I'm told production is slow due to covid, but a heavy part of their sales pitch is that they control manufacture of all their parts. I was also sold a deal with exterior grids, only to have them come back to say they don't actually do exterior grids and I should purchase plastic snap ons to install myself. Or buy the interior grid option... Suffice to say, I hate that now I am trapped with this company. Go elsewhere. read more

I had a representative from this company in my home. I had asked for a quote for future reference. Representative goes into a very long winded presentation and bashing other companies. An hour and a half of putting up with this, I told him to leave. I then get a call from the area sales manager 15 minutes later, using aggressive sales tactics to try to secure a deal. We had over 20 windows installed, mostly the work was OK with some damage to the property. Trying to get sliding door fixed has been HUGE issue. If you call maybe you get a call back. We were sold on the "quick response" to any problems we might run into with warranty or installation. Service after installation is rated at leas than 1 star. Had a fantastic experience with WeatherGard on our window replacement project from start to finish! The salesman, installers, and office staff were all wonderful. Add the high level of professionalism and excellent customer service we received to their great product and we are very happy customers. The old windows of our 18-year-old house had become ridiculously drafty. With our new WeatherGard windows, we've actually turned the thermostat down because they're keeping our house so toasty warm. Additionally, with our old windows, the supposedly convenient tilt-in feature for easy window cleaning was anything but easy. However, the installers demonstrated this feature on our new windows and I'm actually looking forward to cleaning them in the spring :-) As if we had not been pleased enough, the icing on the cake came when I contacted their administrative office to get information I needed in order to submit a rebate application to our gas (heat) provider, based on the purchase of the energy efficient windows. Instead of simply giving me the information I requested, the WeatherGard staff member said that she would be more than happy to take care of the rebate submission for me. These guys where good! I'm very happy with my new windows. I Live right on Dequindre Rd in Troy mi. An I can't believe how much quieter it is. That was the biggest surprise. Finding their Yelp like, I was shocked. They completed a complete window replacement on my home (12 windows) in 2003 with no issues. Estimate was done in a professional manner and also was very accurate. The installers were considerate of my family (young kids) and didn't use foul language. There was even a follow up appointment to verify that everything was to our satisfaction. Fast Forward to 2013. Time for another project. Estimate was done. Price was good. Installation was done. Had the salesman give a short sales pitch about the quality of there windows. I had did my research and felt they have a top quality window. What my issue is how they did the pricing. First all windows are the same price, double hung, casement or a picture window? All on sale and discounts are figured in, told verbally. The price total was written on a business card. And the oldest pressure tactic around, by the way if you sign Today we will lower the price by X amount of dollars! Remember Today only! For me thats a big No at any price! I not a fan of that practice and will not use any company that relies of that type of sales gimmick! read more

I submitted an online request for a quote for two exterior doors. I was contacted by a rep the very next day. They would come out to give me a quote unless my wife would be present - what? I explained my wife is super busy caring for her ill parents and I was handling the door replacement project. Apparently, they won't deviate from their very strange process. My experience was with Weathergard windows. I can't say enough good things about these guys. My wife and I just bought our house a year ago and the windows were shot from the get go. Our house was drafty and cold and we went all winter that way. A weathergard's rep cane to do the door and asked if we would be interested in hearing their pitch and I figured why not? So we scheduled it and their salesman Brent came over late on a Monday night (my wife and I don't get home from work until after 6) and was there for almost 3 hours showing us why and how their windows are better than anyone else's. And as an engineer I was very impressed with how he was able to prove to me physically why the materials they used and their construction of window would be better and last longer than other options. Brent was very personable and honest with their slightly higher prices versus others, which for me told me he was that confident that they were worth it. There were 5 appointments I had to be at the house for during the day thru the install process. They gave me about an hour or so span of when they'd be there and every single time they were either earlier or spot on the start of the appointment window. And what's more, every appointment they were willing to call when they were on their way so I could schedule around work properly. They setup and scheduled the entire energy rebate process with consumers energy. All I had to do was be home. They were very professional and made sure I understood what they were doing for each test. The windows themselves were manufactured and ready two weeks earlier than expected and they began the install 2 days after they called to tell me they were ready. Their install contractors were careful, clean, and punctual and couldn't say enough good things about weathergard and why they preferred working with their products than other installs. 10 windows and the sliding glass door of my two story, colonial house actually ended up cheaper than I thought it would and took a day and a half for them to install. You wouldn't even know they had been there except for the new windows. When the install began they realized that the measurement had been done wrong on an assumption about the construction of the sliding glass door and how the frame meets the interior floor. The installers warned me it might make the job last a week if they had to do some reconstruction and I told them so be it. He called me an hour later saying that they called weathergard and they had another job lined up that still had some lead time with the proper size slider for my house. So within another hour they came, brought The properly sized slider, and took away the incorrect one. My home has marble window sills, one of which was damaged while removing the old window. They had a replacement in place and installed at no cost to me the next day. The windows have a lifetime guarantee AND free screen replacements for life. That right there is worth the cost for me. Like I said I could go on and on about these guys. I highly recommend them. They made it such a painless process and it is without a doubt a high quality product. Tried to set up an appointment for a quote but they won't do it without my wife being present. Here's why from the website The Window Dog .Com: Ever heard a window company say they require that both the husband and wife be present for their quote? Maybe they said they needed all the decision makers or everyone who is on the paperwork for the house. Have you wondered why this would be? The answer is plain as day, but it might not seem so obvious if you don't have much experience with home improvements. To make it short, they want you both to be there so they can try to talk you into buying on the spot without taking any time to think it over. Remember these companies have been in business for years, they've met with thousands of folks who were considering a replacement window project just like you are. They know if they meet with the husband alone he's likely to say "I'll talk it over with my wife". And the wife will likely say the same thing about the husband. Or one partner about the other, you get the idea. Once that happens there isn't much the company can do to close the deal. They'll likely still try, but they know their odds are significantly reduced. DON'T TRUST ANY COMPANY THAT PERFORMS THIS SALES PRACTICE in my opinion. read more

Had them out to give me an estimate on a 6ft doorwall. Did their big show production on how their product was so superior to everyone elses. Then started bashing the other guys products and said my current windows were garbage because he just knew who did them--he was so wrong on that. I had concerns about the exterior work that needed to be done, he couldn't answer those questions, only the measure man and the installer would be able to do that. Trouble with that is I had to sign a contract before they could come out to check on the scope of work. No way would I sign without knowing if the work could be done or if it would be done in a way I would approve of. Oh, and the estimate was about $1200 more than a 6ft vinyl should cost. read more

My husband and I had WeatherGard products installed in our former home (our starter home) in 2009 and we were very pleased with their product so when it came time to get estimates for windows and doorwalls on our current home, we knew we had to call WeatherGard again. Our salesman, Allen, was prompt for our appointment and he was courteous of our time, knowing we only had 90 minutes for him due to a family obligation that afternoon. He completed his presentation in that 90 minutes with time to spare for us to ask questions. Allen was the 3rd quote we received and after little discussion, my husband and I decided to throw out the "other company's" quotes and sign on with WeatherGard. I've been putting off having my roof replaced for several years, hoping that I could get a few more miles out of the old one. It was 25 years old and I did it with some friends (all I could afford at the time). I finally pulled the trigger this season and called WeatherGard. I worked with Brett Hanson (great guy) as a salesman... he went over all the details so there were no "unexpected" extras. The project got scheduled a few weeks later (late spring) and the team arrived right on time. I've recently had a new front lawn installed and was paranoid that the guys would destroy the grass or the landscape (NOPE!). When they left the only changes were to the roof (imagine that in today's world, a company that does exactly what it agreed to do...). They even shielded my wife's flowers (which I usually get in trouble for crushing myself). I did go with the ridge vent to aid in allowing the roof to "breath" (who knew?). The team cleaned up all the nails (I found only three that washed out of the gutters after the first heavy rain (expected). No debris... they dropped and collected their own dumpster, and the whole job was finished in under eight hours. When I did it myself it nearly killed me and took two days (daylight to dark). I warned the team ahead of time that there might be some "soft spots" on the roof and was happy to find that fewer than I expected needed replacing (slight charge for the replacement, of course). Had them out to give me a window and door quote. They started out at almost 21,000 dollars and came all the way down to 12,600 dollars and got upset because I still wanted to get other quotes. Was told I needed to put 30 percent down to lock in the price. Kept trying to pressure me into signing a contract right away. They also gave a quote on a Provia entry door which was a little over 10,000 dollars. I already had a quote from a different company for the exact same Provia door that was 6000 dollars. Just shows how much they are overcharging. The rude salesman finally figured out that I wasn't going to sign right away and as he was leaving the house he stated "I guess you don't really want quality windows" This company will never get my business and I will make sure no one I know ever buys anything from weatherguard. read more

Dont deal with this company, they are horrible they came out and gave me an estimate on windows i agreed to the price when they got ready to come out to install the windows the price went up ow we did not add one window price goes up by $700 dollars. Installers cam out used old dirty filthy tarps screws all over my floor i had to pickup the screws off the floor other wise they would damage the floor did not remove the glue off the glass i had to get a 30 foot ladder to get all the glue off the window which that was there job to do .the Calkins on the windows horrible job one window the whole calking pealed off other windows have the same problem have ben calling and calling and calling getting the runaround try to tell me i did it finally they set an appointment to come out i called to confirm the appointment no you dont have an appointment. Garbage every where left out after the job i had to clean up .they used card board boxes on my carpet to walk on in my house the job was not completed they wanted me to pay the due amount if your thinking about doing business with this company expect the same problem such horrible experience. read more

A salesman for WeatherGard came to our door and did not announce what company he represented and immediately started asking about our windows. While I explained that he was the 3rd window salesman that came to our door in the last month, he continued with his pitch. I told him I only had one window I would consider replacing and he said that is fine that he will schedule a meeting with me and my wife (required that my wife be present because apparently we are not capable of making decisions without our spouse). So the next day a different guy showed up and basically ignored the window that I said I wanted to replace and immediately went in to my house and looked at my windows and proceeded to tell me how crappy they were. While I know the windows are no good, I did not want to replace them at this time, just the one that is leaking. When I made this clear to him, he said that they do not replace just one window and will only do a minimum of five. So, basically, the whole meeting was a scam from the beginning as they just wanted to get in my house to try and sell us a whole house of windows. They lied about being able to replace the one that was leaking even though I told him that was the only one I was interested in. Would not recommend them at all. read more
