Great customer service at Weekend Coffee! I had their cappuccino with agave and it was pretty solid. My only critique is that whenever I asked what coffees they had for pour overs, the barista brought me a bottle with coffee beans inside to smell it, but it smelt old and it made me gravitate to a cappuccino. However, I smelt the Victrola coffee beans through the retail bag and it smelt delicious, so my point is, switch out your beans daily to let customers smell fresh beans. Friendly baristas, but today their coffee brew machine was down, so they offered an American for my bf (he didn't like it, sadly, & free of charge), then replaced it with a cappuccino (free of charge, & happier customer). It's so nice to get a chic and trendy coffee shop in downtown Dallas. The hotel lobby is a gorgeous boho/west elm mix. Awesome specialty coffee choices, a coffee snob would approve. Only complaint is some of the baristas are better than others so your coffee experience might vary depending on who your barista is. If your not picky with your coffee (which I am) you might not even notice. I was in Dallas for a few days, and stopped at this beautiful storefront cafe. It is part of the Joule hotel and has a modern upscale boutique feel to it. I would recommend the gibraltar, which was brewed perfectly. The baristas were helpful and engaging and really made you feel welcomed. I subsequently returned every morning. I would like to give a big SHOUTOUT to Nicole Thornbrough, manager at Weekend Coffee. I had purchased a ceramic tumbler from their store and long story short, it broke during the transport in my luggage. I had reached out to the manager and she graciously provided a new one to me. I am extremely appreciative of the exceptional service provided. Beyond the amazing coffee, the people truly care about their customers. Came here in desperate need to cool off and have an energy boost as well. This place is located in downtown inside a hotel. Very small and to the point coffee shop. The staff were exceptional and even gave my family some suggestions to explore. I ordered the cold brew which was indeed refreshing but I didn't get enough vanilla flavor as they were supposed to add some vanilla to it. My wife ordered the iced chai tea. She said it could've been sweeter but I honestly felt it was the best chai tea I've tasted. All in all, we both enjoyed this coffee shop. read more

Disclaimer: I'm biased based on the fact that I think The Joule is the most gorgeous, luxurious hotel in DFW and this coffee shop is located in the lobby of the hotel. So with that, I went to Weekend Coffee with high expectations and positive thoughts. I wasn't disappointed. The coffee shop itself is small, bright with a minimalistic feel. The barista was cool and chatted with me as I asked a million questions. I ordered my normal vanilla latte, which was full of flavor and delish. It was also pricey at $4 for a size smaller than the "tall" offered at SB. The barista mentioned that I visitors of the coffee shop can park at the hotel and have their parking ticket validated. There's also plenty of seating in the lobby for an afternoon of people watching. I grabbed my coffee and walked around for a second but I'll be back for a more lingering visit. read more

The boyfriend and I came here to get a couple americanos and some pastries this morning. The cafe is inside a hotel lobby and is very trendy looking. They have tables and couches right outside the cafe to sit and relax in. This place had great reviews so we were excited to try it. The baristas were very cheerful and nice and attended to us right away. We saw on yelp that they were famous for their soft-boiled egg biscuit thing, but when we asked about it they told us it had been "discontinued." So we went with their regular buscuit and croissant. The biscuit was good but the croissant was very dry ...crazy huh? You'd think it would've been the other way around. Anyways, moving on to the americanos. Located inside a hotel lobby and perhaps not designed as well as a lot of coffeeshops around; where Weekend Coffee is short on design, it's big on substance. Very smooth, albeit pretty simple espresso that has a very traditional caramel chocolate flavor without much of anything else. If someone wanted to try espresso for the first time, I'd put these shots near the top of the agreeable list. Also got a cortado (which they call a Gibraltar), and it was prepared well. Service was solid but not exceptional, friendly but not over the top. All in all, if you want a coffeeshop to deliver a solid espresso beverage without the glitter and snootery of many "craft coffee" shops, weekend coffee nails it. Perhaps a better name for weekend coffee would be "honest coffee": straight up good. Will return. Tomorrow morning. read more
