originally said the coupon was not good. She did finally bring it. I have to say the entire reason we went to there was that I had such a good experience in Robinson. Take my word for it not all branches of the Walnut Grill are the same. If I was you I would defiantly skip the Wexford location totally. You can be sure I will never go back to the Walnut Grill Wexford location. I had a hard time figuring out how many stars to leave I thought about one star but decided on 2 stars which I think is being generous. Our extended family gathered for a birthday dinner here due to the expected high quality food and dining experience. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I am not one to write strong reviews on the negative but will be today. Not only was the service lacking (our used appetizer plates and beverage glasses were never cleared), but not one person out of the 13 in our group had anything good to say about their meal. Those who had steak....cooked less than raw, chewy and fatty, no flavor! Those who had chicken....way overcooked dry and burnt on edges. My gnocci was probably a week old from the fridge and reheated - chewy pasta instead of tender. THEN get this...we only returned the birthday girl's dinner and they offered something else to take home. Later that evening she ate the smashburger they offered and got violently ill and this lasted for hours causing her not to be able to breastfeed her new baby. My teenage son couldn't even take a 2nd bite of his steak and he typically won't turn down red meat unless it is still hanging in the butcher's cooler! We will never go here again and do not recommend. On another note: We have been to the Walnut Grille in Robinson a few times recently and had no issues with food or service. Decent food ruined by horrible implementation of a credit card surcharge. While these are bad anywhere this place implements it by adding it to the check by default and supposedly taking it off if you pay by cash. I did and they did not. Since it is still a small amount for most bills (under a buck) it is definitely not worth bothering the busy staff about it. This company basically assumes everyone wants to pay 3.5% more without actually raising their prices. Putting that to the side the food is pretty good though a little pricy even before the surcharge. Our last experience here wasn't great. We had a table for 5 with reservations. It took almost 3 hours to have dinner! We did arrive at 6:00 on a Saturday night, but this place has been in business long enough that they should know what Saturday night in a restaurant is like. Drinks: The first round was correct, but came out a little slow. Not too worrisome, since it's still happy hour and dinner rush is starting. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Drinks were taking WAY to long, and anytime one person asked for a drink the waitress didn't ask the rest of the table if they needed anything. We all spent most of the 3 hours with empty drinks and empty waters. They lost much revenue. Appetizers: we ordered 3 appetizers. Wings, pretzels, and Buffalo chicken dip. It took a while, but they brought us pretzels and potstickers. Looking back, we know we got someone else's appetizers, but we didn't know at the time because we all thought someone else had ordered the potstickers. MUCH later they brought the wings, chicken dip, and more pretzels (which we refused, as we'd already had them). THAT was out order, so we know we got someone else's initially. Service: by this point the waitress is avoiding us as much as possible. Running through the room, not making eye contact and stopping as little as possible with one item at a time. She mentioned at one point that "both the bar and kitchen had tickets piled up". At the end of the night she apologized that we couldn't have had a better experience and said she couldn't return more frequently because she was "too busy getting yelled at" (we suspect by other customers, not management, as nearly everyone nearby us was also having issues). This all seemed like the perfect storm of understaffed (waitstaff, kitchen AND bar) and bad management. I feel like everyone was trying their best, but were set up for failure. Dinner: there was about an HOUR gap between ordering dinner and when it was brought. For that hour, we had no drinks no contact with our server, or any manager apologizing for the delay. Nearly everyone else in the place had left by then. The food finally arrived, and at least it was correct. I can only speak for myself but the food was nothing to rave about. I ordered a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were warm but not hot, flavored well, but we're REALLY thick. It was difficult to swallow them. The steak was a great cut of meat, cooked perfectly, but not seasoned at all. Absolutely no flavor. read more

Arrived at 6:30pm and by 8pm the waitress was sweeping the floor around us and then mopped the floor around our table. At 9pm she told us that they had closed at 8pm and "let" us stay another hour. When we asked if we could go to the bar, she said it was closing too. There were 10 people sitting at the bar in no hurry to go anywhere. When we walked out, they had the hours listed on the door - 11am -10pm! This restaurant needs better management. We will not be returning. It's too bad because my salad was tasty! I recently had lunch with friends and had the most wonderful experience. The food was great! I had the Street Tacos with Shrimp. Others had the chicken flatbread, the Buffalo Chicken wrap and the cobb salad. Praise from all. In this day of service issues, we were so pleased to have excellent service provided by Aaron. He was very attentive and polite. Our glasses were never empty and we all felt very special. Walnut Grill is a very attractive restaurant that has a wonderful menu. We all highly recommend it! Lettuce was fresh and yummy. Everyone loved their food. My moms food was forgotten so they had to bring hers out last. Not so great for her. And sad for Mother's Day celebration!! But she said it was good when she finally got it lol. She and fiancé had the crab crusted fish. My daughter had the hamburger with applesauce and carrot sticks. HOWEVER they brought out fries with the carrot sticks instead. She ate them and liked them anyway. I wouldn't been happier with a healthier item. She liked all her food. I ordered the ahi tuna (like before) without sauce and it was good. But better my first time. I also ordered the three meat specialties of grilled salmon, grilled shrimp, and grilled filet mignon rare. Everything came out great. Through I've had better salmon everything was good and I almost finished my plate lol. Got a side of seasonal veggies. They were good. Dessert I sadly couldn't try but my daughter loved it!! As we sat down we found our seats filthy! Not a great start. We were then greeted by our server who was excellent! She guided us through the menu and helped us pick a dish. Our food unfortunately took a lot longer than we expected to arrive. I bit into my first piece of chicken to find it pink but thought maybe it was due to the red sauce it was sitting on top. Wrong! We had dinner tonight, a Thursday, at Walnut Grill. Our 7:30 reservations were honored, which is not always the case these days. We sat inside, not interested in sitting in the sun next to route 19 outside. Inside is kind of a sports bar atmosphere, with TVs and hectic music. Our young server was energetic, but called me and my wife 'you guys' at least 20 times. Ugh! Our food, a salad with crab cake and the fish tacos, was pretty good and delivered promptly. This was my first visit to the Walnut Grill in Wexford. Our server was friendly, and the atmosphere nice, but the food was only so-so. I ordered the French Dip sandwich. Fortunately, I ordered a salad for my side because it was big and flavorful- spring mix with two big pieces of tomatoes and a couple cucumber slices. The French Dip sandwich was very disappointing- the baguette was fresh and a decent size. However the amount of prime rib in the entire sandwich could not have been more than 2 or 3 ounces and it was very fatty (which makes it embarrassing to eat in front of others, when you have to pull fat out of your mouth while eating.) Other menu items might be better, but I'm not sure I want to return to the Walnut Grill. They also have a robot that brings food out to the dining room. We keep trying to have a good experience here but they keep failing. First, they were not busy the entire time we were there but when we arrived at 4:30 they said they only had high tops. The entire time we were there the regular tables never filled. The first comment by our waiter was the fact that we are his only table and he doesn't expect the other tables to fill tonight. When I turned my menu over there was a dirty footprint. You know it was on the floor and now it was all over our table. No one seemed to care other than an "oh my" and they took it and cleaned it and then I had no menu and a dirty table. Drinks came with no straws. Asked for straws. Straws came 15 minutes later. Dinner arrived missing 2 sides. Mashed potatoes were so sweet they tasted like someone added a lot of sugar. White potatoes are not sweet. We asked our waiter about it and he said the kitchen responded no sugar or salt is used in the mashed potatoes and they were grumpy. Nothing was offered, and no manager visited. I am still looking for the crab in my lump crab cake. Yes, I could have called a manager over but after a few times here with similar results and even our delivery and to-go orders being wrong every time we have just given up. I even added a nice pic of my menu. There is no accountability at this place. One last thing...The dessert cake was about 3 x 3 and 2 in high. This thing was nothing for $8 or so.
