4.5 I always drive past this place and finally ventured in. They host a women's pinball tournament every 2nd Monday so I went to check it out. The place was packed for a Monday! I ordered a vegan dog and Mexican coke. The vegan dog was pretty good! I only wish it were more filling. Even my friend that ordered the normal hot dog didn't feel full. If you plan to go for dinner, I recommend ordering two hot dogs to fill you up. The space itself is so creative and it's clear that there's a consistent community that liven up the place. Been coming here for a year now. Love it. Grew up in Venice. Rocked vans from when I was just wee little laddie. They make the claim that they sold the first pairs of Vans. That alone enough for me. But it gets better. It's shaped like how American brick and mortar businesses used to be shaped. A true landmark to the city of Eagle Rock if you will. All the staff are cool, Shaughnessy, Speedy, Hudson. Great pinball arcade! Had some unique vintage machines like the coin engraver, peanut vending machine, ziggy. There's even a Photo Booth in the back patio for $7. All machines accept quarters. Service was quick and friendly. It was busy on a Tuesday night so street parking is a bit difficult. Bathrooms are clean. There's indoor bar seating, out door seating in the front and back. Great pinball bar- arcade located in the Eaglerock area. They have some craft beer options as well as some cheaper beer options like Hamm's. They also have some simple bar snacks as well, including hotdogs, pretzels, etc. The service here is really quick and this place overall has that old-school field to it. For some reason when I walked in here, that first diner scene of the original Children of the Corn popped into my mind, and I mean that in a good way, haha. The pinball games here range from older to slightly more modern, but still overall the pinball machines range on the older side. Definitely a lot of fun to play with some friends while drinking beers. Even if you're not here to play pinball games it's still a fun bar to hang out and drink beers. This is a type of place that I probably would've hung out at a lot with my buddies when we lived in the Silver Lake area in the late aughts early 2010's. Street parking could be a challenge depending on when you get here, but I was able to find parking about a block away. read more

OMG! I think we found the new spot to hang before and after dinner. An acquaintance of ours recommended Walt's for us to do something before going to Vidiots and this was an amazing surprise! If you're looking for an affordable and relaxed environment, this is the place to be. They have a dozen pinball machines and very relaxed vibe. If you want to drink beer, play pinball, enjoy some simple eats, and hangout, this is the place to be! The staff is super quick with getting food and drinks. The Walt's bar has a pretty good selection of drafts beers unfortunately they don't have any dark beers on tap. But they do have a whole line of pinball machines that you can play. Each machine ranges from 25 to 50 cents a play. They have an outside sitting area in the back where you can enjoy the snacks that they serve. They have hot dogs, hot pretzels and they even have a an old school hot nut vending machine. The music is always changing and it's pretty lively inside. The bartender are really cool. And I think it's awesome how they pay they pay homage to the fact that it use to be one of the original Vans store. Ironically or not, serves a lot of Hamm's beer (Look it up on google and top question is, "Does Hamm's beer still exist?" Answer is yes, brewed by Coors). Also has a good tap list and decent wines. Tables inside are 50s style, and look uncomfortable if you're planning on staying a while. There's a lot outdoor tables as well. Rules outside seem to be smoke 'em if you've got 'em. I don't frequent bars often because I hate most bar vibes, ridiculously pricy drinks, lighting that might as well be completely off, overly loud music, never really knowing where you should stand at the bar to get a bartender's attention, etc. (it's funny...the more I write, the more I feel like I'm aging myself.) But Walt's? Walt's is different. Walt's is one of those bars where you walk in and know that this is going to become one of those places where you're going to be returning to time and time again. With an entire wall of pin ball machines, vegan dogs, pretzels, a pretty good (not the best) selection of beer, great vintage vibe, friendly bartenders, and a spot to actually order your drinks, (as well as plenty of outdoor seating in front and in back of the bar, I can finally be "down to go to a bar!" again. I came on a Saturday evening, and there was plenty of street parking around the area so that's also another plus. The reviews don't lie, I hope this place stays around for a very long time! ( literally a block away from Ma maison) Myself and a couple of friends came here to enjoy our Saturday evening - and that we sure did! Pinball machines adorn the place, a bar on the left and a line-up of machines opposite the ever busy booze bar! They have quite a few beers on tap and "fine wine", I tried the Eaglerock German Pilsner, it was okay but I do prefer the ales better. German Pretzels and the El Jeffe (a pretzel on a stick with crema and paprika?) can be purchased at the bar as well as hotdogs if something meatier is what you desire! They were all good, served nice and hot! Majority of the pinballs can be played at ¢25 per game, a couple machines I believe needs ¢50, they were all nicely restored, the flash of the glittering lights, the synonymous sounds - the "ping, ding and clatter", the main reason the machines rarely has no players, quite a nice change from the regular bar lounge with a tv on the wall... People were actually talking, enjoying with less time on their phones. Needless to say, I enjoyed it, I guess for now that is all that matters ;) read more
