My review is based on food sold at my workplace through Fooda and not dining in at the restaurant. I ordered the chicken wrap and was very disappointed. Aside from the blandness of my wrap, there was very little chicken, no tomato or other vegetables except for lettuce. The white and red sauces also lacked flavor and depth. I gave one star because Yelp requires reviewers to make a selection. If I could, I'd give half a star for their effort. You're better off going to Little Greek. read more

This place is awesome...I think I just found my local to go neighborhood spot. I got the beef/lamb over rice and my wife got the chicken gyro salad. Food was super flavorful and I would recommend. Very good and decent prices. It's hard to find Halal in this area that is actually seasoned well with flavor but this one is good. I had the Gyro Fries that come with waffle fries which is different but welcomed. The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars was the portion size. The Gyro fries are listed as a main menu item but the portion was extremely small for a main menu item. It felt more like a side item. Ordered a Mediterranean veggie platter, a falafel wrap, and a large fry. The veggie platter was missing the garden salad, grape leaves, and Greek dressing. I was gonna give 5 stars because the chicken and lamb/beef is really good. but their hummus is literally all tahini! Like it was totally liquid which is the consistency of tahini. it seems like they ran out of hummus and employees were too busy or lazy to make a new batch of hummus so they just poured tahini into a container and sprinkled some red stuff on top to make it look like hummus and thought that the costumer wouldn't know the difference. But I'm middle eastern I know the difference. This place is amazing and definitely is my new go to spot for gyro over rice. The portion is generous and the price is aligned with competitors. Expect to pay about $10 for lunch or dinner and depending on how hungry you are, you can make two meals out of it! The rice is flavorful and the gyro meat was out of this world. I was craving falafels and around my area I only know of two halal places (Used to be a huge fan of Halal Guys). I discovered this place by driving which is the best way to find hideouts that are the bomb.com The place is so fresh, modern, and looks like a Japanese store inside. I ordered the Falafel platter which was 8.99 which is cheaper than Halal Guys. I love their unique sauce, the rice is so flavorful, I can taste the masala and bay leaf. My favorite is the falafel it's not just a plain deep fry, they put spices and seasonings to make up for the delicious taste served with lettuce and your choice of sauce. I chose the vegan white sauce and tiny bit of hot sauce. I will go ahead when I am craving halal. read more

I've been a Halal Guys fan for a while since I miss NYC food cart stuff all the time, and I'd been hearing good things about this place so I decided to give the new competition a try. I have to say, Wava has the most authentic chicken over rice I've had down here so far, excellent. And the beef/lamb gyro was tender and juicy; only critique is that it could have had more veggies/more variety available. The key is that the food is made to order, so you don't get instant gratification BUT it is very worth the wait. As always, make sure you get extra white sauce! read more

Kebab on a stick came on a hotdog bun with tomatoes and onion. Thought it was odd. 5/10 Lamb and beef gyro 7/10. While it was tasty and had flavor, pita was soggy and contents of pita spilled out. Just moved into the neighborhood about a month ago and have been giving every place in the area a try. After having the worse "Chinese" food I have ever had in my life and horrible service at the "Chinese" food establishment I was a little hesitant to try anything else in the area but one night we decided to give Wava a try. I ordered Falafel over rice dish with a banana/strawberry smoothie and it was absolutely delicious. My partner ordered lamb gyro and it was amazing as well. The flavors are great and the white sauce was amazing with my falafel as well. They made everything fresh but it still doesn't take a long time to get your food. We have since come back a few times to try our new things as well but so far the falafel is my personal favorite. The owner is phenomenal and very welcoming and enthusiastic every time we've come by. We love the neighborhood even more now that we have found a place that we like and will be regulars at with great customer service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants something flavorful, quick and filling. Thanks for everything Hava, we will be back very very soon! read more

Is it better during the middle of the day? I felt like everything I ate came out of the fryer, prior to cleaning the grease trap. I ordered a chicken skewer, overcooked, which came in a generic hotdog bun. The fries were limp, cold, and I'm fairly sure that one of them called out to me "help, i'm drowning in grease!" Not only is the food truly amazing, and I find it to be authentic yet a slightly higher take on Mediterranean/middle eastern food. Mostly I'm making this post because, I've never been there but I've DoorDashed them several times lately and this time I asked for a change in the order and THEY ACTUALLY FULFILLED THE REQUEST! I really dont have the money to use doordash, but once a week I treat myself and Wava made it such a true value and I could actually feel the customer service with the delivered final product. There is something so magical about it. Deeply savory, perfectly steamed. It tastes as if someone's Persian grandmother made it. I usually end up eating both my portion and my husband's when he's not looking. I've tried both the chicken and gyro bowls. I keep meaning to try the sandwich form, but I just can't let go of that rice. We tried this place on a whim, on our way back from errands, and so glad we did. I'd rate 4.5 stars so far. The concept and menu is similar to the Halal Guys, but the quality is much better. We got the combination bowl, which included chopped lamb/beef gyro, chicken gyro and falafel over rice and lettuce, with bits of tomato. While highly spiced (and flavorful!), the dish was not overly greasy and was easy on the stomach for hearty fare. As a bonus, the owner was very welcoming. This is the type of place I like to support - small local business, great upbeat attitude, and excellent quality food. We'll definitely return. I used to go to Betty's for my late night meal after the gym that's a few doors down from this place. One day, I decided to give this place a chance just so I can try something new. And by God, what a great chance that I took. It's literally my favorite spot to eat. The flavor of the food is impeccable and unbelievably good. Seriously. He also hooked it up with extra sauce per suggestion. I tried the chicken platter (the owner's suggestion after I asked him what was his favorite) and, just seriously man, it is soooo good. If you want to just get your feet wet and not too sure about the place, try the chicken or lamb/beef kebabs. It's in a hot dog buns with sauces on it. I got my brother to try to chicken kebab and he's pretty much sold on the place that we are asking each other when the other is going to this place. Haha. Even when I use Door Dash to order the food (when I'm feeling super lazy to not drive right down the road to get it haha), per my request to have extra protein and sauce (they don't have an option for it in the app) they still obliged. And I think the most important part of it all, besides the amazing food, is the service. I got a chance to speak with the owner while waiting for my food and he's an awesome person. His character stands out as a good person and you can see that when you speak with him. He's very attentive to your order when it comes out to make sure it is right to give it that final check. Was happy to see that they also have reasonably priced cheeseburgers ($5.99) and hot dogs (2.49). My friend had the hot dog and fries. Fries were hot but had some unnatural yellow color. They don't have Hienz ketchup. Friend said he was surprised the hot dog was good. I was surprised to be so disappointed in the 5-bite burger. 1/2 was medium and 1/2 was rare. Like the ketchup,they went cheap and generic on the cheese. I got some on my fingers and the cheap napkins left white pieces glued to my digits. Food was top notch with plenty of meat and rice and they give you as much sauce as you want. The second thing I really liked was the service. The employee made a minor mistake with our orders but was vigilant about fixing it and made us a whole new order for free and let us keep the original order as well.
