Former roommate used to work here, therefore my review may be biased. She told me that their pho soup is cooked with a special recipe using beef bones for a really long time, which is why they are very flavorful. She also told me that their butter fish is really good. (I've tried one bite from her order, and agree.) They prepare those to order, and takes 15 minutes to cook. Therefore it's best if you call ahead and order. By the time you get there, it will be ready for you to take out or dine in. More often than not, my friend and I usually end up coming here when both of us are too lazy to cook for dinner on a week night. It's not very far from where we live, the price is very affordable and food is definitely more healthy than some of the other places at this price point. My friends normally get the spicy beef noodles, but I have a very low tolerance for hotness and instead order one of their phos. I've ordered their teriyaki chicken once, pretty sure Sarku in the mall has better quality and bigger portion size. The phos were filling for me but nothing special, hence the three stars. If I need a quick Asian fix of soupy entrees and am not willing to spend lots of money or drive very far, this is the place I would go. read more

This is usually my go to for fast but filling and great Japanese food. However, my last visit, I order steak and shrimp Hibachi with extra veggies. My shrimp tasted like the were bad and had sat out for a while. Also my broccoli were noticebly old. As I examined them I could clearly see brown at the bottom where the stems were cut. Grabbed lunch here today. The outside of the place doesn't do this place justice. It is basic and you order at the counter, the staff was very nice and friendly and make recommendations on the menu. Oh yeah, i am now a fan of this place. From looking at the pictures of the teriyaki fish and fried rice, it had my mouth drooling. I came here as quickly as possible. My stomach was eating itself. My Fiance and I come to this place several times a month, its one of our "take home" dinner spots. And we have never had an issue with price, service, or quality. EXCEPT for today; we had gotten home and that's where I found the hair; I was immediately disappointed; one, because now I can't enjoy my food, as well as we live about 15 miles from where the restaurant is and would be a 30-45 min drive. So I called them up to find a solution to this issue. However I was only met with push-back a lack of empathy and care. The first and only option that was provided was that I bring the food back and it would be "replaced" I explained how this is a HUGE inconvenience and that it would be a 30-45 min drive for me, at which they responded, "So", that; that's the ONLY way they can fix the issue. I explained that I didn't feel as if this was fair, and that I think the drive and inconvenience should be taken into consideration she stated "its not done that way" and simply disconnected the call. I love this place for just about every reason you can love a place like this. I love the cold spring rolls, the teriyaki chicken, the hibachi chicken and the hibachi shrimp. Usually I will order the hibachi chicken with a side of broccoli- but last time I was in there the lady behind the counter asked if I wanted the broccoli cooked into the whole thing, and that was EVEN better! They have great portions, on a good day I can eat all the meat and most of the rice that comes in an order. When I order the extra broccoli I end up taking home enough for another meal, which is fine by me. I have also ordered the pho with no meat in the past. It is flavorful and a HUGE portion for reasonable prices with meat but practically free ($2.25 I believe) for the no meat version. I loved every bit of it. Another note, for people who are particular about it, they have GREAT sweet tea, almost always. I have recently given up caffeine but every time I go in there I still think about ordering a sweet tea before I remember I'm off of it. The pho soup was good, but what made this food stop an awful experience was the terrible customer service. My sister ordered two kid's meals on the phone and when we got there they would not give us what we had ordered. They tried to say kid's meals were eat in only. They were more interested in keeping their ten dollars than making the problem right for the customer. The staff was rude and uncompromising. I went here for lunch and the food was really good. Since it was during the lunch rush, it took a bit for us to get our food. There was only one person working at the front counter and she was responsible for taking orders, refilling people's drinks, and cleaning the tables. They definitely need more employees. This place is listed as a Vietnamese restaurant but I thought they had more items on their menu that was Japanese. The Vietnamese food they had was different flavors of pho. All the Japanese food they offer is a variety of hibachi style dishes. We tried the typical chicken hibachi and it was tasty. Their spring rolls are also very delicious. My wife just picked up Vietnamese bun from Wasabe Express, and it was barely edible. They used the most foul tasting shrimp I've ever had from a restaurant, and I can imagine that this shrimp is equally as disgusting in their Japanese dishes. Top this off with the fact that my wife was there for twenty extra minutes beyond her call's estimate, and I would say that this is one of the worst multi-Asian fare restaurants in Augusta.
