I have no idea if it is this branch of Washington Gas that deals with my account, but the company in general has the worst customer service you can find. I have been left on hold twice for an hour and was eventually disconnected. I wrote an email online to try and get through with still no response. Finally, I filled out a survey they sent me on how I felt about their customer service (can you believe it!?!?!). This should not have any stars to start. The Washington Gas company has really taken more time out of my life than is ever necessary. The customer service is a joke, and the "supervisors"? What a ridiculous title for someone that is as incompetent in CS (customer service) field as my 8 month old niece. Evidently their IT department needs to start paying more, offering more benefits, or hire better talent because all of my issues are with billing updates and over-charges. I have been over charged in the passed with them and it took nearly a month to get a reimbursement check from them. Mind you I had been over paying for 3 months with out a notification. Now, my fiancé and I opened a joint account and switched ALL of our automatic withdraws for bills to come out of this account. The ONLY company that seemed to have a problem making sure this happened was yes, yours truly, Washington Gas. They tried to take our bill out of my old account... No money is in there... Was charged a 32.50$ return check fee by my bank. After nearly SIX hours of back and forth with my bank and Washington Gas (because they said it was my banks fault) I was told by a "supervisor" "Jake" that if I had documentation sent to them they would review it and credit my account. I got the documentation sent to my email and I called "Jake" back. He replied, "oh no, we need it faxed from them" (my bank). He then noted that he would be taking care of this and call me "as soon as he gets the fax". 2+ hours go by and I called Washington gas, tried to ask for a "supervisor" and of course had to go through the loops just to get to talk to one. I talked to "Charles", the ONLY person I talked to who understood how angry I was, said he fixed the problem and the $32.50 would be credited to my account. FIVE days later it happened again. Literally, EVERYTHING. Talked to a woman named "JUNE" who gave me the same run around with the fax. Told me she would call as soon as she received it. My bank told me they sent it at 9:45AM and I ended up having to call at 4:00PM! This is absurd! Now instead of paying Washington Gas for my gas usage I'm paying my bank MORE than what my gas bill ever was! Because this company can't get their stuff together. Not to mention, there is NO place to submit a complaint anywhere on their website. SO I'm submitting it here on Yelp. Sorry for my venting but, seriously??? Get it together WASHINGTON GAS! If I could give negative stars, I WOULD. I have had this company ONE MONTH and am already way past fed up. For starters, my last name has O' as part of it (Irish last name). So what does the online profile say? My first name (space) O (space) the rest of my last name. Like O is a middle initial. I have contacted them TWICE to fix this, they say there's no problem. BUT when I tried to pay my first bill (which is another mess, see below) via credit card the display name was "My-first-name The-rest-of-my-last-name", no O anywhere. They LOCKED ME OUT OF MY ONLINE ACCOUNT when I had the RIGHT password. I don't think I have a say in my gas provider as I live in an apartment complex, but if you have a choice, DO NOT USE WASHINGTON GAS. I submitted payment 7/29 for 7/31 bill. Will be processed "7/31 or shortly thereafter" OK, I understand, I paid on a Saturday, but...what? "Or shortly thereafter?" WHO DOES THAT?!?!?! it was processed 8/1...probably ON PURPOSE because the payment was due 7/31. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS. read more

I went on line to pay my bill on line and the Washington gas website said you have enter in invalid email address the same email address that I have used for the past two years so I called the Wash Gas company and the gentlemen in the Philipines had to clear out all my information so I could reregister again which I did and then it said your account number does not match your house number we have on file. I ended up figuring it out myself to try to pay my bill on line I did and it worked. I called back Washington gas and spoke with the supervisor and told him how bad your customer service is and told him that the representatives does not know what to do when it comes to helping a customer over the phone with the website their website they are clueless. You cannot get any reps or supervisor in the U.S. at all everything has been out sourced to the philipines they are the only ones that can transfer you back to the U.S. to speak with a supervisor. Hello you need to bring the Washington gas back to the United States and get people that knows what they are doing. read more
