I've visited this salon more than once and unfortunately have had similar experiences each time. Most recently, I came in and was asked to sit and wait, despite a technician appearing available. There was a lot of internal conversation happening, but no clear communication with me about availability or wait time. After a few minutes, I was told I would need to come back later due to appointments. I completely understand being busy, but clearer communication upfront would have saved time and avoided feeling dismissed. I've also previously felt pricing was not clearly explained, which added to the frustration. I ended up going to another salon nearby and had a much better, more transparent experience. I moved to the area from Massachusetts recently and I'm still looking for a decent nail salon that has nail techs that do a good job with the dip powder set. The salon itself is nice, clean, and they weren't busy for a Sunday afternoon. It was just me and one other woman. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and it was a perfect way to end my weekend....sort of. I want to started off by saying - My nails are real, I don't have anything added. I just always get the dipping powder because they keep my nails strong. The woman who did my nails tried her best, but for $60 I deserved a much better job. Whatever top coat she put on my nails is currently peeling off and it looks like trash. The pictures I've posted are from today (two days after getting my nails done), so I was definitely disappointed in my end result. The pedicure was much better and I have no complaints about that. I'd probably go back for a pedicure but I'm still apprehensive about the nails. I don't think it's worth it to be honest, and if you're charging those prices, at least be REALLY good. Anyway, overall my experience was okay. I will update if I end up going back there. read more

I love love love when I find a nail salon that can shape and paint RIGHT! This would be that salon! I dropped by around 2pm (clearly not a busy time for the weekday) and was the only client. Lynn did my fill in! She checked to see if any of my nails were lifting on the sides. If they were she broke the lift and fixed the problem (amen)! Everyone was very pleasant and the facility seemed clean. Price for a fill in and gel polish was $45 which to me is bit pricey (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) but due to the amazing service, I'll be back! read more

I'm from NYC where a mani and pedi is $20& a gel manicure is $25. Today I paid $62 for a gel manicure and pedicure. It hurt me to my core to pay that price but I will continue to do so at this salon. I had a great experience and I am pleased with the results! I left Zumba at L.A. Fitness and happened to search Yelp for a nail salon. Although there were a limited number of reviews I decided to give it a chance because they spoke highly of it. I'm glad I did! The best park of the pedicure was the towel in some kind of green solution that smelled great and relaxed me even more. They have a great selection of colors! My gel manicure had some problems with the polish selection at first but in the end we worked it out and I love it. Mimi was patient, didn't try to force conversation and did a great job! After running around most of the day....I needed a little down time and to get out of th heat...I wondered into this nail salon. Lynn greeted me and set me up for a Pedi. She got the water the right temp and asked if I mind sitting for a while; heck yeah! She had me sitting for about 10 minutes and I was in heaven. I love when the tech let you enjoy and soak for your tired feet but it turned out she didnt take a break and needed to eat lunch (in my book win/win) The staff was friendly and Lynn chatted with me like I've been a customer for a long time and once she finished my pedi we started with my mani and again, another great experience. Came here on 6/9/17 the day before my brothers wedding to get a pedicure. I was a walk in and was greeted by someone. I told the lady I just wanted a pedicure and she told me to pick my color. I waited for about 5 minutes until I was told to go to the pedicure area. The lady who serviced me was Rose. She NEVER asked me what type of pedicure I would like and I had to ask her what do they offer. She told me they have a spa pedicure and the deluxe pedicure. I went with the deluxe which was $46. Now I have been to many nail shops all through Maryland and know what's included in the different spa packages and how long the service should take. This experience has been THE SHORTEST I have ever experience when choosing the best pedicure package they offer. The massage that was given didn't feel like anything, it felt like she was just playing with my feet smh. In addition, when it came to the leg butter she just slapped it on rubbed it around my lower leg and then wrapped it in a hot white towel which was absolutely messy (see pic). Overall the place looked clean and she used all sterile equipment to do my pedicure. Although she was nice I definitely will not be back. If you offer a top of the line pedicure your customer should get a top of the line experience and it felt like a $20 basic pedicure. read more

This USED to be my go to spot for a couple of years but after my experience last week I will NOT be returning. First of all they raised their prices, which isn't unheard of, BUT they are already expensive and they no longer do their loyalty card program where you could get $$$ off after 10 manicures or so. Secondly, my experience last week was so irritating. Late last year I got an acrylic overlay so getting a fill in with gel every 3 weeks and a pedi was my service. I kept hearing about SNS and I decided to try that in January.... honestly I wasn't impressed for the $60 price tag and they dip your fingers in the same container as everyone else, which I have been told is a big NO NO. So when I went last week I asked them to remove the SNS and do an overlay...the girl doing my pedi said they would ONLY charge me $10 to remove the SNS . When I am getting my SNS removed the tech (another lady) is trying to convince me to get SNS again and I said no and I stated the reasons I gave above. After 10 mins of her trying to convince me I said you know what just give me a gel manicure because I'm not going to be forced to do something I don't want! So she calls the previous tech to do my gel mani. When I am checking out she tells me they have to charge me $15 for the SNS removal since I got a gel mani and not an acrylic overlay. REALLY??? How petty can you be? That's how you treat a customer who has been coming to your shop for years? I paid and left quietly and decided I simply WILL NOT be returning to Watkins Park Nails as it is clear they are only concerned about money and NOT their customers. read more

I decided to come here because I was in the area and didn't feel like driving to my usual spot. No wait, which was good, and was acknowledged as soon as I walked in. I went for just a color change (hands and feet), I thought all nail salons generally have the same price for that service so I didn't bother asking or looking at the price menu before getting the service (BIG MISTAKE). When it was time to pay she told me $18 . I was like for a color change? Usually the salons only charge $5 for each so I was expecting $10 total. No big deal I'm probably going to have a clean paint job. Unfortunately, the paint job was not neat and 2 days letter it is already chipping. I won't be going back there again, I'm going to stick to my usual spot. The place is very clean and a very nice salon. There is one guy there and although he's really friendly and funny, he does a terrible job with pedicures. He chopped the cuticles on my pinky toes so now they're really hard as he cut way too much. I've never had rough heels until he he serviced me. When I got home and got in bed, I felt my feet getting caught on my sheets. Clearly he did a terrible job on my heels. Less ridicule and more customer service skills, please. Had four services done by the same person, nails and waxing. She waxed the left corner of my left lip, waxed the right side, then returned to the left, leaving a small portion un waxed and still hairy. I couldn't see it then but saw it clearly when I got home and viewed my brows and lips with my magnifying mirror. I returned to have just the hairy patch waxed, told her twice and put my finger where she needed to wax. She puts something damp on my lip and then applies wax to the entire left side!!! The hair stays, it seems the damp stuff acted as a barrier. I complain, she fusses that it will burn if she waxes it again. Then, she grabbed the tweezers to pluck the hair she couldn't see. That's when I walked out. One of the manicurist said something in their language (obviously about me) as I walked out and all of the Asian ladies laughed. I am not satisfied with the price but he did tell me up front. $86 for a gel mani and gel pedi (and i forgot to tip)...GOOD LAWD!!!!. its going to hurt my pockets to go back because i do think that is way too much. IDK...Ive gotten gel nails here about 3 times- usually one solid color, and something glittery on the ring fingers and was charged $50++. Extremely unprofessional. Doors open 20-30 minutes after "open time." Nail techs are extremely rude. I came in early one morning and no one arrived until 9:20. This has happened all of the times I came in at opening. They are always unpunctual. Sophia refused to take me because she had an "appointment," but I watched her the entire time I was there and all she did was hide in the back for over an hour. No "appointment." I expressed my concern to one of the younger, "cooler" nail techs and she told me Sophia was "feeding me bullshit." If you go to this salon expect to be on their time. They do not accommodate any type of requests. Jenny is very kind and she is the only tech I recommend. The salon in whole is unprofessional, rude, and not worth the time. I also go my eyebrows waxed and she did pretty good on those too. My only gripe is it is pricey for a pedicure with callous and eyebrows 46! This is probably one of the few nail salons with early Sunday hours, which is nice if you want to avoid the Saturday hustle and bustle. When you get a pedicure, they cover the the bowls with these disposable plastic coverings, so you know your feet are the only ones touching said plastic, genius! When I arrived, there was only one nail technician and she was feverishly calling in staff to assist. I was there almost an hour before they did my pedicure but my feet were soaking, I was chatting with a lady next to me and watching Netflix, I wasn't in a rush. Once more help came, I was done in less than an hour. I was very pleased with the quality of work and I think this may be my new nail shop. Word of advice: if you plan on going on a Sunday, unless you have lots of time to spare, make an appointment, which is what I will be doing moving forward. read more

First impressions matter. The salon is beautifully laid out, efficiently managed, and their color/service selection is broad: I went with OPI Bubble Bath for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The wait was no more than 5 minutes. John is a sweetheart and took his time to do a fabulous job. He applied just the right amount of scrubbing pressure, checked in on my water's temperature, asked how much I'd like my toenails clipped (if at all), and recommended I try a more complementary round fingernail shape, since I hadn't grown mine out. Christina finished my gel manicure in record time and is just as much of a sweetheart. Being the tomboy I am, it totally escaped me to bring flip-flops, so I put my Nikes back on about an hour later and ruined my big toes on the drive home. I doubled back and they fixed them at no extra cost. It's been barely 24 hours and the compliments are endless. Officially one of my go-tos for some self-care. read more

They did a pretty good job on my nails. The design was basic but I didn't ask to be wowed, just to have good looking hands and feet. Which was achieved. My original technician switched with another tech when a regular apparently came in an hour late for her appointment. She literally stood over my feet until he moved. Which was rude. It was even more rude that they never asked her to just have a seat. She then started to try and have a conversation with me, which I'm sure I made clear was not what I wanted. Maybe she heard the disdain dripping from my tongue, because she turned and started talking to the tech who abandoned me. In the end I liked my service. But I was displeased that it was interrupted the way it was. When I'm at a nail salon I like to have a relaxing experience. Not some rude customer deciding what my experience will be like. No apology. And it wasn't that cheap. I spent about $52 for a natural nail manicure and pedicure with a nail repair and design on my big toes. I really didn't mind the price. I just didn't like that. It was my first time there. We'll see. I really wanted to like this place. They have a ton of sample designs and it looks very pretty inside. read more

If I were you, I'd stay away from this place. They complain when you just want something more inexpensive done like a manicure or pedicure. They start speaking their home language right in front of you and you can tell they're upset when you ask for what you want and it doesn't add up to how much they want you to pay. They also continue to push to upsale you on some other service when you already told them what you wanted because they are trying to get you to spend more money. "Well, you need...." So, they don't listen to what you want and hem and haw with upset faces like it's not worth their time with you want something basic done. They'll tell you, "That won't last." Then they'll try to get you to do something more expensive because it "lasts longer" when really they are just trying to get you open up your wallet a little more and spend more money. I did not want them to use that metal "cheese shredder" on my feet because I find that in the long run the feet a harder, but the person who was working on my feet insisted. I felt pushed to avoid an argument when they didn't listen to what I wanted them to do. Not to mention that while leaving the ladies bathroom they had a crockpot (Yes, a crockpot!) out in the hallway on a Sunday afternoon 6/30/19. They were cooking up something and my leg brushed against this cooking item because I did not see it as it was low to the floor. I screamed as the pain hit and burned away the top layer of my skin. I got a second degree burn from this place and had to rush out of the shop as I was in shock and my leg was in incredible pain. They offered to aloe vera, but I'm allergic to that so I went to CVS to get items to treat my second degree burn. It was very unprofessional of this nail shop to have a crockpot in the hallway where customers could be injured. In terms of the service that I received, the nails and toes came out looking nice, but I spent way more than I wanted to due to the upsale on both with them frowning up their face and arguing with each other in their language right in front of me when they did not want to do what I had asked them to do. I was most hurt by the fact that I was burned and my leg is still scarred from deciding to go to this nail shop. It was my first time there and it was the last as well. If you go to this nail shop be ready to contact your local lawyer because you may end up with a lawsuit on your hands. They were unprofessional and it was not safe here. While they acted in a caring way to try to treat my burn, yes they did, but they should not have been cooking in the hallway outside the women's bathroom! I can't explain to you how much pain and agony you feel when you see your skin fall off. If I could upload pictures of the burn here then I would. I am still treating this burn. As a young woman having a burn on my leg is not attractive and it makes me so upset that I decided to enter into this shop in the first place to get my nails done. It's just not worth it y'all.
