I have a 40 year old Seiko Seamaster which I sent to Watch Repair USA for a repair quote. The quote was $800 which I authorized and waited to hear from them on the repair progress. After three weeks or so I contacted them inquiring about the repair, I was told the technician was still working on my watch. I finally received my repaired watch, it seemed to be working fine but a month prior to the 12 month warranty expiring the watch stopped working. I contacted Watch Repair USA and spoke with Sandra who was most helpful, I sent the watch back to them for repair. They returned my watch to me in a working condition BUT two month later it stopped working AGAIN. Once more I contacted Sandra who informed me that the repair warranty had expired but if I wanted to send it back for further repairs they would be happy to fix it. I am totally pissed off, after paying $800 I expected my "Repaired" watch to be in good working order for a long time but that was not to be. Watch Repairs USA is a scam. They are thieves who steal parts of expensive watches. I sent them my Dior watch for repair a few years ago. This was a wedding gift! The case back had an issue & needed repair. My original documentation clearly states that the case back would pop open. They got back to me saying that the case back needed to be "replaced". I agreed expecting the original Dior case back to be returned,. When the watch came back it had a cheap silver case back and I never got the original Dior case back sent to me. They stole it. Additionally, the repair they did was of such poor quality that now no-one is able to open the watch to replace the battery. When I put an honest review of their bad service, they invited me to send my watch back. So, a few weeks ago, I sent my Dior watch with the explicit instructions that they simply fix their own mistake & re-install the case back properly so I can get the battery replaced in my own. They have been awful in terms of customer service. Per my last communication, they expect me to pay for this work and are not sending my watch back. I want my Dior watch back before they steal more parts from it. And I expect the case back which they installed to be in proper form so I can get the battery replaced wherever I want. They told me they could service my AP watch. I sent them the Watch and they quoted me almost $2000 but told me that it needed parts and that was going to delay things and that was also part of the high cost. It took them nine weeks to return the watch to me, and when it was returned, the date wheel wasn't working properly. One of the tiles wasn't aligned and it couldn't be wound properly. They told me to send it back under warranty. I suggested it shouldn't be covered under warranty because they never fixed it right in the first time. I also asked them where the original parts were that they needed to replace for that fee. They told me that they didn't need to replace any parts, but the fee remain the same. For that price I could've sent the watch to Audemars and they would've completely serviced the watch, including reconditioning the case and replacing the silicone sleeves. They took another almost 8 weeks to repair the watch again and every time I ask when it was coming back, they had a different story about shipping being a different department and it was out of their control and there was no one else I could speak to, except the nasty person on the phone named Tammy. I found out the owners name and the partners and I emailed all of them and none of them could be bothered to respond. Additionally, when the Watch came back, one of the strap keepers was broken and the other one was missing. Audemars doesn't sell the strap keepers alone so now I have to spend $600 on a new rubber strap for it from Audemars. I suggest reading all of the reviews on Yelp and Google and actually believe them. Take your watch to anyone else. I had to give them one star because that was the minimum I could give them. Called and asked if they could service a vintage accutron watch that runs on a tuning fork. They said they served them all the time so I sent the watch in. They emailed when they received the watch and said they need to wait on parts quote from a supplier. After a month I called and they said they are waiting on the supplier to get back to them. Local watch repair shop opened it up. Screw holding down the manual wind gear came off and gear plus screw free floating in the case. In addition, the watch is missing the two case screws which hold the movement down to the case and the crown stem is rusted. I sent in a Seiko watch that is difficult to service being a diver's watch, but was reassured by Sandra Grady that they did indeed work on all Seiko watches, and that a normal battery change and cleaning would bring the watch up to manufactures specifications. The price seemed high, over $400, but I thought it would be within range if the watch received first class attention. What huge mistake on my part. After over four months (as of this date) not only has the watch not been fixed, they could not confirm that the watch was in their possession. It makes one think that they send all their work out....destination unknown. I was able to contest the payment, but no watch, and no idea if I will ever see it again. I have a vintage Elgin pocket watch (circa 1898) that was left to me by my late uncle. It was in need of repair, so I decided to have it restored. I found Watchrepairsusa on line and was very impressed with their website. My mistake. I sent the watch to them for an estimate requesting a complete overhaul and specifically, replacement of a plastic lens, which I had installed a couple of years ago since the watch was missing the crystal. I paid the repair estimate of $553.34 which specifically indicated replacing the plastic lens with a glass crystal, for which there was a separate charge of $79.99. After 7 months in the shop it was mailed back to me at my expense ($ 33.37) and still had a plastic lens. They included a terse note stating they could not use a glass crystal because of an issue with the bezel and only a plastic lens would work. They refused to refund my $79.99 saying they replaced the plastic lens with another plastic lens and the price was the same as the glass! They could have at least called to ask me if I wanted to replace the perfectly good plastic one with another plastic one. One other nasty surprise was a note about vintage warranty. "Due to the delicate nature of vintage watches, we are only able to offer a 3 month warranty". The original repair invoice and website information made NO mention of that, only that they provide a "1 Year Common Sense Warranty". This is a bait and switch. Customer Service was nasty and didn't respond to my request for refund of the crystal charge. To sum it up, my recommendation is to avoid this company like the plague. I contacted Watch Technicians in Creve Coeur, Mo for repairs to my Citizen watch.I received a shipping container with instructions and a receipt from Watch Repairs USA. I shipped the watch to Watch Repairs USA on 5/12/2025. After they received and evaluated the problem on 6/24/2025we agreed on what services I wanted and I paid $564.50. I was told repairs would take 8 to 12 weeks. I have been in contact with Tammy several times, always advised that the watchmaker was extremely busy and would start work on my watch soon. On one occasion she claimed to have walked to the watchmaker's location and was told that there were several watches ahead of mine. On9/22/2025 I was told my repairs were in the "final stage" per the Watchmaker and she would call when they were ready to ship my watch. After they received the watch they sent an estimate for $309.97 which included an entire restoration. I replied, crystal only. They stated they would not do that. It took 5 months but they sent it back. I was really excited only to find out - the clasp STILL didn't work. I called them - they told me to send it back to them. I had to pay to ship it to them and then pay to have them fix it again AND then pay to have it returned to me. It still doesn't latch properly and I'm afraid to wear it. Well going to have to give 1 Star. It started so well! I sent in my Alpina watch to repair the second hand which had popped off. The fix and return was fine. But two-weeks short of 1 year later it popped off again. I contacted Watch Repair USA and they sent a shipping label for to fix under the 1-year warranty. By the time they returned the watch the second time it was past the original 1-year warranty for the original fix. No problem. Unfortunately they removed a gasket from the crown but didn't replace it. A week after they returned the watch (now with the second hand repaired) the crown entirely popped out and broke off. That in itself is not a huge deal but they refuse to fix this new problem that they created since it's no longer under their own warranty. Note this was their mistake **while** it was under warranty. Apparently pictures don't do the trick. I sent in pics clearly showing what was missing. So 1-star for not standing by their work. 1-star for refusing to fix what they did wrong. 1-star for their general obstinance to making it right. And that doesn't make 3-total stars. That's 1-star total. Oh, and a suggestion to Watch Repairs USA .... when you do a "courtesy call" it's usually helpful to actually be courteous and thank the person for their business.
