Discovered this GEM in 2010/2011 while being here for the NAVY. By far my fav go to place when I need solid good food. It was in my regular rotation. Now whenever I am within 50 miles I come into town to eat here. The service is 5 star. The cleanliness is 5 star. Super friendly people. They love the military. We enjoy Mongolian BBQ and read reviews for Warrior Grill so we decided to try it Friday. The service was prompt and friendly. We just wish there was more to the salad bar. My husband enjoys a salad before his bbq and skipped it altogether this time. I didn't care for the meat choices and wish they had shrimp. I've been here a handful of times and it's been pretty good. the service was decent and the food tastes good. nothing to be like OMG, but the price is great for how much you can get. You pick out what you'd like in your meal and then they cook it for you. I wish this place wasn't so far away from me. Maybe it's a good thing it is otherwise I'd get fat eating here. It's your typical Mongolian BBQ set up, but their sauce mixture definitely gives the food a different taste that's oh, so delicious. The only thing I regret is the fact that I'm a noodle fiend and loaded up on too much noodles. I missed out on more of the delicious meat and veggies. The meal came with soup and I had the hot and sour which was good. My friend had the egg drop which looked good. They also gave us a basket of these sesame bread stick things. I wasn't very impressed by those. They were ok dipped in the soup, but a little dry by itself. The restaurant was spacious. My friends always raved about this place so I had to check out what the hype was about. To be honest, I thought that it was okay. It's your standard Mongolian place and the flavor of the sauces weren't really special. I had a hard time getting the chicken and beef because it was so frozen and was stuck. Food is delicious but I am not impressed with their no "doggy bag" policy. If you do not eat all of your food they will not allow you to take it with you. I.e. I did not eat my rice that I paid for with my meal and they said that I couldn't take it with me but that they do have containers just for take out. So essentially i can spend $15 for take out and get the rice and sesame bread that came with my meal or I can spend $15 eat one plate of food/ be too full to eat everything with my meal and not be able to take it with me. Seriously?! I can understand if I was asking to get another turn at the buffet but I'm not I'm just asking for what I paid for. I won't eat here again. read more

This restaurant is no more all you can eat they have changed their policy to charging you per bowl that you prepare to be grilled. No other Mongolia restaurant does this they have charged you one price for all you can eat. They know that people use two bowls to prepare the meal they want because you can't put it all in one bowl. I recommend people do not eat at this restaurant anymore so they will get the message. I am boycotting this restaurant and will never eat there again. read more

Best spot in VB for Mongolian, buffet is well maintained, food is always fresh and looks good. It is also very clean, unlike most of the other places here. This is the best Mongolian place in Virginia Beach. The service is friendly and the food is consistent. This is exactly what I want when I crave Mongolian. There is no sushi bar, there are no crazy gimmicks. The sauce is basic and standard. No crazy sweet gloppy sauces, just the normal mongo standards. I love this place and come here very often. I have been to a few other Mongolian grills but this one is by far my favorite. I have been time and time again, and I always love Warrior Grill. Walking in depending on business the grill is either hissing or the restaurant is at a low hum. So you sit down at a table and a waitress comes along asks you what kind of soup you want I recommend Egg Drop soup, she will also get your order for a drink and then you are free to go after the buffet style grill. Grab a bowl, get yourself your noodles and what ever toppings you want. They have a wide variety of both meat and vegetables. Tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, onions and zucchini among many other vegetables are available to you form there you move on to meat of which they have chicken (light and dark meat), beef, crab, pork and lamb(dinner only). Moving along down the bar to the next station you find the sauces. I take one scoop of each sauce aside from the chili sauce ( I'm kind of a wimp about spicy food) The different sauces include but are not limited to: Chili water, sugar water, lemon water, wine, garlic water, Mongolian sauce and oyster sauce. Once you choose your sauces and waters you hand your bowl over to the cook and they cook it for you on a circular grill. You can tip them if you like. While you are waiting for your food to cook you can construct a salad at the salad bar. Once your food is cooked and you've put a salad together if you chose to do so you return to your table to eat. The silverware includes chopsticks as well as forks, knives and spoons, so don't worry about not having the utensils you want. On the table there is soy sauce as well as salt and pepper. The waitress should bring you sesame bread which is just wonderful as well as a bowl of steamed white rice. When you finish your food, a plate of cookies will be brought to your table a mix of chocolate chip and white chocolate cookies which are pretty good and then from there you head to the register to pay your bill. Food was good as always but for some reason for the first time they overcharged me and my whole group. She tried to redeem herself with some overcooked hard cookies. During the transaction of one of the last people in my group she proceeded to laugh in the background as we try to figure out what we were charged for. She put her mistake from my bill on his bill and refused to show us exactly what they were charging us for. Food and service were ok but I was a little surprised to go to a restaurant in June and have them still having their Christmas decorations up. They still had these red bell things on the windows and red bows over all of the light fixtures that had a significant layer of dust on them. The Mongolian buffet itself it probably the same as anywhere you go. The two things I really did like we're the sesame things they give you when you first sit down and the hot and sour soup. Value: 4 Customer Service: 1 Food Quality: 1 OVERVIEW: Avoid eating at this location. If you MUST eat in this area, then try Yummy Sushi next door, or the "Burrito" place. Eating here will just upset you on how much money you wasted. VALUE: $9 Bowl of whatever they have to choose from, make it your way, and it's unlimited. So if you can eat $9 worth of lamb (only available with dinner), pork, chicken, imitation crab, beef, and standard vegetables go for it, otherwise avoid anything on the menu. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The staff consisted of 2 waitresses, 3 cooks, and a cashier/hostess. When we walked in the cashier/hostess just went and put silverware on a table by the window and walked off. Never said anything to us such as "welcome, how many?, would you like a booth or table?", nothing at all. So we stayed there by the door looking like idiots for a few minutes before one of the chefs pointed at us, then pointed to the table where the cashier/hostess placed the silverware and paper napkins. Once we sat down, one of the cooks came from the kitchen and tapped a waitress on the shoulder and pointed at us while she was vacuuming the booths across from us. She asked if we know what we wanted to drink then brought us water and said "help yourself for your food". She placed 3 glasses of water on our table then went back to vacuuming the booths. We finished our 1st round of bowls and placed the used dishes on the table next to us since she didn't come to clear the table. All 3 of us had finished our drinks as well and she never came to refill them. So we went for our 2nd round to the bar/grill. Upon our return we still didn't have our drinks refilled so I went and grabbed the picture of water and filled them up myself. We completed the 2nd bowl and then she brought over a bowl of rice for the 3 of us to share, and some type of flatbread with sesame seeds on it. Not sure if this stuff was supposed to go to us at the beginning of the meal, or when we were finished. At this point we were finished with having to wait on ourselves and just left. Upon leaving the cashier/hostess grabs a dozen small chocolate chip cookies and places them into a sandwich bag to give us on the way out. Doesn't say ONE word to us at all. I'm beginning to think that they may not speak english in this place..Imagine that, a Korean restaurant and no one speaks english... So I put the cashier to the test as I am pretty sure she speaks the international language of MONEY!! I asked her what the preferred method of payment is, Cash? American Express? Checks? Debit Card? Ahh haahh, she does speak english!! Quiet fluently as well!! Several flaws I found here that could have improved the customer service aspect tremendously. (1) Greet/Speak to us when we walked in, (2) Instead of just looking at us eat the entire time come over and pour us some water and/or clear the table of plates when you seen it needed to be done. If you can grab cookies with your bare hands while operating a cash register/hostess/bar area, then you can fill up some water and take some plates away. (3) If you are going to have your waitresses doing dirty work while waiting on tables, then make it mandatory that they clean their hands prior to serving customers drinks, food, etc.... HELLO HEALTH DEPARTMENT VISIT..(4) Customers don't like to be pointed at like what happened to us by the cooks when they informed us where to sit. FOOD QUALITY: You can tell by the fat content in the meat, the wilted lettuce on the salad bar, and other vegetables that the food served here is NOWHERE near even medium grade food. read more

Went out with a large group. We travel a lot together and it seems we always find a mongolian place (usually a BD's, which we have tried in Kentucky as well as Ohio). While this one did not have as extensive a selection as BD's, most in our party liked it because it did seem clean and maintained. Many yelpers complained about the meat being frozen. There were mixed feelings in our group about this, but understanding that freezing is a way to kill bacteria, all in all we were ok with the meat being frozen. It was a reasonable price for AYCE (many places are "one trip only"), and we thought the sesame bread, soup and cookies were a very nice touch. We were also happy to see the salad bar, while very basic in its offerings, was good for an additional option. One of the kids in our party is not that adventurous of an eater, so we were happy for the standard kids menu so he could have chicken fingers, fries, etc. The service was fine. We ate here when on vacation in Virginia Beach last month. We are vegetarian , so it was nice to have this as an option. The food tasted good and the place looked clean. I would have liked to have had tofu as an option for a protein add-in since I am vegetarian. Would have also liked more sauce and vegetable options. Then again, I think I may be spoiled as we have HuHot Mongolian Grill where we live in Colorado and they have like 4 types of noodles, 27 different sauces, 25 vegetables, every kind of meat and seafood and tofu to choose from and it's all you can eat in addition to a regular menu you can order from. read more

Food here is just ok nothing great and not bad. You get a choice of soup egg drop or hot and sour all three of us at my table went with the hot and sour it was better then most places I have been the lately. They bring sesame bread and steamed rice to go with the BBQ it hot and fresh at least ours was. The BBQ itself was like I said ok. Today the tomatoes just didn't look that great and the green onion was cut just way to big for our taste. I like that here you can add the amounts of sauces to make it the way you like it unlike some places where the cook does it. I like to use 2 Garlic Water and 4 Chili Oils. Anyway at the end of the meal they bring out a few cookies Chocolate Chip and another kind not sure what they were.
