Excellent service. Food is always out quickly. Sushi is excellent. Beautiful & tasty. HUGE entree portions. I ordered the Pad Thai w/ chicken which I surprisingly enjoyed. I usually order sushi, but I wanted to try something new. I asked for medium heat and it was SPICY! Lucky for me I can take the heat. Did I mention HUGE portions? I could have easily fed 2 kids and a hungry mother with 1 entree. Just saying. I barely put a dent in it. My husband always orders the General Tso chicken. It comes with rice and steamed broccoli. I recommend you share an entree if you're not too hungry. The chicken was crispy with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy glaze. He loves it. The ambience is mellow and a little quiet. Unhappy waiter last night. Our family loves the food here! However, last night was our first "uncomfortable" time dining here. This waiter did not greet us with a smile like the other staff does, and when he asked what we wanted to drink, he explained, very sternly, that they might not have sweet tea, but we could add sugar, and that was fine, but kids said "he's mad." He continued to wait on us, but didn't see him smile once. We left him a good tip, in spite of his lack of friendliness and warmth, and hope to see a better attitude next time. read more

I don't think I've had a waitress be so rude to me before. I called in to see if they were still delivering [It was about 8:30PM]... At first I asked if they were still serving the bento Boxes, and they said that they weren't because their sushi chef left already? Their menu says that they are open from 11-10 on Monday-Thursday. So then I ask if they're still delivering... And she tells me that they don't even have a delivery guy hired... Now, I know I have gotten food delivered from Wasabi before, so this was a flat out lie. She even went as far as to say they have NEVER delivered. I will provide a link below with the menu I got from them a month or so ago. So, then I asked to speak with her manager, and she puts the phone down... And comes back and I swear, it's the same person! I KNOW For a fact that the manager is a man! Not only that, she was extremely rude! She didn't say sorry, or anything. I had the teriyaki chicken and two different rolls. The chicken was overcooked and not very tasty. The rolls were terrible. My husband ordered the orange beef, which he said one piece of meat tasted like it was bad...as in rotten. My tea had a weird taste and when I asked the waiter about the kind of tea they used he acted like it was the most stupid question ever asked. After getting our huge bill for bad food, we were just hoping to not get sick at home. My husband had a direct view of the kitchen and got to see how dirty it was. We won't be coming back. The staff was not familiar with the menu and had to go ask the kitchen at least 4 times on what we asked. The wait was long and we made sure we were the first poeple there prior to lunch. (11:05) Soup was bad and did not get our food until close to 11:45. Overall maybe in time this place will be were it needs to be, But it will need good management. Nope. Should have paid attention to the 1 star ratings. Yes, the glassware, dishes, even napkins are filthy. I've eaten at some pretty shady spots, so that didn't deter me from the cooked food. Thought we would save the sushi for our next trip after our trial run. Egg rolls - This was the best dish we had. 2 stars. Pad Thai - HUGE portion of blandness. Not even a Minnesotan would call this spicy and they think ketchup warrants hot. Pan Fried Noodles with Beef - Yakisoba - The veggies were mush. Noddles were eh. Edible blandness after I pulled out all of the "beef". I kept thinking that either this wasn't beef or it was all fat. Hubby took a bite and he thinks they coated it in corn starch to thicken it up. It was kind of like a corn starch batter. Gross. Couldn't eat the meat. Beer - Good Wine - Filthy glass. After I cleaned the outside, I figured the alcohol in the wine would kill anything that I couldn't remove with the second napkin I grabbed. The first had something black and hard attached to it. I wanted nothing more to do with that napkin. Tasted good. Service - From the standpoint that they were very friendly, always right there, and were prompt, they were great. From the standpoint that they were not surprised that I was cleaning or pulling out the meat, I would expect more. However, taking my wine glass away before I was finished was perhaps the worst part. UPDATE: Love this place but saw a roach walking around. That kind of does it for us...(Old Review)..We have always loved this place and had not been in a while. When we saw the ratings we thought people were picky. However, tonight we ordered for Mother's Day and were not happy with what we got. It was a large order and there was not one thing that was "amazing" as it had been in the past. The food was bland and things that were to be fried we still icky on the inside. Orange chicken lost its orange taste.... No, POW in the Kung Pao.We are so sad that Wasabi has changed. We use to love this place. Thankfully as Georgetown grows so does better food options. Whatever cuts or changes this place made has reflected in the overall ratings and we will no longer be eating here. read more

Not only was the service poor, the food was salty, poor quality served with dirty utensils. I told the manager that we were unsatisfied, with the food quality for one( wontons were undercooked and filled with fat), sushi that tasted /smelled old, and the fact that we had to get up and find our server twice. He said, what was bad about the food? And then a oh well, im sorry. Would not recommend this place, and the lack of concern means that is what is being put into your meal. read more

I ordered Shrimp Tempura to go and got home to see that there was no shrimp in the container. I called to get a refund and they wouldn't unless I drove all the way back to the store to prove there was no shrimp. Soup was good, but the customer service was bad. I will not return. read more

Great place. We had a spicy girl, volcano roll, and two wonton soups. Everything was fantastic. We weren't offered a wine list and didn't see alcohol on menu so I don't think they have it. But we will go back for best sushi I've had so far in town! read more

Wasabi is definitely my new favorite spot! The waitstaff is awesome - always friendly and attentive. I went there the first day it opened. I go back every now and then, mainly eat Sushi, I did try a few Chinese dishes, those are American Chinese taste which I don't care much about. People working at the table have changed completely since opening, now mainly the owner and his family waiting at the table. The service is good, we are the regular customer, if we want something special and really good, I just ask for the owner and let him decide for us. Those food are turned out good, over the yrs we eat all over the sushi places in round rock and Austin, this is the cheapest and nearest from home, eventually we stick to Wasabi if we want sushi. It is way better than buying HEB sushi and it is not more expensive than HEB in Georgetown and much fresher, and a lot more varieties. It is clean and tidy, I went into the kitchen once by accident. read more

On the whole, this place serves up some decent sushi rolls and they have an excellent selection. Occasionally the service is on the slow side, and not because of the time it takes to prepare the sushi, but I will say the manager is friendly and takes his time to make sure customers are happy. We had a great time here last week, young inexperienced servers actually made for wonderfully attentive service, we had the sushi chef prepare whatever he wanted for our dinner and all of the rolls and sashimi were fresh and delicious. I relished in the tastiness of the ahi tuna tataki-- was so sad when I finished it and almost ordered another! Who knew we could have such a great little spot next to Sonic in Georgetown? This place has some growing up to do, too. The food coming out of the kitchen & off the sushi bar was great, but the front of the house needs work. The wait staff was way too eager & way to inexperienced . . . she made us uncomfortable. We were seated way in back with a view of the service area & the extra chairs & kiddie boosters . . . the kind of stuff that needs to be hidden if you want your restaurant to have even a little class. A few things about the food was that they brought me a salad, it had this dressing that looked like oatmeal and tasted bad. The first time I went here was a couple years ago. The fried rice was just soy sauce soaked and it was terrible. I decided to try it again yesterday because I was desperate for sushi. Bad decision. One of our favorite sushi places in town! The staff, Desiree in particular, and owner Danny are friendly, courteous and more than attentive to our needs. I would consider us regulars and we have our tried and true favorites (sashimi, soft shell crab, soups) along with specials that are unique. I recently purchased the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp, I had high hopes because their sushi is really great, but for the hibachi not so much. the chicken and shrimp hibachi was bland, and I didn't care for it. the salad needs a better dressing. the dressing they're currently using is basically water. Wasabi offers decent pan-Asian cuisine (mostly Chinese and Japanese, but with a handful of other things like pad thai in the mix) at reasonable prices. If I was in Austin I would give it 3 stars but it gets an extra star for convenience / uniqueness - there really isn't anywhere within 15-20 miles that offers decent sushi so they definitely have a market advantage here in Georgetown. In general, the Japanese foods (hibachi grilled meats/vegetables, sushi/sashimi) are much better than the Chinese foods - I actually think that the restaurant would benefit from having a little more focus and paring down their menu somewhat. Service is very friendly and attentive although the waitstaff (as a few other reviewers have noted) doesn't seem to know the menu very well. Recommend: any sushi rolls, hot-and-sour soup, hibachi grill (note that this is easily enough food for 2 adults) Don't Recommend: chinese foods, pad thai read more

Love the food & the service. Have an issue with the wait staff not receiving tips that they work for. Read a review, on another site, that said, "When we asked about how the tips were done, split amount staff, everyone keeps their own etc, she hesitantly but more discreetly replied 'I'm not supposed to say this but ALL TIPS GO TO THE HOUSE, they don't receive ANY!!". We showed our waiter that review and he looked around, to be sure the manager wasn't in hearing/seeing range and he discreetly nodded his head and said a quick, "Yes, that's correct". We were able to discreetly slip our staff a cash tip. So, if you go here, please don't leave a tip on your card or cash on the table, your wait person won't receive it. I will admit we did not get a chance to ask if they get paid minimum wage or above because of not getting the tips. Maybe we'll find out one day. read more

Frankly the service is weird. The kids working there are nice but have no experience and kind of mill around a lot. No formal greeting from them, just, "so I'm gunna take your order now" and "so are you done or are you gunna order anything else". The food was mediocre and kind of pricey for the cost. Great food and consistently efficient service. The owners and sushi chef are amazing and understand customer service and the importance of quality food. We average at last one meal per week here because we know it will always be good.
