Other than a couple noticeably talented bartenders this place is just a disaster. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our presence was all but ignored. One person seemed to be the only server on a busy Friday night. After placing our order it took over an hour to get two plates of the Fried Hadock Sandwich with Fries. Our server disappeared after clumsily delivering our drinks. The entire room seem to be left unattended. At long last a new server moved from the bar to covering the floor. We managed to flag him down and ask about our food. He went to check and came back to ask us what we had ordered. Note we had already been waiting an hour. We ordered a strawberry margarita and the Golden Goose NEIPA. Both drinks were decent. We also ordered the tater tots and clam chowder soup. Both were very good. Our server was very friendly. When I asked for the happy hour specials, I was informed that the state of Massachusetts doesn't allow happy hours. When I asked why, she explained that there was an incident where a girl left a happy hour and got into an accident and died, so they changed the laws for the state. Wow. We went around 2pm on a wednesday, and the place was pretty busy. We sat at the bar and after 20 min, they finally took our drink order. However, they never asked for our food order even though we had menus. I even waved to and made eye contact with a bartender, but I guess he didn't process it because he turned around and just handed out menus to other customers around the restaurant. My friend has an out of state license which she is used to having questioned and was served here several times before with. however this time the bartender took her real ID and disappeared with it for 10 minutes and came back saying she scanned it 3 times and it was fake. we were rudely told to leave after she gave my friend back her "fake ID" and did not have any interest in seeing any other forms of ID and belittled her along with her other coworker in front of multiple customers. awful experience when we were here less than a week ago using her "fake" ID and they had no issues with it then. I usually enjoy going to Waterclub on Marina Bay, however, my experience on Thursday evening (06/15) was not the best. After partially eating my meal, my group and I paid our tab. Shortly after paying our tab, Carlos, one of the night time managers abruptly came to our table very aggressive. Without greeting anyone, he was demanding an explanation as to why we tipped the amount we did. I've worked in the food business before, it is absolutely inappropriate to ask guests to tip/demand a reason for the amount of tip they chose to leave. His tone was alarming and very unpleasant, keep in mind, he's addressing a table full of colored women. I am unsure if I'll ever visit again, I'm still in shock that - that was an experience I encountered. I felt very targeted and that is not the kind of environment I'd like to spend my hardworking money on. read more

I look forward to visiting Marina Bay every summer specifically for the food and atmosphere. This year I was happy to visit Waterclub to support the staff now that restaurants can finally open. My girlfriend and I decided to come to Waterclub to get lunch and a drink to enjoy the nice weather and the view. Atmosphere Depending on when you come visit Marina Bay, it can have a different feel. During the day its a nice place to hang out, have a drink (or few) and watch a game on the TV. At night you will get the club crowd so expect more noise and more people. From the restaurant you get a beautiful view of the city and wide open waters. We sat on the side so we also got to people watch and check out boats parked in the dock. If there is a wait, get some rays and enjoy the view strolling the boardwalk. Food & Staff The food has at Waterclub has always been a great experience. Caters to the bar crowd but a little more upscale. The staff has been attentive and nice. During this visit, we were there for almost two hours and we never felt rushed to order and pay to flip tables. Portions are the right amount so you shouldn't leave feeling hungry. I had the fried chicken and waffle sandwich. If you want to channel your inner fat kid and put off the beach body for one more week then this is a good choice. My girlfriend had the fish tacos. The fish was breaded and well cooked. My only critique is to keep the size of the fish consistent. One of the tacos had a very small piece which could have been placed in one of the other tacos. Drinks Great variety of bottles and drafts, but wait on the drafts until the restrictions are lifted. I had the island mule, she had the sangria. Yum! This place outside in the summer weather with a cold drink in my hand is a great place to be! Had a beautiful view of the harbor and city this was a perfect Saturday appetizer spot! The steak and cheese quesadilla is delicious and the truffle fries are truly sinful! The salmon sliders were a great surprise and the drinks were classic. The staff was very kind but kinda busy, but after this crazy year it was just nice to get outside and enjoy the weather with friends! Apparently, WaterClub is for youngins, but I came here on a Sunday afternoon, as opposed to a Friday night. Whew! So the crowd was mostly older folks and the scene was rather quiet. The only louder noises I heard there were from the diverse music collection being played at the establishment and the wind from Stephen Drew's whiff at a pitch from the Red Sox game on the multiple televisions. I had little expectation for the food here, and ordered the Water Club (get it, har har), which was a typical club sandwich. The turkey was definitely commercial stuff from a package (and not the good stuff) and everything else being plain. It was edible but nothing really enjoyable. Service was passable, and the waitress had my friend comp'ed for waiting a few more minutes for his hamburger. I guess that was super nice of them, but doesn't really factor into my grading because, as Joie Y. might put it, it's all about me. :-P The view is decent, though the brick edifice that is UMass Boston kinda hogs the scenery. read more

My friend visited me from New York and we went there sat down and ordered a meal and one drink each. We both tipped 20% and then closed out our tab. We then went up to the bar to get two high noons and the man told us the total was $20. My friend handed him a $20 bill and he reiterated that it was $20 expecting a tip for opening a can. The rest of the night he refused to service to us because we did not leave a tip and told the other bartenders that we are not allowed to be served. We saw another friend of ours, and we asked them to go up to the bar to order a drink for us since we weren't allowed to order ourselves and the bartender said, he would not serve our friend because he was with us. Me and my friend were horrified at the situation considering we paid for an Uber there and back just to be dismissed service. Absolutely disgraceful. read more

FYI this place is first come first serve. You have to find a table for yourself when you get there. Loved the view and scenery and the night club had good vibes. Lacked the typical Boston nightclub douchey-ness which was great. Now for the cons. Drinks sucked and were overpriced. The Buffalo chicken pizza tasted like Mama Celeste microwave pizza from my childhood with just the chciken and sauce added on top. The server was super busy and I was with a friend who met up with me after i sat down, so she was never even offered any utensils or a plate the entire time even though i had asked for them prior to her getting there. Water wasn't replaced at any point once it was empty even when asked. They definitely made sure they collected the bill quickly though. TL;DR: Definitely will not be back for the food or drinks here but would come back for the nightclub for sure. read more

Let me just say these 5 stars are due the way the manager really turned the situation around... i came on a nice Sunday with my cousin to grab a bite to eat. Although it was crowded we were still able to find a seat relatively quick. The drinks and appetizer (garlic soy chicken tenders) were both AMAZING. Upon finishing our app, was the first to order a simple fish sandwich that came with fries , while my cousin ordered a Waterclub burger . Within 10 minutes my cousin received her order...assuming my order would follow shortly behind, she waited an additional 15 mins before eating hers so that we could eat together. Let's be mindful during this time our waitress along with a few others spent 8-10 mins recording a Man in a chicken suit entertaining a bday party that was there. And even then i gave the benefit of the doubt that after that i would receive my order. An additional 10 mins roll by after the "chicken man" stops, when a gentleman cleaning the table asked if we were all set. I told him i ordered a fish sandwich that had yet to be received. He then told me my order was was never placed. 5 minutes after that i waited by the kitchen door to find our actual waiter and informed her my food was not received. . Her response was "it'll be right up". Two minutes later she returned to the table to remind me it was coming, basically to inform she finally put the order in now almost an hour later. At this point i asked for a manger, who turned everything around and made this experience what it should have been from the beginning. She apologized, which was something the waitress failed to do, and she acknowledged the mishap. While i eventually received my order, i was pleased to have the manager continue to check on us and insure we were good. Overall fantastic energy, great vibes, great music, and amazing food. Went into the waterclub tonight with friends and experienced some of the most horrific customer service I have ever seen. We were waiting to grab drinks from the bottom bar and the brunette bartender ignores us. We try to get her attention and she then proceeds to flip us off - yes this really happened and I wish I could have recorded it. To be honest we were the only nonwhite people waiting but I will digress.... If you want to prevent a night being ruined and possibly not experience racist service - just take the uber to Boston. Went to this Marina Bay uppity location to check out The Reelhouse. After looking at 4 other restaurants in the marina area THIS is where we ended up. Why? This place is about good food not charging you for the location. The other 4 places were pretentious, over priced and seemed like they may look down on the t-shirt and shorts people. This place was relaxing and comfortable to people just wanting to eat good food. The prices were a wee bit more than we expected but all 4 of us could not praise each order enough. When are4 different people all happy?! The only reason I did not give that 5th star is because of the stupid loud music. It was 4pm-ish nit 10pm club time. It was so loud it was very hard to have a conversation at a table where you were not far from the other people. Thats not a great ambiance for dinner. read more

I will start off by giving the WaterClub two stars for being a good place to hang out and catch the ball game on the warm Sunday afternoon. The bar has a open space and the view of the Marina with the city of Boston is cool. Food service at the WaterClub is a afterthought. The serve basic bar food and all of it is very overpriced considering the quality. The drinks there are expensive and after watching the bartender prepare my Absolute and cranberry I was paying for just juice. Not even a ounce of alcohol was added to the drink. On my last visit on Sunday the new thing there is people bringing there dogs to the bar. There were at least five women holding their small dogs while having drinks. The reserved parking area is somewhat weird during the middle of the week (you can't get into the lot since there's a pole blocking the entrance) but not to worry you can park next to the MarinaBay Sports complex and you should be good to go. The view of the dock at sunset is pretty nice accompanied by a nice mojito. The atmosphere is great with a group of coworkers after a stressful day at work. If you like beer, then beer buckets are the way to go since there's 5 beers in a bucket and you can share with friends. read more

Pretty disappointing experience and I never even had the chance to try their food. Was told 45 mins for a table at 2:15pm. Walked over at 3.15pm and the "security" guard laughed and said it would be another 20 minutes. Anyways, my table wasn't ready until 4.39pm.
