I don't even want to post this review-I feel like this place is a hidden GEM. We found it on Labor Day while looking for waterfront dining. It's about a 40 minute drive for us, and 100% worth it. The service was attentive and friendly, the view was incredible, and the food was so delicious. The menu is HUGE, and we decided to order appetizers to split. The review that states the stuffed mushrooms were life changing was not kidding. We also ordered the biggest coconut shrimp I've ever seen, and poutine fries that were delish. THE BEST FOOD WE HAD ON OUR TRIP BY FAR!!! Husband and I came out here for a wedding, originally we are from California, and it turns out the groom was related to the owner of this restaurant so of course when we were all hanging out one day he had asked us if we would like to go to his restaurant for dinner. We were so very excited and of course we took him up on the opportunity! Arriving at this place you have to sign up for a membership, but it was literally just showing your ID to prove who you were and providing a phone number and that was it. The staff was very nice very welcoming when we first walked up, we only had to wait for maybe seven minutes before we were shown a table inside. But our party proved to be a little bit two big so we ended up moving to the outside area. The atmosphere here was so lovely, I honestly was worried that we would be just eaten by bugs because we were outside but I didn't get bit once and I had forgotten to put bug spray on. The food itself was absolutely delicious. I honestly wish we had a restaurant like this in California, The shrimp are huge, the bruschetta was soft and crunchy at the same time, the fish tacos are so filling and packed with fish... I'm so jealous that this restaurant exists in North Carolina and not where I live because I am still to this day dreaming about these fish tacos. Our waitress was so lovely, she was checking on us so much and always topping off our waters and asking if we needed anything else. What an unexpected surprise that is turning into a regular part of our plan! It all started with us needing something that was quick for lunch and we were in the area. This happened to be the only place open and I am SSSOOO glad it was. Location: you really just can't do better when it comes to the name "Watersedge". It is in a cove of Highrock lake and the view is incredible. It also has docks for boats to park. Atmosphere: relaxed and casual. Very fun lake day feel and also inviting Food:whoa! We were not expecting any of this. It is hands down some of the best food I have had in each category of salad and stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushrooms are life changing really. It embraces the meaning of "stuffed" mushrooms lol. It came with 3 large mushrooms with sausage crumbles,cream cheese,and whatever magical goodness they put in there! The summer berry salad has to be one of the best Salads I have ever had at a restaurant. The greens were crisp and fresh,berries full and perfectly ripe, those candied walnuts were awesone...I decided to add some shrimp and they were very tasty. This was a really lucky find for me as I was looking for brunch places in the Salisbury area to catch up with a friend. This popped up and I'm shocked I've never even heard or seen it before. It truly is a hidden gem of Salisbury despite being in the far outskirts of it near High Rock Lake. This place is inconspicuously hidden amongst the rural parts of Salisbury so it can be easy to miss but it's right by the lake and absolutely gorgeous on a nice day! Parking can be kinda crowded as we went when there was a gender reveal in a section of the restaurant. Besides that, they will ID you and due to liquor licenses (?) and being outside Salisbury. Oh, you can also place a reservation although I don't think that's as big of an issue during these days of the pandemic. Regardless, it's always good to double check! Once we got in, they are taking COVID precautions and spacing people out and wearing masks and providing sanitizer. We opted to eat outside on the deck to get some sunlight since it was such a nice day and get a nice view of the lake! I ordered the french toast (~$8)and cheesy grits on the side. The french toast was a different take in that it also had some cold cut meats in the french toast sandwich like. I didn't expect that but it ended being a really tasty combo of the sweet and savory between the 2 flavors. The cheesy grits (~$3) that I ordered was AMAZING!!! :D Like seriously I regret not getting a giant jar of that to go because it was amazingly cheesy and left me craving for more! Highly recommend getting it and honestly wonder if it comes in a larger size LOL My friend got the parfait and hashbrowns and loved it! We then got some fried cheesecake which was really tasty although it was little bit of challenge of how exactly to eat as were perplexed on how best eat it without making a mess haha The service was excellent where the staff normally checked in on us despite being the only ones dining outside. More people eventually joined the nice weather outside on the deck but still pretty spaced out. If you're in Salisbury and looking for a brunch place and it's nice weather, I'd highly recommend this place as a must stop! Enjoy :D read more

Everyone on the lake has asked us if we had been to Waters edge yet so today we rounded up the family and headed over. We got there right after the brunch and saw the highly recommended blood Mary bar, but we did not partake. We dined outside and had many different items. We started with wings as an appetizer. They were good and 10 wings cost 14.99. With a large family, that was fine. The kids shared the Buffalo pizza and said it was really good, the husband had fish tacos- said the corn tortilla wasn't the freshest, but the flavor was good and I had the wedge salad with shrimp, it was very good and a very large serving. The kids wrapped up the meal with a lava cake and they said it was very good. It came with whipped cream, ice cream would have been better, but that's ok too. The views were good, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was tasty. We will be back. read more

Sadly this place has really gone down hill.... it is now a half way ok fried food and burger joint and it started out as a real restaurant. Calamari and coconut shrimp used to be fantastic, now they are dry and inedible. Sent the calamari back, it was replaced after our dinner food arrived and was only marginally better. 5 people for dinner last night was $40 each and the food just doesn't measure up. We had a dry Edgewich, wings that didn't arrive until the entire table had finished their dinner, inedible calamari.... however 2 people had pizzas and those were good! This was a random suggestion on some feed don't remember which one but it doesn't matter . Sundays I usually work but this day I said not today Satan (Jeff Bezos) and called off! Asked the missus to brunch and she accepted - win!! We were seated inside with a view of the lake - another win!! Our server Payton was great - friendly attentive and help guide my wife through the gluten free options. Imma big fan of the Bloody Mary and oh my they have a diy bar which I ordered and Payton brought me a glass of ice and vodka - win 3 So many mixes and veggies with bacon and shrimp skewer add ins !!! Needless to say I made me one bad ass BM!!! Wife tried eggs Benedict sans muffin and can now say she tried it check a bucket list lol. I had the hangover burger and it was really good and after a couple BMs and a couple oyster shooters ( I swear double shots) I thought I may need one for later!! We went for an early dinner (4:30pm) and things started great as we walked in and were greeted by the hostess. Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. We were sat & then waited over 10 minutes for our server to come get our drink order. Other tables were sat around us and their servers came and got their drink orders. We flagged down a waitress and she took our drink & appetizer order. Five minutes later our waitress comes over with our drinks and apologizes for the wait and says she had a table outside. Then our appetizer comes out; coconut shrimp. They were $12.99 and we got 5 shrimp. I understand shrimp are not the cheapest menu item but really? We ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly and I soon understood why. I am not in the slightest a picky eater and this is one of my only negative reviews. That's how bad our experience was. My burger was nearly raw and tasted like it had been in a freezer for 3 years. The sweet potato fries were good, but did not come out hot. My husband's philly came with beer cheese that wasn't even melted, just a hunk of room temp cheese. And since they don't have a kids menu, we ordered my daughter a cheese quesadilla. Thankfully, it came out okay. I feel like this place could be really great since the view overlooking the lake is awesome! The food and service just need some serious work! read more

We went as a group of six on a Thursday night. We were seated immediately outside. There is a very large indoor and outdoor eating area. The view is great! When we walked in we were asked if we wanted to be a member, it was only a dollar to join, but was odd to me. We were able to register as guests because we were from out of town. This was required for some reason, but I am not sure why. Our amazing waitress Jenna was extremely attentive throughout the whole meal. The food delivery left something to be desired. We started with appetizers, but the wrong appetizers were delivered to our table. We flagged down the waiters that delivered them and they grabbed them and took them to the correct table. This happened again when my husband was playing pool. I asked for the beers to be delivered right to them which Jenna understood. Another waitress delivered the beers to our table instead. The food was good I think we all enjoyed our meals! I liked the Caesar Salad, but you can't really screw that up! The rest of our party finished their plates. I also had the skillet cookie and needed to share it with others. If you are COVID-19 conscious, I would avoid this restaurant. Coming from out of state for a wedding I was conscious of this. The servers started with masks on, but as the night went on there were none to be seen. I would say during the dinner service about 50% of the staff was consistently wearing a mask. We made our first trip over to Waters Edge in rural Salisbury a few days ago. It's not a place you'll see from the highway - not in some crowded, bland strip mall, and definitely worth the short trip out into the pretty countryside. The spacious restaurant has a very nice view out over an arm of the lake. Our group had three appetizers and a variety of main dishes. All were excellent. One of the best burgers (and huge!!!) I've ever had. Service was very good. Prices were very reasonable as well, especially for such a nice location. If I lived in the area, this would absolutely be one of my frequent destinations. If you're just passing through, it's worth the few-minute diversion off the main highway. read more

A friend was in from out of town and we were looking for something different so we decided to give this place a try based on reviews and the recommendation of a relative. We also needed a place that stayed open beyond the normal 8 or 9 o'clock. What a mistake we made. To be fair, we arrived about 9 pm but their FB page says their kitchen is open until "late". What they don't say is that they have a DJ on Friday night. Playing Rap music. Extremely loudly. So loud that you need to shout to your table mates to be heard. Our waitress, Mollie, offered to move us to an adjacent room with just a curtain to separate us from the pounding music. We moved but it didn't help much. We should have left then but we had driven miles into the country to get there so we decided to make the best of it and ordered drinks and an appetizer. No problems there. They know how to pour cold beer and they stuff an excellent mushroom. But, right after the appetizer was delivered we were told the kitchen closed at 10 pm so we needed to order if we planned to eat dinner as well. They seem to have a well-rounded menu with something for everyone. Unfortunately, the food we ordered was not worth the price. Pizzas seemed to be a specialty so we ordered The GOAT with goat cheese, fresh tomato and a balsamic drizzle. Unfortunately the crust was cooked to such a dark brown that it was difficult to chew. It was like chewing cardboard. So tough that you couldn't tear a piece off to eat that way. Plus, the "drizzle" turned out to a tsunami. It was all you could taste. Cloyingly sweet pizza with a few dabs of goat cheese. Avoid this. Another order was Chicken Alfredo. Nicely grilled chicken breast atop a plateful of goo. The sauce had a strangely metallic taste and there was so much of it that it just overwhelmed the pasta which was okay since the pasta was so over cooked that it was almost mush. The third order was a double cheeseburger which was enjoyed by the lucky diner who ordered it. I'm giving this review a generous two stars because of our server, Mollie. She was funny, energetic, and did her best to make our bad experience as tolerable as possible. As I said, it was late in the evening but if you advertise that you keep your kitchen open "late", you should make sure late diners get the same quality experience as those who eat earlier in the evening. Also, if you turn your restaurant into a club with pounding music at 9 pm you should mention that. We would not have tried this place had we known. read more

Do not call for hours because their phone system does not update to their closures. We have gone 3 times now and they have been closed. After the third time my daughter thought of the FB account. I love the idea of this place but it does not live up to the hype. I wanted to taste Wed. night prime rib, closed. Now they are open mainly for weekend crowd. If you go by boat check the water level as sometimes it is hard to get to their pier. We did get to taste the Sunday brunch with Bloody Mary Bar. That is good!!!! My husband, our 1 yr old and I went on Sunday for our first time. The staff was excellent, and so friendly. Our server, Rachel, was INCREDIBLE! Many interacted with our daughter, which she loved. The food was great, as were the drinks. The prices are very fair for portion size (for lunch) as well. We already can't wait to go back! Also, for any parents with kids who need high chairs...they actually have chairs that reach the high top tables outside on the deck, so you can enjoy the weather and great scenery. After several prompts to visit Waters Edge, I finally make the trip to this nice lake side restaurant. My rating is based on my perception of the food quality and likelihood I will visit again. The service was great, they were very attentive, but I am not sure why the waitstaff all had on very short, shorts? It kind of struck me as a lower-scale dining experience because of that. The food was good, but for the time from order to arrival to be less than 10 minutes, I wonder about the cook to order aspect, given the price. Great new find courtesy of my daughter finding it on Yelp. We were rv camping at Dan Nichols park and looking for lunch on our way out back home. The appetizer beer cheese and pretzels were very good and hot. We both have the bacon burger with fries. Again, very good and seasoned hot fries. I also had a very fresh side salad. My husband had the shrimp and grits. Hot with a great flavor. The scallions were a nice touch. It wasotenof a sauce than the usual gravy. Very good and fresh. Tip... It's a private club as they serve alcohol outside the city limits. So you will need to provide your drivers license and phone number. Our server, Susan was very attentive and so nice. Boat access: Often we order from the boat and a text message let's us know when to come pick up. We'll eat on the boat with a slow cruise or stay docked to consume it. Super easy and no waiting. Sadly returned today with a group of 11. The food was very very different than our first visit. Rib eye steak was on what looked like a "specials" menu. Four of us ordered it. It was advertised with "mashed potatoes " and Brussels sprouts. However, the server stated "no potatoes until after 5". Ok, no problem, we all picked different sides to go with the Brussels sprouts. What we got- the saltiest, inedible mashed potatoes and the sides we ordered to replace the gross potatoes that we weren't even supposed to get. Oddly, it wasn't just the potatoes that were salty beyond belief-it was the sides and the steak also. I don't know who is controlling food quality in the kitchen, but this was a huge mis-step. Fish tacos fell apart immediately because they were so wet. Again, unfortunately they were so unappetizing it wasn't worth trying to eat them with a fork. So disappointed for a post graduation family dinner after telling everyone how great the place was. read more

We went here for brunch with the family. It was very good. My husband loved the cherry dump cake and the grits. the grits were flavorful. The hash browns were a little too hard and crispy with no flavor. I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit and it was good. remember to let them know if you would like it fried hard or not because I didn't and the egg was a little runny. I ordered a mocktail with ginger beer in it (can't forget the name of it). The steak and eggs were really good. 8/24/24 We reserved a beautiful lakefront room, gorgeous views of High Rock Lake. We had 26 people attending this celebration event and couldn't be happier with Waters Edge Dock and Grill for the way we were taken care of. our tables were set up the way we asked, thank you Traci, our meals were brought out hot and correct, everyone was happy and enjoyed the food. I've been needing a nice restaurant on the water, and this "destination spot" sure filled that need! McKenzie was our server, and she was sweet and efficient, the restaurant was bright and clean, with lovely lake views. Husband definitely enjoyed his burger (and he's way too picky!), my mom enjoyed her monte cristo french toast- I was not a fan of the cinnamon/Swiss cheese /raspberry flavor combinations. We came today for a great burger, but that didn't happen. Where do I start?!? My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger with Gouda cheese and a side of sautéed spinach. His burger did not have bacon and came with fries. He ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine well done. He got my well done and I got his nearly medium rare. The Gouda cheese was so thick and not even melted. Look at the pic (please note the pic was taken AFTER he had to ask for bacon? Did you notice the fries, but no sautéed spinach! Yep he had to ask for that as well. Waitress did not even catch the obvious errors. Both burgers were lukewarm at best. We have been coming to Water's Edge since they opened, but our last two visits here have been subpar. Water's Edge you need to step it up or you will lose two great customers. read more
