This usually my go to Deli when going on a road trip. Not anymore !!!! My turkey sandwich was served on stale what I am assuming 2 day old hero! what a disappointment! For how expensive these hero's are either be honest with your customers and let them choose if there is no fresh bread or have fresh bread. I work next to this place. I called and ordered from the menu. The menu I have, has specific prices listed. I ordered a grilled cheese. The menu says it's $4.99. I asked if they have a delivery charge, they said "not if you spend $15". So, I then ordered a dozen bagels, the menu said it was $13. I also asked for a tiny cream cheese. The phone clerk hung up as I was about to ask how much. I figured with tip, my order should be $20. When my delivery order arrived, my receipt said $33.10. They charged me $18 for a dozen bagels, $6.75 for my grilled cheese, $2.75 for a tiny cream cheese & $3 for delivery. I know the delivery person was not at fault, they were only the messenger. I gave her $40 & let her know how ripped off I felt. I called the business and the manager got on the phone. When I asked why they didn't tell me how much it was, he said that it was because I should've asked. When I asked why they said no delivery charge for $15 (or above) order, he said everyone gets a surcharge because gas is so expensive (Mind you, I work right next door!). Oh! & My sandwich arrived NOT grilled (not even warm!!). When I asked why the discrepancy in prices on the menu as to prices I was charged, he said my menu is two years old. When I said that they should have a practice of telling people their total when they complete the order, he said it's not his problem it's mine. I am dissatisfied on every level. I will never ever order from them again and I want everyone to know this information so that they don't make the same mistake I did. This place was pretty legit! I had a whole wheat everything bagel with light cream cheese on it and it was overall pretty tasty! The bagel was soft and crunchy on the outside and hit the spot. The line was pretty long, which says good things that people are willing to wait awhile! Why they didn't get 5-stars: My wife got the bacon scallion cream cheese, which should have been amazing, but she said it didn't taste like much, so that was disappointing. read more

I typically love this place for their bagels and egg sandwiches, but yesterday got a chicken cutlet sandwich and it was horrific. The chicken was definitely old. I could hardly bite into it, it was hard as a rock, and was gray in color. I thought maybe one piece of chicken was bad, but I opened the entire sandwich and every piece of chicken was like this. It was like eating hard cartilage the entire time. The chicken was hard like bone. This is unacceptable. Threw the sandwich in the garbage. Chicken should not look like this! read more

Another overdue review..... I've been coming here for many moons & there of course have been several staff changes. BUT...... The food never ceases to change. It's consistently good. Don't come late in a Sunday morning! Know you will be in a line wrapped around the store & outside the door because the bagels are killer! Always crunchy on the outside & soft & chewy in the inside. Whatever flavor or type you get is always good. The compound cream cheeses are on point. My favorites being Olive, Vegetable & Bacon Scallion but they have plenty more to choose from. This is my local bagel store we've been going to them for many many years. During rush hour you will have lines out the door and there's a reason why their bagels are big fluffy gooey and hot. This is actually an AMAZING bagel place. BUT do not order delivery or through Uber Eats. My experience with them when I order at the actual store versus when I order delivery is insane. Nearly every single time I order delivery my order comes incorrectly. I understand having food delivered is a luxury but if you can't do it right then why do it at all? Usually I order turkey and Swiss on a French toast bagel toasted with butter. I'll even specify NO EGGS so there's no confusion. 9 times out of 10 it will come with eggs. Today I ordered a Monte Cristo which comes on French toast, number 30 on their menu. Instead I got deli meat and shredded cheese on a bed of lettuce. Location: did Uber eats for the order. Food: tasted pretty bad for Long Island bagel. I was extremely disappointed because they messed up my order and I couldn't even go back and ask them to fix it. Our favorite local bagel shop conveniently located around the corner from our house. Bagels are always fresh and warm in the mornings as they are made on site. 5 stars for bagels and 4 stars for breakfast that is made on site. The lox and cream cheese bagels are good as are any iteration of a bagel sandwich with eggs. The pancakes and other breakfast offerings have been decent at times from really good to sometimes average. There are also a good variety of sandwiches for lunch. Definitely recommend at the very least a breakfast visit to try their bagels. read more
