I love getting my nails done here by Sungey but today I paid $13 for them to Boucher my eyebrows. Just bad, the room lighting is dark and the receptionist kept asking how long, how long? like I am not paying. The lady that did my eyebrows was sweet but cannot do eyebrows. I get my eyebrows done all the time but this time was the most painful and I spent additional money going to target to buy stuff to fix my eyebrows. I gave it four stars because the owner is super nice and gave me a store credit....this place is very nice and clean but wouldn't recommend getting your eyebrows done. Went in today for a mani/pedi and it was really great. The place is very clean and cute with a back pedicure room and great color options. Rosa and Irma were so friendly and took really great care of me. A little bit pricy, but I did see that they offer weekly deals and they do have a rewards membership. I will definitely be back! I've been coming to this nail salon for the last few months and I love everything about the experience. I think any review under 4 stars is frankly crazy! The staff is incredibly attentive and kind. They offer tea or water before you even sit down and take their time perfecting their work. I've had several different nail technicians and each one is better than the next. They offer a points system to anyone who wants to sign up for the program. This offers future discounts and it is an incentive to keep coming back. You can also bring booze to drink with friends! I was looking for a high quality and professional nail salon, and after reading the amazing reviews, I thought I found my go to place in Brooklyn! I can't speak to the quality of their work, since they refused to do my nails after I arrived to the salon, but one thing I can say is that they're not very respectful or professional. I made an appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure an hour before closing time and I asked if they would be able to see me. I was told they would only be able to do one service not both and only if I could make it over to the salon within 15 minutes. I arrived even earlier, within 10 minutes. I was told that because I had SNS they didn't have the equipment and time to remove the color and do the gel manicure. I was understanding since I hadn't told them I had SNS done prior to arrival. I asked them to just do my pedicure instead, since they had agreed on the phone to do either a gel manicure or gel pedicure. Again, they refused stating that it would be too late. I politely reminded them about the appointment I made, and how I took a cab to get from across town, instead of walking, to make the appointment and they said they wouldn't have time. To say the least, I will not be returning to this establishment. They weren't respectful of my time, and didn't seem eager to please new customers. This review is simply based on professionalism and not the quality of work done by the nail technicians. But this place is so good that I want to shout to the heavens and tell everyone because... it is SO hard to find a great place in NY to get your nails and toes done without forking over 100+ dollars. I've been here about 3+ times and had different technicians and I'm never disappointed. So Let's start off with the actual salon. BEAUTIFUL & CLEAN. The pedicure stations are separate from the nail stations which I like. It's tucked in the back and there is a nice screen that place videos. I saw a review that bashed them because of their music. The only thing I would say is that the administrative personnel can be better. My lady I booked with changed her hours and she didn't alert me. I love everything about this place the interior, the wide color selection and even meticulous nail techs. The interior is amazing. The pedicure section is towards the back and closed off so it makes it more relaxing. The manicure station is modern and unique. They even have a points system you can sign up for. I took to kids with me for manicures, and they were sweet with them. Now that they're all in bed and I can see my nails, this is one of the best manicures I've had. Really gentle, and the kids loved the sugar scrub. They did ask if they could eat it. read more

So thrilled this place is in my hood! The space is gorgeous and clean, the staff was sweet. They have no less than one million brand new bottles of Essie, Zoya and OPI, brightly lit and well organized (OCD, who?). I walked in around 7pm for a regular pedicure and tacked on a 10 minute back massage. Walked out exactly an hour later with sparkly new toes and better posture. Pan Pan was patient, detailed and gives a great massage! They don't have the massage/jets pedicure chairs, but I didn't miss being jostled around by electronics and the sinks they have can be properly sanitized, so I'll skip the jets. The tools are individually packaged and come from the autoclave. Hot towels are a great touch! They were playing music videos in the pedicure area, what a nice way to zone out. This place is very nice welcome to the area. I did a gel manicure with a neutral coat for my upcoming wedding. Alina did my nails, and I found her to be about the details. I told her to just make them look nice, and she did. What I didn't like and could get uncomfortable is the gossipy nature of the workers. You can tell if they're whispering about you or someone else. The best nail place in the neighborhood. Love the convenience of making appointments online, cleanliness, atmosphere. However, being all that it gets pretty packed during peak times and thus service can be a bit of a hit or miss. During my last visit (late afternoon on a weekend), I had to wait for 20 min even though I had an appointment, the tech cut my toe (besides that little incident the pedicure came out great and will last for weeks on end, as always, even though not gel) and manicure came out with bubbles and started chipping next day. And I overheard my tech telling her colleague how she was tired and was falling asleep while performing the services so I felt bad - truly hope that the owners are treating and compensating their techs properly and it was a one-off situation. read more

This place would get no stars if I could. Been there a few times. Nothing outstanding for the price but reason for this review was the service my husband an I received yesterday. Went in for two pedicures. I a regular my husband one for calis remover. One woman started to do my feet and when time to complete she just got up, and another woman sat down to complete while she went to go tend to another woman. (White) no "excuse me miss, this is" no words. Totally rude especially as it was not crazy busy. My polish job is less than par. When I paid I didn't even want to bother to tip. The worst of it all however is that when we got home and my husband got in the shower his feet were burning from the water. He said it felt like there were cuts. You can see the results of what felt like the burning attached. They cut his feet! And today he can hardly walk. It's sad the way business treat one kind of person vs another assuming they may get tipped better. The girl who started me, not a word. When she sat down with the white woman it was how are you's is the water fine. I had to ask her to make mine warmer. Total bull crap! I want all of my money back. My biggest issue with this salon is their inconsistency! There are manicurists that take their time while others rush to tend to the next customer. Also, I notice that their service varies depending on the customer. I believe everyone should be treated fairly i.e. asking every customer if they would like water or tea. read more

Moving to prospect/Lefferts I've been looking everywhere for a salon that has that upscale soho feel. I decided to stop by on an early afternoon Saturday for a pedicure. No wait! I was walked towards the back where the pedicure stations are. So comfortable and spacious. I got the milk& honey pedicure. My technician was Blanca and she was amazing at the massage and application of the color. Everyone was extremely accommodating. I have been going to this nail salon for a little over six months now and if I get the right nail technician then it can be a wonderful experience. The place is always very clean and they often have enjoyable soft pop music playing. They offer tea or citrus water and are very polite. My first visit to the salon in January was great. I went again last week on February 16 and I was shocked by the difference in service and the end result. First of all the Tech was slightly inexperienced. I paid for an additional service, callus remover along with the green tea pedicure. She rinsed my feet off and there was still the heavy film of product on my heels. I told her there is still callus remover on my feet. She then said no it's ok. So I proceeded to take the excess callus remover product off my feet with my nails! I really couldn't believe she left so much product on my feet. After a few minutes, there was still dead skin and callus remover on my feet, so I asked her for the scrub file and proceeded to take care of things on my own. Then.... when it was time to polish my nails, the color was blotchy and uneven due to the way she was applying the polish. In the mist of that, I'm seeing all other issues like dead skin around my nail bed and uneven cuticles. She had to remove the polish and clean the nail bed all over again. By this time, the lady upfront came and asked me if I still wanted a manicure because the pedicure was taking so long to complete. Th manicure was subpar. After finishing my manicure, the tech tells me have a good evening. Then a few minutes later, she asked me if I wanted a back massage, which is customary with the manicure... like the first time I went. She came behind me and spent approximately 40 seconds on my back massage, tapped me on the shoulder and said good night. On top of it all, I had to go get my boots from by the corner and I guess the lady upfront felt sorry for me and started helping me put on my boots. I happened to feel my heels and they were hard as a rock, not smooth, not soft. I asked her why does my feet feel like that? She told me to put Vaseline on my feet when I go to bed. So I spent 89 dollars, tip included to leave the shop with rough course, calluses feet? Like I love treating myself to mani pedis but after two days, my feet and hands look worst than when I came in the shop. I wish I had the service of the first technician, or maybe perhaps I should just slab on some Vaseline and keep the other 85 dollars in my wallet... So....I haven't had my nails done in almost 2 months because I was just completely over the regular Chinese nail salons. Tired of them robbing you and giving you half ass service. I've looked and looked for a nail salon that gives you the salon experience. I came across Wellzen while driving down Flatbush one rainy day. I decided to walk in and give it a try. Well ladies and gents.... it's an experience you will never forget. From the moment you open the door, you are greeted with a warm welcome. After you discuss your service you would like , you are walked to your service area and seated. They offer you hot tea or water too :-). All of the technicians are so kind and patient and actually give you what you are paying for. There's no "I do later" no "you pay now" arguments. They completely take their time and provide the best. There was a lady sitting next to me that finished her whole mani--- and didn't like how her nails dried-- the owner said would you like to pick another color and we will redo it for you. I have never seen anything like it in Brooklyn. I encourage you all to try it. Of course it's a few bucks more than you'd normally spend but aren't you worth it? TRY IT!!!! read more

Got dip powder mani. My session started 30 min after my appointment. I asked for round, but my nails are nearly square. My cuticles were filed so harshly I started bleeding my fingers stung and feel raw. When complete, they were dry, ashy, flaky. The polish texture is unsmooth & bumpy. It was significantly more expensive ($60) than excellent salons in Manhattan & Hoboken ($45). On top of all that, I was given the wrong color (I only noticed when it was too late. I thought she was using a base powder first. Even though I singled out a swatch and said it's what I wanted, she somehow mistook that I wanted the current nail color I had on, which they don't even have as their color range is limited. I was willing to let it slide assuming the outcome would be nice, but it's not). It's too bad because the place and the people seem nice, but I'll need to go elsewhere. read more

I went out of my way to try this salon because of the reviews I read and the fact that it seemed clean - I will 100% give them that. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a salon in the area that's up to my personal standards of cleanliness but Wellzen met the criteria. Besides that, I think my pedicure was probably one of the worst I ever had... lackluster, I didn't feel relaxed at all really, and the actual paint job is just... bad. Regular, no frills pedicures are $28 dollars here and my total without tip was basically $30 so I was expecting some top notch service. My tech cleaned my toes and put the clippings back into the water, my feet barely had time to soak in the lukewarm unsoapy water, and everything else just felt rushed even though no one was there. I also see another person mentioned their foot feels dry now - same! Like the heels of my feet are jagged and rough now when they weren't before. My foot has never ever felt like this. When I checked out the envelope for tips was put right next to my receipt and of course I tipped but I honestly don't feel it was deserved with the way my feet look/feel now. I won't be back so the search for another salon continues. read more
