    Wepa bites pork

Tried Wepa Café for the first time and loved it! It was my first time having this type of food and everything we ordered was very good. We got the Wepa Bites, camarones, and pastalillos. The camarones were cooked perfectly, and the pork filling in the pastalillos was super flavorful. They've also got a really nice patio -- perfect for hanging out and enjoying the food. Can't wait to go back!

Stumbled across this gem via google as my BFF is Puerto Rican and we were very close by at a local watering hole. Restaurant is very nice being the area it is in & wait staff and owner were very courteous, friendly, and efficient. As for the food, I ordered a vegetarian plate that consisted of yuca frita, sweet plantains, and rice and stewed beans. I chose the garlic base rather than the tomato base and it was wonderful. My friend ordered the carne frita plate and the cubed beef was marinated and cooked well and very flavorful. Entrees are very reasonable and the wine was good but almost as costly as the entrees LOL. Definitely a must try!

This is the Little Peace of Heaven on earth you've always been looking for.. Haha! Well, at least in Idaho.. We went here for lunch on Wednesday, April 6, for dinner.. wow!! What an amazing meal we had, from the fried tostonas (bananas) appetizers, to the main meals, to the Flan and cafe con leche!! Just so delicious and great service. We met the owner, Art, he explained the menu to us and recommended some dishes. We had such a great meal that we ordered food to go and ate them later for dinner and this morning for breakfast. So we literally ate food from Wepa for 24hrs.. LOL If your are looking for authentic Puerto Rican food or you just want to try something different but delicious, it's Wepa Cafe!! They will not disappoint and do everything to make you time there special. Please, ask for Art, and tell him Sergio recommended Wepa.. stay safe and keep on smiling Boise..

We had the Pernil, Tostones, Bacalaitos, Pastelillos, Arroz con gandules, and Malta drink. Where do I begin... The only thing I will recommend is the tostones and pastelillo w picadillo, and the malta. Service was great, and the place looks very nice. Gente please , please... make the Pernil tender, and add more seasoning, and where is the garlic?? The Arroz con gandules.... por favor... help me. I am not trying to be mean. I am married to a puerto rican... and believe me when I tell you, they need to add the seasonings. WHERE IS THE SOFRITO SMELL and TASTE ???!!!! Keep it real !!!! Chacho Por Favol !!!!

A friend of mine recommended this restaurant, so I decided to host a Meetup group here. Let me say this is the best restaurant I've been to in town. I had the steak, beans, rice, plantains, and avocado and tomato salad. The service was top notch and very friendly staff. I will definitely return.

It was our first time to come into Wepa. The food took me back to my childhood . The ambience was just a little loud as they have high ceilings and concrete floors. Great for family and group setting I'm not sure about romantic dinner. We ordered the Carne Frita ( fried Meat ) It came with rice and beans and fried plantains. Our waitress sheell was very friendly and attentive. The Mofongo was cold, They took it back and corrected that immediately with a new one. If you have not, tried Dominican, Puerto Rican or Cuban food great place to go.

Wonderful Service, great gluten free and dairy free options. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer. Food so authentic. Feels like a home cooked meal. Ambience is lovely, feels like you are in a vacation. Location easy to find, street free parking and reservations are suggested but not a must. Been here twice and never too full at 6pm mark. Love it

Great service very fast and attentive, we sat on the patio in the shade facing the side street with little traffic, great location. The food was delicious we had the Arroz con pollo and the ceviche with a side of the garlic sauce. Absolutely the best Cafe con leche I've ever had!

¡RIQUÍSIMO! I came here in a blinding, cold blizzard storm and found exactly what I needed to warm my empty belly. I got the churrasco which was a 11oz marinated steak with yuca and garlic sauce. Let me tell you, when I'm scrapping my plate to get the last juices with the very last rice kernels, you know you're dealing with some good food.

Owner/Operator Travis graciously accommodated my request to put together a plate that had a little bit of everything on it. I got two large boxes of food for $32.33 that included the following: Jerk Chicken Breast Jerk Shrimp Oxtail and Butter Beans Coconut Curry Chicken Coconut Curry Shrimp Beef Pattie Cucumber Salad Rice & Peas The Jerk Chicken and Shrimp comes with a jerk sauce and a habanero sauce. I have had Jamaican style oxtail once before. Of all the meats, the oxtail was my favorite. The only downside with oxtail in general is that the meat to bone ratio is low. The meat was caramelized, tender and very flavorful. Of the sides, the cucumber salad was my favorite. This cucumber salad was different than any I've had before. It had a slightly sweet flavor. I could happily eat a large bowl of it. The Beef Pattie was my least favorite. Though it was described as spicy, it didn't seem spicy at all to me. It seemed mildly seasoned and nondescript. Like and follow Ya Mon Jamaican Jerk Grill's FB page to track when it's open, as well as location and hours.

I ordered Bandeja Paisa, which comes with carne asada, red beans, chorizo, pork belly, egg, sweet plantains, and a small corn cake. It was a flavor ride in each bite. My wife ordered the carne asada, which was flavorful and well-seasoned. It came with a chimichurri sauce that made the dish come alive. Everybody raves about the authenticity and flavor of the food. Empanadas, tamales, and fried plantains stand out in particular. People also favored guava juice and unique drinks such as tamarillo and maracuya juices. Portions are large; platters can be shared. The place is warm, well-organized, and inviting, which makes me feel at home. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, providing a great dining experience. I ordered the meat bowl with shredded jerk chicken, beans and rice and like this little salad thing on the side which was quite enjoyable! The BEST part of it though was the double fried plantain! WOW ! Extremely good and I was not expecting that! I usually don't finish all my food when I go out but I ate my whole meat bowl that day! My wife ordered the loaded fry plate thing and it had all sorts of meat on it fry sauce salsa .... OMG .... Salsa FIRE!!! So when my wife didn't eat all of her food I took it upon myself to finish hers when we got back to the house for her! I couldn't let it go to waste! Now don't think I'm just a pig! The food was really that good! I used to live in Florida and have had some authentic Cuban and Caribbean food being so close in Tampa bay and Ybor city so to tell you that to find something like this in Boise area quite surprising! Would recommend this place to anyone!

***This is a food trailer.*** I was very disappointed with my visit to A3 last summer. I had talked…read moreto several people about the trailer. Some said it was spectacular, however others did warn me to tread lightly, whatever that means. It was Saturday so the line was long. I waited about 10 minutes before I was able to place my order. The next part was ridiculous. I waited more than 20 minutes for my food. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, it was a nice August day and there were lots of people. I was content until I noticed others who had placed their orders before mine get their food. I'm talking big orders. All I got was a freaking salad. How hard is that to put together... Anyway, I forgot the name of this dish but I got some kind of plantain salad. I love plantains, but this was disastrous. After waiting 20 minutes for a salad, I was so disappointed to find it was merely a couple over-fried plantains with a handful of lettuce and a few pieces of dried shredded pork, drizzled with sauce and a tiny ass spoonful of salsa. I'm not kidding, look at the picture! There was hardly any flavor. The worst part?! This depressing salad cost me nearly $8.00! Again, $8.00 for a 15 strips of lettuce. What a joke. I was so sad this turned out to be my experience. I was so disappointed I can't convince myself to give them a second chance, and I am a huge believer in second chances when it comes to food establishments. I guess some experiences are so bad, you can't waste time on being disappointed again when you KNOW there are bomb ass food trailers out there.
