My mom has been raving about this place for a couple of months now and she really wanted me to experience it for the first time. We decided to brave the cold and traveled all the way from Norfolk to Wegmans. This place reminded me of Kroger, but better. The first thing that we saw as soon as we entered Wegmans were all of the food places (burger bar, sandwich place, desserts, etc). There is alot of fresh food and hot food there. If you keep walking further into Wegmans, you see aisles like a traditional grocery store. We purchased a couple of items. We also decided to get a large sub sandwich. Before I start let me start off by saying that this review is based solely on my opinion and my opinion alone so with that being said let's begin.. This is my first visit to Wegmans and I was somewhat impressed ( I'm not impressed easily ) but I like the parking garage because it's covered so if you need to put your groceries in the car during rainy weather it won't be a big deal because you're not getting wet! You walk inside and you're greeted by a greeter but instead by pastries, fruits all sorts of yummy temptations! ( so bring your discipline along with you when you come )! Wegman's is my favorite grocery store. They have a excellent seafood, meat, and produce selection. I can find just about anything I'm looking for here. The staff is extremely helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you find what you are looking for or they prepare a meat or seafood as requested. Their bakery is excellent, everything is made in Wegman's. I have purchased custom cakes and desserts and always have a positive experience. I have used Wegman's catering service for birthdays and special events. I've had their catering service delivered to my home and picked up in store, both positive experience. Their cheese selection is one of the best you will find, I highly encourage anyone looking at their cheeses to talk with the experts behind the counter. They provide excellent pairing options and information about their different selections, where they derive from, etc. I find the Wegman's brand selections affordable and high quality. Wegmans meat selections are awesome and is price right. I like the parking garage in front of the entrance. I've been to several Wegmans in the East coast and I wanna say that this particular one just need to reorganize the produce area and have it more presentable compared to the other ones I've been. I haven't try their ready made food at the lobby but next time I'm gonna try it. It's busy in here and it's hard to maneuver with your shopping cart. Wegmans, oh how I've missed you. Since we left Maryland and moved to Georgia, we never thought we'd see another so soon. Came home to visit my folks and low and behold a Wegmans has popped up! My daughter and I lived for their tiny $1 macarons. Instead of having them sold by the singles, they had them boxed up by the dozens. A little disappointing if you don't care for some of the flavors, mango for example. Nobody greeted us or asked if we needed help, kinda disappointing there. My daughter however loved her macarons, and wished she had more. As we strolled around the rest of the store, they were giving out oodles of samples. We even got to try a mini sample from s'mores amore, which is so nice because I've had them bookmarked for forever. I'm easily impressed whenever you bring out fire. We saw they also offered wine tasting, different cheeses, and today they had cannoli chips. My kiddo looked like she won the lottery. We'll be back for snacks before we head home. read more

I have visited Wegmans probably more times than I should. As I often tell those that have yet to partake in the greatness of Wegmans.... It is an experience that you shall never forget. Wegmans is truly a Foodies Paradise and playground. I literally hear harp music and angels singing as I walk into Wegmans and soak in the ambience. There is just so much to say about this super supermarket. From its artisan breads and hornet cheeses to its vast selection at its Hot Bar. There is just so much to choose from and sample. I have found so many great finds here. Chilean Sea Bass, Halibut, Wagyu Steaks, Crustaceans and not to mention such a beautiful display of fresh produce that even come from local farms. I was highly impressed with their cheese and charcuterie selection along with their extensive Vegan options. Wegmans even had Hispanic Goya Products... and Collards on the Hot Bar and pre packaged I feel like I a rambling child that has walked into a toy store and cannot seem to articulate with his words all that he has seen and desires to take home. Lol. Wegmans even has a wine selection and other alcoholic beverages. I have recently downloaded their app to get more specials and sales. So I am looking forward to seeing how that works in the near future Other great features are the small dining facilities within Wegmans. Along with hot and cold bar, they have a sushi area, burger joint, salads shop, sub sandwiches and bakery I assure you there is so much more. I would literally go on a 2 hour date to Wegmans. . Wow! It's like a mini grocery store city; separate entrance for wine/beer purchases is an innovative flow improvement. At the main entrance, we saw fair priced specials (sugar, sparking water) and very good quality organic/non-organic produce, along with other items you'd find in other grocery stores. One difference? Quality pre-made offerings and food court stores: burger bar, pizza counter, salad place, sandwich shop, dessert center, breakfast/coffee counter, etc. Pretty sure I saw a $9 sub sandwich bigger than my arm! Lots of signage didn't prevent us from feeling a tad overwhelmed with the size and variety of inventory. Of course, the busy crowd on a Sunday afternoon probably didn't help. Like anywhere, I suspect finding things becomes easier the more you return. From what we saw, there are lots of high value store brands in several categories of groceries we purchase (greek yogurt, granola, pasta noodles, canned tomatoes, lunch meat, cheese, sparkling water, shells n cheese, frozen waffles, etc). I'm not sure if I've ever said this (aloud) but I can't wait to go grocery shopping again! PSA - men's restroom had futuristic 3-in-1 stainless steel apparatus that dispensed soap, water and air jets based on motion proximity. Wegmans is located along Virginia Beach Blvd., just west of the intersection with Independence Blvd. You can see the sign for Wegmans along the road. They also have their own parking garage next to the building. My most recent visit here was on November 20, 2019. I'll start with my first visit, which actually didn't last too long. My first visit here was in April 2019 during the weekend when they first opened. First, parking was definitely scarce and they had police and others directing traffic due to how busy it was. After parking, we made our way in, but it felt more like going into a theme park on an extremely busy day. You were literally bumping into everyone and everything just to get around, so we didn't stay too long. However, we were able to check out various products available here and did end up purchasing a some items that day. The lines at the registers were well into the shopping aisles, with every single register open too. It took about 15 to 20 minutes waiting to check out that day. We waited a while to come back when some of the "newness" of the place faded. Fast forward to November 20, 2019. We came back then after having dinner in the Town Center area. We figured that it wouldn't be as crazy as it was that opening weekend. This was definitely the case. We were able to walk around the store much more easily. We made our way around the majority of the store and got more stuff in this visit as well. This was more like an experience that I would expect at a grocery store. The staff were throughout the store and were ready to help if needed. They have brand name items, as well as their own private label items. We did get some of their private label items instead of the name brand to try out. The items we did get and try were pretty much the same thing, but cheaper. After completing our shopping, we made it to one of the open registers and there was only one other person in front of us this time. Here are some overall observations I have seen in every visit here so far. Staff are readily available in each section to help you if you are looking for something in particular. The store is very large in size when compared to other grocery stores. They tend to have a wider selection of varieties of items that I haven't been able to find at other stores as well. They have several hot food options and even a restaurant. Pricing is actually pretty good here as well, and is quite competitive with the superstores in the area too. On the outside, if you are parked on the second level of the parking garage, they also have a cart escalator that you can use to get the cart up to the second floor. Overall, Wegmans is a solid grocery store and much more. This is the first Wegmans I have ever visited, as I didn't even know it was a thing until hearing from others that it was coming to the area. If you are in the Town Center area and looking for groceries, this is a great place to go. I would just try to go during the week, rather than during a weekend since it tends to be much busier on the weekend. read more

This is a food wonderland. For real. I've never seen a place this big. It's a compound. Seriously. I've had friends from Richmond and Northern VA who rave about Wegmans but I've never actually been to one. Parking was easy enough and the covered parking garage is a nice touch with vegetable-themed rows like "Corn 8" to remember where you parked. Inside is vast and full of anything culinary your heart could ever desire. As well as some home goods, plates, towels, silverware, etc. They have massive salad bars with fruits, asian items, salads, pasta salads and homestyle items as well as wings. There is a food court area with a pizza line, sandwich line, salad line and burger line. The deli was bustling, the bakery had fresh and seasonal items (almost July 4th so tons of red, white and blue right now) and loads of baked goodies - like anything you could ever want. I really liked the grab and go meals - either big enough for a family or for just one. The salads looked fresh and delicious. Beautiful, fresh floral arrangements and the largest selection of hummus I've ever seen anywhere - probably 50 different types and kinds and sizes. It was VERY crowded. I suspect for the 4th of July but it's probably always busy. But it could be a specialty place to stop when looking for something specific or for a special occasion. Honestly just stopped by because I wanted to know what all the hoopla was about! I was quickly able to find parking in the bell pepper section and entered from the Burger Bar/Market Cafe entrance. Saw recycling bins outside; ouhh la la. Instantly amazed as I walked it. It was so busy, but I loved the multiple food options: sandwich, burger, salad, sushi; just to name a few. I've heard many great things about their food, but I opted for some quick sushi. Enjoyed seeing an employee restocking as things were getting low and they had many options that I was battling in between. I stuck to the usual and got a spicy shrimp roll which I thoroughly enjoyed. The checkout line was quick and there were many booths and tables for patrons to stay and enjoy their food. For as busy as it was, I was literally in and out in about 5 minutes. Everything I've ever heard about Wegmans is absolutely true. It's truly a fairyland grocery store. Somehow even calling it a grocery store doesn't seem right. It's actually a food paradise. The Town Center location is extremely convenient . It sits between Virginia Beach Boulevard & Columbus Street in the Shopping Center across Independence from the center of Town Center. The easiest access is via Columbus Street. Enter and take advantage of the two level parking deck. The deck features a cart elevator for those who park on the upper level. Don't we love high tech!! Before your first visit, don't forget to install the Wegmans App on your phone and join the Shoppers Club. Navigating the App is extremely easy with the most useful features prominently displayed on the home screen. The digital coupons can be clipped with ease by choosing 'Clip All'. On the first visit I saved $14 with digital coupons on items that were on my grocery list. If you scroll through the coupons in search of items you need, the App will show you the exact products that qualify. You can then choose 'Add to List'. The Shopping List works great. It includes the aisle that each item is on. So there's no wandering through a really large store searching for something you've never purchased before. You can also check the items you've added to your cart, shading but not yet deleting. You can delete them individually later, unchecking the ones you plan to purchase again on the next visit. Enter to a choice of Family Pack produce, which is priced way too good to pass up. Walk straight back into fresh fruit and vegetables, prepackaged salads that you mix when ready to eat, and more Family Packs. The strawberries and blueberries are large, sweet and have an amazing price. Can you tell what my favorites are? Walk to your left to a choice of either the bakery section or the section containing a plethora of preprepared entrees or individual meals. Want to know my favorites? In the bakery section I adore the Strawberry Rhubarb Crostata. Yummm.... it's amazing!! The ready to cook Penne Alfredo with Chicken & Peas makes a tasty complete meal for two. The Alfredo sauce is so lightly added that it basically just coats the other ingredients. There is an ample amount of chicken and peas. Preprepared side dishes are also tasty. Steaming the Zucchini Noodles made a great addition to their Turkey Sage Meat Loaf. Steam fresh Broccoli from a Family Pack and you have a complete nutritional meal. We haven't even gotten to the fresh Seafood, Meat, Frozen Food Coolers, Dairy Coolers, and grocery aisles. Have I told you that Wegmans has the best price in Virginia Beach for Good Karma Flax Milk +Protein? It's a tasty alternative for someone who has a Cow's Milk allergy. Can we talk about the wine section? It's humongous!! And they have a great selection of hard to find wines, including the best Virginia Wineries. Hungry? Visit the Burger Bar on the Columbus Street side of the store. Or take advantage of the Salad Bar, Hot Food Bar, Poke Bar, Pizza Section or Market Cafe. Don't forget to bring in your reusable bags to help protect our environment from plastic bags. I carry mine in the back of the vehicle. If you joined the Shoppers Club you receive a free Wegmans bag on the first visit. You can also purchase additional bags economically at checkout. They also have an insulated bag that looks like it's a very usable size. I use the insulated ones I've purchased from other stores on a regular basis. At checkout, scan your Shoppers Club bar code (from the App on your phone) to access your Digital Coupons and Shoppers Club savings. I'm completely sold on Wegmans. Oh Wegmans! Thank you for blessing us with your presence! This is my first time inside a wegmans. My daughters saw the look in my eyes and asked if I love them just as much as IKEA. Haha. Yes! Yes I do! Parking is plentiful! Parking garages have both elevators and escalators to get to the floor and back up. Patrol was there today guiding customers. It was a breeze for us thankfully. The outside had beautiful flower displays and furniture displays. You can also find signs show casing specials going on. Upon walking in there is just so much to see. It was beautiful. Very packed on opening day but still managed to tour the place. We grabbed some groceries and treats from the bakery. We got our free reusable bag today. Team members were placed all throughout the store. Customer service was amazingly friendly and patient. My favorite lady so far was in the desserts. She told me about a lot of their desserts and cakes. Fresh fish was being sliced and diced. Cheese area had the best smells of fresh barrels of cheese. Huge wine selection. I could go on. This is a bustling location so I'd suggest taking a walk across the street at Walmart to avoid the parking sharks. From the minute you walk in the doors you are welcomed to an open market of fruits, veggies, and a booming array of food bars. I grew up with Wegmans in Rochester, NY. I watched it being built at Latta and Long Pond. When I learned it was coming here I was ecstatic. No disappointment. I was there the afternoon of opening and found Danny "Wegman" as I wore my very old Rochester T shirt. You can't but love this store. It has the largest GF selection I have seen anywhere. However I do think the meat selection is highly priced. I have purchased some and don't find them superior for the price. However their wine are priced lower than anywhere. Best grocery store ever! Wegmans has everything you could want in a grocery store. I am especially fond of their cheese selection and also peruse their sushi, deli, and butcher. They are well known for their alcoholic beverage selection, with all kinds of wine and beer. Just a note, there are only paper bags and there is a charge for each paper bag for a few cents. Wegmans has a great selection for every budget. There are Wegmans brand value products, along with Wegmans' artisan and gourmet options, and then brands people already know and love. They even have their own restaurant, the Burger Bar!! There's a Yelp page for that too! It is a huge store and pretty spacious in most areas, so when it gets busy, it's still easy to get around. On top of how awesome it is when you walk in, there is lots of parking! Wegmans even has its own parking garage with escalators and elevators. There's even an escalator for your cart!! This is a super accessible store for anyone, and there are options for however much you are wanting to spend on your visit. Avocados - I have issues with them ripening before they rot - three separate purchases did not. I'll stick with Costco. Produce overall - wonderful, with a huge selection. Salad bar - fabulous, great selection (salmon is good) Bagged salad - lasts better than Walmart's Bulk nuts - great Hot bar - fewer selections than in larger cities, but some good choices some are good. Cajun salmon cakes, cauliflower risotto, amazing. Yellow chicken curry, not. Cookies/baked goods - To. Die. For. Perfect Sushi - obviously the freshest around -fully staffed bar, working all day Prepared food - crab cakes, flank steak, portobello mushroom pizza - fab Packaged cheese got moldy faster than expected, for some reason Heavy cream went bad quickly. (Maybe the date was more advanced when purchased?) This store clearly markets based on the clientele. The experience here is a little different than in flagship stores. Tip....go shopping between 0800-0900. Anytime after that, it's crowded. Or go late at night. I love this place. The only way I would downgrade my rating is the pricing. I'll get to that later. Fresh Market and Wegman's are our go-to places. I spend most of my time in the prepared food aisles. The salmon poke is very good considering the fact this is Virginia. I have been very impressed with their selections of meat and fish. You can pretty much get anything in these aisles in regards to protein. The seafood section almost reminds me of the Seattle markets (a mini one). The deli section is just incredible. The selection of sliced meats and cheeses extend my time at the store exponentially. Everyone here is nice. From the bread guy, to the cheese lady, to the cashier's. It really feels like a happy place. Oh....and get your desserts. These folks can make desserts! I do wish the prices were a little cheaper. 30+ dollars for prepared shrimp is ridiculous and a can of lump crab meat is reaching towards 50 bucks. So, I just don't buy it. Overall, this is my store. Had a blood pressure machine delivered through uber eats, needed to return it because it seemed the reading was too far off from other readings. So I get to wegmans and there's a young boy there with a long explanation of why they can't refund me and how I need contact uber eats for refund. I ask how will they refund me unless I can give item back to store. He responded that I should donate the item or do whatever ! He was wrong of course. Long story short, staff needs to review the return policy and stop making up stuff. That whole donation speech was BS! If the return policy says you could even return for store credit , then how did all possibilities get thrown out the window because I used uber eats?! I didn't want the higher amount I paid uber eats, I had a receipt with the price wegmans charge. Finally after another woman tried to reinforce the same fake policy, a manager said go ahead and refund me. The frustration and time it took to dispute with uber eats and wegmans really left me dissatisfied with wegmans for not understanding their own published policies! read more

Soooo I love wegmans! This one particular is always neatly stocked and organized. The food smells soo fresh and the ambiance is nice. Scott from the bakery/ fresh breads section was amazing! He asked if I needed assistance, he helped with what I was looking for. Thanked me for shopping at Wegmans. Very pleasant and good customer service. The service is usually good however, this particular day I encountered two rude employees. The first one was a short lady that has a walker, she said move very loud to myself and another shopper. Then the cashier Parnitha (something like that) older women, has glasses, works on line 10. Was very slow, and when she accidentally charged me less, I told her and she was nasty about it. Saying normally ppl just take it and leave. I'm not a thief so I wouldn't. She was suppose to charge me for 8 candy bars but charged me for 6 instead. read more

They have fresh produce, fresh charcuterie and meats of every variety possible, seafood, to-go meals and fresh hot rotisserie to go as well! You name it, they have it!! They have exotic flavors of sparkling water, health and hygiene products, dinnerware, flatware, fresh fruit and trays, fresh veggies, even environmentally friendly products like reusable snack and sandwich bags that are microwaveable and dishwasher safe! *** COVID-19 Shopping Update Wegmans was already an amazing grocery store experience before this all happened but what they are doing now to ensure a safe shopping experience is pretty cool. First off, there is only one way in and one way out of the entire store; the cafe entrance is now blocked and cannot be used. It appears that they somehow keep track of how many people are leaving and entering the store. There are various hand sanitizing stations located throughout the store for use. Regarding the food in the prepared foods/cafe area, all items that used to be "loose" such as the cookie bar have now been pre packaged and the hot and salad bar are now a thing of the past. There are also markings on the floor to help with the social distancing initiative. I think one of the things I am most impressed with is the self check out area in which they limit customers to every OTHER register and the employees wipe down each station after every use which is pretty awesome. I've been here a few times now in the past several weeks and I've had good experiences.We didn't find TP and paper towels on one visit but that was because we came late at night. I recommend their take and bake pizzas and sushi if you want to do some cheap take out options! read more

I came to Wegmans 4 times within the last week. I not only love their great supply and selection but also how they are maintaining sanitization during this pandemic. I saw someone spraying alcohol and wiping down the carts in the area you return carts to in the parking garage. When you step in, there's alcohol wipes to wipe down your car as well as hand sanitizer. After each customer finished at a register, employees wipe down their register station before taking the next customer. It makes me feel safe to shop groceries at Wegmans. The staff is very friendly too. The man at the meat section was very bright and kind and was more than happy to answer any of our questions and give any recommendations. read more

Wegman's............ one word and that's WOW!!!!! It will take some time to review this place but this isn't just a grocery store, it's A PRODUCTION! You absolutely need to invest in a solid two hours minimum if your really want to soak in what Wegman's brings to the table. It is just incredible. Starting with the dining experience, that alone is mind blowing! All different types and variety to choose from, to the brick oven fresh pizza that is delicious, to a Burger Bar that has top notch burgers made to order. They also have a soup bar, fresh made sushi, breads, muffins, take home items, dinners to go...., just so many options if you want a meal while you shop, for lunch or dinner if you don't feel like cooking. The produce section is probably the best anywhere in the area! It has a fantastic selection of healthy food that you can't find in the normal grocery stores. They have fresh cut steaks, seafood, cheeses, desserts, it's just craziness. The grocery portion has so many items it would take many visits to get your bearings together. They also have your household items, bbq items, kitchens supplies, health care products, pretty much everything you need in one place. Now the craft beer section.....ummmm NOW WE TALKIN! You can hang out on this side (which is all the way to the end of the store and it's own vibe) for an hour easily! Just excellent but where it really gets mind boggling is when you get to the wine section! Woooooooooowwwwww!!!!!! Bottles from 5 dollars to 1000.00 dollars?!?!?! That wine better have "powers from above" in it for 1000.00 bucks!!!!! But, they have it. It's just crazy. So, I definitely need more time in here to get a better feel for it all, and we spent 2:30 hours in here. The one thing I would say is that the crazy really hasn't slowed down. It is pretty much a mad house in here. You really need to have superior patience being in here or some libations beforehand to soak it up. People are simply in their own world and crashing, stopping in the middle of the aisles, talking, leaving carts, running into you...... it's definitely madness in here. If that is a bit much for you, I would try to come on the weekdays when the average person is at work. Maybe morning to around 11am and 1:30 to 4? Possibly around 7:30 to close? Weekends are insane. Oh, price point. It's like Kroger's meeting Wholefoods with a splash of Trader Joes. I will say that their Wegman's brand is top notch and just as good. It's also much cheaper and what lots of our products consist of. Anyhow, its a serious production and grocery EXPERIENCE for sure so make sure you set plenty of time aside for it but it is TOTALLY worth a trip Wegman's! read more

So I had a review about this place before and it keeps getting worse needless to say I won't be returning...Yuck this place sells bad meat ALL THE TIME. I personally wouldn't come here anymore plus it's VERY chaotic. I've visited at off peak hours and still no good. read more

Caveat: I am a bit of a Wegmaniac, and if you look at my reviews, I think I've given almost every Wegmans I've been in 4 or 5 stars. We were on our September road trip, heading from the Outer Banks to Assateague Island Seashore, and decided to hit up the one Wegmans that's on our trip, so we stopped at this one, one of the newer ones in the empire. It's a pretty standard newer one, built on the Pittsford flagship design, which is very large. They have awesome produce, meats, prepared foods, and the store brands, let me tell you about the store brands! They're high quality at good prices. We loaded up our cart with stuff we wanted to take with us, as well as a few things for camping. Like any other Wegmans, the staff here was great! I had no problems finding anything we were looking for. Great job with another great store! read more

I knew I would love the new Wegmans because I am a big fan of the chain but the VB store really is that amazing! Wegmans is a staple where I went to college and I've been to a handful of them so I knew what to expect but the new store went above and beyond what I dreamt up in my mind! Some of my favorite thing about the VB store specifically include their wide array of hot and cold food stations! This place is not just a grocery store, it's so much more! With the option to create your own hot meal or salad as well as the ability to order a sub, custom salad, burger and more, Wegmans has it all! On our trip, we decided to eat from the hot food and salad bar! I made a delicious salad and he sampled much of what is to offer from the hot food which includes everything from Chinese to soul food, veggies and more! I really like that they have a quiet and comfy cafe type area where you can enjoy your food before you get your shop on! The food is also really good and well-priced! Additional things I like about Wegmans on the grocery side include the huge flower shop with excellent selection and pricing, the amazing pastries and bread offerings, the massive amount of beer/wine/cider available and how well organized everything is! One can easily peruse the aisles and find exactly what you are looking for or everything you didn't know you needed! My favorite aspect of Wegmans is that they are really supporting our local businesses! On just this trip and without specifically looking, I saw beer from many of our local breweries, wines from around Virginia and even the s'mores from S'mores Amore! The fact that they are so heavily supporting our local "mom and pop" shops warms my heart and will keep me shopping there! Overall, Wegmans is a gem and I am so glad to see one in VB! I really hope the area supports them (and judging by how busy it is, I know they will) as they continue to support our area! Welcome Wegmans! read more
