Needed a refresher after lunch. First timer here at this Taiwanese tea shop. It's giving traditional and modern feel to the space. You can ordered at the self ordering kiosk, they also have a large printed menu display with cutouts of the drink so you can see everything at once. I really like that. The order: I got the grass jelly drink , it's something I haven't had for a long time since my go to is milk tea. But I'm very happy with my drink. Super refreshing and calming. Their milk tea tasted odd, stale and water downed. It was imbalanced between milk and tea. The ratio was way off in the drink and the oolong tea part tasted old and not fresh. Oolong tea normally tastes either floral, fruity or nutty, roasted when freshly brewed. The one I got tasted neither. When I expressed my concern to the staff, he was professional and understanding, offered to make me a replacement. Unfortunately the second one tasted the same. I think not only the tea quality is questionable but their recipe is not to my liking. Staff confirmed they pour more tea than milk in the drink, causing final product acrid and bitter rather than light and smooth. The better drink at Wangpo, IMO, is the lemon drink product. Unique Taiwanese tea shop with great aesthetic choices and an origin deeply rooted in the founder's childhood of growing up in Taiwan with their family and community in a military village. There's a lot of great back drops here for photos and I do like the tiger logo art they had on a banner towards the back. It looks super cool. Also big shout out to the shop staff who is a Ghibli fan! The window art work is super cute. There's an extensive menu of drinks and options to customize and when we went there were some menu items that were coming soon too. You can order from the kiosks that they have in shop. We got the: 1) Fresh Lime Roselle Drink with Crataegus: -I got this with half sweetness and less ice. -I've never seen the word "Crataegus" before and I don't think I've ever had a drink like this at a boba place either, so I immediately fixated on it and knew it was something that I had to try. -It's just a nice rose tea with some lime to it. Floral but a tad tart. Not bad. 2) Starfruit Juice: -Half sweet and less ice. -I have had starfruit juice before, but I highly misjudged how sour and tart the drink was gong to be with this adjustment. -It was to the point of being unbearably unpleasant (didn't get to try this until later after we had left), but honestly nothing some water can't fix through dilution. 3) Luye Biluochun Green Tea: -0 sweet and less ice. -This is a Taiwanese high mountain tea. -Even with 0 sugar it was a nice refreshing tea with a slight fruit taste to it. -Not bad. I think the next time I drop by the area or if they open more branches...say in SoCal...I am going to try their milk teas instead. read more

Got here about 15 minutes before closing so it was empty, easy to find parking, and quick to get our drinks. We were rushing since they were closing so I decided on the Star Fruit Juice, even though really I was eying the some Black Apple Tea or something. I noticed that the Star Fruit drink mentioned notes of sweet and savory but again, I was rushing, so I just wanted to make a choice as soon as possible. The Star fruit drink definitely felt like they poured a bunch of salt in there. It wasn't bad... but just unexpected for me. Wouldn't order again. The Winter Melon drink was pretty standard. First timer at Wanpo Tea Shop yesterday! My friend had mentioned positive things about this spot, so we went to go check it out. When you walk in, you will go straight to the self-service kiosk to order. You'll order the drinks and wait for your drink to be ready via text. Very easy process. They also have a rewards system, so make sure you opt-in for that after you pay :) As for my drink, I ordered the aiyu jelly lemon tea and added grass jelly as an additional topping. The drink was really refreshing and the jellies were super soft. The best compliment I could give to an asian tea shop is that it was not too sweet (haha). The interior was nice. They have two couches for you to lounge. Felt very clean and relaxing to sip on your tea and enjoy your day out.
