I love this place. The owner is a quirky intellectual whose eyes are magnified by his special glasses...his service is fast and professional, his prices, while not "cheap," are reasonable given the high quality of his work. He added a new watchband to a family watch I treasure, and took extra time helping me find the model I really wanted by searching through one of his catalogues. One caveat: if you're in a rush, don't get stuck chatting politics here...you might have trouble exiting as the owner loves to debate the problems of the world! That's the only reason I'm not going for five stars! Also note: the traffic from 95 can be brutal anywhere near mid-afternoon through evening. Go early, mid-morning if possible. read more

I have had several watches repaired by watchworks, most recently my Father-In-law's 20 year old gold Rolex. I would never dream of taken a timepiece like that to anyone else. The watch was repaired perfectly, band polished better than new, and finished at the time promised, and all the old, replaced parts returned ... just like the last 5 watches he has repaired for me. This guy is obviously THE BEST watch person in Rhode Island. So when I read a negative review like Mary B's, I find it funny that she's complaining that she was charged 25 dollars for 5 minutes work, even though the job was correct ! If it had taken 15, 20, 25 minutes would she still complain? I think Mary was looking for a complimentary repair ... If you need a watch repaired, do not hesitate to go here, they are simply THE BEST ! read more

Pleasantly surprised (well, not really since I found this shop based on Yelp reviews...heh). Fast and polite service, I had brought my watch in for a battery change and a repair. Turns out that even though it did need a battery..it did not need repair, problem was with me. Went here today to have a watch sized and brought another one that needed a battery. I explained that I thought the gasket might be damaged. Sure enough, he showed me the gasket wasn't even the proper size from the last place I had the watch serviced. The owner replaced the gasket and battery, even taking the time to remove the hands and clean off the oxidation that had occurred from the leaky gasket. All done very quickly. He was very patient fitting the watch just the way I wanted it and it was great to talk politics while I waited. Will definitely go back! read more

He's trained in watch repair so I am sure he knows what he's doing. However, he charges TWICE what other stores around town do for basic services such as battery changes and sizing a watch bracelet. He also tried to talk me into putting in a new battery even when it was clear that the one already in one of my watches was working fine. On top of that, he's a vocal Trumpite. My advice: try another shop unless you have a major repair and need special work done. read more

I have never been treated in such a rude manner. I had two watches that needed the bands reattached. Anyplace else it would have been a complimentary service, but I was finding it difficult so I was willing to pay a nominal fee. It was difficult and may have taken him as much as 5 minutes to do one. He set it on the counter and told me it would be $25.00. He made a point of telling me that I probably wouldn't want to pay for the other because it would cost $50.00. He refused my credit card and did not give me a receipt. He repeatedly told me that it "was a pain in the ass." Yes, his exact words. He did not want to repair both and I think he charged an outrageous price to make me leave. Apparently the money I paid to repair my Timex watch was beneath him. He actually said "I can work on this or a Rolex, what do you think I'd rather do?" I took the other one home and fixed it myself. I will NEVER return. read more

I was very upset my husband went in to have a watch battery changed and when he return he told my husband it would be $20. He fixed something he was not told to fix. I called and complained and he agreed to refund the $5.00. I think $15.00 to change a battery is crazy on an old watch. Will never go there again. read more

My experience did not go well. He seemed busy and distracted and while I'm sure he understands watches, he is not good with people. There was a misunderstanding about the work I wanted, and when I tried to explain it, he adopted a mocking tone. I paid him in full and left the store visibly upset. He followed up with a long voicemail message lecturing me about how I should feel differently and making a series of assumptions about why the watch was important to me. Another person might have tried to learn more about how the miscommunication happened and resolve it. I experienced him as condescending, mansplaining, and bordering on rude. But I am sure he knows about watches and I think he takes great pride in his knowledge. Maybe it did not go well because I am a woman? Who knows. Be careful to be clear in communicating with him and do not place an order when he is busy with other people. Life is too short to be treated like that, so I will not ever go back. read more

What a find! The last time I had to have the battery changed in my Tag Heuer watch, the jewelry store where I bought it had to mail it to Tag Heuer's U.S. service center. It took three weeks to get it back! Bob was able to change the battery, clean/service it, and pressure-test it in under three hours!! He was incredibly nice as he explained exactly how the servicing was done. And the cost was the same as if I had sent it to Tag's service center. I stopped in to get a battery for my husbands watch. It was my fault for not asking the price beforehand. While there he continuously talked politics, praising Trump and slaughtering Hillary. I explained I still haven't made up my mind on who I would be voting for. He told me I'd be crazy not to vote for Trump. He kept popping his head out of the back room to praise Trump. I tried very hard not to engage in his conversation as I don't believe in talking politics or religion. It must have taken him a good 15 minutes to put a battery in my husbands watch where it should have taken less than 5 minutes. When he was finally finished he said it was $15. I looked in my wallet and only had $10. I expected it to cost $5. Maybe $10. I asked if he accepted Visa or MasterCard he said nope. I told him I would have to come back the next day. I stopped the next day and didn't engage in conversation it took him forever to find the watch. I will never go back there again and will not recommend anyone go there. read more
