Not gonna lie, it was a little overwhelming, until the Marvelous Miss Maya came in to save the day!!!! 2 out of three of us were having trouble deciding. This is now my go to spot for shaved iced! My family and I used to always go to a place called "get shaved" in Carson and were so sad when it shut down due to Covid. Since then, we've decided to explore more shaved ice places around the area and this has been the one that satisfies that craving. Sometimes it can be a little inconsistent with the syrup being too light, but majority of the time it's been great. This one blonde girl that works there is also very sweet and provides great customer service every time. My favorite flavor combination has been the sea breeze with blue Hawaii, tigers blood & pina colada. I do recommend this spot when you want something sweet but don't know what to get because they have so many options! I have yet to explore the menu more :) read more

What a disappointing visit. We love shave ice and finally decided to come here. But everything about it was a bad experience. The management on 8/29 evening was very rude. The shave ice was already melted by the time it got to the pick-up counter, the paper cups soggy. We literally only took a couple bites before our hands were covered in the liquid so we both threw ours away just a couple minutes after picking them up. When I went to get napkins they had a sign that said we needed to wait to ask for napkins. Ugo, Handels, or yogurtland are just a few blocks away and 100% better. read more

I went to Wanna Chill tonight. I'm not a shaved iced guy and wanted some kind of 'coffee' drink but not your traditional iced blended. Something with espresso, ice cream, something creative but smooth. I let the team get creative and they said they would make me a "coffee situation". What I ended up with was an amazing ice cream blended, caramel espresso, with drizzle on the sides of the cup. It was spectacular! My favorite spot in Redondo Beach! Just love the energy from the time I arrive. The perfect people combined with the tastiest treats. So much fun to walk in and hear your name echoed by the staff. Sadly my critiques are that the base ice cream scoop seemed super small and I was also surprised that the "big kahuna" was a lot smaller than pictured (still large but not like the picture). We found an easy free parking space right in front of the shop. There was a line out the door, but we eventually got to the front. I wanted the (cute) Kid's Bear dessert, but the cashier said they didn't have it - even though I showed her my photo of the picture menu. Shucks! I quickly had to decide on the Non-dairy Chocolate Chip ice cream. It's made with Oat Milk. It was OK. It wasn't as creamy as real ice cream, but at least I didn't have pain after eating it! Small ice cream shop with a large variety menu. Service was quick and it didn't take long to get our orders. Their prices are a lot cheaper than other ice cream places I've been to, but the quality is still great. I got one scoop of the pistachio ice cream in a cone and it was more than enough. My other friends were feeling adventurous and got two scoops of different flavors - they all enjoyed their choices! My only complaint is I wish there was actual seating. Wanna Chill has been a neighborhood staple for me mostly from a convenience standpoint, but my last visit allowed me to appreciate this little gem much more. My boyfriend, pup and I walked in on Tuesday night (2/10/26) while on a walk and were immediately greeted by a polite and confident young man (wow! I am old enough to use that phrase ) he allowed us time to peruse their abundant offerings, and when we ordered, he made helpful suggestions without coming off pushy or sell-y. He ensured that our order was correct with the other young gentleman working the line as I had a special request and thanked us for coming in. Our milkshakes and pup cup were made efficiently and tasted great! I have been in hospitality for a long time, and I know that I can be nit-picky. I have worked with full grown adults that didn't have this understanding and natural ability to portray the manners and service these young dudes provided us! This was such a pleasant visit. We felt welcomed, were provided great customer service and a product that will keep us coming back. Hubby and I have been going to this place for quite a few years! We often drive about 30/45 minutes to just get ice and then head back to where we live. The shaved ice is delicious! Service is nice and quick, most of the workers there are young adults. The ambiance is very relaxing, except there is no where besides outside to sit anymore. A definite must visit! read more
