This Wendy's was well run, but that is no longer the case. They no longer have the first window open, with a competent person taking orders, payment, and giving you a receipt. Ordering is painful - constantly interrupted, does not appear on the screen, "meal or a sandwich ?" repeated, despite making it perfectly clear. No receipt most of the time, even if you ask for it. So I'm typically not a fast food person, but here and there I will go to Wendy's because I I'm a rush and I i also like their baked potatoes. Also it should. Ok, so I ordered a $6.00 biggie bag, as listed on the drive-thru menu. The screen kept showing I was being charged $7.00. When I questioned it I was told they haven't updated the menu but that's the new price. I explained that according to law they have to sell it for the price stated. The server said he couldn't adjust the computer, I asked for the manager he told me HE was the manager!!I realize most will say it's just a dollar, but those dollars add up. I'm sure a big corp. like Wendy's can better afford a dollar here and a dollar there than me. WATCH WHAT YOU're BEING CHARGED against what the posted price is. Fast, fresh, hot and delicious. Only today received incorrect item. Ordered spicy chicken fingers, and instead received spicy BBQ chicken sandwich. Although the order was incorrect and we did not want to go back and bring it to staffs attention, it ended up being delicious! Now let's keep in mind this is fast food, so I'm not expecting much. I eat at drive through places perhaps three times a year, and I was on my way to McDonalds when I remembered their nasty food and socially offensive advertising. I figured I'd try Wendy's instead. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness and attractiveness of the Barnum Island Shopping Center. Much like the Long Beach Shopping Center was before Democrats took over the town, ran the local businesses out and shipped in welfare votes who lay in the parking lot drinking bum wine. I ordered a burger, fires and soda. The service at the drive-through was quick, but the clerk could not be understood. She barked something at me in some type of Ebonics which I couldn't understand. After asking four times for her to repeat herself, I simply explained I did not understand, and she shrugged. No problem. We understood each other and exchanged smiles. Fast food = working kids, and she was doing her best. The burger was surprisingly good. A bit salty but miles better than the unfrozen, manufactured and jelled gruel served at McDonalds. It was real meat, as the pebbles of fat confirmed. Actually not bad, but no match in any way to a real luncheonette burger. The fries were acceptable even if they came out of a frozen bag. I had a sip of the Coke - high fructose corn syrup garbage - and dumped it out the window. People drink this stuff? I gotta check that I didn't get it on the car paint. No wonder people get diabetes. Anyway, the area was attractive, well lit and free of Long Beach filth, vagrants and Section 8 populations. A+ for a good landlord and good local politicians. The food was surprisingly good, and the service was alright. I won't be back because I make an effort to avoid flaked-and-formed-beef-with-binders-and-extenders that's prepared in some Texas warehouse. But it was worth a try, I really wasn't disappointed, and enjoyed the experience. read more

I strongly believe most of the people who work at this shitty place only have 2 brain cells combined. It's FAST FOOD right? So you expect things to be simple and easy. Wrong so so terribly wrong. Me and my friend ordered off of Grubhub last night. We got the family deal that came with 2 spicy chicken sandwiches, 2 JBC's and 4 fries. We added applewood bacon, bourbon sauce, pepper jack cheese and a lot of other things to ALL of the sandwiches. Keep in mind you have to pay EXTRA for all the the added condiments, and it's all on Grubhub so everything is specifically written out for the store. In total we ended up paying an extra $15 alone just on the extras. our food came and these assholes had the AUDACITY to only give us 4 basic ass JBC's! No Spicy chicken sandwiches, not even the extra bacon and good stuff we PAID for!!! I called the store and some dumb ass named Travis who was apparently the manager tried to tell me that they had made my order right and I must have just gotten the wrong bag. YET my name was on the bag and everything was listed out on the receipt. I ended up getting a full refund thank god but I've never felt more played in my life. Hi All,Avoid this location! No indoor dining as of yet...unlike so many of the other fast food places in the same locale & no access to restrooms... however they do allow you to order inside.(Pointless you think?) Now in addition to this...They gave me less than I ordered...No bacon on 2 sandwiches.Wrong sauces for 2 different orders of nuggets & I honestly would of gotten quicker service if I went to their driver thru.Good bye Wendys! read more

actually minus 5 stars. your people need training you don't put cups of hot coffee in a bag with the breakfast sandwich. what happens when you do half the coffee spills and gets the sandwiches soggy as they are floating in the coffee. thankfully the coffee was lukewarm as were the sandwiches. and in a plastic bag as the paper bag had disintegrated. read more

UPDATE: The staff has changed/been spoken too. They are now always polite. This Wendy's is conveniently placed where I work. I go here pretty often for lunch or dinner and the food is always pretty good. My only complaint is the staff. Every time I walk up to the counter, it's never "Hey, how can I help you?" It's "Stay or Go?" With a side of attitude. I work retail/customer service for a living and I just don't think that's how you greet a paying customer. 3 stars because this has happened every time I'm in there. read more

Came here late to get a snack with my boyfriend. The clerk was pretty dismissive, and my order was missing entirely. When we pointed out it was wrong he didn't offer to help. We actually were going to drive through the driveway AGAIN just to reorder the missing items but decided just to leave instead. My boyfriends order was lukewarm. There was no other cars so it wouldn't have held anyone up if he filled our missing order quick, but the clerk clearly didn't care lol read more

Never in my life have I encountered a fast-food restaurant that specializes in messing up extremely simple orders. Whether it's my order via doordash or drive-thru, an item is missing at least 50% of the time I purchase food from this establishment. I never order more than $30 worth of food, and there is almost ALWAYS an issue. The staff is very rude and stubborn. On one occasion the employees actually had the audacity to tell me that I was lying about not receiving SIX chicken nuggets. I've never taken the time out of my day to write a restaurant review, let alone about a fast-food chain on yelp. That's how disgustingly tired I am of this Island Park Wendy's location and I'm just really hoping that someone of a higher authority at that location makes some kind of changes soon. I purchased a chicken, bacon and ranch salad there last week. When I got home with it I realized it had no chicken. When I went back today I notified the girl at the drive thru. She then spoke with the manager who sent her over with a coupon that looked like it came out of the newspaper. It had buy one get one free coupons on it for various items. So I ask to speak to the manager and ask him why he would give each me a coupon that you find in the flyers. He let me know that they are actually given out in the store. read more

My family & I use to come here to eat every Friday but we stopped coming because of the unfriendly customer service here! I figured it was time to stop spending our money here when our last experience was just unpleasant & honestly I wasn't going to continue tolerating this unfriendly customer service here anymore. I walk in to order food for my family & I & the cashier was talking to her co-worker with a smile on her face, but as soon as she saw me she made a nasty face & didn't say anything! No "Hi" or "how may I help you?" She did not ask me if I wanted the meals to be small, medium or large. She did not ask what drink I wanted with the kids meal. Even when my order was done she did not even tell me how much the total cost was. I had to literally say "uhmm... I'm ready to pay, but what's my total?" After I payed my $25 I looked at my receipt & saw that all my meals were small. I decided to play dumb & asked the cashier if the meals automatically came with small fries/small drinks & of course she responded "No, you can choose from small, medium or large" Well, why don't you tell the customers that when they order!!?? This Wendy's either needs to hire new qualified people or re-train the employees because it's a shame when a business has potential but lacks customer service. I understand the workers are miserable working minimum wage, but don't take it out on the customers!!! read more

Been here twice since it opened recently, and both times my order was wrong using the drive thru. Not just a little wrong, but completely wrong, as in I ordered a double with just cheese and got a single with everything. Next time, I ordered a double with cheese, and got chicken. Both times, they repeated my order first when I paid, and at the next window when I picked up but obviously nobody is checking what is actually in the bag. That included me, I'm sorry to admit. This Wendy's has two lanes to order at the drive thru, but it merges into one to pay and pick up, and this setup is an error waiting to happen if the employees aren't paying attention and, well, see my statement above that obviously, nobody is checking what's in the bag when you pick up your order. I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 because maybe they're just working out the kinks since they just opened. The worst thing though, which is not Wendy's fault, is the parking lot here. It's an absolute disaster, especially getting out of you're heading to Long Beach. read more
