Dismal corporate attempt at a "local" restaurant. Immediately noticed the 3% surcharge on a sign walking in due to "rising prices" by which I guess they meant "rising costs" (?). Hope everyone sees that because it is not mentioned on the menu. Inflation is here. Too much "price" to re-print the menus then. Exceedingly long (30-40 minute+) wait for food. Deep-frying of cauliflower app not disclosed. Almost nothing healthy on the menu for someone with a heart condition unless you remove the gorgonzola from the salad and that left zero flavor. No charm, indifferent wait staff, just cut costs to the bone and no manager or owner seems to care, and reading the other reviews I find I am not alone in this view. Will not return. read more

The Walnut Grill is a chain and that being said this was my first visit to this particular location. With your check in you are entitled to a free "Walnut ball" which is a $7.50 value. The Walnut ball consists of ice cream, sliced strawberries, whipped cream, nuts, caramel, all sitting on a bed of hot fudge. This is definitely one shareable dessert. So good!!!!! My husband and I came here for lunch and I had forgotten the fact that they have a special lunch menu which entitles you to half sandwich paired with soup or salad. Nevertheless we each decided to try one of their recommended items noted on the menu. He had the California turkey wrap while I had the turkey club with a side of heated mixed vegetables. The food came fairly quickly and the portion sizes were fairly big. They were both very good and I was at least glad I could finish our sandwiches. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. They have two seating areas. One is in the lounge and the other in the main dining room itself. They have a full bar and the place is very spacious. The Walnut Grill serves breakfast and lunch until 3 pm after which they switch over to dinner. As we were leaving the hostess asked us about our encounter and made us feel welcome. This location sits on Wallace Road extension which leads you to Wexford health and wellness pavilion and Northway Christian Community. Make sure to take this extension since there is construction surrounding the Rt 19 entrance to Wexford health and wellness. They have their own parking lot. read more

Ordered takeout and waited 1.5 hours for the restaurant to last minute cancel the order after calling them and asking for update. They said 20 minutes and then canceled order. Absolutely horrible customer service. Never ordering take out from them again. read more

Prompt and friendly service with great food. Our book club meets here a few times throughout the year and each time the food gets better (or my choices get better!) Servers are always attentive, cheerful, and keep the drinks and water flowing. I was initially skeptical of the price of the wild mushroom chicken, but was thoroughly impressed when my entree showed up. The portion was generous and soothed my hangry soul. I've done the pick a pair in the past, but in the future the entree is definitely worth the price! The garlic mashed potatoes had the perfect amount of garlic for this "everything could use garlic person." I'm still thinking about them..... The caesar salad, was....as expected a caesar salad. I have been a faithful, regular patron since WG opened. Its a convenient location, has outdoor dining in the summer months--all good. I was there last week and the bartender the only service staff for the entire bar, the booths and the high tops, which means no, or very slow service. The happy hour menu is down to 4 choices, and when I did finally get to oder the chicken cheese quesidillas, they were in-eatable--burned on both sides and hard as a rock, and the "cubed" chick chunks were odd, and ice cold. I am sad that this establishment cannot get it together. read more

Overall, a dining experience here is underwhelming. I've eaten here numerous times (at least 4 with anywhere from 2-4 guests in my party) and even before COVID-related staff challenges, the service was spotty at best. Most recently, we had who we believe was a floor manager give us attitude when we followed up on a request for cheese sauce for our appetizer. "You have to ask for it." was his response to our inquiry, "could you please get us our cheese sauce?" To which we responded, "we did, when we ordered the appetizer." That of course resulted in his profound response of "oh. Ok." (Not "I'm sorry, let me get that right away.") About 3 minutes later he arrived with the cheese sauce and snidely remarks something to the effect of, "oh, looks like you ate most of your pretzel bites before you got the cheese sauce you asked for." Well, gee, I guess we were supposed to stare at our pretzel bites while we hoped for cheese sauce that never would have came if we didn't flag him down and deliberate about the ordering process. Sir, you're not as humorous/charming as you think you are. I digress. The food itself is meh; especially considering the prices. My wife and I have tried a variety of menu items from sandwiches to seafood to pasta, and quality/flavor is just not there. In my opinion, you get better tasting food (and service) at Cracker Barrel, Firebirds, or some other comparable chain. Lastly, I always was impressed that getting a table here for dinner weekdays or weekends was never an issue. If anyone is looking for a great spot for a weekend brunch- look no further! Such a great menu and alcoholic brunch options. I will say service was quite slow- but that was bc there was I think only 2 servers covering our entire section, and a baby or bridal shower. Food took a bit, but it was great. If you're looking for a great dining experience in Wexford, Walnut Grill is one of the best places to check out! My boyfriend and I came here on a busy Saturday night. We expected to have to wait for a table, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was wonderful. Very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. My glass of water was never less than half full. On special that night was the lump crab quesadilla. I'm not a huge seafood fan, so I was a little skeptical about trying it, but I gave in nonetheless. This was the BEST quesadilla I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. I couldn't get enough of it. Walnut Grill knows how to make an excellent. For my entree, I ordered the turkey club. It was really good. Like, really, really, good. It was served with a side of fries. I enjoyed the cranberry spread that was on the sandwich, it added a nice tang. We decided to splurge a bit and ordered the creme brulee for desert. (Who doesn't love creme brulee?) This wasn't the best creme burlee I've ever had, but it was still pretty darn good! Overall, wonderful experience. Great food, wonderful staff. And the eggs were fresh but the salmon that ordered medium was dry as toast. $14 for 3 oz. of dry salmon, 2 eggs, lackluster potatoes and some wheat toast. Honestly, I've never had a great experience at Walnut Grill. Each time, I leave with the feeling that I will likely not return. My most recent (reluctant) visit was no different, and this time, I can say for certain that I will not be back. We've previously had multiple issues with slow and, at times, neglectful service. However, the food and drinks (when finally delivered) have always been pretty solid. This is not the case anymore. Everything ordered on my most recent trip was mediocre, from drinks to apps to entrees. Though we opted for indoor seating, I kept having to swat a few pesky fruit flies away from our food and drinks. I left with an overall feeling of ick. Everytime I come home to visit I have to come here . The food is great and the service is top shelf. The last couple times we were waited on by Maggie . She was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I also have a two kids with disabilities and she was nothing but patient and kind. This place is great! I've been to several during this trip. Easy to order and amenable to dietary needs and restrictions. I had the salmon as a salad, took the chili lime chicken as a bowl to go and the wasabi tuna as a bowl days later with a friend. Every time I tasted it and thought 'that's exactly what I wanted'. My husband and I decided to try Walnut Grill as we had never been and knew it was an established restaurant. We ordered fried brussel sprouts as an appetizer. We liked them. For our meals we got a caesar salad with grilled shrimp and shrimp scampi along with a cup of french onion soup. The grilled shrimp on the salad were very good with a nice grilled flavor. Not over cooked at all. The shrimp scampi was just okay. The french onion soup was interesting because it was sweet, a bit odd actually. The ambiance was confusing to me. There are a lot of TVs on with various sports games. The name "Walnut Grill" does not make me think of a sports bar. Their target demographic seems confusing to me. We probably would go again to try other grilled menu options but our server was not our favorite, not very friendly and seemed annoyed. Good lunch alternative in the Wexford area. I had the Shrimp Scampi and vermicelli noodles. For lunch, the portion is slightly smaller for $11 and for dinner, it's $18. You get about 8 medium size shrimps which is pretty generous. The sauce was pretty rich but not overboard. They had a great list of desserts too! Every Tuesdays, they offer a bogo for active military and veterans. The free entree is up to $20. The server was polite and took our orders quickly. Well - I have just recently, this summer, been coming to WINE Wednesdays at Walnut and these are my 25 yrs in the business, restaurant observations. There is no attention to detail, the basics are barely being done. Tonight empty plates were left on the table for over two hours while a female serving the MAIN table at the entrance of the restaurant left empty handed EVERYTIME. There doesn't seem to be any management supervising the front of the house. The Mgr, Red headed girl?, was out from back once that I saw between 6 - 830pm. And when she came out walked a straight line to the bar, said something to a staff member and turned around and went right back into her mgr. cave? NEVER walked the floor to see - ANYTHING. The lights are NEVER adjusted for evening leaving it WAY too bright and frankly uninviting. They should have a night time setting. The food is ok, it looks like the best part of this barely passable operation. I also noticed no one came to get paid for drinks or food??? You are losing TONS of money. I know for a fact that one meal and one drink were not paid for - the customers waited, and then eventually left. Service here, regardless of staffing levels is HORRIBLE. I know that there are no bussers anymore, but walking away from a table empty handed is a no-no Restaurant 101 basic. No wonder business is slow on the Happy Hour that used to be good. Sadly, the most recent visit to Walnut Grill showed an all-around mediocre experience. Given the price point, you can find a lot better options nearby. As a positive, there was only a short wait for a table on a fairly busy evening (which I suppose should have been a sign), and our server was friendly and helpful. That said, it was maybe 15 minutes between ordering a bottle of wine and its arrival, which seems excessive. Of the five entrees our party ordered, each was a disappointment. The cheeseburger and meatballs were overcooked, as was the balsamic chicken breast. The sweet and spicy chicken, on the other hand, was soggy and only tasted of sweetness (no spice to be had). Combine these weak entrees with forgettable sides (such as garlic mashed potatoes that had not even a hint of garlic), and you might wonder why each averaged around $20 per plate. You can get better, more interesting food, at a lot of competing locales. Trust me, it's worth waiting a little longer for a table elsewhere. read more

Worst dining experience we ever had! The service was extremely slow. It took a half an hour for drinks. When the food finally arrived, the orders were wrong and three of the meals were burnt and had to be sent back. We will not be returning. The brussels sprouts were burnt to a crisp, my husband's burger was burnt. My friends fish was burnt and my salmon was overcooked. The assistant manager seemed not to care in the least, and our waitress developed an attitude as well. We had to track somebody down even to pay our bill. They brought the bill the same time as the food. Guess they weren't even going to give us an opportunity to order coffee, or dessert. This is definitely the worst dining experience I've ever had. With eating out not an option, we decided to try Walnut Grill's carry out service for the first time. I found the on-line ordering platform very easy to use (though I did have to create an account with ChowNow, their on-line provider). After ordering I received an email indicating the the food would be ready for pickup in 45 min. As it turns out, they were running about 30 min behind when I arrived, and orders were not coming out quickly. This lead to a slightly nervous collection of 10-12 people waiting around for their orders, all keeping an appropriate distance from each other. :-| My order did eventually appear and everyone at home agreed that the food was as good as ever (and still warm as I live less than 5 min away). This was on the first Fri night of the lockdown, with dine-in service not allowed, and I expect that the kitchen was a little short staffed. I hope that the management can and will recall more kitchen staff ASAP to support what I hope will be a thriving carryout business for them in the weeks (months? I hope not) to come. read more

Perfect Friday night dinner with my girlfriends. The space is huge! The bar area was fairly crowded. We didn't wait at all to be seated. It also looks like they have a big bar/patio area out front for the summer months. Our server was prompt and went over all of the specials. You'll have a button on your table you. An press anytime you need the server. We didn't have to use it as our server was prompt without being pushy. It has a very larger drink selection. I love the Narcisi wines. I recommend the peach moscato. They also had a $3 draft beer and $4 Tito's vodka drinks specials. It appears they run drinks specials every day of the week. At our table we started with the fried zucchini planks. They were good, nothing special. For dinner I had the Balsamic Chicken. Excellent portion. It comes with two pieces of chicken, a side and the daily vegetable. I ordered the sweet potato which came with cinnamon butter. If you check in you'll receive a free Walnut Ball. There is no accountability for mistakes at Walnut Grill Wexford. Today I walked into walnut Grill at 11:46 - how do I know the exact time? I texted my husband that we just sat down to lunch. On Saturday, me and my 2.5 year old like to grab lunch after grocery shopping. He's a pretty patient kid and I know I have 45 minutes to an hour of his pure undivided attention so I come prepped with books and toys and in WORST case scenario if food takes a little longer than normal I will bust out the handy dandy cell phone with Disney Plus. First things first here, I was once a server so - I get it, people are short staffed, be kind - and we were. I sat here in an almost empty section where there were roughly 5 tables half way through their meals. We waiting roughly 10 minutes and no one approached us for drinks and I honestly didn't see a server for awhile to even wave down. I ended up grabbing our bags and was going to head out because I kinda saw the writing on the wall. However a couple was sat next to us and the server went to get their drinks. He managed to wait on 2 tables before he got to us. At this time it's roughly 12:10 and he came over and we ordered drinks and I told him we were ready to order. We ordered 1 Childs Mac n cheese with veggies and pears along with my meal French onion soup and a small harvest style salad. From there the serve was getting seated regularly but slow to action in general. I would say my soup arrived around 12:35 and my son started to get restless and wanted to move around and was asking for his Mac n cheese. The lovely couple next to use received their food so I figured we would be next. 12:50 rolls around and I have a hungry toddler who needs his nap at 1:15/1:30. I went up to the hostess and told her we hav even waiting over 40 minutes at this point for a small salad and kids Mac n cheese. She said to us, oh well why didn't you say something sooner? The couple next to us said wow you have been waiting a very long time and you were here well before us. The server came out to us and said, I heard you need to leave? I said no, we have just been waiting well over almost an hour at this point. He said no, your ticket says 30 minutes. The couple next yo us corrected him and said absolutely not, she's been here since well before 12:00 and it is now 1:05. He told the man well I'm sorry I can't make food come out any faster and we are busy. He walked away and I honestly couldn't wait anymore. I had a sleepy toddler and honestly didn't even want the food anymore. I asked for the bill and he brought it over, no discussion of voiding the items I didn't receive and asked me if I wanted a box for them. The couple next to me saw that my toddler was out of time for patience and took my check and told me to leave they would take care of it. I was treated poorly by that server even tho we patiently waited for our items and asked nicely, I know I won't get to thank the couple again or ever see them but I appreciate that they understood I was in an awkward place where I was being blamed for the poor service. Being kind to understaffed teams is important but it also matters to own the faults of the restaurant. read more

(A special appreciation for Jake) However yesterday I sat near the back where they apparently have a large banquet-type room There were a number of small children running around my table unsupervised. As the large group was leaving a number of them chose to stay and chat with one another near my table. No one was wearing a mask.
