I have tried several massage studios in Houston, but nothing compared to the great massage that I received at We Are Thai. A young lady named Tanya was the massage therapist. The massage was amazing but more importantly quite therapeutic. She was able to identify where I have muscle and fascia issues and was able to modify the session to address those areas. Honestly, she found muscles that I didn't know that I have! I'm looking forward to the next chance that I can get away from work to get another session. Just went in for my birthday. Had a good massage and was feeling good..until I walked up to the register. The total was $90 which was fair and I gave a $20 tip with a smile on my face. To my surprise, she said "give me $30." I was like wth??? My face dropped. I just gave a 22% tip, plus you shouldn't be telling me how much to tip! This was my first experience with Thai massage. I have never had a real honest deep tissue massage. My past experiences we all Swedish type massages that felt great but did absolutely nothing for the knots in my shoulders and back. This place was incredible. I will admit that while working knots out involves some pain, it was never unbearable. The lady working on me was always asking if it was too much. I was having SEVERE sciatic nerve pain in my lower back and could literally barely walk. I was hobbling when I got there and had just completely broken down crying at work trying to walk to the printer because the pain was that intense. I had been seeing a chiropractor but treatments were not helping and I was about to go get an MRI to see what was causing the nerve to be aggravated. One of my colleagues is a long-time client and sent me to them and assured me I was in good hands. I told Lisa exactly what was going on and she said that she had suffered from the same issues before. She was careful not to cause me too much pain in the affected area while still being VERY thorough and REALLY focusing on the problem and working it out, massaging and stretching the muscles that were pressing against the nerve. And can you believe it...I could actually WALK when I left!! It will be a long process of healing and strengthening but she has given me some much needed pain relief. You really don't appreciate being able to do basic things like sitting, walking and sleeping until you have experienced this kind of pain. I am so thankful for Lisa's expertise and kindness. She showed me several stretches to do at home and I'm sure her advice will help me to improve until I can come back to see her again which I ABSOLUTELY will. read more

This is not your lay down relax type of massage it's deep tissue, stretching and getting your muscles back to a better state. If you're looking for signage then you won't find any. The location is a tiny bungalow right off of Washington with limited parking. The inside is small and cozy. The massage itself can only be described as epic. I spend a lot of time in the gym and constantly have tight muscles and aches all over. The massage therapist knew exactly what to do. It was possibly the deepest massage I've had, but I walked away feeling 100x better! This is the perfect recovery massage for any athlete. I'd highly recommend. I am pretty athletic and my body has been banged up over time, I have long lasting injuries that are very deep inside of the muscle tissue and take work to get to.. with that being said.. The technique is just awesome. They also do the time they say. For example an hour is an hour not like the other places where they charge you for an hour and only give you 50 minutes. I had no idea going into it that she would be walking on my back and limbs as part of the massage. Once she got on the table and put her magical feet to work, I was in H E A V E N. She found knots and stiffness in places I had no idea existed. She took her time and when she came across a stubborn knot, she focused on it instead of just moving right past it (like most reflexology places I've been to).
