I've been in the jewelry industry for 45 years and every time I'm in a jam or I am in need I go to watch World and they are the most efficient experts and watch battery replacement and bracelet sizing. For all of the people that have complained on Yelp in regards to watch World, you should be ashamed of yourself. You buy something online pay full price whatever the price might be and then you get upset when someone who's providing you a service... charges you for their time.....give it a break! Avoid this store - overpriced and limited selection. Watches here are marked up 50%+ compared to online. They charge $20 for a simple battery or band replacement when you can do it yourself for $5. Very few watches to choose from--take your business elsewhere. They also can't fix most watches--before I even explained what was wrong, they told me they couldn't fix it. Unless it's a $20 battery change, they're useless. They have no knowledge of replacing movements, bezels, or anything else. Other Yelp reviews share similar experiences. This is a response to my review on watch world website in regard to putting the back of my watch back on. This particular watch does not use a gasket as watch world said it did to secure the back of the watch. I went to a jeweler and they did get the back on the watch. I am speaking the truth in my review and disappointed with the owners response. I see other reviews complaining about the same gentleman who is suppose to service customers. I am glad I found someone who had the knowledge to help me. I will be passing along my story with anyone who is need for a watch repair. I did not write a bad review , but the truth of the situation. Obviously the "owner" is the person behind the counter and his comments are just as rude as in person. The "owner" did not provide anything free for work he did, he didn't do anything. You would think if your business is called watch world it would service all watches, it's a big world out there, but not the case. Previously I had a watch strap replaced here. A good selection of watches for sale, mid-range, various styles. Bought a Swiss Army watch here a few years ago for my nephew's high school graduation. Needed a watch battery replaced. For the second time I came here. Small store in a strip mall across from the Boulevard Mall. Batteries changed in no time flat and for $8 (battery included). I cannot comment if that's a good price but to me it seems fair. Having been charged $20 elsewhere once is my frame of reference. If you need a battery changed I"d come here. Easy parking. Would've given 5 stars as they replaced 3 batteries for my watches in a 7 day span they were efficient and courteous for the battery installations even joked they'd see me the next day as my business was frequent. On my third visit along with my battery purchase, I brought in a watch to have links removed And sized. They had the nerve to charge me 15 dollars for this quick 5 minute job. I get paying for a service, especially during economic hardships that we're all going through, but sometimes a little courtesy goes far. Most jewelry shops Ive frequented do this when you're an established customer. I was told "we can't do things for free" by the snarky shop employee. He added however, saving my receipt would allow me to add links with no charge in the future. FF to the following week I came in with the exact same model watch as the one previous was defective and I had to return to Amazon. I asked them if they could remove the links, and had my receipt from the previous week. once I explained to another employee what happened, he said "well it's a different watch so usually we charge but I'll do it this time". I was thinking after all the business I've given his place in a short period "geez thanks for the favor". As he was sizing my watch in the back he was talking to the first employee I encountered and had the nerve to say "well maybe he should have Amazon size it" All In all this place only cares about dollar signs rather than customer client relations. In a time where mom and pop retailers are being replaced by e commerce, shops like this should lean on the old principle of the "customer is always right", not always but now and then. Some unique finds can be found in this shop. Interesting antique furniture, good selection of watches, koo-koo clocks, miniature specialty clocks, hand made jewelry & knick-knacks. My mother and I went in to fix her watch band and get a new watch battery. There was a steady stream of customers, yet our service was done on mere minutes. The stunningly handsome and quite helpful young man working today provided great customer service and an amazing smile. Very pleasant experience. My favorite watch had just died on me, and I still had to replace the battery for one of my other watches. One of my friends who is a local recommended Watch World for my battery replacement, so I decided to drive over to the store near Tonawanda. When I walked in, someone immediately came out from the back room to speak with me. He gave me a price estimate for each watch and then walked back to his room to start working on them. About 10-15 minutes later, he came out with my watches, both fully operational and with the correct dates and times, and the price was only $21.75 with tax - solid deal! He also told me the batteries have a 1-year warranty, for which he gave me a slip to hold on to. As far as the selections go, he mainly sells low to mid-level brands (Citizen, for example) but they look very nice. I will certainly continue to come to Watch World if I need a new battery. read more

I stopped in to get a battery replaced in a cheap fossil I use for work. Ended up browsing and bought a Bulova Curv. Sales person was absolutely no pressure, was extremely quick with band adjustment and they didn't even charge me for the battery in my fossil. Will definitely do business with them again. read more

I've been going to Watch World for years to get batteries for my watches, I'm a collector so this is pretty often. Over the years I've become aware of their distain for the Invicta brand which is the brand I primarily collect Today I brought in a Invicta Man of War with a SELLITA SW500 movement in it. Sellita's SW500 is an automatic chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 7750 design, very high end in the watch movement world. First the gentleman insults me by talking down about my watch, then he tells me the 'watchmaker" won't work on it because it's Chinese, I had to correct him and inform him it was "Swiss Made" He continues to let me know they probably won't work on it because of the brand? Your working on the movement, not the case! He ends up taking it but calls me within the hour to come pick it up because the "watchmaker" won't work on it. Obviously they have the right to refuse service without explanation, but don't insult the customer, don't call yourself "Watch World" if your not actually selling or repairing watches of the world. When I picked it up, I informed another gentleman that I thought it was disappointing and not good for business that they pick and choose what they will work on, his response "it is what it is" I have 20 plus years as a Sr. manager in retail for a fortune 500 company and if I have learned one thing, you never tell a customer "it is what it is". The selection is outstanding here, they have a lot of high end watches to fit any style, the biggest reason I continue to return to this business is almost entirely due to the customer service alone. It's outstanding and the employees are very knowledgeable which I tend to find the opposite of any jewelry or department store worker at the mall. The location is easy to find and right near the boulevard mall. These guys repaired my 1953 Bulova that had suffered a little water damage to the point where it would run again. I thought the watch was a goner after accidentally running in to a very warm ocean with it a couple of years ago. They re-set the crown and it's ticking away happily. (Of course, it will never be the same and the store did tell me that they could do a full restore if I wanted, which is cool). The servicing only took a couple of days and was wicked inexpensive. Nice guys there. My wife also had some links taken out of her new watch there last week and they did the work on the spot, quickly, and inexpensively. Highly recommended for watch repairs! Place is easy to find, right across from the Boulevard Mall in a little strip mall, and parking is right in front, nice and easy. I visited "Watch World" recently with my Fossil watch that needed a new battery. It was very disappointing to learn the "Watch World", which sells Fossil watches, does not replace the battery for the "kind of" Fossil watch I have. Seems to me that a store called "WATCH WORLD" should be able to replace a battery in a watch. I will not be back. Update: I took my watch to the Fossil store in the Galleria Mall, they replaced the battery in 5 minutes, no special tools or skills needed. read more

Damaged my watch down to the metal! Brought my watch in to have a new band put on. They ordered the band directly from Bulova supposedly, but after they installed it I immediately noticed the new band was very worn out already. They agreed this new band looked like it was already used. Then when I was about to leave (with the old band put back on) I looked at the watch and realized they damaged it while replacing the band! As you can see in the picture, this was clearly done by someone taking off the band with a tool and the tool hitting the watch. This watch has never been taken to any other shop before. In response, I was told I am "making a mountain out of a mole" and it wasn't a big deal! I thought I was bringing my watch to professionals so it wouldn't be damaged. Wrong I guess. You would think they were insured to replace things that they damage, but apparently not. So, now I have a damaged watch and no new band (which I had already paid them for) and they will do nothing to replace/have the watch fixed. Don't risk your watch being damaged here! read more

If we could give them less, we would. We gave them two fairly valuable watches - one of them, a gold Baume et Mercier - to repair. Ultimately, they were completely unable to fix one of the watches and took a forever to respond. They held the watches for nearly six months When they finally got around to fixing the watch, they caught us at a bad time - I hadn't been paid for awhile, a temporary setback. My wife had contacted them in November and told them we would take care of it presently. They called in early December, while my wife was in San Diego attending to a sick family member and were rude - telling her they would sell the watches on eBay. A credit card was provided. Nearly all of the positive posts here refer to replacing a battery. Big Fin deal. A complicated repair took them forever, they were rude and offensive to a woman, and ultimately they were unable to repair one of the two watches anyway. If you have a $10 deal, great. If you have a valuable time piece, stay away from these idiots. read more

Convenient location. Walked in on a Friday evening around 5:30pm and was able to have my watch band adjusted on the spot! Admittedly, I was a little difficult because I couldn't decide whether to take 6 links off or 7 links off, but the guy helping me happily took them off/put them back on/only to take them off again while I hemmed and hawed on the fit of the strap. $12 plus tax and he said it would be free of charge if I decide I want to add/remove links in the near future. I own quite a few watches. I will never step into watch world for anything more than a battery, and I will avoid them for that also. I took in two different repairs and both times I am told it cannot be fixed before my sentence is done. These were simple repairs that were later performed by ACTUAL watch experts. I've had two metal straps fitted at the price of 15 dollars and 20 dollars a year later. And the employee was eating an apple while handing me my watch. They are no more experts than any mall kid who can change batteries. They actually have a sign stating they don't guarantee water resistance, but they sell dive watches, which is surprising. To sum up: can't do simple repairs, overpriced, unprofessional, but can change a mean battery. read more
