Called this place on my way to them from the UTC area. Got there in 5mins, told them I needed a smog, they took me in right away (Saturday am). I was out the door within the half hour, with my smog passed & the info sent electronically to DMV. As far as smog places go, this place is as good as it gets. David and Tai got me in last minute on a friday evening and had ironed out my repair within a couple hours. Cost for diagnosis and the repair itself was $175 which is entirely reasonable IMO. I had a stripped sub frame bolt and they welded in a new nut inside of the unibody and screwed in a new bolt. Overall I'm very happy with the shop. Quick repair, no BS, and reasonable fees. Yelped smog locations close to my area, found a couple shops very close and one right in mira mesa, but this one was the only shop that had 5 full stars, I saw that other posters have stated that they only had to pay 35 bucks. I called and a got a quote for 35 like they said and was told that I can go in within 30-40 mins, which was fine because I wanted to warm up my car anyways. Drove there, he was busy and acknowledge me and said "I will be with you in about 15 mins" I like to be acknowledged. I finally get to talk to him about 10 minutes later, he quotes me the same price and remembers my model through our phone conversation, he does the paper work, i sign and then after about 20 minutes I:m done, pay, and out the door. About 40 minutes from the time I park my car, wait to do paperwork, smog, pay, and drive off. Very happy. He tells me that my engine is knocking and what possible issues that might be and suggest alternatives such as frequent oil changes first as opposed to directly tearing the engine down, and he tells me my air bag light is on, but I already knew those two things. He does not pressure me at all, I asked him a few more questions regarding this situation and he gladly answers my questions. HIGHLY recommend this shop and will go back because its cheap, fast and honest. read more

I was on my way home from work when I noticed my car was overheating. I had just gotten an oil change a little over a week ago and the place I got it at told me I needed a coolant flush. I figured this was likely the cause so I looked up my nearest Jiffy lube after pulling over to let my engine cool. I pulled up to the Jiffy Lube with my car smoking and long story short, they said they couldn't fix it and that I should check with the shop two doors down. That's exactly what I did, and I'm really happy I checked with them. That shop was Welltech. I went in, explained my problem, and David came out to take a look at it, knew exactly what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. I have tried a few other places but Welltech Auto has been the most affordable and dependable. Most importantly, the service is friendly and I am greeted by name. I feel good when I leave my car, and after I pick it up! My Nissan has had the alternator replaced. My Honda had a new o2 sensor, brakes, and front engine seal. Welltech worked with me when one of my cars was flooded and insurance processed my claim. Most recently I went for an oil change. Why bother going anywhere else? I will drive across town to bring my cars to Welltech Auto. It's worth it for the peace of mind. read more

I needed my brakes replaced and the Jiffy Lube next door recommended Welltech. The price was very fair, the estimate they gave me was exactly what I paid for. Don't get the impression that this is a super cheap place though. I think it's probably cheaper than most shops but it's still an auto shop. A regular oil change is about 25 dollars, which is pretty standard. What sets this place apart though is the owners/employees. They are VERY honest about everything and will never, at least in my experience, try to sell you more services that you don't need. I have been going here for a few years now for any service my car needs (if they provide it), and I always recommend this place to my friends. 4/5 only because I'm an asshole. read more

I've taken my vehicles to Welltech for years. To me, they do oustanding work. I have recommended them to at least 6 family members and friends, and every single one of them have been nothing but complimentary of the service they received at Welltech. Some of the services we have received have been clutch replacement, brake job, transmission replacement, and I've blown the engine in my car, and they replace it at a fair price and my car runs great. I know that you can't please 100% of the people, 100% of the time, but I think it's unfair to accuse them of Scamming people. That's questioning someone's character, and I can tell anyone that David and Tai are honest guys who do great work. I would recommend Welltech to anyone read more

HORRRRRIBLEEEEEEE!!! I guess they see me as a "lady in distress" and tried to take advantage of the situation. I went in because my check engine light came on, and it was close to work. So I took it there after work, for them to scan the problem. They said it was one of the cylinder not working properly. They examined the car and found the actual problem, and said I need to replace the ignition coil pack and spark plugs for $450 plus $400 labor, in total $850. I showed them a print-out of the ignition coil pack from Autozone, and the price is $100. I asked DAVID if this was the correct part, and he said he "can't tell me if it is or if it is not." Total BS. So I refused their service and paid the $35 for diagnosing my car. I bought the ignition coil with LIFETIME WARRANTY and spark plugs from Autozone for $125 total. My bro-in-law replaced the parts in my car in less than an hour. How dare they charge an INSANE $400 for labor? TOTAL RIP OFF! NEVER GO HERE! read more

I was recommended to Well Tech Auto by my nail lady. I went there when I was having problems with my 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. David gave me an excellent quote and had my car fixed within hours! I have been taking my Cavalier to Well Tech Auto for many years. I recently took it in because I noticed it was skipping when I pressed on the gas pedal. I thought the transmission was going out. David checked it and said it was a sensor (I think). He fixed it and now my car drives good. In fact the engine is so quite sometimes I don't think my car is on! I asked David how long my car will last, he said at least another two years. He was honest and told me don't put to much money into my car because the dash board is cracked, the paint is faded and the car old. He said it still runs good but just don't spend a lot of money on it. David does not try to sell you services your car does not need and he is honest when it comes to the life of your car.
