I came on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty empty. The interior is super cute and decorated with plants. I ordered a pumpkin matcha and a croissant, and my friend also ordered a lavender matcha and a bagel. My friend's drink came out first. I waited a bit and a croissant and two drinks came out for a couple who ordered after us. I assumed the croissant belonged to them so I did not grab it. I waited a total of 15 min or so and my drink as well as both of our food items still had not came out. I asked the employee who took our order that we had waited and if it would be ready soon and she said "oh" and walked back. A person who seemed to be a manager came over and asked what I was missing. I told her and she said they put out my croissant earlier and it was the last croissant. If that was my croissant I wasn't sure why it was gone lol (and if it was the last croissant and it happened to belong to the person behind me, then I'm not sure how I was going to get the croissant I ordered) I ended up switching to a bagel and I got my drink. The manager apologized and made sure our orders were correct and we got our food. The drink was really good and I loved the pumpkin flavor. I had a long day of studying ahead of me and some of my friends skipped class to get waygood coffee. I asked them to get me a waygood latte to try and this was probably the best decision I made the whole week. The waygood latte is one of their signature coffees. It's a caramel vanilla latte with cloud and I got it iced. I got the drink about 30 minutes after it was made and it was still perfectly good. It had the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Way good coffee was a great experience lace to study and relax after a busy morning. You order from a stand, but the server is nearby in case you have any questions. Decided to check out this place after seeing that it had opened up in central Houston on socials. Can't say much for ambiance because I went through the drive thru, but from what I could tell it looks cute. Service was fast and I asked for the baristas recommendation for drinks. Saw a new coffee spot had opened in town and knew I had to check it out. Nestled in a cozy corner just off highway 59, Waygood is a really cute themed coffeeshop that is full of color, beautiful natural lighting, and good vibes. Notably, they have a pickleball court set up temporarily while they get store seating all figured out! On to the service--there's a ton of unique specialty drinks if you haven't been here before, and thankfully our barista was very kind and helpful in explaining to us. We went with the Waygood iced latte, which is a caramel drizzled foam on top of what I believe is a standard latte. Their espresso pairs well with milk, coming out as a very distinct nutty note that is followed immediately by caramel flavor. The foam is well textured and fluffy, and quite salty-sweet with more caramel. Overall a strong choice for those who like specialty drinks. Houston's coffee scene is continuing to heat up even more, and Waygood is standing out for its range of specialty drinks, competitive prices, A+ interior and vibes, and friendly staff. Possible nitpicks are relatively few power outlets for study/work people (seating still getting figured out), and coffee snobs may be wanting super specialty bean offerings. Would also love to see the social pickleball + coffee shop concept explored more, even if it is just temporary! So I tried this place when I first started working in the area and wasn't impressed. Now I know I ordered the wrong thing. I recently tried it again and I got the Brown Butter Iced Latte with oat milk, extra syrup, and a vanilla cloud and OMG. I am a regular at this coffee shop and come here at LEAST 5 times a week to start my long work days. I have tried a good portion of the menu, and always come back to either the James Brown or Paper Boy- the quality is pretty consistent for this being a small business! Ive come by so much- not just because of the tasty treats and good coffee (and the drive-thru convenience), but the workers are all so friendly and it's always nice to have some positivity before my day. I even get some cups with cute little notes written on them (not just for my birthday!) The one time I went inside was also a pleasant experience. It was midday on a week day so it wasn't packed or anything, and the overall aesthetic of the place was very clean and open! I believe it was the owner that stopped by our table to check on us (which i did NOT expect at a coffee shop, it was great!) This is my very first one star review. The interior is pretty nice and it seemed like a nice spot.It's pretty hard to keep me this unsatisfied. Ive been to this establishment three different times. The first time i got a pandan latte which was quite good and led me to believe i found my next new coffee shop. Then, on my second visit, i had the Island Brew. It was probably the worst drink i have ever been served at an establishment and had a very sour taste. When telling the staff about it they were nice enough to make me a different drink but i paid for a large and they gave me a small. Today was my third visit and i am officially never coming back. I ordered two drinks, a seaside shakerato and a strawberry fields matcha. The seaside shakerato tastes like it has barely coffee in it, it tastes purely of syrup and really watered down coffee. The strawberry fields matcha is just as bad and has a very iron-y taste to it. Its really hard to even finish the drink i paid 7 dollars for. read more
