They were extremely accommodating and super nice. We got a pound of dry scallops and a dozen Tucker's Island oysters (Barnegat Bay South Jersey) and a dozen Wellfleets for a fantastic price. The Jersey oysters were small but sweet and succulent, the Wellfleets were massive, meaty and whack you with bracing brine on the finish. Amazing, super fresh. We cooked up the scallops and they were sweet and the next best thing to fresh caught. What a find this place is!

The issue is that the sandwiches sound delicious on the menu but the reality doesn't live up to my expectations. My husband order some spicy Mexican inspired fried catfish sandwich for himself and a fried scallop sandwich for me. The sandwiches presented well but both lacked flavor, salt & seasoning in general. Even the soups; one was supposed to be red lentils but looked mostly yellow lentil and again desperately needed salt for one and would have been improved with additional seasonings. Whoever made the manhattan clam chowder got the recipe correct. It was the only thing that was tasty without needing alteration. The owner is nice and after my first poor review offered to make me a replacement but I didn't take him up on the offer. If they only get it right while someone is watching over their shoulder, what's the point. It is NOT a cheap lunch so to be disappointed is a real bummer. Better to stick with the raw seafood items or some prepackaged items (hummus & great flatbreads).
