Recently I dropped by to order a meal through the drive through at the Navajo Rd. branch in La Mesa, Ca. For three straight days they managed to screw up my order with the wrong items I ordered. One time it was a particular order with no meat in the order. Unreal. I could see one time as a simple mistake, but not three days in a row. Avoid this place at all cost. They don't do Apple Pay and the boss at this location won't let the employees punch in a customers debit/credit card into the machine. What if the strip on my card won't work? So if you're having a rough day and you lost your wallet. Know that this place only takes cash or actual working debit/credit cards. I come here frequently because it's close by and, obviously, Wendy's makes awesome burgers. However, I rarely allow myself to be angered which means I'm going to walk in there and take a dump on the floor and throw it at the boss. If you've seen the YouTube video?!?! So disappointed. The service is just getting aweful here. Drive thru orders of mine are constantly getting screwed up. My last trip, I ordered 3 four for $4 meals & a kids meal. Why do I go through all the trouble of getting the sauces for the nuggets ordered correctly only to get home and find ABSOLUTELY NO SAUCES in any of the bags. To top it off .... I went through the drive through tonight at the Wendy's at 8637 Navajo Rd, 92119 at Lake Murray Blvd. It was about 8:45pm. While waiting at the pick up window I watched the young lady with pinkish hair violating the health code. She did not have gloves on and was scooping ice up with the drink cups, instead of using the ice scoop. I was at the window for approx. 4 minutes and during that time she entered orders on the touch screen and bagged something up then scooped up the ice. I went into this Wendy's to order some food and I'm very disappointed. I was literally the only person inside and I had to wait 3 minutes! No exaggeration! For someone to take my order. The whole staff just looked at me and after 1 minute they kept telling me someone will be with me. The guy I had to wait for was taking food out to a customer so it's justified on his part. We recently moved out of the area but we used to go to this Wendy's pretty often. If Matt wasn't working that day, there were times we would turn around and walk out the door. This man keeps his eyes on every aspect of the restaurant and makes sure his coworkers have everything they need to keep the customer satisfied, he's never standing still, he's always working... yet, he still finds a way to make good conversation with his patrons (which is hard to do with a mask on). This guy was always in a great mood and super friendly. We've had not so great experiences at this Wendy's when Matt WASN'T there, but whenever Matt was there our orders were always correct and we were taken care of quickly. I am totally grossed out! So yesterday I did a mobile order for Wendy's and normally the food is good. We I ordered my granddaughters their nuggets and my husband and I the Apple Pecan Salad. Got home took my husband his salad as he was sitting at his desk working from home. He opened the top off the bowl and there was a creepy green bug roaming around inside the bowl. So I decided to take it back and show the young lady working the counter. She was not surprised by it and said oh those are the bugs that are in our lettuce. What??? In their lettuce? She asked if I wanted her to make another one. No!! I asked her, so is there going to be any bugs in the salad I have at home and she said that it was a possibility. Wow wow wow. I went in at 6:38 for breakfast for myself, wife, son and 9 year old daughter. The aggressive lady on the other side of the intercom taking my order was extremely unprofessional and extremely aggressive. I wasn't able to get a word in to complete my order. I started my order and she says " is that it?" Well no. Let me finish. I continued to order and again talking over me louder and aggressive is continuing. Her favorite word was yea and what else!!!! I gave her my card to pay and she just slams the window and returns 86 seconds later. I knew this because I had a song playing. I asked for ketchup and I just turned her world upside down. I know nothing will be done about this. Which sucks because Wendy's is our favorite face food establishment. And this is the closest store to us. Nothing will be done because of 2 reasons. 1. They don't give a crap because they just don't care anymore. That's not only just for Wendy's, it's customer service in general. And 2, millennials are afraid of conflict and confrontation. They can't do anything with out asking their parents and they will point the blame somewhere else making it an ethic thing, a racial thing or any other thing than can make happen while they turn their backs and run away. This is exactly how this manager is because I have dealt with this store for a reasoning of matters like this in the past. Here is the worst thing of all. Unfortunately I made the mistake going there for the first time in 24 years to use the Free chicken sandwich coupon with any purchase. (Nothing is free in life) I ordered what I thought was a $1.50 cheese burger to quantify for the Free ...chicken sandwich but the total was $5.39 ..ok stupid me for believing in their con job add. Bit into the chicken sandwich, although it was thick piece of some sort of breast meat/styrofoam it ain't Chick-fil-A or even Popeye's, reminds me of what would happen if you cooked a 37 year old chicken. This sandwich was miles ahead of the $5.39 road kill burger. My wife bit into it and spit it out.. mayonnaise on a burger, soggy bun from the tomato, must have been sitting in the burger bin for an hr., geeze at least give a warning label on the wrapper she's been belching up the 1 bite forover 5 hrs.. like I said upside is we aren't dead.....yet. The Dave's Double was good and the frosty is always good, but the fries were exactly what there ads say they aren't. Hot and crispy they weren't in fact they were limp and tough. Tried reheating but there was no hope for them. They had been cooked and had sat even though they were busy enough to give every order fresh and hot fries. Wendy's to me is the best fast food restaurant for burgers (I don't quite consider The Habit fast food) but aside from the food here itself, this is the worst Wendy's that I have ever been to! I've been here several times (I'm fat) and regardless of the day or time, the drive thru is slow as hell and I may be the only person there! I'm not sure if they are understaffed or what. They always say sorry to me because they know how slow the service is. They also do not give you any sauces, straws, or utensils unless you ask (nothing is included anymore!). I went here last earlier this evening and the manager Sergio was on duty and the service was still slow as hell. If it's that bad when the manager is on duty, no wonder it was bad all the other times as well. To top it off the employees will not give you receipts unless you ask, and I've had different prices a few times for the identical order. In addition, I waited so long the last time that my fucking frosty melted =( Honestly, Wendy's regardless of location is still A+++ food so I will probably still come here since it's the closest one to me. I attempted to order chicken nuggets. I ordered regular size and the order taker charged for a medium instead. I asked why and he said that medium is regular. I said that regular is whatever the advertised price is on the menu. He proceeded to argue with me over this rather than just fix it because he clearly NEEDED to be right. I got tired of arguing so I said I was going to go somewhere else and he said "good." I pulled up to the window and asked for the supervisor. It turns out he was the supervisor. He continued to be rude and argue with me and called me "stupid" for thinking "regular" didn't mean medium. He closed the window on me so I called corporate but you were closed. Another employee came over to help and she was actually trying to help. I told her I wasn't leaving until I received an apology. This is true WORST Wendy's I have ever been to.... and I love Wendy's. I went here tonight through the drive thru. There were only 2 cars in front of me and it took nearly 15 minutes for me to order. When I pulled up to order I was told to hold on for a minute, when the man came back to get my order he seemed put out. I ordered my food, paid, and pulled half way out of the drive thru to check my order. When I realized it was wrong, I decided to go into the restaurant rather than sit in the drive thru again. The sand which I had just ordered was cold and the bun was hard. When I walked in the man who asked me how he could help turned out to be the man I ordered with. When I told him my sandwich was cold he told me it wasn't and I would have to wait an addition 5 minutes for a new sandwich. He was very rude and didn't seem to care that there was a problem. When I asked for a manager he turned out to be the manager. While I waited for a new sandwich another patron came up to the line with a problem as well. No bone seemed to be apologetic at all. I've never reviewed a fast food chain restaurant, but there's a first time for everything. This wendy's always has fast friendly service, but what prompted this review is the breakfast. I had the chicken maple bacon crescent. I think it's the best breakfast I've ever gotten from a drive thru! The breakfast fries are much better than the regular fries too. Tonight's service was VERY POOR!!!! parked me for 15 minutes Bc they screwed up my order by making all of our nuggets spicy instead of regular like ordered. Then I get home to find out they shorted me on our four orders of 6 nuggets and gave us 5 a piece. Then didn't even give us our 5th 6 piece nugget. Didn't give us sour cream for the potatoe. No cheese on the chili even though we ordered it with cheese. I call to tell the manager and he says " ok you can come back through and we will fix the order". I go all the way back. They give me two 6 piece nuggets for screwing my whole order. I remind him again about the potato and chili. I said at this point I dont want another potatoe or chili. Can we just get frostys in replace of those and for driving all the way back. Mind you they are wayyyy cheaper than replacing the other food. Manager says he can't do that! I again reiterate my issues with my whole order, sitting me for 15-20 minutes and having to come all the way back. So he says fine! Ends up giving us the tiny baby ones that are like $.49.
