I miss living close to wava, it's like the gem of upper Greenville. The place is tiny situated between a few shops and the service is fast but the food is BOMB. The food is always on point and fast, the tri burough with extra falafel is my go to but if I'm feeling healthy they have a hummus bowl that you can add meat to that is so flavorful. Their proprietary white sauce is a must and the red spicy sauce is a perfect kick. My fiance and I still make the drive out to Dallas to get this at least a few times a month, it's a must try. read more

Visited on a Saturday while running errands. My sister and I were looking for something quick to eat and she found this place via Yelp. Menus were displayed on the counter and also above the counter. I saw veggie burger and asked what was in it but they didn't have it so we moved on to either the falafel wrap or falafel burger. In the end, they were pretty much the same thing so we went with the falafel burger and shared a large fry, extra crispy, to go. We sat in the car while waiting for the food, which took about 7 or so minutes. The food came with a hot sauce and a white sauce. Fries were hot and crispy but lacked salt. We were under the impression that the falafel burger was going to be a patty, not 4 falafel looking donuts on a bun. The burger wasn't anything spectacular, it was good but simple. There was mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. The white sauce was pretty good and the hot sauce had a lot of peppers that kind of just sat on your tongue. It was fine to me but if you're not into hot, spicy things, it may not be for you. read more

Came here late night with friends and it reminded me of my nights in Tel Aviv. Food has the authentic taste you need to forget about any other foods. Service was fast and the gentleman in the counter made us feel at home asking us if everything was pleasing to us and that say's a lot a business that cares on the spot. I would give this spot a solid 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up! I came in around 11pm on a Saturday night on my way home from the airport and there weren't a ton of people in the store, although it was buzzing outside the café with many Saturday night life explorers. I was appreciative of the 2 parking spots designated in front of the store because had it not been for them, parking would have been a hassle. The space is fairly small, but it has a cozy environment. When I finally ordered, the staff inside was very polite and genuinely hospitable, even allowing me to customize my order so that I could take advantage of more veggie friendly options. I ended up ordering a green smoothie and veggie plate with eggplant/ falafel which came out quickly (about 10 minutes) after placing the order. The total came out to about $25 for the two. I was thankful that they offered some vegetarian options for customers that don't eat meat; the falafel was crunchy, and the eggplant was tender; I would love to see some fresh vegetables (ex: as simple as a fresh side salad of maybe spinach, onion, and olive) and a little bit more spicing in future, but overall, what they offer(ed) isn't anything that a little salt and pepper couldn't boost. Additionally, the green smoothie was sweet and refreshing, and I think it either could use a couple more fresh fruits blended in (I think it may have just been a couple different juices blended together) or simplifying by offering just orange or a singular juice on the menu so that it's less sweet. Overall though, I would recommend this spot if you need a late night meal as the service and food are probably one of the better options available! read more

It had cubes of lamb and beef gyro, chicken gyro and falafel served with their specialty seasoned rice and pita bread. The rice, meats and sauces were seasoned with unique spices and were excellent! I was also surprised that I was able to find a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. the positive to being the only ones there was that the owner walked us through the menu. I had the beef/lamb gyro meat plate and it was not bad. The meat came diced and over a bed of rice along with diced tomatoes and other vegetables. It also came with a small plain salad. the meat was nicely seasoned, but it wasn't as much food as I thought you would get for the price. Just ordered delivery from Wava. Ordered the chicken over rice, and it was surprisingly pretty good. I tried this place back when it opened a few yrs ago. I wanted to really like it back then, but did not enjoy it because the chicken was fatty. After trying a lot of other Mediterranean/street food venues since then, I thought I'd give Wava a try again, and I'm glad I did. Relatively speaking, this is pretty good. Chicken is seasoned well (and not fatty). Much more flavor than Halal Guy's, whose chicken tastes pretty much like boiled meat. Wava's rice is flavored well...dare I say there may be a sprinkle of Shaan Masala biryani mix in there? Either way, I am glad to support a local small business who has weathered through this Rona mess this past year. read more

This was NOT good. I got the chicken/gyro/falafel plate. Took one bite, and it tasted exactly like the burnt bullshit I knew I would be cringing and belching up later. And, now is later. After ONE bite of this (I didn't know I was ordering shitty stir fry.) Not anywhere, on any menu description, does it mention bell peppers in this specific plate. It's hacked up and mixed in, it can't be easily picked out. The gyro and chicken weren't cubed, but totally chopped and minced. Why would you ruin it like that?!? DO NOT waste your time or money. This place is a great late night option if you want something different to eat. I only get the skewers though and haven't tried anything else. Meats are juicy and customer service is great. My girlfriend had trouble with ordering and placed a wrong order. They were able to figure something out and not fight us on it. Kitchen though will close at a certain time so you can't call in orders all the way up until 3 am though, so keep that in mind. read more

I had this place bookmarked on Yelp for awhile and decided tonight was the night to make my 1 mile journey to this place. Tonight, a great decision was made. I confidently placed my order for the beef and lamb gyro plate over rice with white sauce and a little red on the side for good measure. I drove home with anticipation surging through me as the aroma filled my car. I immediately tore into it when I got in the door. The flavors of the meat and the rice were impeccable! Savory, flavorful and melt in your mouth goodness. I loved the coolness of the lettuce too. I was craving tomato so I cut up one and added it to my dish. I will definitely return. We came here cause they were open late and we were really wanting Arabic food and a plus that it was halal but we were sorely disappointed. This is our cultures food and we know when it's done right. There was way too much cinnamon in the rice and the falafel has a strange flavor combination and the hummus was watery. We did come right before closing so it's possible they were just tired and closing up, I do understand that but still it was very disappointing. Sorry Mr. Ali, I have had many different foods from several cultures, middle eastern wise, the quality was not good. So yes maybe talk to your cooks and have some retraining because not only me but the people I was with coming from 3 different countries ourselves felt it was very subpar. Great halal food! =] I got #1 Lamb and beef with rice and side of salad. Meat was tender and seasoned very well. Definitely hit the spot. The place is really tiny. Expect to take to go if during busy hours. Slim parking spots in front of store. You may just have to park in the neighborhoods near by, which is what I did. Went when only 2 other people were there. Wait for food was about 20 min or more. They were serving 3 people in my party. The wait is worth it for the quality. Plus I think there was only one cook back there. Banana smoothie was pretty good. Mango nectar juice is delicious. They had baklava, but I did not buy. To me it looked dry. Maybe I'll try next time. Few things that -1 star: - Floor was really sticky, couldn't see any visible food or liquid on floor though. Otherwise place is clean. - AC was weak or nonexistent.
