Last night I walked out of this dealership with my first Mazda and a huge smile, which was a great contrast compared to the last two dealers I had recently visited. I am beyond satisfied with my newly leased CX5, and had a wonderful experience working with the sales and finance department at Wayne Mazda. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was that the salesmen did NOT swarm me, which made me feel so comfortable--I hate when they pressure you the second you walk in! The receptionist told us to help ourselves to refreshments and let her know when we were ready for help. We connected with sales representative Misael, who was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about the car I was looking at, explaining options available and really the logic behind why Mazda designs the way they do. He even took me on a lengthy test drive showing me HOW to drive and feel the car ride, which is different from many dealers. I was impressed. We talked numbers; again impressive. I was turning in a Honda Civic 18 months early. Misael worked with me without a penalty to get out of a lease I was unhappy with. We returned after our initial visit ready to sign--of course the manager played the numbers, but ultimately, they pleased the customer, and I ended up with a higher model vehicle than I was bargaining for, for an amazing price! My car was detailed to the MAX before I left the lot, and Misael spent nearly 30 minutes with me explaining all of the features and setting up the technology in the car before I left (this was until 10pm even though they closed at 9). If I HAD to choose a weakness I would say the process took long; we did a lot of waiting in between paperwork before actually getting the car and leaving. I wouldn't even give this place one star if I could. We went there today trying to buy a CX5 and no one helped us. We waited for a hour before finally getting fed up and leaving. I don't know what the point of their internet sales team is because we had an appointment and still waited for a hour with no one helping us. The entire staff just wandered around while multiple people waited for assistance before eventually getting fed up and leaving too. This place is very poorly run if you can't even accommodate customers with appointments trying to purchase a car today. We will take our business to Ramsey Mazda and you should too. read more

Did NOT buy my 2015 Hyundai Genesis here, so can't speak to their final sales deals or pitches, but did come to see their Mazdas and the salespeople were lovely. I DO bring my car here for service, and have never had a problem. They do WHAT they say they'll do, WHEN they say they'll do it. They listen, they're accommodating and they seem to know their stuff. If a problem does arise, they give you NO BS they just listen and do what it takes to satisfy you. I work with Service Advisor Ryan Kelder and he is truly fantastic. He listens, he works with you, and he PAYS ATTENTION. I have no connection to him, to Wayne Mazda, or to Hyundai - the Mazda dealership holds the repair space as, presumably the dealerships are owned by the same person - but to date I have zero, yes zero complaints. read more

I'm really shocked at all the great reviews others have posted about this dealership. I must've had the bad luck of ending up with the two salesmen that assisted me. I went in to check out a 2016 used car, test drive was great but when it came time to discuss pricing I felt like I was being robbed. They advertised the 2016 CX9 as pre-certified on their website but wanted me to pay $1000 for the pre-certification, they pressed me to finance with their lenders, even though I was pre-approved through my own bank but then wanted to charge me close to $1000 for financing fees, they wanted me to also pay for GAP insurance...that's not even a thing anymore! This was the first dealer that we visited in NJ so we assumed these were normal fees for the state but to verify we stopped at Mazda dealer in Ramsey and they confirmed our suspicion, Wayne was charging frivolous fees. You may be better off going to Ramsey instead of this dealership. read more

Once I finished the paperwork, the owner aggressively made the statement, "WE ARE DONE HERE!", slammed the chair into the table, and then stormed off. Never have I felt so neglected and belittled. I don't understand why car manufacturers rely on dealerships to sell their cars, since the dealership is squeezed to make a few hundred bucks on each sale any way they can. This makes for an unpleasant experience, but that's the game...and that's the game they play at this dealership like all others. They will give you a high-ball price, which you have to haggle. They will make you sit there interminably while the salesman "checks with the sales manager." They will charge you a ridiculous "documentation fee" ($299) and a "window etching fee" ($399) as part of the price. They will say silly things like "this price is good only for today" or "the 2014 will be exactly the same as the 2013, so don't wait." (A complete lie as to the Mazda3, which was completely redesigned for 2014). Look, hate the game, don't hate the players. These are good guys who are trying to make a buck. Do your research, insist on your price, make your deal and enjoy your car. There's a reason why Wayne is the highest-selling and lowest-priced dealer in NJ. read more

Worst experience of my life at wayne Mazda Service Center. Brought in my car for a recall and a diagnostic check was done without my approval. I was unlawfully charged $139 to my credit card weeks later (after having already paid for a diagnostic check a week prior that caught no issues. After two tow jobs, My very reliable non-Mazda mechanic fixed my battery and thermostat in a matter of hours when Mazda couldn't do so in a week.) I will never go there again after dealing with manager Nicholas and his threatening phone calls. In fact, this awful experience has led me to sell my Hyundai elantra vehicle. To be fair, I had a great experience at this dealership and I've visited quite A LOT of NJ Mazda dealerships since I've been in the market for a new vehicle. Of all the dealerships I've visited, Wayne Mazda offered the best price and have the largest inventory in stock. The sales folks especially my rep, Nick was great and knowledgeable. You can definitely tell they are there to accommodate and help with any general concerns or questions. The facility is spacious (enough for social distancing) and the waiting area is very nice with all the amenities to work while you wait for vehicle servicing. I visited Wayne Mazda after a tour of five other dealerships around the NYC area. I had done my research on pricing, knew what my trade was worth, and knew what I wanted. All the other dealerships just glazed over what I said and tried to overcharge me or sell me something else. When I pulled up to Wayne Mazda, I was greeted immediately at my car, welcomed, walked in, and directed to the appropriate sales associate. I sat down with Joe Melillo and I told him what I wanted. Instead of laughing at me and asking how I came up with such crazy numbers (which all the other dealerships did), Joe jotted down notes, and told me he would go do his best to get me where I wanted to be. After a short pause, Joe came back with a number that was literally only $5 off from where I wanted to be. It was a done deal. Within an hour or two, I was in my new CX-5 and on my way home. I can't say enough good things about working with Joe. He was no bullshit and very friendly and professional to me, despite coming in an hour before closing. He was completely transparent about the process, and stayed late to make sure all my questions were answered. Now, two weeks out, I emailed him with a few follow-up questions, and he was quick to respond and just as helpful as before. Out of the handful of dealerships we've visited in the past 4 weeks, we chose to do business with Wayne Mazda. Purchasing a first car is stressful but our salesperson, Joe, helped us tremendously. We were able to test drive the vehicle we were interested in right away. He was neither aggressive nor passive in getting us to make the purchase. He came with us during the test drive and answered all of our questions. Afterwards, we left the lot and visited a few more dealerships. We ended up returning a week later to negotiate a price. We were in and out within the hour with a price that we were happy with thanks to Joe. It felt like he understood our needs and wants and he did what he could to get us to our target price. He was organized, calm, and did a great job painlessly walking us through our first car purchase. We were able to leave the lot with the vehicle but scheduled to pick it up in 2 days instead. When we picked up the car, Joe took his time explaining as many of the car features to us that he could; never once did we feel rushed. Afterwards we spent half an hour signing papers and everything was explained to us in detail. We're so happy to have done business with Wayne Mazda. These guys are total grifters. I bought my car there 2 years ago and purchased an extended warranty. When i went in today with an issue with my radio/infotainment system they said my "VIN dIdn't indicate a warranty to cover my issue." Of course when i contacted the warranty company it was covered. The service center wanted to charge my $4k plus labor. They also charged me $188 to tell me the radio was broken which was obvious. They're a total sham. Don't trust them. I'm in the market for a new car and I will most definitely not be going here. read more

I went straight away to get it inspected as soon as I noticed. Also, had my car serviced recently and it came back with a deep scratch on passenger side door. Your typical bait and switch dishonest dealership. I went in today after being told over the phone that they would beat the offer that I had previously received at another dealership. I knew something was off as soon as I got to speak to someone over the phone and they would not commit to saying what their offer would be and only say that they would beat any "legitimate" offer. I explained that I did not have time to waste and that if they can review the deal and get back to me I would be willing to place a deposit over the phone to show that I was a serious buyer. The lady just repeated the same lines saying that they would beat the offer. I decided to go anyways because this dealer is much closer to me. I thought to myself what the heck do I have to lose. I wish I never did waste my time going there and dealing with such people. I was pretty much called a liar about the offer that I had as most dealerships wont give you a sheet with an offer and some salesmen would only right these offers right on their business cards. A simple "no, we can not beat that offer" would of been sufficient and that way we could of avoided everyones time being wasted. After the initial exchange took place it took the salesman a good 20-25 mins to come back with some manager to tell me that that offer was not possible unless I paid more money in a form of a down payment. I was so infuriated that I had been robbed of my time that I just got up and left. In a very unprofessional and antagonizing way they just say "good bye" after I was half way out. Within 2 1/2 hours my wife was driving the CX-5 that she wanted at an even lower price than my initial quote after going to Ramsey Mazda ( highly recommend ). I want to warn anyone planning a purchase from Wayne Mazda (Don't Do It) First off i am from Ohio flew to NJ to purchase a 2019 Corvette spent $70,000+ dollars and there was a problem with the Targa roof I had discovered once i got the car home. My local Chevrolet dealer showed me where the top was altered and was the cause of major leaking water into the car. I immediately, contacted the dealer and after talking to various managers I received the run around they wouldn't replace the top which was recommended by my local dealer. The cost to replace was over 2500.00 dollars, I was so upset. Also found out after the fact that any out of state purchases the title work is handled by a third party which will cost you hundreds of extra dollars. Keep in mind this purchase was a 2019 Vette with 7200 miles. No questions they should have made it right. Wayne Mazda probably the worst dealership you could go to. Apparently, when you're negotiating and discussing numbers back and forth, writing the numbers down on paper its all just for fun lol. The sales manager, Moe said that these numbers that were discussed and written down were MY OFFERS, not what they were offering me. The salesman and I were sitting down for 1 hour, discussing prices and lowering the lease payment in increments to cater to our budget which we stated from the start. The salesman even said that if we can verbally commit to the final price we were set on, that we could put a down payment to secure the deal and pickup the car another time. Why would the conversation go this far, if this isn't what you were offering me. The dumbest excuse for a mistake that was made by the salesperson, I don't blame the salesman. The Sales Manager, Moe Thabata came in defensive from the start, denying to have made any offers and tried making me look like the idiot. He said loudly and confidently, "That price is IMPOSSIBLE, it's out of your budget!". Having an egotistical idiot as the sales manager is probably not the right direction for your dealership. Dude even tried to flex on me, "my dealership is the best Mazda dealership around here". Buddy you are an employee, get your head out of your ass. We decided to go to Wayne Mazda to look at cars as they seemed to take COVID and social distancing seriously, the salespeople all wore masks, and they allowed you to test drive independently. I truly never write reviews, however, I feel that during this difficult time ignited by COVID-19 I must compliment Wayne Mazda and their staff. I had an odd spider issue with my leased Mazda6 and I can't thank the staff at Wayne Mazda enough. Leslie I believe was one of the service receptionists that initially set up my appointment. They allowed me to have the valet service so that my car could be picked up at my home while they left for me, a new loaner vehicle, how convenient! Aside from the extremely helpful receptionist, the Mazda technician (Danny) whom came to pick up my car was super informative, nice, and respectful of COVID-19 protocols. It left me feeling safe and confident that myself and my vehicle would be taken care of. Anthony the advisor kept me up to date on my vehicle status along with telling me everything that would be done to my vehicle in full detail. When my car was ready to be returned Anthony allowed me to pick a time most convenient for me, and when my vehicle arrived at my home, another very nice, informative Mazda technician helped me understand everything they did, and even showed me one of the filters in my car they cleaned out. Overall, my experience was spectacular, from the initial receptionist, to the technicians, to the advisor and to the final receptionist Deirdre. I am definitely elated to have chosen this dealership and car company as my current lease. I am now driving my Mazda again feeling safe and spider free all because of their amazing service start to finish. read more

Follow up from previous review... 24 hours after posting my previous review I was contacted by the dealership to discuss my review and attempt to reach a resolution. I explained that I was still upset and having the conversation at that moment would not be beneficial for either myself or them. They asked if it would be ok to discuss this matter in 1 week and I agreed. 2 weeks later I did not receive a follow up phone call. On 6/22/21 I received a phone call from Zach and I was unable to pick up the phone and he left a voicemail to give him a call at my earliest convenience. I made an incorrect assumption that this was a follow up that I was expecting. I called the first time 15 minutes after the voicemail was left and reached Zach on the phone. I addressed who I was and simply stated that I was returning his call. He stated that he couldn't remember why he was calling me and asked if he could review his notes and give me a call back. I agreed. 3 hours later still no phone call and when I called back a second time I was transferred 3 times and met with a rather annoyed woman asking me who I was calling for, what was the matter to be discussed, and which department. I answered with "I don't know" and proceeded to repeat back the voicemail left which was, "Hey Will this is Zach from Wayne Mazda, when you get a chance can you call me back at 973-694-7700 thanks bye." She then huffed and said "wait" and rapidly put me on hold. After 2 minutes on hold she picked up the phone and immediately transferred me to another department to which I explained this a second time. This woman was pleasant and was unable to find a resolution to the reason I was calling me back and stated she needed to transfer me to another department where Zach could be reached. I needed to repeat myself again a third time and at this point I was frustrated and it came across that way on the phone. She put me on hold for 6 minutes and when she came back on the line she asked me if I had just recently purchased a Mazda and I stated yes. She responded with "oh he had a lead and wanted to ask if you would be interested in purchasing a Hyundai but it's here on the notes that you purchased a Mazda from us so we will remove your lead from our system since you already bought a car from us." I was quite upset at this moment that they had me call multiple times to find out that it was simply because they didn't check in their system that I had already bought a car from them and had me call multiple times to find this out. I stated in my previous review that I would never return to this Mazda. After this experience from the one Female frustrated at me because I didn't know why they called me and didn't know other information since it wasn't left on voicemail along with no follow up either from my first review as promised and the second call from Zach, this further proves to me that this dealership is disorganized, don't communicate with each other on clients, and play ping pong with their customers. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS MAZDA! We have purchased multiple Mazda's over the years and this was by far the consistently worst experience I have ever encountered. Twice in a row they dropped the ball and met with disrespectful employees is a testimony to how they value their customers. read more

The last few times I have been to Wayne Mazda, I have been impressed. They haven't charged me for unnecessary repairs (or suggested any). For example, I've asked them about brake pads, spark plugs, and other items, and to their credit, they checked the vehicle and informed me it was not time on any of those items. The duration of each appointment for simple things such as an oil change still leaves something to be desired, as this location is always jammed with customers. I once had a small issue with the sanitation of the food offerings bar, posted in an earlier (since deleted) review, but have now overwritten the old post as I have been satisfied with Wayne Mazda on all subsequent visits. I am especially a fan of the workstations (free wifi = ability to work remotely from the dealership). The current 2.5 star average for this business seems a bit harsh. read more

My Family had bought numerous cars from this dealership over the past 8 years. The buying experience has been good. The salesman are nice and you don't feel pressured. I have recently had a surprisingly negative experience with the service department of this dealership. My 2017 CX 5 started having issues with radio/navigation screen rebooting randomly on its own. When i dropped it off i was told by one of the mechanics this is a common issue, usually the sim card but even if replaced there is no guarantee that it wouldn't happen again. After my car was checked i was called and told i did have a burnt sim card. To replace it was 500. Or i could have apple play for 500. I advised them i have an extra warranty on the car which they should of known as i bought it there.. I was told it wasn't covered under that. I then had my husband call and they put it thru the warranty. They weren't going to put it thru until he called. How insulting! When i went to pick up the car I asked if the card was defective or what was wrong with my car to cause it. I received a blank stare to that question. In the end i paid 100 for a possible defective card and have to wait to see if it happens again.. I looked on reddit and this is a common problem with CX 5's..Other dealerships are replacing CPU's of the radio to fix the problem. Makes me think of all their customers they are taking advantage of knowing this is a common problem. Charge $500. For a sim card only to charge again when that doesn't work..crazy. When does a recall start? I will definitely think long and hard if and when I ever buy another Mazda. Especially from them. read more

I would give them less. Wayne advertised "leather" in our car on their website. When it was brought to the attention of the manager that there was not leather in the car, he said "does it look like leather?" "It is leather". The salesman verified that it was leatherette and then the manager said "it's the same thing." The dealership charged me for ETCH even though I refused it and their forms say optional. This was a used car and ETCH had already been done. They also did not register my vehicle prior to the temp plates expiring. I asked to register myself and they said it was "theoretically illegal". My husband starts a new job next week and they didn't offer to help with a letter explaining why our plates are expiring or a rental car. They told us our info is with the state of CT when in fact I confirmed that they had sent our registration to a 3rd party vendor and they have not sent our documents to the state because the dealership did not send them our insurance cards.The dealership blamed me for buying a car in NJ when we live in CT.
