The job was much bigger than I originally thought. Their attitude was outstanding. Each time I asked the to do something was met with "sure, no problem". WOMEN: PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING -- SAFETY CONCERN…read more I am not a former customer of this company -- I am a resident who encountered one of their crews blocking my building's parking access. What happened next is why I'm warning other women in particular before you consider hiring them. On July 8, 2026, a Move For You crew parked their truck in a way that fully blocked vehicle access for two buildings, with zero advance notice to residents. When I politely asked a crew member to move it so I could get into my own lot, one employee -- a young man in a white shirt -- became visibly hostile. After finally moving the truck only enough to leave a narrow gap, he walked directly up to my moving vehicle as I drove through it, closing the space further, and aggressively pumped his chest and head toward my car -- the unmistakable body language of a man trying to intimidate a woman into backing down, or worse. I was driving home from a doctor's appointment with an elderly neighbor in the car, who witnessed this entire exchange. This was not a miscommunication. This was an adult man, employed by this company, choosing to physically intimidate a woman alone in her own parking lot because he was asked to move his own truck. I have photos of him and the vehicle, and I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau, and Chicago Police. If this is how their employees behave when mildly inconvenienced, think carefully before letting them into your home, your building, or anywhere near your family. Women in particular should know exactly what they may be dealing with before booking this company.

They didn't give an actual bill and only cited "materials" as the reason for the price change even though I had everything packed in boxes and I even physically helped them get things in to and out of the truck. They also charge a service fee just to be able to pay them. The 2 guys who showed up and moved my stuff we're nice enough but I absolutely would NOT recommend hiring this company.

We had a very concerning experience with Coffey Bros. Moving and would strongly caution others…read more We were initially quoted approximately $3,600 for our move after providing a detailed inventory multiple times and confirming everything in advance. We were reassured the move would take about 8-9 hours with 4 movers and that the total would remain close to that estimate. This move was from one house to another house within a mile of each other in the same neighborhood! On move day, the crew did conduct an inventory at the beginning but did not communicate any changes or provide an updated estimate. They proceeded to load all of our belongings onto the truck. Only after everything was loaded did they inform us that the total had increased to over $13,000 -- more than four times what we were quoted. At that point, they refused to unload any of our belongings unless we paid in full. Even after we paid approximately $12,000, they still would not begin unloading until additional payment was made. This happened late at night with all of our possessions on their truck, leaving us with no real option. We asked to speak with a supervisor to understand the charges. Although he was placed on speakerphone, he refused to speak with us or explain why the cost had increased so dramatically. Throughout the process, we were repeatedly required to sign documents on a phone that we could not properly review, and they would not explain what we were signing. We were told we had to sign to continue while under pressure due to a strict move-out deadline. The final bill included many concerning charges, including: * Repeated charges for the same items/services (exercise equipment, Peloton, TVs, glass handling) * Significant material charges (e.g., dozens of rolls of tape and excessive wrapping) that we did not authorize and explicitly asked them not to use * Additional services that were not clearly disclosed in advance *They broke our new storm door and our master King Bed Frame. At the end of the move, we were also required to provide photographs of our credit card and identification, which took over an hour. We never agreed to this beforehand and felt extremely uncomfortable given the circumstances. Overall, this experience felt highly pressured and not transparent. The final cost was dramatically higher than what was represented, and we were not given a fair opportunity to review or approve charges before being required to pay. If we did not pay in full, we were not getting our materials. I began to fear for my kids and my safety. I have never been in such a terrifying pressuring situation that I was completely taken advantage of!

He showed up to my house looking like he hasn't slept in days his pants were falling off his ass. He kept dropping my items I caught him multiple times dragging my items across the floor. My original quote was $470, I only had a few furniture items and maybe six boxes. It took them so long to move those items that Daniel thought he was going to charge me $800 afterwards! Lol then after going through my storage I found one of my mirrors to be cracked. Horrible moving company would never use again.

The two guys were new and didn't even know how to move items correctly. caught them multiple on their phones on social media and recording the views to our place. one kept taking smoking breaks as well. I know that moving is a lot so I tried not trip. HOWEVER Daniel (the owner) was notified at which he mentioned he would give a discount. My husband was helping out the whole time because they weren't moving things properly! Not to mention they had to stop and get oils for their truck but we was still charged for the time At the time of payment the discount given was reduced because Daniel was doing the math wrong. The next day I informed the owner about the damages was done to my son headboard and artwork he proceeded to blame my husband and mentioned the discount was for items damaged! (this wasn't possible if I found out after). Not to mention they stole my step ladder!! Daniel didn't handle this matter with accountability however just excuses and pointing the finger . DO NOT HIRE!!!!

Smooth moving experience!…read more Initial contact: There's an easy to use online portal where you can input your inventory and details, sign your contract, etc. The team is also very communicative via text. All the communication is rapid, clear, and convenient. Price: on par with other professional moving companies in the area. Move experience: Seamless. The movers called to say they'd be a few minutes late because of truck issues, but they more than made up for that time by working quickly. They sent 5-6 people to help with our huge move (finally, a company that understands how to staff large moves!), were prepared to handle some very heavy and oddly shaped items, and were extremely proactive and patient with helping me figure out where to put some furniture in smaller spaces in my new house. Vibes: The movers treated our items with care, treated our home with respect, and were still incredibly fast with making the move. I mainly communicated with the manager of the crew, who knew his stuff, was professional, and was patient with my questions and concerns. Overall: great experience (as great as the misery of moving can be, and I've already hired them for a second time for another move!
