Had a great experience at Werewolf Bar & Restaurant! Morgan, our server, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. The pancakes were especially good and sweet enough that we didn't even need syrup! One thing to keep in mind is that they add an extra 4.5% fee to the bill called the HOH (Heart of House) fee, which goes toward the upkeep of the establishment. They do say it's voluntary and can be removed, but realistically, who's going to ask to have it taken off? Personally, I'd rather see them raise their menu prices a little instead of adding a separate fee. That said, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!

It was just okay.. I wouldn't go out of my way to go They are extremely busy for brunch so definitely have a reservation, but the service and food were pretty slow I ordered the biscuits and gravy, fine but wouldn't get it again The constant yelling is also a lot , not the general noise of the restaurant , but the HEY EVERYONE WE WRE GOING TO YELL "blank" ON THE COUNT OF THREE!"

Stopped in today before heading out of San Diego. There was a short wait. There was also ample street parking. The staff was very friendly. The four of us loved the blueberry lemon pancakes. You could smell the lemon as soon as they were on the table and lots of blueberries! My daughter and I each ordered the blue plate. I gave my bacon to my son who seemed to enjoy it. The cheesy eggs with chives are perfection! The potatoes and biscuit are also really good. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The place is lively and slightly loud so if you're looking for a quiet place to brunch this isn't it. Overall we enjoyed our food and the aesthetic. We would definitely go back.

Everything about Werewolf is a vibe. The food. The brews and booze. The quintessential Gaslamp crowd. The attentive staff (shoutout to Mo/Morgan). The brunch menu on weekends. It's got it all - including karaoke at nights.

We came here late Sunday night after dropping family off at CBX. We ordered a couple of drinks, burger. Sliders, and potato balls. All were except and delicious. Shout to the grill man. Food was excellent, so for keep asking you for extras from the kitchen. It was that good. Just remember that it is hot this time of the year and get your AC working better. Will be back.

Cake and eggs brunch combo upgraded to gluten free Homer cakes with a mimosa

We had a great brunch here! I was looking for a place that offered gluten free brunch options and couldn't wait to try the pancakes here! I ordered the cake and eggs combo but upgraded to the doughnut cakes (Homer cakes) and also upgraded them to be gluten free. They came as just two pancakes that way with eggs and bacon but you can also order them as a four stack alone, but they were super sweet so two was the perfect amount for me - they were excellent and such a fun treat! My husband also got the breakfast burrito he enjoyed as well! Service was pretty quick, friendly staff, and the prices were pretty good, too.

Came here on a whim hoping for brunch but it was already like 5 mins before 3pm so had to stick with lunch. Nonetheless, our food and drinks was so good. Fiona helped us from start to finish and was just an absolute sweetheart to my mom and I. She asked for our names & how our day was. We ordered steak tacos & breakfast burrito & 2 alcoholic beverages. Steak tacos & burrito--my mom enjoyed her tacos and meat was cooked tender to her liking. shes not a fan of onions & enjoyed the dish very much since there wasnt any in the tacos. my burrito was perfectly made not extremely greasy either & yet full of flavor. potatoes crispy on the inside & they were able to give me a side of sour cream. Drinks- not sure how much alcohol may have been in mine or if any at ALL but regardless it tasted like a tropical vacation in a glass. the whipped cream was a perfect addition. mom got a tiramisu martini and that was SO good i almost wanted hers instead of mine! perfect for brunch if you want a strong coffee lol atmosphere- bar setting but still plenty of seats/tables & of course your bar area. great personalities all around id definitely come back here!

Wine Wednesday and very cool spot!!

Well, first of all, this is a very cool spot and I kind of got caught in between brunch and lunch so I didn't eat as much as I normally would. But the one word that describes this place is service and Ruby. Every single person had a huge smile on their face and couldn't wait to help. You just don't find that very often, but I found it in the last 24 hours in the gas lamp it quite a few places. The menu here has something for everyone Plus great Beers and a really nice mimosa. I'll be back as soon as I can because I got a ticket for a free mimosa. Thank you, Ruby and Amber. I think also helped love them all.

I selected Werewolf due to the yelp rating and number of reviews. It did not disappoint. Our server, Fiona, was very personable learning all customers names. The place was jumping, with a DJ and hip hop music. The food was fantastic, I had the pancake with eggs and subbed meat for avocado. My husband had steak scramble, which was seasoned well. I have to say the bathrooms were wallpapered with comics, a little dark but thought it was cool. Definitely recommend.

Had such a great experience at Werewolf! The food was so good! We had the breakfast burrito, chicken inna biscuit, steak scramble, and the cinnamon roll cakes, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The drinks were just as amazing. I had the Blossom Something and the Juicy K, and both were great recommendations from the hostess Jazzy who was also wonderful and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our waitress Fiona was amazing and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great food, great drinks, and great service all around. We'll definitely be back!

I've been here twice now, and both visits were before a Padres day game for brunch. Both times the food was absolutely phenomenal. My first visit I ordered the sausage and gravy, and the second time I went with the Cali burrito. They were completely different dishes, but both were fantastic and packed with flavor. The service is what really sets this place apart, though. On both visits our servers were attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead. I especially love that they actually ask for your name and then remember it throughout your meal. It's such a small touch, but it makes you feel genuinely welcome and says a lot about the quality of people they have working there. And I have to mention the tiramisu martini because I ordered it both times and it did not disappoint. It's the perfect brunch cocktail. This has quickly become one of my favorite pre Padres game spots, and I'll definitely keep coming back.

    Karaoke DJ host was amazing!
    Maria C.

Went for the first time to this Karaoke bar right in the heart of Gaslamp in San Diego. We went on a Saturday night after a Padres game. The bar was very low my with such positive and fun vibes. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The Karaoke DJ host, Marlene, was amazing. She kept the bar lively and the customers engaged. Food was good too. Had a burger and beer, and both were delicious. Already making plans to go back.

This place is awesome for brunch. Vibe is lit. Drinks are good. Food is good. And it doesn't break the bank. They have a dj during brunch and the music was good. Food was good. Those breakfast balls were EVERYTHING! The bourbon burger was good too! Taylor is a ROCKSTAR and definitely needs a raise and a promotion! He was the dj, the bartender, the waiter, the runner.... I mean he did it all.. and with a smile. This place is definitely the bomb brunch spot and I will definitely be back. The only reason I took a star is because they were understaffed so the food sat for a bit. Other than that, this place is it!,

    Ask the Community - Werewolf

Is it 18+ for karaoke hours?

They do have Karaoke on the weekends that are in the evening after 9pm with the Selling of alcohol that requires persons to be 21 or to be with their family.

Where is the easiest place to park?

Try to park as close as possible to the restaurant. Best parking will be with the closest paid parking lots and meter parking close to the restaurant.

    Do they have Take-Out?

Yes. I don't know which services deliver if using an app.

    Is this place kid friendly?

Yes, you can take a kid there, I would recommend breakfast or lunch though.

    Is kitchen open past 12am?

    Open from 8AM until 2AM

Do you broadcast the boxing fights on Saturdays?

Is there still karaoke? If so, which nights?

    Tuesday - Saturday from 9pm to 1am. https://thewerewolf.net/pages/karaoke

Are we able to make a reservation for two? I called and was directed to make reservations via yelp, but I only see a waitlist option.

Hi Kristen, we offer a waitlist, but we do not offer reservations.

Dogs ok? Just wondering if Werewolf is Fido-friendly.

I believe so! I have been here multiple times and seen dogs inside and if I am wrong, there is an outside eating space where pets are welcome.

    Outdoor eating- out door eating?

    Yes!

    Do they offer Bottomless mimosas?

    No you buy the bottle.

Hey! I don't see the waitlist on Yelp anymore, is there still a waitlist?

Absolutely. It's 90-120 mins right now on a Sunday around 11:30am. Yikes!

    Is karaoke back yet?

It is now! Went there a few times to sing this week!

Can you make a reservation for brunch?

They have a waitlist and take reservations over 10 ppl. Call and ask them. They were very helpful for our party of 8.

Can't find the happy hour menu?

I've only done brunch here but your best bet is to call and ask.

Did they get rid of the lottery tickets?

I didn't see or read anything on lottery tickets there.

    Is it celiac friendly?

I'm not saying this place is not celiac friendly, but I am saying, "damn! Your eating our choices/experience is greatly limited!!!" That's crazy man. Good luck. I have no idea if this place is your peoples friendly.

    Are there gluten free buns?

I'm sorry I don't know. I do plan on going there again though 🙂

    Is this establishment dog friendly?

Last time we visited, we sat at the bar (inside the restaurant) and there was a dog with the party seated next to us. So i assume yes!

    Does it have bottomless mimosas?

    I don't think so.

If fruity drinks are not your jam... what are you doing in a Tiki Bar!! No really, they have great options for on the rocks or straight as well as ordering your favorite cocktail or beer. Parking is a nightmare good luck finding parking within a mile of the restaurant. Pros: atmosphere, drinks, service Cons: food wasn't great for the price, restaurant was small and crowded, no parking Service: All of our servers were friendly and very accommodating. Gave us some knowledge on the menu and recommended cocktails based on our preference. I had spilled my drink and they were quick to make me another one. Food: I had intended to get the prime ribeye cap steak but they ran out for the night around 8pm. I shared the steak sampler which came with four different cuts of steak and 4 sauces. I ordered medium and it was cooked medium/medium rare which was fine with me, it also had a good sear, almost burnt though. Out of the four steaks, we only liked two based off flavor and tenderness. The other two were more tough and gamey. None of the sauces really stood out but the bordelaise and horseradish were good. For our sides we got fries, roasted broccoli, and the grilled wedge salad. Fries were average. The roasted broccoli had really good flavor, I expected the broccoli to be al dente but it was cooked to mush and drenched in sauce. The grilled wedge salad was decent, there was a slightly bitter taste to it. I know it says grilled wedge but the experience of biting into the salad and it being both hot and cold was not pleasant. Cocktails: I tried the Honey Ryder and New Wave. These were recommended as the more fruity/sweet cocktails. You can definitely taste the alcohol but it's only 2oz so it's not too strong. Ambience: 10/10 I got seated downstairs by the bar. Only thing about downstairs is that it's too dark to take photos unless you use flash. Overall, I agree with the other reviews saying to go just for drinks and appetizers. I would go again just to sit upstairs and get drinks and take pictures. We left unsatisfied and ended up getting in-n-out after.

I love their menu design. It gives a lot of attention to each drink with a clear description breakdown along with the level of alcohol meter. A lot of the drinks are STRONG and their presentations are magnificent.

The front of the…read morebuilding is very unassuming, but once you enter, you are transported to a spaceship that has crashed on an alien planet. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made on OpenTable. The main bar area is just inside the entrance, and has a "inside the spaceship" vibe. The décor is great with bulkheads, overhead ducts and grates, geometric panels and lights, devices and cabling, etc. The back of the bar features a cool color changing and bubbling reactor. When I was booking our reservation, I was on the fence between booking the bar or dining room. While the bar area does look very cool, I'm happy I went with the dining room. The vibe in this area is you're half in the crashed spaceship, but also outside at nighttime on a tropical planet. The back wall has similar décor to the bar area, but there are rock cave walls, vegetation, and stars overhead. Shooting stars periodically shoot across the sky. There are subtle sound effects playing in the background that add to the environment. There is also some tiki influence with colorful tiki lights being replaced by illuminated aliens egg pods. There is also music playing in the background that they custom curated and is kind of a mix of sci-fi and tiki that totally goes with the environment. I started out with the Self-Destruct Sequence (black pot still Jamaican rum, spiced West Indies rum, aged Caribbean rum, grapefruit, lime, cinnamon, cardamom, Angostura bitters, absinthe, $17). This cocktail was excellent, and is probably one of my new favorites. It was perfectly balanced and complex. Every single flavor was there if you looked for it. She started out with the Away Mission (aged Caribbean rum, gold pot still Jamaican rum, crème de banana, kumquat, papaya, pineapple, lime, opal basil, mint, $16). This was another good balanced cocktail, but with a sweeter flavor profile. I was on the fence for my second drink, and ended up going with the Mindkiller (navy strength West Indies rum, white overproof Jamaican rum, Amaro Meletti, coconut cream, pineapple, tangerine, orange, lime, Tang cordial, $19). I asked our server before ordering it and she confirmed it was definitely a sweeter drink. After seeing this drink on many of the other tables, I had to try it. It is definitely sweet and boozy. The pineapple, coconut, and citrus definitely stand out and the Tang cordial on top kicks the orange into overdrive. I probably wouldn't order it again, but don't regret trying it. Plus, I got that cool swizzle stick to add to my collection. For her second, she had the Revival Mission mocktail (papaya, kumquat, mint, basil, pineapple, lime, soda, $13). We goofed and didn't realize this was the mocktail version of the Away Mission. It had a similar flavor profile but was sweeter. In hindsight, we should have paid closer attention and ordered one of the other mocktails. Be sure to check out the restrooms. They are lit with all red pattern on the walls with mirror on the ceiling, and a mission control type sound track playing in the background. The hallway by the bathrooms is also fully themed, with décor and bulkhead doors. We were initially greeted and served by Anthony, and another server who's name I didn't catch took over for him halfway through. Service was very friendly, and helpful as we asked several questions about the menu. All of our drinks came out in a timely manner, and we were not rushed to leave. We managed to catch the little show that occurs when certain drinks are ordered. The lights dim, special alarm sounds play, and smoke comes out of the spaceships overhead ducts. In addition to picking up some cool swizzle sticks, I also bought their purple cosmic skull mug and a pair of cocktail glasses as souvenirs from our visit. We will definitely return the next time we are down in San Diego.

Such a fun speakeasy and the perfect way to end our date night!…read more Bar Kamon is hidden inside Asa Bakery in East Village. The space is inspired by 1920s Taisho-era Japan, so the whole concept carries into the decor, Japanese ingredients and cocktails. Their menu gets pretty creative with Japanese whisky, shochu, sake, highballs, clarified cocktails and small bites. After bakery hours, finding the entrance wasn't difficult. Just enter through Asa Bakery and you'll see where to go. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. We were able to grab one the night before for a Friday without any trouble. We had already eaten dinner, so we came for drinks with a small appetizer to share. We ordered the Karaage, Tokyo Banana and Yame Matcha. Service was incredible throughout the night. It took a little bit to get seated since nobody was standing at the host area when we walked in. Someone eventually spotted us through the curtain then quickly came over to help. From there, everyone was attentive. The Karaage came out first. I wish the outside was just a little crispier, but it was still really good. The slaw was actually my favorite part because the acidity paired perfectly with fried chicken, especially while sipping on cocktails. The Yame Matcha was so decadent. It had this beautiful matcha cloud on top with a deeper roasted flavor underneath, almost smokey, that lingered after each sip. Definitely not your typical sweet matcha cocktail. The Tokyo Banana was my favorite. The presentation alone was gorgeous. You get that banana flavor right away, but it still tastes like a proper cocktail rather than a banana dessert. It was definitely strong, so this was one I slowly sipped throughout the night. The hojicha mixed with the banana worked SO well.

You must ask at the Bakery counter to be let in. HINT: look for the handicap button on the wall. Just push it and the door opens. You will be met by staff immediately inside and seated. Its a small interior with not so intimate seating. The lighting is on the brighter side. Service is superior!! The food is great and the drinks were mostly hit and some misses. But they will remake you a new drink if you let them know. Surprisingly the food was outstanding. The plates are large! We had Chicken Karaage which was cooked perfectly and the sticky sauce was delicious. The Nagoya Karaage Nagoya Style Fried Chicken, Sesame Seeds, White Pepper, Cabbage. The glaze was sweet and delicious! OG Haccho Chicken Sliders were more like full size sandwiches - Miso Glazed Crispy Chicken, Sumono Pickles, Sesame Coleslaw, w Yuzu Togarashi Mayo, on a soft Brioche Bun. The Ronin Fries were so good. All the flavors went well together. Shogoyaki Pork Belly, Mozzarella Cheese, Bang Bang Sauce, Green Onion, and Furikake Seasoning. The Umi No Maboroshi Oysters were a disappointment. Only 2 oysters at this price point is pricey! It was weird- the Edible Tuile Shell, Caviar, Yuzu Caviar, Sancho Oil, Wakame, Micro Greens on top were just too much. The flavors did not show while eating. Too many flavors made the oyster unnoticeable! Next the Drinks!! The White Lover!!! Hands down the best drink we tried. All three of us agreed!!! Its topped w a Sherbet- ish frozen Yuzu ball. Eat it or add it to your drink to change the flavor a bit. Either way the best drink we had. The Tokyo Banana was next best!!! The Yama Matcha was good but lacked matcha flavor. Was a good drink but to me was not a matcha drink. The Sesame Old Fashioned had a slight sesame flavor. However I'd like more sesame myself. But a nice twist on an iconic drink. Overall our experience was 5 stars. Our server was great and she is the one who recommended White Lover. Sorry cant remember her name. But had sandy blonde hair and was on the taller side. She actually jumped behind the bar to make a custom drink for all of us! The shooters were outstanding!! Highly recommend this speakeasy for the Asian inspired drink and food!!

This one is long overdue--not that they need my review, because by now everyone already knows how amazing this place is. What keeps me coming back is the combination of great music, an energetic vibe, outstanding service, and some of the most creative cocktails you'll find anywhere. Tonight was girls' night out, so we decided to order the prettier, and sweeter cocktails. But don't let the sweet flavors fool you--they are definitely generous with the alcohol. These drinks may taste dangerously easy to sip, but they pack a punch! I don't even remember the names of the cocktails we ordered, but honestly, that doesn't matter because the menu changes so often. And that's one of the things I love most about Music Bar. Every visit brings something new, fresh, and exciting to try. Both of my drinks were absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. I honestly don't know how the bartenders come up with these combinations, but kudos to the team for constantly pushing their creativity while still making every cocktail incredibly well balanced. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, Music Bar never disappoints. I'll definitely keep coming back to see what new creations they come up with next. Cheers to one of my favorite cocktail spots in San Diego!

And where is Soda and Swine's Yelp page? I know I did a review, but now the page appears gone completely in search? Nah, it's just hidden, presumably to accommodate Fortunate Sons, which opened about a year ago after re-construction of both establishments. I'm too lazy to see if still owned by Consortium Group. I did search my reviews and found my updated Soda & Swine review dated 8 & 10 years ago. O_o !! There really aren't many spots doing this and it makes the experience feel fresh and special. The drinks are where it gets more personal. The menu leans heavily herbal and that wasn't quite my style. I had the 13 Assassins and found the herbal notes too forward for my taste. I swapped with my friend for the Kasato Maru, a gin based drink, and that one was actually really good. Worth noting I'm not normally a gin drinker so that says something. If herbal forward cocktails are in your wheelhouse you'll probably love every drink on the menu. If not, the experience is still worth the reservation just for the space alone.
