We haven't stopped here in quite some time and decided to go for dinner. The service was very good. Our drinks were kept fresh and our server checked on us many times. I tried the walleye filet, broiled. The fish was good, just lacking a little on the flavor side. My sides were green beans which were very tasty and Cole slaw, also good. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and they keep everything neat and clean. I'm glad we went. I forgot to mention I tried the Key Lime pie for dessert. It is delicious! read more

If you are planning to dine at Webber's, definitely check on the current road closure on Summit Street if you are coming from the north. The road is totally closed and the detour may take you 15-20 minutes out of your way if you're taken by surprise. Just know your detour options in advance and you'll be fine. That said, it's worth the effort to make it to Webber's! The location is in Erie, MI technically, but it feels like Point Place. It's located on Lake Erie or the river flowing into Lake Erie and is a very casually charming location. Be sure to have a reservation unless you don't mind dining in the bar area. We were there to celebrate a birthday and were seated inside (in A/C on a hot humid evening) and had a pleasant table with a view of the waterfront. The atmosphere is very comfortable, though I wish they had booths. Nevertheless, we had a nice dining experience. Our server was friendly and efficient. She immediately got us started with drinks and answered questions about specials and the menu. My friend had tried and true fish and chips and took home leftovers. I haven't been here since I was a kid and it was so much better than I remember. The walleye fillet was super fresh and one of the best walleye meals I have ever had! We finished dinner with the key lime pie and it was also one of the best slices I've had. The views of the river, especially towards dusk, made dinner feel more special. Service was great, but it stops there. Family of five went there for mother's day. We were told we had to order only from a special Mothers day menu, but then told they were out of the steak we wanted and pretty much everything on that special menu. They had no bacon. They had no tomatoes. Even after they didn't have what we wanted. I asked a manager if we could order shrimp cocktail and a perch sandwich and was simply told NO. They walleye was completely full of bones. The French onion soup was the worst I have had. The calamari was served cold. The clam strips were fine.My son said his perch and frog legs were good. The best thing I had was a piece of dinner bread that they charged me extra for. I expect alot more for how expensive this was. I will never come back. Always had a smile, drinks never went dry, quick to take our orders, just a great job. The food... I ordered the fried walleye. It had no flavor whatsoever. None. My niece's BF ordered the NY strip. He piled on the salt and A-1... it had no flavor. My sis ordered fried shrimp. It had no flavor. We're talking $45+++ dollars per person and it just sucked. To start out, the service was great. My meal however was not. I've never sent back a meal in all the years of dining. I ordered a fillet and a side of shrimp, with green beans. I am quite the foodie and from the first bite of each I was very disappointed that all three lacked flavor. The steak, I ordered medium rare, though it was more medium. The beans were cooked well as was the shrimp. One should not have to douse the food with excessive salt to pull flavor out of the meal. The overall rating would be two stars at best. Our server was wonderful and I feel my reaction should have been directed to the chef, who coincidentally was the owner. I'm sorry to say I will not be returning for another meal even though three years prior to my recent visit the food was delicious! Every summer I would visit Webber's with my dad and sit on the patio for dinner. It was his wish to have his celebration of life there. This past weekend it was time for us to come good on that request. The staff at Webber's did an outstanding job of accommodating our family and friends - even though they had been open for just a few days this season. They made us feel welcome, took great care of our group and the food was great - they even had Key Lime Pie out their normal rotation! It brought great closure to our family as we toasted our father at one of his favorite places looking out at one of his favorite views. As a kid, my grandmother would talk of growing up in Point Place and visiting Webber's fondly. As a young adult, I always associated Webber's with old people and avoided it like the plague. As their neighboring River Cafe closed, we realized we needed a new Ottawa river fix and revisited Webber's as actual adults. We're glad we did. Sitting outside at the bar, the (fried) food was good, the atmosphere was welcoming and the bartender was fantastic. Take note, while I was looked upon as crazy for the request, they WILL add cajun seasoning to any items on the menu. Also, the clam strips are the biggest we've ever experienced in the best way possible. We will be back for more. Net time we'll grab a table as the bar crowd can be a little suspect. This used to be a good place to eat, but they have slid off what they used to be and are living off their reputation. We dined here yesterday for probably the first time in at least a year. They were crowded and we ended up putting our name in then sitting in the bar area, but when we found out we could eat in the bar, did that instead. The service was excellent. Unfortunately the food was not. I had the broiled jumbo shrimp, the wife getting fried perch and shrimp. My shrimp weren't at all jumbo, and weren't deveined. My wife's perch and shrimp also weren't good, plus her perch had bones. I sampled both of hers. We've been frequenting a local food truck, and the perch I've been getting from them is great, vastly better than Webbers (let alone that the food trucks hasn't had a single bone in them so far). Plus our bill was fifty eight dollars, which didn't included any drinks. This is mediocre food being grossly overpriced. The clientele we saw here was no one under fifty, aside from grandkids being taken out to dinner. So it seems to be just people who are used to eating here and simply like the atmosphere who keep this place going. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I decided to head to the point to eat at Webbers. We saw how nice the outdoor sitting area was - overlooking the water and not to mention a menu that looked pretty tempting! Once we sat down outside, we were extremely confused by the bar outside as we thought we were coming to a restaurant to enjoy the ambiance. It was loud; almost unruly. We asked our waitress if we could move more towards the water where it would be more quiet. We also noticed there were a few 2-seater tables open further away from the bar. The waitress said those tables were not available as they were spoken for. Gotcha. The waitress was not attentive. At all. My husband ordered soup. We had to keep reminding her to bring it. When our drinks were gone, we had to ask for more. The service was not something I would have expected when you are spending at least $100. So, if you want a place w a nice view, this is the spot - you just have to try to block out the drunk guests at the bar and poor service. Oh, and in the 2 hours we were there (again, poor service), those tables we asked for, no one ever sat in any of them! read more

We ask the hostess for outdoor seating only and after being told 2 hour wait we still decided to stay. Went to the bar while we waited and got the worst service we have ever had by the rudest bar tender. I ordered a jack n diet and a high noon for my wife. The bar tender threw a bar menus at me and said we don't have high noon tell your wife to pick one of these. Shortly after this great experience the hostess tried to seat us indoors which is a cave atmosphere and not what we requested. Once finally seated outdoors as originally requested it took 15 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us. Once she saw us 10 minutes later she took our order. At this point we just needed something to eat. We placed our full order including appetizers which showed up with the food of course. Great place for some good perch and a nice water front dinner. Never a wait inside, but might have to wait 30 mins for a table outside. Worth the wait though. Can ways sit at the bar while you wait. Other have talked about not being seated if their full party isn't there. I support that! You can stand up front and wait.... It won't kill you karen. Also you go here for seafood and seafood only. First time at Webber's and it was just ok. We waited a while to be seated. I get it's the covid era but we still waited what I consider to be lengthy, over an hour. They sat us outside on the water, which would have been nice during the day, however there was absolutely no light we all had to get out our phones just to read the menu. The food was good. The New England clam chowder was the highlight. I went with the English fish and chips for $14. I guess I expected it to be better than 4 strips of cod and french fries. Terrible. Don't bother. We entered the restaurant and asked for a table outside for two. Hostess said "about 30 minutes, go sit in the bar". Frankly, I thought that was pretty rude. No "welcome", no "please make yourself at home in the bar", just a jerk. I ordered fish and chips and we both asked that the french fries be cooked to the crispy side. French fries came soggy and lukewarm. The fish appeared to be generic fare from Sam's club (and tasted it). The waiter never returned to ask us how our food was. In fact, the only time we saw him was when I asked for the bill and he came back and asked if we wanted dessert (we didn't). I told him about the french fries, and he couldn't of cared any less. Just said "sorry". Exiting, the hostess or the owner said goodbye or something to the effect of "I hope you enjoyed it or come again". I said this is the last time are you going to see me here....terrible". You would've thought someone who actually cared about the business would've asked why. Nope There are too many good restaurants in town to bother with this one. Don't waste your money here. The only redeeming quality (that didn't save the dinner) was the view from the patio. AVOID HERE AT ALL COSTS!! Unless you are a regular, they are quite rude. I would never return here, they refused to sit us while waiting for a couple of members of our party who were just a few minutes away. The hostess was extremely Rude and condescending. When we asked for her manager, the manager gave us some lip service and just said, well go sit at the bar. They had MANY tables open inside and there was no wait. They were clearly nicer to the regulars and of you were not then they were not interested. The food was mediocre at best. My chicken was clearly under the broiler too long and then sat out for too long. We all ordered drinks and noticed that after the first they were watered down. DO NOT GET one of the ones made from mixes. When we mentioned the drink was clearly more mix and there was only a hint of a shot, she became rude and said well you can pay for another shot. Went the place next store and they were so much nicer. We couldn't bare staying there anymore after the mediocre food and horrible customer service. The place next store seemed to be much friendlier and made Is feel welcomed. All in all you would have thought they were doing us a favor to feed us and take our money. I travel on business to Toledo occasionally and am always looking for a good local restaurant. I found it at Webber's! Wonderful view of the Ottowa River as it meanders into Maumee bay. I had the special walleye and perch. One was fried the other broiled. Both done excellently! Not overdone dry but perfectly done moist. Onion rings were excellent. Oh and I ordered their Caesar salad. I make my own at home and this was by far the closest any restaurant has ever come to mine. I have the Creme Brulee for desert...excellent suggestion by my watress, Meghan. I have had Creme Brulee all over the US and France and this was one of the best, IMO. Webber's is a must for me anytime I am back in Toledo. read more

I was there last night to celebrate a birthday party and my first experience was NOT GOOD! The greeter was very rude and basically talked down to us. We asked for the manager and when she came and we expressed the rudeness, she was less than interested. The food was also less than desirable....chicken was dry and salty....escargot tasted sandy, old and salty..yuk! We left there and went next door to Tony's Quarterdeck and had a much more pleasant experience and had very NICE waitstaff. Do yourself a favor and go there instead! read more

3 and 1/2 on this one. We enjoyed our salmon and Scallops and the drinks were reasonable. The price point is what we expected for "by the water" so no disappointments there. One thing I thought was a let down was the quantity of scallops received for the price. I've done better almost everywhere else I've gone on this dish. The best being Trapperz in LaSalle where I've received almost double the scallops for $5-6 less for the entrée and just as delicious too. If you walk in and see the Hostess/Manager/Woman who looks like shes having an affair with the guy who cleans her pool, that means you're in the right place. You should probably turn around..otherwise if you're not at least 55 Years old with a Ralph Lauren Sweater Vest on, you're about to get shit on. Don't worry about their tip because it's already added on the bill. (You'll have to find that out yourself though.) The food takes about as long as an episode of 60 Minutes to come out. Your cocktail will automatically refill itself with the ice that melts in it before your waitress asks if you want another. In the summer, when it's not mayfly season, the patio on the river is amazing. We ordered sangria (1 peach & 1 tropical) and beach bread to start out. All were excellent. Our entrees took quite a long time to arrive, though our server, Jeremy, was great. He kept checking in and kept us apprised on the status of our meals. I ordered broiled jumbo shrimp and my friend ordered the fried shrimp and perch. We both ordered a baked potato as the accompaniment and beets as the side. My shrimp was good, but the portion was small, given the price, and the shrimp themselves seemed more medium sized than jumbo. The shrimp included with my friend's combo were considerably larger than mine and more in keeping with my idea of jumbo shrimp. The baked potato was served dry and was pretty flavorless. Butter wasn't provided or offered. Paying 50 cents for sour cream, given the price point for the dinner seems excessive. I would go back again for the view, drinks and the beach bread, but I would probably skip the entree. It wasn't worth the price paid. read more

This was our first experience at Webbers. Food - Overpriced for what we got, portion sizes small. My fish and fries looked frozen, not fresh. Same with the shrimp our friends received. Lots and lots of ice in drinks, but could not get ice for our water. Service - Went with a large party and had the mandatory 18% gratuity added to our bill. Waitress was rude, had bad attitude, was flippant when asked for things (Said, "Hot sauce isn't available, another customer is using it.") We hate it when we are forced to tip someone who treats guests this way. A great wait staff will often save the day if the food is not the best, but both are lacking here. read more
