HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: Hostess got phone order incorrectly, and then during pickup went quickly through the order...she showed very quickly that all the items were on the same bag. What we didn't see nor imagine was that yes all items were on the same bag...but inside the bag we never expected EVERYTHING TO BE MIXED UP with an Extra hot sauce all over it. (Extra Hot sauce was supposed to be only on one of the 3 items not everything) Manager was contacted and he stated that the error occurred on the pickup and not on the order placed (Obviously the root cause was during the order). Then cited a store policy that wasn't explained when placing order, when picking up, or even when paying....he mentioned that after the fact. And yes, with an "I don't care" + "Im always right" attitude... We just lost $50 on a $100 order...on our first order. Placed the order with an estimate of 15-20 minutes. Received a notice 3 mins later that the order was ready. Paying this kind of money to have your food sit and either get cold or continue to cook in the steamer bag is unacceptable. I get there and the person just tells me it's mostly warm. Growing up on the MS gulf coast, it's hard to find good seafood around town. I've never liked "boils in a bag" because it's not what I'm used to. I'm used to a true Cajun seafood with corn, potatoes, garlic, etc. I've tried many seafood restaurants in the area and eaves is the best I've had. The oysters are tasty and the drinks are strong. Also enjoyed the fried catfish, boiled shrimp, black muscles, and black crab legs. I will definitely be returning. read more

Located in a decent strip mall the interior of this place is huge. Staff greetings upon entering are friendly and accommodating. Our server (and her trainee whom wasn't allowed to talk) were friendly and delivered great service. The food? The menu is "chock" full of seafood delights. A non-seafood person will find it rough here unless you like chicken nuggets? The raw oysters were unusually large which I like since you feel like you get your moneys worth. The clam chowder soup was very tasty but more potato then clam but still good and thick. The A combo boil (crab, lobster tail, shrimp, corn and potatoes was overly filling. The sauces garlic butter with bay seasoning done just right. Served hot and fresh was exactly as it should have been. So why a 4 instead of 5? The music in the place leaves a lot to be desired. I like background music not blasting versions of hip hop or 2022 new age whatever. The volume should also be below NASA rocket lift off decibels. Maybe something more appropriate to be enjoyed by all age groups. Will definitely be back but please turn down the volume and change the station. read more

This is not my first time to Waves Crab House and it wont be my last. Jennifer our server is an amazing employee who is friendly, kind and takes care of her customers. She even remembered my name from the last time I was there and everything we ordered was received as ordered. She pays attention to your needs and makes you feel welcome. The food is delicious and fresh and they will make it to your liking!! Drinks are cold and flavorful. You get alot of food for the price and if you aren't a seafood lover, they have other options. We (a group of 12) just had lunch. The food was very good. Fried, grilled or boiled. The menu is large. Some people couldn't believe that "zero spice " was an option. They were pleasantly surprised. I found Waves Crab house accidentally and I am so glad I did. A place like this is exactly what we needed in the area. They offer seafood bags and trays as well as wings, oysters, hush puppies etc. I've come maybe 10 times in the last 8 months and I've never been disappointed. Delicious. I loved the separation of seasoning and spice level, it was super helpful. The boil was cooked wonderfully and displayed effectively. We went here on a Saturday around 530 service wasn't great. They overcooked the clam strips and they had some people singing live music and the place just isn't big enough so it made it super noisy. They wouldn't combine the sauces which there's another one in Brandon that does the menu is almost exactly the same. For Cajun? Meh. Hard to write a review for this place. Service was better than average and the staff was friendly. These are the bright spots but I gotta be honest about the rest. The atmosphere is a real missed opportunity. Too many tables and no real vibe of hanging out with friends. It could really use some high top tables and a bar area that doesn't look like a hotel bar. Classic 70's rock is ok and all but did not contribute to the experience. The whole place felt sterile with a sprinkling of Home Goods decor on the walls. As for food, a potato and corn come with full pound boils. Potato is undersized and the corn was ok. The Blue crab was barely allowable in size. As a Maryland native, the 3 I got would get thrown back to grow. Seasoning is not memorable and lacked an authentic Cajun bite. I got Extra Hot and was mild, at best. Like other reviews here, skip the calamari. A rubber band in Slap Yo Mama seasoning would be better. Shrimp wasn't bad but had to order a side of potatoes just to make up for size of the included one. Bottom line here... I want it to succeed but lots of work to do. Add Old Bay options for those seeking crab - source larger potatoes - work on Cajun seasoning, and don't waste efforts on small Blue Crab. Just say you don't have them if not passable. Consider reworking the environment with some gathering areas and maybe the place can thrive. Mix up the music to make it part of the experience. For now, I'll pass on recommending but willing to return in a few months to see if they have found their stride. read more

Great new seafood boil location. You can select your seafood favorites with a selected spice and heat. They add in corn and potatoes for every pound you get. Got the snow crab, headless shrimp and sausage. The food came out quick. It was hot and very tasty. The wait staff are very attentive and serious about ensuring your satisfaction. Our Waves experience was wonderful, and felt specifically tailored for us from the music playing over the speakers and shows on the multiple TVs, to the fast and attentive service provided by our skilled waitress Olivia. We received everything we ordered faster than expected, and it was all delicious! My favorite was the combo #1, which came with a perfectly cooked lobster tail and some of the tastiest shrimp I've had in years. I highly recommend the medium spice level with the Crab House Special reasoning blend. Only possible nitpick was that the fried calamari, while delicious and well cooked, was only rings and had no tentacles, which are personally my favorite part. Clean and brand new, as well as delicious, Waves is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Super casual seafood boil place. Lots of choices & a build your own boil. I chose lobster tail shrimp and crab legs. They were all delicious - I got my spices "on the side" as most were a Cajun lemon pepper mix, and I'm careful not to get things too spicy. Others in our group of 6 all enjoyed their meals. One couple was disappointed with the blue crab, but admitted that they'd never had it before, weren't sure if it was OK, and they just didn't care for it. We tried this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. The place was pretty empty, but clean and a good atmosphere. Our server was a little confusing (not sure if he was underage or just new to the bar world) we ordered a bucket of beer and said they didn't have any. He left and came back and said he could offer us a bucket of beer and we said that's what we ordered to begin with! Lol. The food was good, nothing to ride home about but it satisfied the craving.
