Had a great experience at Werewolf Bar & Restaurant! Morgan, our server, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. The pancakes were especially good and sweet enough that we didn't even need syrup! One thing to keep in mind is that they add an extra 4.5% fee to the bill called the HOH (Heart of House) fee, which goes toward the upkeep of the establishment. They do say it's voluntary and can be removed, but realistically, who's going to ask to have it taken off? Personally, I'd rather see them raise their menu prices a little instead of adding a separate fee. That said, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!
It was just okay.. I wouldn't go out of my way to go They are extremely busy for brunch so definitely have a reservation, but the service and food were pretty slow I ordered the biscuits and gravy, fine but wouldn't get it again The constant yelling is also a lot , not the general noise of the restaurant , but the HEY EVERYONE WE WRE GOING TO YELL "blank" ON THE COUNT OF THREE!"
We came here late Sunday night after dropping family off at CBX. We ordered a couple of drinks, burger. Sliders, and potato balls. All were except and delicious. Shout to the grill man. Food was excellent, so for keep asking you for extras from the kitchen. It was that good. Just remember that it is hot this time of the year and get your AC working better. Will be back.
Stopped in today before heading out of San Diego. There was a short wait. There was also ample street parking. The staff was very friendly. The four of us loved the blueberry lemon pancakes. You could smell the lemon as soon as they were on the table and lots of blueberries! My daughter and I each ordered the blue plate. I gave my bacon to my son who seemed to enjoy it. The cheesy eggs with chives are perfection! The potatoes and biscuit are also really good. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The place is lively and slightly loud so if you're looking for a quiet place to brunch this isn't it. Overall we enjoyed our food and the aesthetic. We would definitely go back.
Everything about Werewolf is a vibe. The food. The brews and booze. The quintessential Gaslamp crowd. The attentive staff (shoutout to Mo/Morgan). The brunch menu on weekends. It's got it all - including karaoke at nights.
Well, first of all, this is a very cool spot and I kind of got caught in between brunch and lunch so I didn't eat as much as I normally would. But the one word that describes this place is service and Ruby. Every single person had a huge smile on their face and couldn't wait to help. You just don't find that very often, but I found it in the last 24 hours in the gas lamp it quite a few places. The menu here has something for everyone Plus great Beers and a really nice mimosa. I'll be back as soon as I can because I got a ticket for a free mimosa. Thank you, Ruby and Amber. I think also helped love them all.
Came here on a whim hoping for brunch but it was already like 5 mins before 3pm so had to stick with lunch. Nonetheless, our food and drinks was so good. Fiona helped us from start to finish and was just an absolute sweetheart to my mom and I. She asked for our names & how our day was. We ordered steak tacos & breakfast burrito & 2 alcoholic beverages. Steak tacos & burrito--my mom enjoyed her tacos and meat was cooked tender to her liking. shes not a fan of onions & enjoyed the dish very much since there wasnt any in the tacos. my burrito was perfectly made not extremely greasy either & yet full of flavor. potatoes crispy on the inside & they were able to give me a side of sour cream. Drinks- not sure how much alcohol may have been in mine or if any at ALL but regardless it tasted like a tropical vacation in a glass. the whipped cream was a perfect addition. mom got a tiramisu martini and that was SO good i almost wanted hers instead of mine! perfect for brunch if you want a strong coffee lol atmosphere- bar setting but still plenty of seats/tables & of course your bar area. great personalities all around id definitely come back here!
I selected Werewolf due to the yelp rating and number of reviews. It did not disappoint. Our server, Fiona, was very personable learning all customers names. The place was jumping, with a DJ and hip hop music. The food was fantastic, I had the pancake with eggs and subbed meat for avocado. My husband had steak scramble, which was seasoned well. I have to say the bathrooms were wallpapered with comics, a little dark but thought it was cool. Definitely recommend.
Had such a great experience at Werewolf! The food was so good! We had the breakfast burrito, chicken inna biscuit, steak scramble, and the cinnamon roll cakes, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The drinks were just as amazing. I had the Blossom Something and the Juicy K, and both were great recommendations from the hostess Jazzy who was also wonderful and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our waitress Fiona was amazing and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great food, great drinks, and great service all around. We'll definitely be back!
I've been here twice now, and both visits were before a Padres day game for brunch. Both times the food was absolutely phenomenal. My first visit I ordered the sausage and gravy, and the second time I went with the Cali burrito. They were completely different dishes, but both were fantastic and packed with flavor. The service is what really sets this place apart, though. On both visits our servers were attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead. I especially love that they actually ask for your name and then remember it throughout your meal. It's such a small touch, but it makes you feel genuinely welcome and says a lot about the quality of people they have working there. And I have to mention the tiramisu martini because I ordered it both times and it did not disappoint. It's the perfect brunch cocktail. This has quickly become one of my favorite pre Padres game spots, and I'll definitely keep coming back.
Went for the first time to this Karaoke bar right in the heart of Gaslamp in San Diego. We went on a Saturday night after a Padres game. The bar was very low my with such positive and fun vibes. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The Karaoke DJ host, Marlene, was amazing. She kept the bar lively and the customers engaged. Food was good too. Had a burger and beer, and both were delicious. Already making plans to go back.

We stopped in for breakfast before we head to the airport. The staff was so sweet and amazing. The restaurant was half fall when we first got there but completely full including bar seats by the time we left. There were so many choices and we both ended up with BISCUITS AND GRAVY * Scratch made sausage country gravy - two biscuits - cheesy chive scrambled eggs - breakfast potatoes. Huge. Delicious. Came in for Mother's Day yesterday. This place is a vibe! More so for drinking and hanging out than an actual sit down place. I joined via Yelp waitlist and it was a bit of a wait even though there were a bunch of open tables. They had a live dj and a few other tables were pretty loud and rowdy singing Nicki Minaj songs. Utensils and tables weren't the cleanest but service and food was prompt. Tried the pork belly Benedict which was amazing! It had this glaze that was just right not too sweet. The breakfast balls were just as amazing I loved the gravy on it since it was the right amount and had just enough flavor! My son ordered the cali burrito which I took a bite of and the meat was so tender. Husband ordered steak plate which had the same tender steak bites, cheesy chive eggs which were delicious, and potato bits. I got a free daisy flower and a momosa for the occasion. What a party. Came in here one evening during a huge event week with a bunch of out-of-towners. Wait wasn't too bad considering how packed and popular this spot is. Service was super friendly and efficient, the ambiance and volume definitely added to chaotic and free vibe of this place. I tried: Papa's Balls - definitely cheekier to say than potato croquettes. Served piping hot and they were delicious. I bet they're even better with a beer. Pretzel + Queso - hands down amazing queso. The pretzels were pillowy little salt bombs, doused in that cheese they were so good. I bet they're even better with a beer. Wonton Sliders - little sweet and messy burger sliders, with a delicious wonton crunch. Pay a dollar to make them sticky, which I highly recommend. I bet they're even better with a beer. This is a cute sports/karaoke bar that also serves food all day. I came for brunch and orders the pork belly benedict, brussel sprouts, and a grapefruit mimosa. The pork belly benedict had a sweet syrup that I wasn't a fan of but the combination of the potato patty and poached egg balanced it very well. It can be quite heavy. It came with three but I only managed to eat half. The brussel sprouts were nice and crispy. The seasoning was on point. I'd definitely order it again. The grapefruit mimosa was delicious and it was a generous pour for sure! However, the highlight was the service and vibes. Literally everyone was so sweet, even other customers! It must be how they have treated folks. A customer who had come to eat here for YEARS came up to me to make sure I was being treated well, which was quite funny! I found Werewolf while looking for a brunch spot to watch the game during a weekend trip to San Diego, and it ended up being a great choice. It's a quirky little place with a fun vibe, good food, and friendly staff. I sat at the bar around 11:30 AM on Saturday and was immediately greeted by the bartender, who was super friendly and gave me a quick rundown of the menu. I ended up ordering the chilaquiles with steak and an espresso martini. She let me know ahead of time that the chilaquiles weren't traditional, and I told her that was fine. Turns out, it might have been one of the best versions of chilaquiles I've ever had. They served it using full round tortillas, stacked with sauce, cheese, eggs, and steak. It almost reminded me of a breakfast lasagna in the best way possible. The flavor was amazing and the portion was generous: I could have easily eaten another plate. A friend ended up joining me and ordered the same thing just based on how good it looked. The espresso martini was also solid, a little on the sweeter and creamier side, which worked perfectly for brunch and paired well with the food. They had a DJ playing music, which added to the energy but wasn't too loud or overbearing. The whole place had a fun, easygoing vibe. Whether you're there to eat, hang, or watch a game, Werewolf is a great spot. I'd definitely go back. read more

Yes, yes, and yes!! This place is such a vibe. Friendly staff and cute inside. The set up allows you to interact with other people. We ordered the Werewolf Double Bloody Mary and Maria, Cali Breakfast Burrito and Triple Threat Burger. Everything was ah-mazing!! The Cali Breakfast Burrito had me dreaming about it. So flavorful with little to no fat on the steak. Not to mention, the steak was super tender. The Triple Threat Burger, oh-my-goodness. Patty perfectly seasoned and that pork belly was chefs kiss. This is my favorite place for a weekend breakfast in downtown San Diego. The fun staff and atmosphere (though a bit loud after a Friday night of fun) along with the delicious food and drink make this the best go to on a Saturday morning. You must try their Werewolf double bloody mary or bloody maria. The jalapeno infused tequila gives these morning treats a perfect jolt if spiciness. The pork belly benedict is my go to here and with its thick pieces of smoky yet sweet pork belly with the perfectly poached eggs and potato cakes, this is a delectable treat. read more

But other than that, the vibes were great! Great service, pretty quick overall. Ok this bar is fun drinks are good and the staff are awesome. Did drink on and off menu, requested dealers choice and was pleasantly surprised by my selections. If you are in the area and want a down to earth bar with great people and drinks come here. Had pork belly benedict and it was fantastic. I was sooooo excited for this place! I mean look at all the reviews! It's a hot spot for sure. I really wanted the Papas balls, since they are vegetarian friendly. The papas balls were just ok. We had to smother them in guacamole to give them more flavor. They needed more cheese sauce on top or whatever the sauce was. The papas balls were underwhelming. Chicken wings were alright. They had a bbq flavor. The flavor was pretty strong and overpowering. But they were edible. Maybe doused in ranch is the way to go? I don't know lol *shrugs Maybe you gotta know what to order here. With how popular this place is, I'm sure there are certain items that they are known for. And we just didn't know what to order. And went on what we were craving at the time. read more

My friends and I were visiting San Diego and in the mood to karaoke. I'm so glad Yelp led me to Werewolf as they have karaoke every night starting at 9pm! Every drink we had was delicious. I definitely recommend the Lite Brite cocktail if you like sweet and pretty drinks! The bartenders were all friendly and efficient too. I love that they have a self-serve water station. We didn't have any food, but it looked like they had a lot of tasty fried options. There's also a serve-yourself popcorn station. The person organizing the karaoke was also great (and a great singer!). You write your name and song on a piece of paper then give it to her. The night we went there was a $100 cash prize to the best singer of a country song. The bar was clean and decorated nicely. My only complaint is that there are only two bathroom stalls, so the line can get long, but there's nothing they can really do about that now lol. Overall, super fun bar! We ended up staying for about 3 hours. I would return and recommend! read more

Food: hands down best breakfast in San Diego-- especially for the cost. Split the steak scramble with my husband and still had leftovers. Excellent steak and eggs and corn relish. Handmade tortillas are superb. Service: Justin is awesome and remembered us and our order after two days of not seeing us. Super friendly and knowledgeable. When in SD one must try brunch at the Warewolf.... A Small but mighty menu offers a variety of options, breakfast balls, burritos, cakes, biscuits/gravy, eggs... there's something you will enjoy. We are pretty sure the pork belly Benedict is the best seller.. a unique twisted version of this classic ! Thick pork belly sits upon a fried potato cake, and under a poached egg. This isn't hollandaise you're getting maple cilantro glaze to add a sweet kick and compliment the pork. Three mounds of them are share worthy. Fiona, Morgan.. and all of the wonders here! Thank you for a fantastic breakfast for the first day of the new year! We joined the waitlist in the AM but it wasn't necessary. You come up, and you're immediately greeted by a hello! Seat yourself! We opted for the bar where you can view some TVs, and possibly catch a few music videos. From the bar, you'll see the kitchen working their magic, and front row seats to the bartenders busting their moves. My breakfast was spot on. I could have done without the potatoes, and even biscuit. The chicken and gravy was the star of the show. It seems like the hush puppies were a unique treat, so I would have liked that rather than the biscuit. My husband had the chilaquiles, and he enjoyed it. The pork belly was the best add on protein choice. Highly recommend. Overall, great experience and awesome service. I highly recommend coming here for a visit. read more

Tasty brunch, friendly service, and a live DJ giving you club vibes at 11AM. Werewolf tends to have some pretty long waits especially on the weekend would highly recommend hopping on via Yelp to get the ball rolling. The vibes of Werewolf are very fitting for Gaslamp. It feels like a night time shenanigans type of place during the day. It has a full bar on display, ambiance of a night club with gritty writing on the wall, and the day we went a live DJ spinning 00's R&B. It was great vibes going into it. Especially when a waiter dressed as Santa was handing out free shots to the customers. Service was great. We were seated at the bar and well attended to. Waiters/waitresses would drop by and check in on us and chat. Everyone just seemed to be trying to have a good time. The menu is nice and simple with great selection and not overwhelming. I went with the pork belly eggs Benedict because it sounded amazing and was not disappointed. Pork belly was nice and tender. Had a great caramelization. 10/10 brunch spot. This was definitely a place that Yelp led us to and I'm very appreciative of the recommendation. We were looking for a brunch spot before we flew out and this place was perfect! The service was fast and we had a good time despite it raining. I tried the breakfast balls because I wanted to try something different. I think that if I ate more bread I would've thoroughly enjoyed them. I will say the gravy is a nice touch. The country fried steak was HUGE. I couldn't finish it; however, it was quite tasty. I honestly believe we left right after the D.J. set up and right before the crowd arrived as people were piling in (in the rain)! I hate we couldn't stay there longer. Never been more excited to write a review. This place was exactly what I wanted. Local. Hidden gem. Every bight was better than the previous one. My husband ordered the pork belly and I the chilaquiles. I couldn't tell you whose was better. Eggs cooked to perfection. Pork belly cooked to perfection. Is it 18+ for karaoke hours?
They do have Karaoke on the weekends that are in the evening after 9pm with the Selling of alcohol that requires persons to be 21 or to be with their family.
Where is the easiest place to park?
Try to park as close as possible to the restaurant. Best parking will be with the closest paid parking lots and meter parking close to the restaurant.
Is this place kid friendly?
Yes, you can take a kid there, I would recommend breakfast or lunch though.

I'm not saying this place is not celiac friendly, but I am saying, "damn! Your eating our choices/experience is greatly limited!!!" That's crazy man. Good luck. I have no idea if this place is your peoples friendly.

Is this establishment dog friendly?
Last time we visited, we sat at the bar (inside the restaurant) and there was a dog with the party seated next to us. So i assume yes!
