We bought a dishwasher in July of 2021, we knew it might take a couple months based on what Warrendale told us do to supply chain, Covid etc. It took 10 months, no communication, even after monthly calls. Then it finally arrived and was just sitting there, although we pushed one guy to finally find it and get it delivered. Hard to get them to call back, they say they will and then they don't . After 10 weeks, the new Bosch dishwasher died. We called them, they said they would call back. The didn't. A follow up call from us led to them telling us to call Bosch. We did, one month before Bosch can fix it. My real fear is that is will have to be replaced, a neighbor had to have their Bosch replaced twice. Wait another year while you do dished by hand. In any case, I would love to patronize a local business, but these guys, who were good 20 years ago, appear to be focused elsewhere now. Can't recommend. read more

After using them for appliances for almost twenty years, I was shocked to see how the resold company has failed in the delivery/service area. They are a bit more expensive than other places, but always helped out with installation. This time (stove and microwave) the service was a shambles, covered up by rude and deceptive staff members. They neglected to schedule delivery for the promised date, neglected to coordinate with their recommended electrician, failed to respond to my phone queries in the midst of the confusion. They finally turned hostile and scolded me for being so rude, without in fact ever being helpful. Their delivery contractors and electrician were entirely blameless and nice people, but the company is not worth dealing with. On April 19, 2018 a Warrendale Appliance service tech came to my condo in Watertown armed with a complete rundown on the model of refrigerator needing service (Jenn-Air) and the nature of the problem needing service (water dispenser wasen't working), which I supplied when making the appointment. He spent 15-20 minutes examining my refrigerator and concluding that he had no idea what was causing the problem but would speak with his colleagues at Warrendale or contact Jenn-Air and get back to me to set up a follow-up appointment to complete the refrigerator service. While I was required to pay $139.95 on the same day as the initial service call, no one from Warrendale ever contacted me again. So two weeks later I sent Warrendale an email inquiring as to the status of the service follow-up, to which I got no reply. After another week I called Warrendale and was given a verbal apology for the lack of responsiveness on their part and was assured someone would get back to me in the next few days. After this call no one from Warrendale ever attempted to contact me. In short, I was forced to pay for no service at all! read more

We went to Warrendale Appliance to have our refrigerator repaired. They outsourced to a guy who came to look at it in April 2021 and charged us for this assessment. And then we never heard back from him - it is now September 2021 our refrigerator is still a problem. When we call Warrendale they keep saying they have spoken to the guy but we still hadn't heard from him until today - he left us a message after two phone calls to Warrendale today. He asked us to tell him the model of the fridge and to tell him what part we needed?!?!! Um, I thought that was the purpose of the consultation we PAID you for. Warrendale and this guy are unprofessional and do not care about customers - it has been FIVE months. The best part is the guy at Warrendale told me to text him today. Hey - here's an idea why don't YOU assign us someone else since it's been five months and NOT blame the customer for your own incompetence and unprofessionalism. BEWARE of this business. read more

Family owned? I think a family member is missing from the staff here. Service has gone WAY down. I switched from Sears to a local 'family owned' business thinking i'd get better service and to support small businesses. I have purchased: high end washer, dryer, dishwasher, 2 refrigerators, BBQ and recently an expensive stove. A LOT of $$$$ here. I paid for a stove and they 'forgot' to order it for delivery on the date they told me. They plugged the stove in but never checked to insure it was level. I was cooking on a stove top that was wobbly. Don't they care that the unit is in solid working condition when they leave? My washer was tossing plastic bits into wash and clogging up my dryer vent (both new appliances!). I called to get service and they said they would order it for me. I called back to ask about service and got no return call. I called again and was told that it was not theirs to repair but the manufacturer. Why wasn't I told this the first time I called? The repairman comes to fix it (very nice man!) and it seems fixed. A month later white plastic bits are appearing in my wash. It's been five weeks and my washer is still not fixed. They assembled myBBQ --and the ignition works intermittently. I called today to talk to a manager about these issues and he didn't introduce himself or give me his title. He did not want to hear about my issues with Warrendale. Customer Service is an art form to keep customers happy and returning. Warrendale could use a few lessons to keep customers returning. Horrible customer experience! We walked in today to explore buying multiple appliances and the store owner Alan had the worst attitude a store owner could ever have. He was smirking because we didn't know as much as he did ( he is supposed to know more anyway), he made racist comments like "how many spices do you even use", he asked my wife not to roll her eyes, when she wasn't and then apologizing after the fact. The man is full of EGO and thinks he knows it all. I would have probably bought stuff here, but the owner's attitude lost him good business. A strange mix here: good prices. a very knowledgeable salesperson, leading to a good sales experience, but very poor, nearly non-existent post-sales service. While the salesman was initially great and offered us to call with any questions, he and his manager (the owner?) were extremely rude when we actually called with a question. Delivery of our appliance was much later than promised (the driver blamed the store for over-promising on the delivery time and the store blamed the driver and even the customer for expecting too much. In response to Allen's comment on my review - he offered me a $50 refund (not $125 as he claims) and a warranty only after he saw my review on Yelp. The refund and warranty came with a catch though...I would need to remove my review from Yelp in order to receive them. I chose not to remove my review and not to receive the refund and warranty. My review remains the same - I do not recommend doing business with Warrendale Appliance. I have purchased an entire set of kitchen appliances, and a washer and dryer set from this store (the purchases were one year apart). The sales people are very blasé, and just don't seem very interested in their customers. I actually wonder why I went back the second time.... I suppose it is because their prices are pretty good, and I happen to like buying local. Their customer service is appalling. When the door on my less-than-one year old dryer started to fall off the machine, I called Warrendale to ask about a service call. They said that they would initiate the call for me. A week later I had heard nothing from a repair person or Warrendale, so I called Warrendale back. There was no record of the call and no service call has been entered in my name. This new guy I spoke to said he would initiate a service call. It week later, no service call. So I went to the manufacturer directly (Electrolux, which hasn't worked out very well either.). Don't buy anything from these guys. Don't buy from the big box stores either, but don't buy from these guys. This should have been a simple transaction- I have a washer and dryer delivered and installed, Warrendale is paid for this service, everyone happy. Instead, Warrendale is paid in full and I have a washer and dryer that is NOT installed. How did that happen? Well, the delivery guys showed up with the washer and dryer, placed it in a confined/defined area, and just as they are walking out the door announce "we didn't install the dryer vent on the dryer" I'm completely taken off guard at this point and confused - hadn't Warrendale agreed to install the washer and dryer? Had I not asked, more than once, in the store and on the phone "do I need to do anything else - will you guys be completely installing the washer, dryer, everything?" It's not a trick question - it's a straight and simple question and it's a great opportunity to say "yes" or "no" and a clear and simple explanation given and all the costs involved so I, the consumer, can make a clear and simple decision as to who I purchase from. Instead, I'm told at the last second, when it's now too late "we don't install dryer vents". So now I have to hire some other guys, $260 dollars later, to do a job that should have been done by Warrendale in the first place. The dryer vent tech, by the way, was in complete awe of the situation - he saw the brand new washer and dryer and said " I don't understand, what am I doing here, they should have installed this dryer vent for you....you have everything, all the parts, you need to have it installed right here" . He'd never seen anything like this in his entire career. The dryer vent tech also informed me that the indoor/outdoor vent had been damaged and he would have to climb up a ladder and "push" it in now - I can assure you it wasn't my husband or I who damaged the vent system - we didn't touch it . It had been working perfectley fine, for years, before the Warrendale Appliance techs damaged it. It does explain why they wouldn't install the dryer vent though, doesn't it? Owner did just send me a check to cover the delivery/installation and the dryer vent tech cost. Although I appreciate the check, it was more of a battle than it should have been to get it and the lack of disclosure upfront is the main reason I would not buy from them again. read more

Our refrigerator broke down, and we wanted to shop locally, so we went to Warrendale Appliance and bought a new refrigerator from Allen. The new refrigerator is nice, was delivered on time, and the price was good, but Allen, who owns the place, needs to improve his customer service skills. We paid to have our old fridge removed, and an extra $25 to remove the one in the basement. However, the delivery guys told me that they would need to come back another time to remove the basement refrigerator because they had to go on to their next delivery. This was not a big problem, but the customer service from Allen was a big problem. When we called to schedule the removal (for the second time), he said that he would call back in 10 minutes. He never called back. The next day, we called again, and complained that the delivery guys should have just taken out the basement fridge when they were here -- it wasn't our fault that they had to move on to their next delivery. Allen actually hung up on me! I called back again, and just asked for a refund of the $25 we had paid. We will just keep the old fridge in the basement as a place to store stuff. All in all, I'm not sure I can depend on these people to offer quality customer service. We did buy a 5-year warranty on our new refrigerator, and Allen offered us no sense of security that they will be easy to deal with, if we do end up having to use the extended warranty they sold us. Disrespectful attitudes toward customers (for even the smallest of problems), such as the one displayed by Allen, compromises the survival of small, family-run establishments. Update: 3/23/2016: I just received a reply to my previous posting written by Warrendale Appliance. Their failed attempt to rewrite the course of events that transpired during our unprofessionally appalling experience as his customers, when added to the preponderance of negative reviews listed on this site (one star ratings) only solidifies the accuracy of my review and it only gives potential new customers a reason to pause and reconsider their patronage of such a disrespectful and unresponsive business. Customer service is awful. I have a receipt for an extended warranty that I bought at the time of purchase. I needed a repair on the refrigerator but they refused to honor their receipt. I went there 20 minutes after the opening time listed on the Web one Saturday morning. It was dark inside and the door was locked, so I knocked. A guy came, unlocked the door, and I said, "Oh, the website said you open at XXX time. (10 am, I think.) " Perfectly pleasantly, I might add. His response? "Yeah. So?" "Have a nice day," I said, and walked away. I've just had a hideous experience with Home Depot over a stove, and I'd have loved to cancel the order and buy from a neighborhood store. My washing machine broke so I decided to buy a washer/dryer set. I was told by the salesman that because of "state law" they cannot hookup the dryer vent, and gave me a card for a company that does this. Over the weekend I was telling this to friends, and they said that was crazy... they bought a dryer recently from Best Buy and they hooked it up without a problem. I called Warrendale back and told them this, and they went into a whole story about home insurance, fire hazard, etc. and that they had called Best Buy and asked them about a specific law and that Best Buy confirmed they do not install. Ok, so I went ahead and called the installation company who wanted $50 to just walk in my home and give me a quote, and they would not quote an installation price range over the phone, so I had no idea if I was dealing with $100 or $300 or more. I decided to call both Home Depot and Best Buy who asked me questions about my existing vent and confirmed they do the whole installation, including the dryer hookup without problems. So at this point, I decided to cancel the order and buy from Best Buy. I called the store and they argued with me that I was making a bad decision, and told me I had to come into the store to process the refund. I asked if he could do this over the phone, and his reply was a flat "absolutely not". When I went into the store, the sales clerk went out back, came back and said the owner was the only one who could process the refund and I'd have to wait. I stood there, waiting for 15 minutes before he came out and processed the refund. I wanted to give my business to a local store, but they just made it too difficult. The sales person was nice enough, but the owner was pretty rude and clearly annoyed that I was challenging the information they gave me, which turned out was incorrect. I bought from Best Buy (with a 10% discount after opening a store card) and they installed both the washer and dryer without problems. read more

I went here to buy a new DVD player after getting zero service at the Watertown Best Buy plus I thought it would be nice to support a small local business. I went in late on a Sunday afternoon. I was the only one in the store and did not feel pressured to leave just because they were about 10 minutes from closing, so that was a plus. I wasn't even sure if they had DVD players since they deal with mostly large appliances (washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc.) but they did have a few. I had a few questions about picture quality, the difference between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, etc. The sales person answered the questions to the best of his knowledge and even admitted that there was some stuff that he didn't know. That kind of honesty goes over well with me. He definitely wasn't pressuring me to buy anything. He might have even not cared if I didn't buy anything, so I didn't know how to feel about that. Anyway, my 6-year old DVD player was crapping out on me, plus I had bought an HD-TV the year before (not from here). Also, it was the tax free weekend. I ended up buying a Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player. I did some research after I bought it and the price I bought it at was comparable to most other places. I got home, plugged it in...and it didn't work. I got the menu screen to come up, but when I put DVDs in (including a brand new one) it couldn't read the disc. I took it back a couple days later and dealt with the same sales person. He took out the broken one and hooked it up to a TV and put one of his DVDs in it and (to my surprise) it didn't work in the store. He brought out a new one, pulled it out, hooked it up, and it worked fine. I haven't tried the new one at home yet, but I expect it will work. Was I super-impressed with this business...no. Would I shop here again? Yes, I would give it another shot. I only wish it was open at 9am instead of 10am, but you can't have everything. read more

I'm sure no one wants details of my miserable experience but here are the basics. Bought washer. Paid for delivery. Delivery guys were great but forgot to attach drainage hose. I hired service company to hook up stackable dryer on top. Went to run washer was able to stop flood. Called Warrendale for help as washer was now boxed in. Guy who claimed to be owner would not let me get a word in edgewise as he made a litany of excuses as to why it wasn't his fault. My fault for not signing sheet with drivers. Drivers fault. Sales guys fault. He was on his private time . . . PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. He never heard the story. Over the years I purchased three wall air conditioners from this store. Each of the units was installed correctly. Two weeks ago I purchased a fourth air conditioner and was given the install date as the next evening. It was installed. However, it is crooked when you look at it from the front. I called and was told by the installer, who is also the store sales manager, that he would have to check with his assistant for a time. He did not have to check when we purchased the ac unit. And there was no call back to set up a date. I called several times and was told that he was not there and I would ask when he would be there. I called again and he was told he was with a customer. No return calls to me. No offer to make it right. And the people who answer seem also don't seem to care. I will not recommend this store again as I have in the past. I would give this place a negative star if it was available. I am big fan of local business but now I can why people buy from Home Depot or corporate places. I purchased a gas stove from and a microwave at the end of January this year. The stove was a floor model that was supposed to be only one year old. When the stove and microwave got delivered they gave me a an old microwave that was missing parts. I called Warrendale Appliance and they did replace it. I had the stove installed and I could smell a gas order from the stove. After getting the stove looked at by a plumber and the appliance repairman from Warrendale appliance store. The appliance repairman showed 2 gas valves were leaking in side the stove. I was very lucky the house didn't blow up !! I called Warrendale Appliance and they said they do not take the stove back and they don't take returns. They provided me with a 1-800 number to call about the stove and see if the manufacturer could do something. After a conversation with Warrendale Appliance they still refused to take it back. They committed fraud. I called the 1-800 and the company said the stove was 3 years old! Not 1 year I have all documentation showing proof. I bought a Fisher & Paykel oven from Warrendale six years ago, but the first time service was required it was a nightmare. They pre-charged me $140, sent a repairman to the wrong address; he then failed to even look at the range but asked for the model number and said he would call me back within 48 hours. Never heard from him again despite repeated calls to the store to complain about lack of service and response. Finally told them to refund the charge (which was a whole other headache that required multiple calls). I called Same Day Service Co. of Woburn. Their technician showed up, fixed my oven within five minutes and charged less than Warrendale did for NOTHING. At first, the man was extremely nice because I had left my credit cards home, and was going away that afternoon. I called, he took my info, and sent me a receipt. Okay, so far so good. Over the phone he said he had given me a special $50 discount, but it wasn't on the slip. I tried calling for 4 days, and he was either not in or did not return my call for several days. He sounded annoyed when I finally reached him and claimed the $50 was already a markdown-- that was the sale price on the outside of the fridge in the store. Um no, he had made it sound like he took another $50 off. Now, delivery -- the men they contract came late and were in a rush. Then the very next day, I realized the sealer on the refrigerator door was not opening correctly. Warrendale completely disavowed any responsibility or interest, and said I had to call Frigidaire service, which took a while. This was a brand new fridge! You might think Warrendale would call back to check, but no. The Frigidaire repair local contact is a whole other story -- at first the man seemed competent, but now he has disappeared, not updating me on my ordered part, and it's been nearly a month! Frigidaire warranty central service does apologize, but nothing is done! So Warrendale's whole system is pretty frustrating. New Owner....What a PLESENT SUPRISE!!! We were in the market for a new dishwasher, after thorough research we decided on a Bosh model. I then searched for a competitive price near by; Warrendale Appliance had it at a good price. I had previously sworn never to shop there again because of several bad experiences with the "Previous Owner", who was a rude old man with obvious anger management issues. Though my mother also had strong negative feelings about this place she suggested checking them out because they were near by; I growled and rolled my eyes exclaiming I hate that place! She agreed but still wanted to go, saying it couldn't hurt...so off we went. After a couple of minutes of looking around the store, a pleasant man asked if he could help us with anything. We told him what we wanted and the price that we had found online and he looked it up for us. We found him to be helpful and polite as he made some suggestions but was in no way pushy. We bought the model that I had researched. As he rang us up my mother and I were chatting about a refrigerator that my brother had recently purchased. The man asked if it was bought there, we said No and told him about our previous experiences at Warrendale Appliance, he didn't seem surprised and said that he was the new owner and that the previous owner no longer worked there. I told the new owner that after 10+ years of avoiding this business and warning others to do the same, that I would give him a good review if all went well and it did....so I'm pleasantly surprised to say we're back. Alan, owner of Warrendale appliance in Waltham/Ma sold me a defective product (A refrigerator). Because the defect didn't show up for 7 months he refuses to accept any responsibility and lies saying I caused the problem which was a bent flange causing the door to completely fall off. I lost all the groceries in the fridge and he flatly refused to reimburse me for them. The customer service here is unconscionably poor. Avoid this appliance store!!! FYI...additional info. because I wrote an unflattering review, altho completely honest, the owner threatened me saying he will be taking legal action against me for slander!!! As I said in a prior review (Yale Appliance) I don't think that I would purchase a toothpick from the fellows at Warrendale Appliance. My parents have done business with them sporadically over the years as homeowners and I thought it would be helpful to go and check them out... especially when I was told that they carried Bosch, my manufacturer of choice to purchase. Upon going into the store, the lone salesman was waiting on a sweet elderly couple out for an afternoon of shopping for their house and joking that any new appliance would outlive them... which was rather cute. Anyhow, the salesman asked me what I was looking for and I told him that I was looking for a Bosch washer and dryer. I told him that I saw that he only had the smaller Axxis line in the store but advertised on the wall was a special deal for $1300 and a good price for a washer and dryer of the make and model. He tells me that those on the wall were sold and not available. Then follows up with the question, "Why do you want to buy Bosch, I'm being nosy". I told him that it is because they are highly effiicient with their water and electricity consumption and do a great job cleaning clothes. He tells me but GE is what he has in stock and was rated the best for the money in Consumer Reports. The manner in which he said it was so arrogant and turned me off immediately because he assumed that I had not read Consumer Reports before walking into his showroom and stands behind his computer monitor telling me that it is going to cost me $1800 to get the stripped down version of the set I wanted in Bosch but GE is the better machine as rated by Consumer Reports. I give a lot of credit to Consumer Reports and think they are right on most subjects but to repeatedly shove their report down my throat when it is knowingly not what I asked for and basically just flashing the report comparison only for his own view and use was really poor service. I bought a wall unit AC from them. I requested installation, gave them my number, they said no problem. I took the AC home. The problem is no one called me back for the install. I called them try to set up a day, they were available one day but I was working. So I called back to reschedule, left them messages, and no call backs from them. After weeks of poor communication on their part, I wanted to return the AC since it's useless to me uninstalled. I called them multiple times spoke to multiple people about installation and got nowhere. They kept saying someone will call you back. No one did. I try to return it, they refused to take it back. They also never gave me a receipt for my purchase! Very poor customer service......will not use them again. read more

Will start by saying that we had two very different experiences. Our in-store experience was great (5 star). Bill was very helpful and worked with us picking out new appliances and agreeing on packaged deal (which was more cost effective than big box appliance stores). Our installation experience was a total nightmare (1 star). We ended up having to change-out one appliance because it wouldn't fit through our exterior door - called the owner and it was taken care of quickly. However on the second installation attempt the crew showed up and essentially refused to attempt the installation even after we assured them the appliance would fit based on the posted measurements. It was incredibly frustrating. We had to call numerous times to ensure they would come again and actually install - on the third attempt it was completed with no push back thanks to Dan. It's unfortunate that the installation and bad attitude of the crew has altered our perception of Warrendale. They clearly need to invest in a better delivery and installation team. read more

Went in there today to look at refrigerators- young girl couldn't lift her head off the counter to help me- are you kidding me?

I purchased a 20 inch Gas Range on October 17th 2016.I picked it up on Wednesday October 19th.I opened up the box on Thursday October 20th and found the Range damaged,it looked like some one dropped in in shipping.Broiler Door would not close. I went right back to the store told them what I found wrong with the Range.Customers service told me they would send me a Repair Person to take a look at it & that he could call me.I never heard from any body.I went back serveral times got the same reply.{Repair Man will call you} While I was talking to the man at the from deck Allan the owner walked by.He heard what I was complaing about ,made a comment you are on your own.Is that a Business Person.? Now I am stuck with a damaged Range,paid $456.86. Horrible customer experience.I have shopped at Warrendale Appliance for over fifty years and this is how you get treated.I am sixty nine years old.They are taking advantage of a older person.Very disappointed.Never Never again will these people see me in their store.I am in Real Estate Business I will all my customers Never Never shop @ Warrendale Appliance. Horrible customers service plus horrible Owner. read more
