    Chicken Fried Steak

When asking around for a breakfast spot with generous portions, friendly prices, and awesome New Mexico taste (preferably with chiles), the unanimous winner was Weck's. So, off we went! I normally go all out on the food portion of my review first but I feel the need to mention the service first for Weck's. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the host and was informed of their specials that day. Within seconds, we had our waitress bringing us water and taking our order with her checking up on us in the perfect time intervals. Keep in mind, this was all while the restaurant was nearly packed. Great job staff! The food was awesome too. Remember what I said in the beginning of the review about portions, prices, and taste? Well, we got it and more! The chicken fried steak burrito I got (with green chiles on top!) was amazing with a great ratio of everything especially the hash browns. My girlfriend was also very pleased with the chicken fried steak she got. If you're looking for a breakfast/early lunch spot, look no further!

Friendly and Great energy at this location! My Carnitas Burrito was very reasonably priced especially since it was served as a plate. It was loaded with Carnitas and just enough chile so it wasn't soggy! The hash browns were crispy and the pinto beans were a beautiful light color. Devina was my server and she was a breath of fresh air! She was so sweet and friendly and provided excellent customer service! My first time at this location I'll be back ! Yum!

Seriously????? Doesn't even fit In the plate. Meal for three anyone?? And, it's deeeeelish! Highly underrated breakfast joint!

It's pretty hard to beat their $6.75 hand-held (roader) breakfast burrito. It's delicious and filling...what's else is there to add??

Weck's is always good, no matter what location. I appreciate Weck's consistency. Everything was delicious. Service was quick, efficient, and kind. Every question I had Weck's replied "YES!" There is a discontinued French toast cinnamon raisin item. Any way, Weck's makes it for me every time regardless of its disappearance from the menu. The food is good, the service is professional, and the price is reasonable. I recommend Weck's.

At the start of a road trip we stopped by Weck's for breakfast. The place was pretty full but we got a seat right away, but I was concerned that the food delivery might delay the start of our adventure. Nope. Whoever is running the kitchen at Weck's is a masterful manager. The food came so quickly I thought they may have read our minds out in the parking lot. I got Juevos Rancheros and my wife got the chicken fried steak burrito. Both were wonderful, flavorful and there was a lot of food. Service, too, was speedy and the place is really clean to boot. What a great start to our adventure with a terrific meal delivered at record speed by a very friendly staff. Five stars all around.

Really? This is what we get for $17? I would have taken it back but it was a delivery. Something black in the middle of the hash browns. No jelly or butter for the English muffin? Horrible food will never buy from here again.

Back at Weck's twice in one week, but to 2 different locations. This time we tried the one near Cottonwood in Albuquerque. The service was quick and efficient. Our order came out of the kitchen quickly and I forgot to take pictures of them, because we were sooooo hungry and could not wait to dig in. The spinach omelette was as good here as at the RR location, except our gal forgot to make the order change from cheddar to Swiss. I did not complain, and have to wait for another to be whipped up. My friend had the everything omelette with green chili's and a side of bacon. Got done scrambled eggs to go with bacon and an English muffin. He will enjoy later. The ice teas were refilled and even got a large cup to go. The prices here are great. Do not forget the Senior discount.

Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

(Except for the noise from an occasional loud vehicle that drove by!) We ordered two appetizers: Korean Chicken Bites and Parmesan Zucchini Ribbons. The chicken bites weren't our favorite. Just okay. But the zucchini ribbons with the lemon basil aioli were so good! I would go back just to order that starter again. One disappointment is that I really wanted to order the Shishito Peppers. No longer on the menu. My meal was the Pastrami Reuben with fries. I switched out the Swiss cheese for cheddar. I liked the meal, and it was enough to bring half of the sandwich home for lunch the next day. The other two ordered the Crispy Pork Belly & Tomato Jam flat bread. One liked it, the other was just okay with it. Two of us ordered sangria. It was white, which came as a surprise to us. It was less sweet than we prefer. Another in our group ordered a mocktail and quite liked it. Got a second one and I don't believe they charged for the refill. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of it. It might sound like I have too many issues to give a 4-star rating, but I stand by it. The amience was nice. The wait staff was pleasant. The menu was creative. I'll definitely go back.

When we walked onto the patio and took in those sweeping views of the Sandias, I was ready to love this place. Los Poblanos has all the ingredients of a truly special dining experience: a gorgeous setting, a thoughtful farm-to-table ethos, and a menu that promises something above the ordinary. Which is exactly why the evening's annoying missteps were so disappointing. Service was well intentioned but unpolished. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and, at times, unfamiliar with the menu -- a problem when guests are asking genuine questions about the food and wine. We ordered bread which came before our drinks were served. Wine service was inconsistent. I ordered an Albariño by the glass - 6 oz. My sister ordered the Cabernet listed on the menu as a recommended pairing for her entrée, priced at $11. After we placed our drink orders, the waiter returned to inform her that the menu price was incorrect -- the wine was actually $18. She agreed to proceed. He then asked whether she wanted "a half glass or a full glass," which is an oddly imprecise question at a restaurant whose menu specifies pours in 3, 6, and 9 oz increments. She said half glass. What arrived was 3 oz of wine in a small serving carafe, which the waiter simply poured into her glass -- no bottle presented, no taste offered. My own Albariño, by contrast, was brought to the table in the bottle with a proper taste before pouring. The disparity in service between the two of us was striking. A simple, clear statement -- "3 oz of this wine is $18, not $11; would you still like it?" -- would have resolved everything cleanly. Instead, the vague "half or full glass" framing left my sister without the information she needed to make an informed choice. For what it's worth, the wine itself was extraordinarily tannic -- borderline undrinkable -- and I would have sent it back. My nephew ordered a top shelf whiskey. The waiter told him "we don't have that". My nephew said "it's on your menu" to which the waiter responded "oh, let me check on that". There seemed to be too many instances of the waiter running back to the bar to check on stuff. Anyway, it was available. The waiter apologized. We ordered the bread which was served before our drinks arrived. Food took about an hour which is fine - I don't have an issue with that but during that time we never saw the waiter again. I ordered the soup of the day - potato and leek which was delicious. Followed by the blackberry salad, which was my main course. Both arrived simultaneously, with the salad placed in front of me and the soup set to the side as an afterthought. At a restaurant at this price point, the expectation that soup precedes salad is not an eccentricity -- it is simply correct service. When I expressed my surprise, the servers seemed genuinely puzzled, which suggests this may be a training gap rather than an isolated incident. As for the salad itself -- it was pleasant, but pleasant is not enough here. The blackberry salad was the kind of thing you might enjoy at a well-run casual chain: competently assembled, inoffensive, and forgettable. At a farm-to-table restaurant with access to exceptional local ingredients, I expect the plate to reflect that -- more intentional presentation, more layered flavors, something that is more elevated than what was presented. This one didn't. The gap between the setting and what landed on the table was wider than it should have been. My sister and nephews ordered the filet mignon and rib eye. Both arrived pre-sliced -- a presentation trend that has made its way into fine dining, though one that divides opinion. My concern, beyond personal preference, is practical: sliced meat loses heat faster, and at roughly $80 per entrée, guests should receive their steak in the condition that best showcases it. The quality was good, not exceptional. Los Poblanos is a restaurant with genuine promise and a setting that few can match. The concept is right; the execution needs work. The issues I encountered -- inconsistent wine service, course sequencing, and a discombobulated waiter-- are not kitchen problems. They are fixable. I hope the restaurant takes that seriously, because the bones here are excellent and the experience should be too.

So much flavor, and the steak was perfectly tender. The restaurant has food nailed. And our server was amazing. Unfortunately, th manager did a poor job estimating how busy they'd be on a Friday night, so the two servers were running ragged. The manager pitched in, but they were playing catch up with the silverware and we had to wait for it when the food arrived. Which, no biggie, but it was a fork when I had steak and my husband had a messy burger. So we right away asked for knives. I pointed out my steak, and the manager got snarky with us like she got it. But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. It's hard for people to trust the food safety if the job-food public areas aren't kept clean and well-maintained, you know? We'll be back because the food IS awesome and we always have an enjoyable meal. But they definitely need to turn an eye toward building upkeep and service.
