I've read previous reviews which were negative, but my fellow traveler wanted to eat Chinese food. We thought we'd go and experience it ourselves. The food was very good, and the service was quick, friendly, and was quite attentive. We were originally thinking of eating family style--sharing our orders. However, we ended up finishing our own individual orders. Being visitors from California we were surprised to see the tip already added to our bill. My advise is just to make sure you don't double tip, unless you want to. read more

One of the few Chinese places available in Wisconsin Dells area. They were open and had dinner buffet. The service was friendly but food were old from lunch time and the serving wares not changed out during dinner time do it was hard to pick up food because there so much sauce that had dried up during the lunch period. The white rice smelled burnt but it tasted alright. Pricing was ok. Drink was not included for $15.99 and for this price I feel it at least include hot tea. read more

We had dinner on our last night in Wisconsin Dells. My father-in-law had the dinner buffet. We ended up ordering from menu for fresh mixed vegetables, triple delight lo menu, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. We did not do the buffet. We ordered from the menu and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very fresh and seasoned well. We got the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Szechuan chicken, chicken lo mein, house Mei fun, egg rolls, pot stickers, crab Rangoon and the chicken friend rice. I live in the area and patronize this Chinese restaurant a few times a year. If you have ever lived in a larger city with many Chinese restaurants to choose from, you would probably not find Wei's particularly appealing. The appetizers are good but I have the impression the entrees are probably pre-made/bagged and simply heated-up. All in all it is ok, similar in quality to the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets found in aging strip malls. Clean enough in the dining area, staff are just ok but during one visit last summer, there were two wait staff in the dining area and during a bit of down time, one of the girls, standing in the dining area for all eyes to see, kept drilling at her ear wax with her pinky finger. She then went on to serve food. English is not a strong suit here and I don't know how the staff can pass a food handler's course or be licensed. Just a thought. read more

The price for the food is okay, but I'd lower it down in my opinion. The service from the staff is great. But they aren't very communicative! Speaking of staff, they are a little short-staffed. The ambiance is alright, and so is the atmosphere. I'd say a little less tables will give us enough tables to walk around at least. Stopped in today for the Saturday buffet. For $17.99/person, I would hope the food would be fresher. However, most of it was lukewarm and seemed leftover from lunch. Ended up taking 1 plate back with the pepper chicken, general tso chicken, honey chicken, mushrooms, and rice. I could not take more than 1 bite of anything, absolutely awful. I stumbled across this place while on a solo trip in Dells. I went in on a Wednesday around noon and it was practically empty. Had the buffet. Food is not bad, but not the best Chinese food I've had though. I was greeted in by the lady/waitress politely. But afterwards she never came around again to see how I was doing or asked if I need a drink refill. When I finished and went to go pay my bill I felt like I was rudely treated as well. I don't think the lady is very friendly towards other Asians like myself. Anyway, I wish I would've noticed before I paid. But I was charged to pay for dinner buffet price instead of lunch buffet. I was putting my dauggter in a high hat and the waitress (older Chinese lady) told me I can't be in the aisle and grabbed my hand very hard a pushed me to the side while my 11 month old baby was in my other hand. As a business owner of the Sandrift here in the Dells ourselves, and having manage the office for our guests, this has been our go to location for quick carry out. The prices are good, the food is yummy, in the time between ordering and pick up is very short. It's generally ready before we can even get there after ordering. This is great as we can't leave our office unmanned for long periods of time during The main tourist season. to be honest, it's been a long time since we've had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant so I cannot comment. Place is very clean but also very empty. We were the only customers in the restraunt. We had pork egg rolls $1.50 ea that were quite small contrary to several complaints that the portions were to large. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and got two patties My wife ordered sweet and sour chicken. My egg foo young was the best I've gotten since we moved to Wisconsin 7 years ago. They auto charged 15% tips to the total bill for 4 persons. My kids did not eat much had to pay $17 plus tax and 15% tips is $22. If I have to pay $13 total. This restaurant is just amazing! The food was perfect and the wait time was about 5-11 minutes when serving more than 9 people! Its clean, quite, and sadly empty. I am just so happy that my family had an amazing time here and i could say its better than panda express, this place felt authentic and had beautiful Chinese decorations. Don't eat here. Save your money and go spend the same amount of money to eat somewhere that's actually worth it. They charge a 15% service fee for groups of 4 or more. This is a Chinese buffet in an old Wendy's in an off the beaten path location in a resort town. In other words, manage your expectations here. The buffet is small, but what is there is decently warm and tastes good. Service is super friendly and there is a very laid back family atmosphere about the place. When we went what was around 4pm the chicken was dry and the other food looked like it had been sitting out for awhile. Our waitress was nice but the manager was very disrespectful. We told the manager that the food was dry and was not the best in a nice manner and she started to talk to us a mean manner and did not care about our feed back. My brother and I did not eat anything because the food in my opinion was not good (dry and mushy). We asked for our money back us two but the manager refused and then finally gave it back but by yelling at us in front of other customers. I'm not the one to argue so she was embarrassing herself. But I would not recommend this place to no one personally and all I would say is look for more Chinese food options in in the dells.
