Honestly depends on who is working! We had two different experiences that could be based on who was making our burgers that day. Young high school kids looked to be running the place as the boy flipping burgers on one hand was scrolling on his phone with the other. Not sure how that doesn't break any health violations. Pretty much everyone had an earbud in and really set the laid back tone of the restaurant. Our food came out a little longer than expected. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and wasn't too satisfied with it - will just stick to the burgers in the future if we decide to return. It's honestly not a terrible option for fast food burgers in the area, just test your luck with who is around when you visit! read more

Was excited to try this place. Haven't had a burger in a while. Ordered 3 burgers and one order of fries via Uber eats. Total came to over $55, and the quality was awful. That was way too expensive but luckily I had a coupon that reduced it some. They advertise that you're getting 4 slices of crispy bacon! Good luck finding them. Let me know if you see them in the pic. Easy to spot those large crispy slices in the MENU. 4 slices should be a ton of bacon. As far as my steak burger, it supposedly came with crispy onions on top. I thought they would be like "onion straws" you get on top of burgers at good places. This had a tiny circle of mushy onions and there was nothing crisp. Maybe the size of a quarter and just mush. I don't think I'll be rushing back. For $55 I'll get some good food. Even Red Robin is far superior. read more

This review is for takeout. We went on a Friday afternoon and we were the only ones inside ordering. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a drive thru as well. The workers were very courteous in taking our order and the food was ready in around 10 minutes. The food tasted really great and the prices are definitely reasonable. The burger was nice and juicy. The chicken sandwich was good. The chili cheese fries were amazing and very filling. The house made potato chips with the bbq seasoning were really good as well. They have a great variety of items to choose from as well. Interior decor looked nice. read more

Jake's Wayback is convenient and fast. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Burgers are overcooked, fries soggy, fish sandwich good but lacking flavor, and the chicken is frequently dry and seems like it's been sitting around for awhile. The nacho fries - whatever they are called - are not worth it. Taco Bell does a better job! The shakes are very good but pricey. I'd rather head to Grassroots and pick up a small ice cream instead. The best deal is to order a kid's meal, order single burgers, and my kids and I drink water and share the soda and fries from the kid's meal. I wish that Granby had not lost its McDonald's. Jake's is on par with McD's but slower and inconsistent. The place is very clean, however. read more

I really like this place! There hot dogs and hamburgers are good, french fries and onion rings are spot on and you couldn't ask for a better milkshake! Food wasn't bad. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was good, but was not like the picture on the menu. Had little to no sauce. Tasted more like a Tyson buffalo chicken strip than anything else. The mac & cheese bites were very good and would order them again. My wife said good things about the onion rings and turkey burger too. My biggest complaint was the service. I ordered online and when I went to pick up the food I told them my name and that I was there for pick up. the girl working got a brown paper bag and a shake from the freezer, sat it on the counter in front of me and walked away. No "here you go", no "can you sign this receipt", no word at all. I stood there for a few seconds I guess waiting for a "you're all set", but I checked the bag, everything was there so I left. Just got home from ordering take out there. Keep in mind I was the only person waiting for food. I ordered a single with bacon, lettuce, ketchup, mayo. Got said burger with no bacon and the receipt found below. The owner/manager walked in mid order with a pizza from competition in the plaza. If the manager doesn't have pride in eating the food. Good place! Milkshakes are great & refreshing. The burgers are delicious! Other than that, the prices are a little high. $4-$6 for a kids meal, depending on the day. Terrific Quality Burgers! We live closeby, and even though there are several places in Granby and Simsbury to get a really great burger, we still order Jake's to go once in a while. Called a few evenings ago to place a pick up order 20mins prior to closing time and the staff that answered advised me I wouldn't be able to order because they had already turned off the grill for the night. My 1st and last visit. Food is good I won't knock the food who don't love a burger and some fry's or O-rings and we I had a shake. All good. But this is a burger joint, dress it up put some bells and whistles and yup still a burger joint, WAY OVERPRICED. Not terrible, but some strange behavior. I was ordering for my family (me, wife and two kids) and halfway through my order, the girl at the register answers a phone and takes an order over the phone, right in front of me. Not the end of the world, but unprofessional. Anyway, she finishes taking the other order then acknowledges me again, so I finish mine. Went to a table and waited for our food. Food eventually comes, and my wife takes a bite of her hotdog and it's cold. Kind of gross. The guy behind the counter brings us a milkshake and I mention to him that the hot dog is cold. He doesn't look all that interested and returned to the counter. Never replaced the cold dog with a HOTdog. There are plenty of other options when it comes to burgers and shakes, I'm going to exercise those in the future. read more
