They were still in the process of opening up this morning so my bagel was extra super fresh. "Egg Everything" and I opted for the bacon scallion cream cheese. Perfect. Crunchy outside, doughy inside and the cream cheese was flavorful. Self-service coffee had a fridge with all the different creamers available which was pretty awesome. There was even a power outlet next to the table and I was able to sit here and charge my phone for a bit. Great bagel, great service, nice little bagel spot. Five stars. Came here on a Saturday, had a nice crowd inside enjoying bagels, so it looked like I came to the right place to do the same. I got the hungry man, which had bacon, sausage, ham, egg, and cheese on it. Fitting name because I was hungry that day lol. I got it on an asiago bagel. It was very good. The star of this sandwich was the bagel. It tasted so fresh and delightful. The staff here was also very pleasant and nice to us. When we got there sort of later in the morning, some of their bagels were already sold out. They gave my wife a suggestion of getting a blueberry bagel on a breakfast sandwich that had pepper jack cheese and hot honey. I didn't know how that one would turn out, I was presently surprised because it tasted awesome! The absolute worst service. They had 10 people working there. I only ordered two toasted bagels with cc. Over 15 minutes later nothing. Finally I had to ask and they never started the order. Let's start with the good. The bagels are good and they have a lot of variety. I also like the uniqueness of the flavors including Rosemary Mozarella, Spinach Parmesan, Strawberry Crunch and others. They also have many bagel sandwiches that are also very "New York" in the combination of meats, cheeses, etc. Finally, they have almost 10 different choices of cream cheese in many unique flavors as well. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a Rosemary Mozzarella bagel and it was delicious. Now for the things that need to improve. The line was out of the door...At first I thought it was because of how good it was and that you don't have many good bagel choices in Burlington, NC but it is more a function of inefficient operations. No one was at the counter when we first arrived. We watched 3 customers leave after several minutes due to know one being present when you walk in. A few minutes later a man walked out from the back to hand a couple their order. He was rather grumpy and sweaty. He did take one order but didn't say anything to all the people in the line and just really gave the vibe that he didn't want to be there. I was somewhat empathetic as it seemed the A/C was not working (which is why he was so sweaty). The lack of air condition resulted in the door being open and I noticed that a fly had made its way to the counter where the bagels were in the open with no way to keep the fly off of the bagels. Eventually a very nice lady came to the counter and he returned to the kitchen. She was very pleasant and definitely picked up the speed of service. Another issue is that they were already out of many bagel varieties and it was only 9am on a Saturday. Outside of the bagels, everything else is minimal meaning if you want gourmet coffee this is not the place. They do have a variety of creamers, etc but just good old black coffee. Finishing on a good note...the cinnamon crunch bagel did not disappoint. This could be a great review if they would improve the customer service and get the A/C fixed. read more

With one of my kids in tow after dropping off the other at school, we decided to give this place a shot. It's nicely situated in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Inside, there are ample tables and a spacious counter displaying a tempting array of bagels behind glass. Above the counter, a chalkboard menu showcases specials and highlights different cream cheese varieties. On this visit, I noticed they offered breakfast options like bagel sandwiches with eggs and bacon/sausage. On my second trip, they had these fantastic specialty sandwiches with unique names and ingredients. I ordered a bagel, egg, and sausage sandwich along with hash browns and a plain bagel with regular cream cheese for the little one, paired with a coffee. For me, of course; he got orange juice! The bagel was fresh and they had a LOT of cream cheese on his - which was quite fun for him getting it everywhere! Kids, amIright!?The customer service was exceptional--friendly, welcoming, and helpful in navigating the menu. They also had a well-maintained self-serve coffee bar with a variety of creamer choices. My second visit was equally delightful. I went for the Zinger, a bagel sandwich that felt like a holiday in my mouth. I have been going to Wam Bam Bagels since they first came to Burlington. If I was writing this review two years ago, I would be giving it a five star rating. Making this review today, I can say that the quality of the bagels are still the best around. They are as close to a New York style bagel as you can get in this area of North Carolina. However... the quality of the establishment itself has significantly declined. We have gone and have gotten bagel egg sandwich sandwiches five times in the last six weeks. Four times out of the six, they have been out of the certain bagel that I prefer, and every single time they have gotten the order incorrect. Little things like forgetting to add cream cheese, putting on the wrong meat, and even getting more bagels than what we ordered in our bag are very common occurrences. Unfortunately, no matter what time of day the quantity of bagels is very minimal. Though they have a wide variety of unique flavors, hardly ever is the case full of choices. In addition to the lack of consistency and low quantity of bagels, one thing that has been very evident is the cleanliness of the establishment. I used to dine in frequently when the location opened, but due to the consistent dirty floors and very uncleanly restrooms, I almost always take my order to go. I struggle writing this review because this establishment always provided delicious food from an owner that is very passionate about her business. I truly hope that this is viewed as an opportunity for improvement because at this point, I think we ate our last bagel sandwich from Wam Bam for awhile. read more

Many many cream cheese flavors - beautiful bagels - normal sized - not huge but not small. I've gone here several times these last almost two years living in the Triad, but never reviewed until now. The owner is usually there when I'm there and she's unbelievably kind. She said they recently completely re-did the way they make the bagels and I think they are SO much better. This past weekend I had an everything bagel (nothing on it) and it was so fresh and fluffy. Wam Bam may be a decent choice for bagels and cream cheese, but their breakfast bagel sandwiches could definitely be better. Their sausage is frozen & pre-pattied which creates a soggy, flavorless final product. The bacon is thin, pre-cooked, and floppy. Wam Bam steams their bagels instead of toasting, which I'm sure some people prefer, but not my family. The bagels could also be more flavorful, as I had an asiago bagel that barely tasted of anything more than a plain bagel. One of the employees seemed a bit annoyed at the rush of customers, which really rubbed my husband the wrong way. Another reviewer noted "doesn't even have prices". I didn't take the time to study the board because I was told the price for 1/2 dozen which was good, so that's what I got. I added an impulse-buy muffin from the basket on top of the counter--no pricing there either but I made the mistake of presuming it would be reasonable. This is a $4.15 + tax muffin. Normal size. Dry and crumbly on the inside, soggy on top. The bagels were better than what's at the grocery store. This place is close to my neighborhood but I'll drive farther for better ones. read more

If they can shake the "Burlington Curse" (where life gets sucked out of everything good) they may last. This is my first time visiting Wam Bam Bagels. I'll break it down Pro/Con. Pro's: 1. Bagels are good. Better than any supermarket bakery or bread isle, even other shops in the area. Con's: 1. Prices are not on the menu board. We ordered 1 plain bagel with cream cheese and 1 bagel with cream cheese and lox...$15.00 2. Menu board is written in chalk, and hard to read. Not an organized flow of how to order. 3. The guy taking our order was not pleasant (tall, skinny, scruffy guy) and acted like we were bothering him for ordering food. There was a sign on the front of the establishment saying they were looking for help. Hopefully they replace him. If he were my employee, he would be terminated immediately. 4. It took the guy 10 minutes to make the two bagels in the back of the store. I counted 7 other customers behind us with more complicated breakfast sandwiches, order and get their food before us. Since I could see them preparing the food in the back, it looked like he was busy complaining about something to anyone who would listen (the other 2 employee's were working hard to get orders out coming from the front to the back) while he was moving like a turtle. The last thing is just an observation. They do not toast bagels. Only steam them, making them chewy. Apparently, this is a northern tradition (New York). Me being from south Florida, never heard of it. That's ok, because I'm open to try new things, and after trying it, not my favorite. They should probably offer toasting to folks who prefer their bagels hot with a toasty outside. If I come back, I'll order just the bagels from the bin and grab a cream cheese tub to-go...but only if the thin man is gone. read more

We go there from time to time, usually to order bagels to go, but we have had breakfast there. I was glad to see it open as there was no bagel shop in Burlington for a few years. There had been one on Church Street (part of a chain) but it was awful. Nice clean shop and friendly staff, especially the owner. This as about as close as you are going to find to a real NY bagel in this part of NC. I lived 7 years in upstate NY, lots of trips to NYC and lived 5 yrs in NYC's "sixth borough" - Boca Raton. Wife is from upstate also, so we are picky about bagels. The shop is co-owned with New Garden Bagel in G'boro and the other owner trained there for years. Some of their popular bagels run out early, so either go early or call, order and they will hold them for you for pickup. Skip any other place in town that claims to have bagels. read more
