We had a party of 7, too big for an inside table to eat at a reasonable hour, We had to be seated outside to eat sooner, at least it wasn't in the 90s. Ordered hot honey Brie, pretzel beer cheese, gyro meatballs, 2 rustic tortellini, one with chicken shawarma, flounder not blackened, light seasoning and lemon wedge, quinoa bowl with salmon, chicken shawarma, goat cheese salad, Dijon cucumber salad with salmon, pesto fettuccini with gyro meat. The hot honey Brie was so yummy, big Texas toast points were good too. The pretzel sticks with the beer cheese was packed full of flavor, the cheese that is. The meatballs were big, so-so. Not much to them. Goat cheese salad was good, vinaigrette was good. The Dijon cucumber salad with salmon wasn't bad. The house salad was just okay. Quinoa bowl was plentiful, just flat on flavoring for me. Needed something, heat or anything. Got some a ramekin of spicy aioli, but it wasn't spicy at all and didn't do much for the quinoa bowl. The tortellini tomato sauce was really good, super flavorful. Shawarma meat wasn't too bad. The tortellini flour seemed a tad hard and thick. The fettuccini with gyro, flounder and Dijon cucumber salad were all good as well. Service was good.

On a 4 days trip we ended up having 2 dinners including one birthday dinner. We loved it that much. Unique food items, unique flavours and definitely delicious. Service top notch, very warm atmosphere! Patio on 8th street will sure elevate your evening experience!

While visiting Holland, my friends and I enjoyed a nice dinner. The restaurant was bustling with a full crowd of diners. The bar is the main focus toward the front. It was a little more quiet as we walked toward the back. I'm glad we sat there as it was less noisy. The room looked very nice with a lot of varnished wood. It is suitable for locals, visitors, special occasion or a simple dinner. The cuisine was fresh and tasty. With a little Mediterranean touch, everything was interesting and satisfying. Our server offered great service. It was busy but she handled everything nicely.

Stop in to Waverly Stone for some excellent Mediterranean fare! The food was delicious. The service was excellent and Jazz took great care of us. We sat outside on an absolutely perfect day. We ordered the Greek Salad and added the Chicken Shawarma. There was an abundance of chicken and the dish encompassed the perfect harmony of so many flavors. We also ordered the Chicken Curry Gyro... Amazing! Stop in for some cocktails and definitely try the French cider, it was delicious!

(Pfft, not this review accidentally sitting in my drafts for almost a year because I was waiting on my boyfriend's food pics that apparently never existed) If you want a gorgeous patio view by the cobblestone street, this would be the place! We dined al fresco for our visit and had such a lovely time. Our server was Landon and he was training a new server, so they made sure to pay good attention to us, aside from how busy it was that evening. One slip up though was that we had to grab our silverware from the bar cart because we hadn't gotten any and we hadn't seen them in a few minutes. We got this meatball dish as an appetizer and that was probably my favorite part of the meal. The sauce was just so savory and delectable and the meatballs are a good side. I also love being able to mop up the extra sauce with the toasted bread! Then for our main course we both got pasta dishes. I don't remember much about them already because they were just fine, nothing to really jump for joy about. One of our dishes had lots of peppers on it, which is always nice. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that with the weather being nice, there was a surge in business so things might not have been top notch. I'd certainly come back again if I visit Holland any time in the near future!

This was the absolute best restaurant we ate at in Holland, Michigan. We went to a few other restaurants and we were mostly disappointed with what was offered in the town, but our last night on a whim we decided to try Waverly Stone and oh my goodness it was so good. We've already told everyone we know about how wonderful this place was. The service was excellent, and the food quality was perfect. The portions were great and perfect for sharing.

I visited with a four-person group on a Thursday evening. My reservation via Yelp worked flawlessly, and the host was waiting to seat us. Server Landon, too, was ready when we were, knowledgeable and efficient. The space, which I dimly remember as the 8th Street Grille, is pleasant on the eye, not too loud, and comfortable. The food, currently with a "Mediterranean" theme, was excellent (see my photos). Therese H.'s gluten-free pasta request was handled flawlessly. My seared swordfish with root veggies and risotto not only was fresh and flavorful, but was presented well, with a little verticality and a seared lemon, good-looking and tasty comfort food for fall. Even with a bottle of wine, the pricing felt reasonable for a weeknight. Thank you, WS, for a fine experience.

Stuffed artichokes, good but very small

The menu has changed since our last visit here. It is now Mediterranean, and also has many seafood options, plus smashed burgers. We had made a reservation but the dining room was not full at all. It seemed very quiet and slow for a Friday night. We started by ordering an appetizer, stuffed artichokes. The two artichokes were good but were very small, not what we were expecting for 14.50. There were three of us, and after we had shared the two artichokes between us, our server had mentioned that we could have ordered an additional artichoke for $3.50. Had we known that when we ordered we definitely would have. It took quite a while for our appetizer to be served, so we ended up not ordering dinner but only a couple of drinks before leaving. Nice ambiance and comfortable seating.

Wonderful food and great ambience!! Staff was super friendly and their menu had so many great selections it was hard to pick! I had the pesto fettuccini with chicken and my husband got the braised short rib. The fettuccini was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had and the goat cheese with it completed the flavor. We also ordered Brussel sprouts and a baguette on the side. Our only disappointment was the potatoes and carrots were not cooked all the way. Great selection of draft beer. Overall amazing restaurant!!

Chicken Shawarma plate and beef short rib

This restaurant had beautiful outdoor seating. The food was good, the chicken Shawarma was a little dry. Short rib was very tender and juicy. The risotto that came with the chicken Shawarma was very creamy and flavorful. Service was fine, I would come again.

Visited with a group of 10 for a birthday on a Saturday evening. There was a 2 hour wait, but it was 100% worth it, and also our fault for not making reservations. It was a beautiful evening so we wandered around and slightly spoiled our appetites at Whits, first. Promptly at the time they said, we were seated and let me just say, the remodel is gorgeous! It's such a lovely vibe. Water glasses are placed on the table and the server brings carafes of water. I also ordered an old fashioned which was lovely. We opted to skip appetizers and just went straight for mains. There were so many good options it made it difficult tk choose. My friend is gluten intolerant and loves how many options they have! My fettuccine alfredo was perfection. Delicious! And, because we didn't all order appetizers, I also wanted to try the tuscan beer cheese and pretzels. Both were so good, but I managed to share some with which the table. Everyone's portion sizes were plentiful and everyone left happy. Some of our party also indulged in dessert. The creme brulee was lovely and large enough that we could have shared. The crack on the top was lovely. 10/10 great experience and shoutout to Alexis who took wonderful care of our table and Chris who is also fantastic

First time trying Waverly Stone! Hidden gem nestled downtown Holland. Lot of great, fresh Mediterranean options. A must try for their drinks! The portions were the perfect size. Definitely give this one a try outside of the more well known places downtown.

Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

I think the Meyer lemon butter made the dish was so oddly sweet it mixed in with the rice underneath. No one was there but the owner picked up the phone and was able to arrange a great table for us right in the bar area! Walking in I was immersed in the moody and dark space, brightened by pops of red and other Asian accents. The bar is beautiful and the bartender was hard at work cranking out cocktails. Lindsay was our server, and she was an absolute breath of fresh air, clearly passionate about her role in providing the guest experience, and frankly, she made all the difference in our experience. It all started when she saw our boys sitting at the low two top and offered them a private dining experience right next to us! They downed so much sushi, I nearly had to take out a second mortgage, but I'd happily pay it over and over to see the looks on their faces at 5 and 8 again! To say that a core memory was made that night is a massive understatement, as we have not stopped hearing about this since we returned and my son even made my mother walk him back to the restaurant the next day just to see if he could say hi! She took incredible care of the grown ups too. Helped with menu selections, addressed all requests swiftly and handled any issues with actual regard for the feedback being provided, which is becoming more and more rare in today's industry. On the food, we ordered most the apps including wings, green beans, cucumbers, shrimp, and spring rolls, and then we added the crab noodles, yellow curry and a few sushi rolls. The cucumbers and green beans stole the show, with the shrimp and crab noodles not too far behind. The sushi was decent, but I found the rice a bit gummy and didn't really get a sense of each element within them. The wings and curry were a bit bland for my liking but the wings benefitted by the additional sauce with them. The curry needed a bit more heat, fish sauce, and maybe a hit of vinegar. As someone who LOVES Asian food, this satisfied the itch after mainly eating American food for so many days, but I'd realistically rate it a 3.5 stars, especially considering the price and value. I'd happily return on my next visit to Saugatuck and suggest it to friends too. Keep crushing the service game!

It's such a fun, immersive atmosphere. The food? Amazing. The drinks? Delicious. And the service? Even better. Everything just flowed and made for such a great night. Definitely one of those places you go for the full experience, not just the meal.

I've been here with small groups and large groups and we have always received great service. The menu states that since everything is made from scratch it might take up to an hour to get your food but it has never taken that long when we have been here. On this visit we started with two orders of nachos, requesting no meat in one order. The nachos here are seriously my favorite that I have ever had from any restaurant. Ingredients include roasted corn, black beans,, red onion, cheese, lettuce, pico, cilantro, and lime chipotle cream, and choice of meats. We ordered ground beef on one order and the other meatless. After the nachos we ordered a Fun Guy pizza and a burrito, which was huge! We all shared the pizza and burrito. We enjoyed goat cheese cheesecake for dessert. It was wonderful. This place always has the best food of any bar I ever go to. A must try when you are in Holland.

You can get your typical dive bar fare such as burgers, pizza, pulled pork, etc, but they also have some very tasty entrees and specials. Always look forward to going Itty Bitty Bar. The salad was good - I loved the dressing. It tasted a little salty but I'd get it again. The pizza was also nice - super thin and crusty. The dough is just simple and straightforward. Toppings were standard too - a classic pizza. Overall great restaurant! One of the best in downtown.

Nate and I…read morewere able to get seats at the bar but it sounded like there was a bit of a wait for the patio. This place seems to be known for their pizza, but we had just eaten pizza the day before, so we opted for a side of fries, a side Caesar salad, and an order of the wings. Well, we ended up getting full portions of the side items, which was a bit of a bummer as we weren't super hungry plus it was more expensive. We'd just be more specific next time. The food was good, but we really should have ordered pizza. The Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, but had a LOT of anchovies. I personally really like anchovies, but this was a bit much. The wings were huge and kind of gamey, and the skin was not crispy so they were not my favorite to eat. The fries were tasty but nothing special. I will give 5 stars for the beer! I had the lake noir, which was a blueberry/blackberry beer and the other fruit beer which was watermelon flavored. They were both fruity and refreshing and I really enjoyed them. I would come back for the pizza, which seemed a bit pricey but looked delicious.
