Just had Desi from We're There Pet Care come to my home to trim the nails of my Myrtle and Hazel, which I had been trying to do unsuccessfully for some time. I couldn't be happier with the result! Desi is a very nice and calm person and quickly trimmed their nails while I held them. They did get stressed out by me putting them in their carriers before she arrived, but that was way less stress than taking them somewhere would have been! Hazel is a little annoyed with me, but Myrtle is already her usual friendly self and walking around like nothing happened. I highly recommend Desi and her business. Check them out! read more

They have consistently exceeded my expectations over many years and with many pets they are conscientious, professional, and really do care about the pets. They do far more than just feed and clean up, they take the time to play and visit with the pet . I particularly love the fact that they send an email after each visit detailing what they did and how the pet is doing. Absolutely love Desi and her team! Desi is kind, reliable, thorough, prompt, responsive, flexible, and caring. I first came to Desi via a coworker recommendation who also uses We're There Pet Care. I was sick of the apps that say they're sending someone but then have so many hiccups. Desi came to meet our dog and was very thorough in making sure she and the assigned walker understood our dog's needs (e.g., she can be leash reactive and not good with other dogs, so they knew to be cautious). I ALWAYS heard promptly from the dog walker, which included a cute photo and report card. Desi was flexible when I needed to change dates and very quick to respond if I had any questions. Our family used the medical care services for our German Shepard who has kidney disease and needed daily IV SQ water infusion. Desi the owner personally assisted us and our baby boy in this daily treatment. Desi literally came to our house every day for months. During that time we (our dog, too) considered her part of the family. They were prompt and thorough during our initial meeting and even offered to check my mail and water my plants. I cannot say enough good things about Desi and her team of walkers at We're There Pet Care. We adopted a rescue dog and Desi showed up personally at our home within 24 hours to meet us and her. Desi is careful about her staff and our dog Dot often has the same walker. Dot is now excited to see them. We receive a report with photo of the day by email as soon as the walk is completed. They have even contacted me on a day when the walker was concerned about her behavior and have helped me out with packages a few times. As a bonus, Desi has been so flexible with me changing our schedule as our kids' activities and school schedule shift constantly. This group truly cares about pets. I literally cannot say enough good things about Desi and Serena. My puppy is 11 weeks old and has been doing two walks a day with them since I got her. She is having severe separation anxiety and they are wonderful. I was lucky enough to be here when Desi showed up one day and my dog was overjoyed to see her. Penny absolutely loves them both. Every day I get two emails with the good, the bad and the gross. I feel terrible about the accidents but they are so reassuring that everything will be just fine and that she is a puppy. They are patient and kind. The best part about the emails is they are always upbeat, positive and include the cutest pictures of my pup. I can't imagine not having them in my life. These guys are GREAT! I have 2 dogs (one quite old with special needs) where WTPC has been walking my "children" for over 12 years. I am confident that any of the walkers that service our pouches needs give excellent service. They leave a nice status report on the dogs "business", refill water bowls, clean them up during bad weather and so much more. My fiance and I needed to go back to California for 4 weeks during the month of December for the holidays. We have two beautiful and wild kittens who couldn't come with us due to extraneous circumstances. [Believe me, it broke my heart to leave them :(] So the search began for a pet-sitting service that didn't break the bank..[we're both poor graduate students!] We're There Pet Care actually had the availability to book us for that long! WOW! And for the added kitten, it was only a small added fee per day. They took such great care of our two boys that I never had to worry about a thing! I called to check on them once or twice and was told how great they were and how much everyone loved hanging out with them! Upon our return, we found a written note for everyday we were gone and was able to read up on their adventures! I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy pet care. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars was that they only accept checks and cash, and nowadays most people use credit/debit cards. So that was a small inconvenience when I went to pay the bill. There used to be the nicest man there that answered the phones & scheduled the appointments. Since he's left, you're forced to deal with Desi. I've used We're There Pet Care several times, & while my experience has been that they are responsible & show up when they say they will, dealing with Desi's moody personality is enough to make one never want to call again. You never know if you are going to get her on a good day or one of her abrasive & rude days. More often than not, dealing with Desi is downright awful. read more

I called them to take care of my cats over Thanksgiving and they were quite rude with their response. I have a cat that needs a pill 2 times daily and when I told the girl that called me back this she was extremely rude. She told me they only work from 10 am to 2pm on Thanksgiving day and no one would be able to give my animal a pill in the evening. When I asked if she had any suggestions she said look on line and was happy to brush me off. Not happy at all with the treatment. I know they are owned by Family Pet and I love them so I am a bit shocked that they were so rude and unwilling to help. I understand it's a holiday but they are in the business of pet care and that is a 24 hour job. This is the 2nd time I got a bad feeling about the girl that runs the place since I almost used them the last time I went out of town. Now I have to figure out how to get my keys back from them since I will never use them EVER. Now I understand why there are not that many reviews since there is not that much nice to say. read more

Love We're There! I stumbled upon them when I moved to the city, almost 5 years ago now, and have been using them since, despite now having moved twice. They take great care of both of my cats (even though one can be somewhat unruly) and send detailed emails after each visit. I traveled out of the country twice in the last six months, each time for 2+ weeks at a time, and never had to worry that my cats were being well taken care of. A neighbor just asked about my dog walker so I thought I should take a minute to also write a review of We're There Pet Care. We have been extremely happy with the service provided by WTPC. I love that there's a "team" of walkers available so you don't ever have to worry about a walker emergency and scrambling to find someone to fill in. Desi handles all that for you. I also like the accountability their "pupdate" software provides. I know each day the walker is there during the time he's supposed to be there. Family Pet is my dog's vet clinic and there have even been times when they've been able to facilitate medication pick-up/drop off (I think there was a small fee for it but it was well worth it considering I don't own a car). I travel regularly for work, and WTPC has been taking care of my 2 cats for over a year and half. While decent dog walkers/sitters are abundant in Chicago, not everyone is good with cats, but WTPC is AWESOME! They have gone above and beyond when one of my cats has been sick to try to help. They don't hesitate to contact you if there are issues or concerns, but otherwise you are confident that your fur-babies are in good hands, and come home to wonderful summaries about each visit. WTPC is the BEST. With all the dog walking companies out there, it is hard to know who to chose but WTPC has been around for over 20yrs - that says a lot about the quality of their business. Everyone from the management to the actual dog walkers are great - they are extremely accessible by phone and/or email. It is easy to request/cancel services on their online portal. I wouldn't trust my puppy's care to anyone else. In addition to my puppy, I have a dog aggressive dog (who I opt not to have anyone else walk for my own peace of mind) - WTPC took the time to get to know her so that she can be out and about in the house when they come over - the fact that she trusts them in her home is a true testament to how patient and kind they are to dogs. Jordan, our dog walker, leaves notes about both of my dogs, even though she technically is only responsible for the puppy - I love knowing they are in good hands when I am at work.
