The restaurant is decorated in a causal dining ascetic. It has a couple of booth seats and a few seats at the bar with many other regular height tables. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and they have some patio seats. Being on the second floor, there is a pretty large wind tunnel thats forms that can make sitting there/ lining up very windy. We went during the 5th anniversary so the kitchen was working at full sleep. So all the food came very quick. We can seat that everything is made with detail as that pasta and sauces were weighted out. Overall, the pasta had a good texture and the sauce was flavourful. The dishes didnt have that much protein on it. But overall and enjoyable meal

There was a bit of a wait for six of us on Valentine's Day but it wasn't bad at all. And it was totally worth it. Every dish was delicious! I love Japanese and Italian food so this was perfect. My favorites were the squid ink and the salmon fettuccine. Both were divine! There was also a lobster pasta special that was great too. Their drink menu was also great. I got a yuzu mocktail and added 2 oz of shochu, that was tasty too. It's quite small inside and in an odd location away from the hustle and bustle of Richmond, but well worth the visit. Service was also excellent and accommodating.

Arrived with a few minutes to spare for our reservation on a Friday. They did say that they can hold the reso for 15 min before giving it away. The server had later said they recommend making a reservation at least 2 to 3 days in advance or best is at least a week in advance for the weekend slots. There was a line formed at the entrance but no one seemed to have tended to them. I asked a couple how long they had been waiting and they said about 10 minutes. I peeked in and saw there were tabled empty for a bit before getting cleaned but I learned later that there was a trainee server on shift today. Plenty of parking in the lot, or along the road by a long path by the water. The restaurant only seems accessible by stairs or maybe the elevators were on the other side of the building which I didn't check out further. There are two tables set up outside so in a warmer day , would be great to eat outside. You also get a good overlook of the water and with the sun setting is chef's kiss ! We got seated and ordered shortly after, and the food did not take too long to come despite it being very busy. I had heard that the wait for the food could take long but it was not bad at all. We tried the crab croquette and the tomato sauce was very flavourful and the croquette was nicely crispy outside and creamy inside and lots of crab! They are a tad smaller than what I'd expect for $8 each but seafood costs I suppose ! Usually I like a bit more texture in the filling of croquette but these were just all the soft creamy crab filling. However, still tasty. My friend got the uni cream pasta ( top recommended) and I got the rose crab spaghetti. I reeeeallly liked mine after reflecting on it. Perfect flavour depth, perfectly al dente pasta when it first came , just the best chew and reasonable crab amount. The true test is having the leftovers the next day - just heated in the microwave it was even better. If the croquette gave me the same feelings , this would have been a 5 star review for me ! Plus I'd like to try more dishes like the mentaiko carbonara etc. I tried a bit of the uni cream pasta and thought it was just okay - but I typically am not a big fan of uni. They also had fun colorful mocktails and a specials board with various other dishes for around $30/$32. Would be back for sure ! Seems like in May they have their anniversary celebrations with promos.

Finally got to try this place on this visit! Rose crab was my fave but Uni pasta was good, too. Uni pasta was on the lighter side. Beef brisket was also good. Their pasta was perfectly cooked. Tiramisu was very light & just ok. Service was decent. Can't wait to return!

This is a Japanese owned pasta restaurant I heard for long but I was hesitated to try because people said the dishes were pricy. However, I also heard about people giving very comments about this restaurant so I decided to go with a friend for lunch. This restaurant locates at the end of the river road in Richmond. If you are driving, you cannot get in there via Gilbert Road. You must go there from Cambie Road. There are plenty of packing lots and some stairs to climb, it may be slightly inconvenient to go there by public transport. I ordered the Mentaiko carbonara and a cup of latte. Without waiting for so long, they served the foods. Looking at the scope of mentaiko on the top, it was satisfying. Usually the mentaiko carbonara I had in other restaurants are mixed with the sauce and small portion. So I could taste the mentaiko in my every bite. The carbonara was saucy and the spaghetti was al dente. It was enjoyable and delicious. The latte was served in a small cup and probably prepared by a coffee machine. The size was small and foamy. I'd prefer a larger cup. The biscuit was crunchy, as a good companion to the latte. We were sitting by the window on the high chairs. A nice view of the shore could be seen. The price was slightly more expensive than a similar restaurant but I would say the quality makes it worthy. Worth mentioning they offer lucky wheel game so you can possibly get a 20% discount for the next meal. That can be a good deal for a family.

+.5 for service This was my final stop before flying back to Winnipeg. I asked my friend for something fusion-y for dinner that I can't get back home, and we stumbled onto this place in the second floor of an unassuming office building. The menu items were definitely interesting, mixing up Italian with Japanese cuisine. I would never have imagined having salmon roe with my spaghetti, but here I am! I had one of their specials that night, which was the fettucine mentaiko salmon cream. It was very uniquely presented, with pieces of smoked salmon, shredded salmon, ikura salmon roe, and a rose sauce. It was very delicious, and you can tell the pasta was handmade. Service was excellent here, and it was certainly a great way to end my short Vancouver trip.

Wasuta Pasta has been around for some time now but I hesitated on coming due to mixed reviews from friends. However, I must start and say I am glad I came to try this hidden gem. The restaurant is tucked away on River Road and although no other restaurants sit around it, it is a wonderful place as it is located on the second floor and perfect for golden hour sunset viewing. Since my friend recommended we go here for dinner, I decided to finally give this place a chance. We came in on a Tuesday with no reservation and were sat near the window at high top seating. The server came over promptly and explained the different menu items and features. We settled on sharing the aburi duck slices, scallop uni cream pasta, and the crab rose feature pasta. The duck was well-cooked and smoky in flavour which paired well with the sauce. It was however, a bit chewy for my liking. The uni scallop pasta was cooked wonderfully al dente and overall delightful. However, we yearned for a bit more uni flavour and there were only 2 real Hokkaido scallops on the dish. This was understandable for the price but we expected a bit more. However, the rose crab pasta was amazing! The portion was amazing and there was a lot of crab to go around. Although this was a feature, I mentioned to the wait staff that I would love to see this as a regular dish on the menu. Finally, for dessert, the hojicha tiramisu was a wonderful finish. It was not too sweet with the generous sprinkle of hojicha powder on top. The servers were all very attentive and glasses were always filled. There is also a generous selection of drinks that I would love to return and try. Overall, I would definitely return again.

Popular spot! But lines move quick. Great sunset view from this second floor location. Don't get fooled by the office park context. Inventive pastas. The black garlic fettuccine was perfection. Would try again!

Fusion flavours that'll delight your tastebuds! The selection is just right (enough variety) to not overwhelm the patrons. The dishes are freshly made, the staff were wonderful and friendly, plenty of parking -- what more could you ask for! Do make reservations ahead of time as this place gets busy, especially on weekends, but if you don't, come early so you don't end up waiting a long time for a table. We walked in at 5:20pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. We tried the smoked salmon salad with arugula. This was perfectly dressed and the portion was just right for 2 people to share. Also shared the scallop carpaccio -- fresh and delicious! For our mains, we tried the recommended mentaiko carbonara and the scallop fettuccine. Both really good! We didn't try the desserts but I would definitely come back to try other dishes next time.

I am a huge fan of Japanese Italian dishes since I grew up in Tokyo where the best of this fusion thrives so whenever I see it in any town, we must try! And try we did. Wasuta Pasta despite the drive to and arrival confusion of the instill appearances is every bit as delightful as I hoped. If you feel you may be accidentally in the wrong place due to the parking lot, fear not, this cute restaurant is upstairs and the restaurant and balcony patio is charming, cozy and clean. We tried three appetizers (wagyu beef carpaccio, scallop carpaccio and burrito prosciutto) and three spaghettis (one with squid ink dried shrimp and egg, the special rose crab and the uni scallop) - everything was delicious. My favorites were the wagyu beef carpaccio, burrata prosciutto, rose crab and uni scallop) but everything is worth a try depending on what you like! We also had the yuzu ginger mojito and that was very refreshing and good also. Cannot recommend Wasuta more! Bonus: their covered patio kept us dry on a rainy day and is apparently dog friendly, so I cannot wait to bring my dogs. Do bring a jacket if on the patio though it did get very chilly in that rain.

We keep coming back here, the food is great, the service amazing, and it truly is a hidden gem! Tonight we had the Burrata Prosciutto, rosé crab spaghetti, nightly special Spaghetti with Gorgonzola bolognese, and the rigatoni miso bolognese. Great place for a date night and great food!

We were craving for Japanese Italian style food. And I found this place on yelp. It looks yummy and it says homemade pasta. We drove there from downtown Vancouver. It was too late for us to reserve when I called, but the guy said there's space for walk in. We got there probably 15min after they open, and we seated right away. Right after that, there's more people arriving, some for reservation and some have to wait in line. There's some seats outside. Inside is quiet a small space, probably can fit 30 people. Parking: plenty free parking. Located: in 2nd floor. We ordered: Aburi duck - their special. Taste good, but chewy Black cod croquette - their special. It's just ok, cannot taste the black cod Meitako salmon cream pasta - their special. It tastes average. Hojicha tiramisu - their special. Yummy. Lamb chop - their special. It's more like stew or braised. Sakura shrimp and shiraku squid ink pasta - ok Yuzu olive cake - nice Ritagoni- just like regular meat sauce Overall just ok.

First time here! They were quite busy on a Saturday for lunch, but you can make a reservation. My partner and I ordered one of the specials, spagetti rose crab. Our favourite dish! The sauce was so tasty and rich. The second one was the saba fettucine which was also very good, and a little salty from the fish. Not pictured is our appetizer of the aburi duck!! Everything was extremely tasty and good and I can't wait to come back! Service was friendly and efficient.

The staffs/owner were very friendly and made great recommendations. Had the hamachi carpaccio, so refreshing and appetizing. The homemade ponzu (lemony) sauce has a nice finish with thin sliced onions and veggies. The Engawa Arburi nigiri was recommended, and it was phenomenal. It is the 'fin edge' of flounder. Super delicate, with seared (arburi) flavor and melts in your mouth. Yum! The other highlight was the Wagyu beef cubes severed on stick. Two skewers 4 cubes each. The Wagyu was perfectly cooked. It melts in your mouth with every bite. We also enjoyed the 7 piece Omakase sushi set. The fish was very fresh and satiating. Love the lotus root chips garnishing. This location is inside the CF Richmond Center mall. My party of 4 was able to get seated immediately on a Saturday around 12:45pm. Once seated, there will be a paper where you can individually mark your order at each person's seat. I opted to get the 6 hand roll set along with the salmon aburi oshi. The salmon oshi was very meh IMO, but some others in my party liked it. It was kind of tasteless to me, and the servers suggested not having it with soy sauce, but my friends said it actually tasted better with soy sauce. As for the hand rolls, they were pretty good; my favorites were the toro and the truffle lobster, which is more unique and not something I usually see at other hand roll bars. Service was generally quite good, with our waters and ginger being refilled. We were also offered an explanation of the menu when we were seated as it was our first time dining here. However I feel like the wait time between rolls was a bit of a let down. Similar to some other hand roll bars I've been to, it seems like the order in which parties were served was kind of random. For example, other parties would get 2-3 hand rolls in a row before we got one. Also, even within my party, 2 people got 2 hand rolls in a row before I even got one. It was a bit strange and I wish the service was a bit more balanced. Pricing was also on the higher side - the hand rolls aren't super big so even a 6 set hand roll ($39) didn't leave me feeling completely full.
