    Artichoke salad

The view and live music were incredible. The clam chowder was delicious but the artichoke salad was soaked in dressing. The fluke special wasn't special at all. The piece of fish was so small and not seared. The cauliflower puree wasn't flavorful. The few pieces of broccolini was the highlight of the dish.

The best spot to eat on the water in Southold, and it pulls a perfect 5 stars for the service, entertainment, environment, and food. The weather was gorgeous, they had live music by the water with a very talented musician singing covers too. The drinks were well made and the server was very attentive, checking on us all the time if we needed anything, always refilling water and to be of service. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the Fish and Chips was also good, not too deeply fried. The Tuna Sandwhich was really good too, fresh fish and filling. Wonderful spot for the summer, 5 stars!

If you drive by quickly, you will miss waypoint restaurant, from the corner of my eye while driving I saw people sitting out on the point by the water, so i turned around and gave it a shot, from the quality of the cars in the parking lot I could tell off the bat, It was a high-end restaurant walked in got a table and we're surrounded by water, wealthy patrons and plenty of boats from the Hamptons even got a glimpse of the celebrity. Brooke shields was having lunch. We sat for 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Finally, an owner or a manager asked if we were being helped and I said no , a waitress came over took our order and the food was mid. The octopus was served cold and tiny little pieces mixed with salad I've never seen a grilled lemon That was ice cold on top of the salad before ,the food almost came out too quickly as if the dishes were premade in the fridge, the crowd is pretentious, even though the restaurant is pretty I thought it would be a lot better, but I don't think I will be coming back

Great food, great views excellent service. We look forward to coming back for another wonderful meal. It is then when hidden gem!

What a gem. Still a little early in the season so it was fairly easy to get a reservation at our preferred time. The food was spectacular so we decided to share a few appetizers and the main. The blackfish was a special and not being a huge fan of fish I was so excited to realize how great it tasted. Pricey but all the restaurants "out East" are comparable with nyc prices. The view compensates and so does the lovely atmosphere and I'm definitely a fan.

Bitter sweet review. I always thought highly of this hidden gem. Just want to submit a current review. Beautiful location on the water. The service lacked. My party of three waited at a table for quite some time. We had to go sit at the bar for service. Complicated menus. There is a pre 4 0'clock lunch menu. A four to five menu and an after five dinner menu. We were there at 3:50 thus ordering was a bit complicated. One would expect to have higher prices on an upscale waterside restaurant. The food did not live up to the price. We all had the pasta seafood dish. Told it would be served with linguine bucatini came out instead. The pasta was properly al dented but did not seemed married to the watery sauce. No black cracked pepper was available. It was a minor ordeal to get grated cheese. . I had an empty glass sitting in front of me for most of my time. They missed out of a couple more drinks on my bill. Twenty dollar drinks and forty five dollar plates. They have the nerve to charge a credit card processing fee on the bill. The music was suitable for the background. Disco Techno garbage. Played too loud. Doubtful that I will return anytime soon.

A wonderful dinner by the water at Waypoint Restaurant. After cocktails, we started with tuna crudo, a roast artichoke salad, and a grilled octopus salad, followed by the catch of the day, striped bass. For dessert, almond tiramisu and a pistachio cake. Everything was absolutely delicious!

A drunk lady and a espresso

Waypoint has some undeniable strengths--the drinks are excellent, and the food is well-prepared. But let's be honest: $600 for a meal for four people is pretty hard to justify, especially when you're being told the red snapper is locally caught in Long Island Sound (which it absolutely isn't--red snapper doesn't live anywhere near here). For that price, you'd expect not only top-quality ingredients but also complete transparency about where your food comes from. The atmosphere and service were solid, but nothing about the experience warranted such an inflated bill. If you don't mind splurging--and don't mind a little creative storytelling about seafood sourcing--you might still enjoy it. Otherwise, you can find better value elsewhere.

I explained I had to get back to Brooklyn, she let me know that I could get salads and soup. I ordered about a small container of shrimp salad my friend ordered seafood salad. Both were delicious l. They had the right amount of red onions, celery, dill, mayo and whatever secret ingredients they put in there. I also had the lobster Chipotle soup, once again great seasoning, warm and comforting. I would definitely drive about two hours back to this place. Hopefully during the week it's not as crowded.

We showed up a few minutes early and were told by the counter person that (a) that our order hadn't been started yet and (b) that we were told it would be an hour when we called and we were early. And there was an edge in her voice. So we went to run an errand and came back 25 minutes later and the order still hadn't been started yet. So it's now more than an hour from the time we ordered and now we are in freefall. So we cancelled the order - with more attitude from a different counter person. It wasn't so much the delay in the order - things happen. But it was the attitude that accompanied it that was most off putting. It felt like a learned behavior.

We found Red Rooster Bistro and thought it looked very cute. It is a lovely little building, looks like a French country house. They loved their pasta and chicken. My mother and I were not as thrilled. The mushroom was tiny, buried under greens. I had expected a decent sized mushroom but ours were so small. I am glad we also ordered the beet salad, which was mostly greens but the beets were good. They also ordered the flourless chocolate cake, which they enjoyed.
