    Greek Salad with chicken Shawarma
    Beth C.

Stop in to Waverly Stone for some excellent Mediterranean fare! The food was delicious. The service was excellent and Jazz took great care of us. We sat outside on an absolutely perfect day. We ordered the Greek Salad and added the Chicken Shawarma. There was an abundance of chicken and the dish encompassed the perfect harmony of so many flavors. We also ordered the Chicken Curry Gyro... Amazing! Stop in for some cocktails and definitely try the French cider, it was delicious!

This was the absolute best restaurant we ate at in Holland, Michigan. We went to a few other restaurants and we were mostly disappointed with what was offered in the town, but our last night on a whim we decided to try Waverly Stone and oh my goodness it was so good. We've already told everyone we know about how wonderful this place was. The service was excellent, and the food quality was perfect. The portions were great and perfect for sharing.

Wonderful food and great ambience!! Staff was super friendly and their menu had so many great selections it was hard to pick! I had the pesto fettuccini with chicken and my husband got the braised short rib. The fettuccini was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had and the goat cheese with it completed the flavor. We also ordered Brussel sprouts and a baguette on the side. Our only disappointment was the potatoes and carrots were not cooked all the way. Great selection of draft beer. Overall amazing restaurant!!

I visited with a four-person group on a Thursday evening. My reservation via Yelp worked flawlessly, and the host was waiting to seat us. Server Landon, too, was ready when we were, knowledgeable and efficient. The space, which I dimly remember as the 8th Street Grille, is pleasant on the eye, not too loud, and comfortable. The food, currently with a "Mediterranean" theme, was excellent (see my photos). Therese H.'s gluten-free pasta request was handled flawlessly. My seared swordfish with root veggies and risotto not only was fresh and flavorful, but was presented well, with a little verticality and a seared lemon, good-looking and tasty comfort food for fall. Even with a bottle of wine, the pricing felt reasonable for a weeknight. Thank you, WS, for a fine experience.

Stuffed artichokes, good but very small

The menu has changed since our last visit here. It is now Mediterranean, and also has many seafood options, plus smashed burgers. We had made a reservation but the dining room was not full at all. It seemed very quiet and slow for a Friday night. We started by ordering an appetizer, stuffed artichokes. The two artichokes were good but were very small, not what we were expecting for 14.50. There were three of us, and after we had shared the two artichokes between us, our server had mentioned that we could have ordered an additional artichoke for $3.50. Had we known that when we ordered we definitely would have. It took quite a while for our appetizer to be served, so we ended up not ordering dinner but only a couple of drinks before leaving. Nice ambiance and comfortable seating.

The drinks and food were very good! Had the Hot Honey Salmon and Waverly Sangria. I When dining out, usually chose a nice salad. The server was friendly, great atmosphere. I will definitely recommend and return!

Visited with a group of 10 for a birthday on a Saturday evening. There was a 2 hour wait, but it was 100% worth it, and also our fault for not making reservations. It was a beautiful evening so we wandered around and slightly spoiled our appetites at Whits, first. Promptly at the time they said, we were seated and let me just say, the remodel is gorgeous! It's such a lovely vibe. Water glasses are placed on the table and the server brings carafes of water. I also ordered an old fashioned which was lovely. We opted to skip appetizers and just went straight for mains. There were so many good options it made it difficult tk choose. My friend is gluten intolerant and loves how many options they have! My fettuccine alfredo was perfection. Delicious! And, because we didn't all order appetizers, I also wanted to try the tuscan beer cheese and pretzels. Both were so good, but I managed to share some with which the table. Everyone's portion sizes were plentiful and everyone left happy. Some of our party also indulged in dessert. The creme brulee was lovely and large enough that we could have shared. The crack on the top was lovely. 10/10 great experience and shoutout to Alexis who took wonderful care of our table and Chris who is also fantastic

First time trying Waverly Stone! Hidden gem nestled downtown Holland. Lot of great, fresh Mediterranean options. A must try for their drinks! The portions were the perfect size. Definitely give this one a try outside of the more well known places downtown.

We were in town visiting for a night and wanted somewhere within walking distance to our hotel. We wanted somewhere that took reservations but wasn't necessarily a super upscale place and Waverly Stone was the perfect fit! We arrived a little early for our reservation, but they happily seated us early! The inside was very spacious and clean with the table appropriately spaced out (I hate when places squeeze tables in, making it a maze to walk around). Our service was rather slow, but we weren't in any hurry. We both ordered drinks, I really enjoyed the Pom Parade and Blueberry Fitzgerald. For food my husband loved the Kofta burger with fries! We Weill definitely return to Waverly stone the next time we're in Holland!

My family and I came here for a weekend lunch. We came in a bit after their opening at 11am on a Saturday, and sat at a booth which is raised from the floor. The inside is very nicely decorated with a bar area to the right in the front. The food portions were large, and it was nice to have a Mediterranean inspired menu in downtown Holland where there are more pub or American food style places. Service was excellent. Their menu indicates a when certain dishes may take a bit longer to make which we appreciated. This is a more formal place for lunch, prices are higher but the food was good with large portions. Lunch for 3 people who got entrees was about $80 total not including tip.

Food and service were great! They have the best Tallow fries I've ever tasted. I will be back next time we are in Holland.

There are stairs or you can take the elevator to the basement level. After you've arrived downstairs you can find the door with the black lock symbol and KNOCK THREE TIMES. They will let you in and welcome you to find a seat. They have a water station where you can help yourself and some tables and a couch and bar seating. The menu is pretty fantastic. We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. Our waitress was really nice and overall service was quick. We ordered the Lemon Chicken and the Wedge Salad. The reason why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars is mainly because of the chicken dish. I was expecting it to be more citrusy, but I feel like whatever lemon flavor it was meant to have was lost by some sort of sweetness. I think the Meyer lemon butter made the dish was so oddly sweet it mixed in with the rice underneath. Overall, this dish was sadly disappointing since we were looking forward to something savory and herby but got what felt like a sugar bomb for chicken. The salad was good and loaded with toppings, however, I felt like there was way too much dressing that drowned the salad once it was all mixed. If possible, I would get the dressing on the side. All in all, great ambiance, good service and a wonderful location. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong things. Still worth checking out, if you're in the area!

No one was there but the owner picked up the phone and was able to arrange a great table for us right in the bar area! Walking in I was immersed in the moody and dark space, brightened by pops of red and other Asian accents. The bar is beautiful and the bartender was hard at work cranking out cocktails. Lindsay was our server, and she was an absolute breath of fresh air, clearly passionate about her role in providing the guest experience, and frankly, she made all the difference in our experience. It all started when she saw our boys sitting at the low two top and offered them a private dining experience right next to us! They downed so much sushi, I nearly had to take out a second mortgage, but I'd happily pay it over and over to see the looks on their faces at 5 and 8 again! To say that a core memory was made that night is a massive understatement, as we have not stopped hearing about this since we returned and my son even made my mother walk him back to the restaurant the next day just to see if he could say hi! She took incredible care of the grown ups too. Helped with menu selections, addressed all requests swiftly and handled any issues with actual regard for the feedback being provided, which is becoming more and more rare in today's industry. On the food, we ordered most the apps including wings, green beans, cucumbers, shrimp, and spring rolls, and then we added the crab noodles, yellow curry and a few sushi rolls. The cucumbers and green beans stole the show, with the shrimp and crab noodles not too far behind. The sushi was decent, but I found the rice a bit gummy and didn't really get a sense of each element within them. The wings and curry were a bit bland for my liking but the wings benefitted by the additional sauce with them. The curry needed a bit more heat, fish sauce, and maybe a hit of vinegar. As someone who LOVES Asian food, this satisfied the itch after mainly eating American food for so many days, but I'd realistically rate it a 3.5 stars, especially considering the price and value. I'd happily return on my next visit to Saugatuck and suggest it to friends too. Keep crushing the service game!
