Took advantage of the bottomless mimosa deal for comic con and it was so good! Our server, Cielo was amazing. The steak and eggs were cooked beautifully

Upon entering this restaurant, you are surrounded by red brick walls and lots of warm lighting signs and lamps. It truly does look more like a garage man-cave. I ordered the following below: *Avocado/Bacon Burger: 3.5/5 - Its a solid burger. Generous portion sizes with the bacon and avocado, you can really taste the flavor in all the supporting condiments, however, the meat patty did seem bland. *Truffle Mac n Cheese: 2/5 - I usually love and crave mac n cheese especially with a truffle topping. This was not it. There was rarely or any kind of cheese taste, the macaroni was okay. I was a bit disappointed as this looked appealing but was mediocre. *Truffle Fries: 4/5 - Honestly pretty good. These were crispy good sized season fries. Definitely the highlight of my meal. *Buffalo Chicken Wings: 4/5 - Solid chicken wings, tasted very fresh, buffalo sauce was tasty. Spicy yet tangy. It's a solid spot if you have a group of friends that are picky eaters, they have a variety of many foods there. They do have a special called crazy bob's burger during happy hour where the whole meal is $6. Honestly such a steal of the price if you're on a budget. The restaurant was very accommodating with our group size of 9 individuals. The service was exceptional.

Moved to San Diego and immediately was on the hunt for tasty food...the garage kitchen is juss around the corner from my place...I can actually see it from my balcony...I've strolled past here a few times until I seen a few people with these amazing plates eating at the outside area...they had mimosas and all...so I glanced at the menu and walked on in...sat at the bar, greeted with a smile and welcome in from Mi Mi...ordered a ginger beer and the steak salad....and it was the bomb 4realz...this place and everyone is so so chill. I like it here and glad it's juss a short stroll from the crib...lots of indoor & outdoor seating...plenty of t.v.'s to watch the game...chill decor...Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu This also is this the Minnesota Vikings Bar in the gaslamp.

incredible food!! the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely to-die-for. my partner also enjoyed their fish and chips. we had wonderfully kind servers who were accommodating and consistently checking in. Will be sure to come back again to try more options!

Home to the Minnesota Vikings fan during football season. I'm surprised I haven't ate here at this restaurant. My Bestie and I went here before our comedy show and we were not disappointed. There was no wait when we went , I was able to see the ambience of the restaurant. It is so cute when it's stressed up for the Minnesota Viking fans All we ordered was Parmesan truffle fries, and pork belly fried rice and even though it was just a little appetizer we had before our show it was so delicious. We also had some of the cocktails. My favorite is the " young, dumb and broke." That Drink, it is so tasty. This bar is also connected to the shout house, so definitely this is worth coming back again!

How can you beat a six dollar burger and fries for lunch? Not only is it a good deal, but it's also a great burger. I was pretty surprised on how big the burger was too, coming with two patties 8/10. The place is also a fun and quaint bar with cabin or lodge like vibes 7.5/10. Service was great, seems like they work in teams, so someone was always asking if we needed anything 9/10.

My friends and I came for the lunch special on a Friday: $6 for burgers and fries! Servers were helpful enough, though they didn't seem to pay much attention to any of the people there for lunch other than to take the initial order, which was fine. The burger and fries were fantastic for $6, would definitely come again. It came out pretty quickly so we made good time on our lunch hour. The restaurant itself was clean and had good bar vibes.

Stumbled upon this place in Downtown SD for brunch, we were seated right when they opened and they took care of us right away. It's such a cute restaurant, the door is literally a garage so there is an indoor and an outdoor. It has some western vibe to it, they even have an upstairs which I assume they open later in the day. They play some good music too, it was nice to just hang out with some breakfast and dranks while watching the football game. My husband enjoyed it! I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious, it was very filling and my husband ordered an omelette. We both enjoyed our food and our drinks, we stayed there for awhile while waiting for our massage appointment. Servers were attentive as well, even though it started to get busy. Highly recommend this place for brunch in downtown SD, hope you enjoy your time as much as we did!

Wow, pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and expected typical bar food, but shocked how good it was. The menu is small which makes sense if everything is good. We ordered the tacos sampler and ahi nachos. The tacos were really good and flavorful that we ordered a second serving. The ahi nachos with the edamame paste was also great. Others in our party ordered burgers, steak salad, and wings which all looked very good. As for service, good service overall. Drinks were reasonable good and priced.

Girls weekend in SD and we chose the Garage for our Saturday get up and go. Such a fun place! Wait staff was nice, attentive, and welcoming. If you love Bloody Mary's...just get the 32oz. It was perfect! Only thing missing from the accoutrements, was bacon and or pickles. All of our breakfast choices were DELISH! The atmosphere was fun, and they play fun, dance in your seat music. Don't forget your photo opp on your way out.

We stopped at Garage Kitchen + Bar for our Wednesday pre-Padres game lunch. We'd heard about the "Crazy Bob's Burger" deal. A burger and fries for six bucks! Served only twice per day between 11:00AM-noon and 3:00PM-4:00PM. It is a screaming deal! A juicy burger topped with white cheddar cheese, LTO, pickles and Thousand Island dressing all in a fantastic brioche. A very generous helping of hot out of the fryer fries, perfectly cooked and salted. Even a pickle spear on the side! Deb was our bartender, and she was outstanding! Super friendly, super cute and attentive. Four of us started at the bar, but decided a 4-top would be better. Deb happily helped us move to the table. We would absolutely return.

I love coming here! It is a hidden gem for their happy hour!!!! We get their house burger for $6 and it is a full size burger with fries! Their 32oz beers are also half off during their happy hour! Love the service and vibe here before game days!

$6 burger special is too good to be true

Having a great happy hour/ burger special hour here on a Saturday! Specials on a Saturday are rare, so we came to check this one out and they did not disappoint. Leo took great care of us, we didn't have to wait for a single thing. Food was generous and delicious, came out fresh, fast and hot. Great drinks. Seemed like good teamwork amongst the staff, everyone seemed to be helping each other. The $6 burger is a steal, it is delicious and you almost feel guilty that you only pay 6 bucks. Good vibes, they had the game we wanted to watch on TV right in front of us, and we felt like everyone cared about the customers here. Thumbs up to Garage!

Ask the Community - GARAGE Kitchen + Bar

What days & times are happy hour?

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

Yes, a simple search of the menu reveals, "Bottomless Mimosas are served during brunch 9am-3pm 7 days a week."

Can i make a reservation for brunch?

I suggest calling and asking as they are not on "opentable."

Can I make a reservation or is it only walk in?

Either or. I know through the yelp app you can make a resy, or just walk in and grab a seat at the bar. Friendly staff all around.

Are the bottomless mimosas $15 per person? Are they offered during the week as well?

Bottomless Mimosas are served during brunch 9am-3pm 7 days a week

    Will Garage ever open again?

    Yes

How late does the kitchen stay open? Saturday specifically?

The kitchen stays open until 9 during the week, and midnight in Friday's and Saturdays.

    Are dogs welcome?

Yes, there is a semi enclosed patio where dogs are welcome. There were two dogs dining there during my last visit.

Is the bar walk up or do I need to be waitlisted beforehand? I would like to watch a football game at the bar on Sunday (brunch) with one other person. Thanks!

Bar seating is available on a walk-in basis!

Do they have Gluten Free options?

    Yes they do.

Does this place offer bottomless mimosas?

No, they don't. They do a $10 champagne bottle with orange juice though.

    Is there a tv?

There are a bunch of TVs. It's a sports bar so they'll have all the games playing.

Is this a great place to go to with a bachelorette group?

I wouldn't recommend it. You most likely will get bad service.

    Bottomless mimosas at this spot?

    No sir. Not bottomless.

Do you offer the cereal shot on Thursday late night?

Cereal Shots can be ordered anytime and any day!

I am coming with 12 friends on Sunday for brunch. Am I able to make a reservation for that?

Yes you can make a reservation

    Whats the best dish here?

Our Ahi Nachos are our most popular item!

Do we need a reservation or is walk-in welcomed?

    You don't need a reservation

    What time is happy hour?

    4 pm

What was that burst of flavor in the Mac & Cheese?! I swear it was more than just lobster?

Not sure but their chicken sandwich is the best ever.

Great recommendations, super genuine and fun, had the best energy and was CONSTANTLY checking in on us; however, a couple of the other workers could have been a little bit more open with communication. We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. If we were told that from the beginning, we would have made sure to follow the order of the place and order from the correct server. A few of us truly felt bad, but now we know when we go in next time what to expect. Barleymash is always a great time, so we always want to make sure we are doing it right! When I entered the restaurant around 7:00 PM, I was stopped and questioned extensively by security regarding my service animal. Rather than being asked the limited ADA-compliant questions permitted by law, the interaction became prolonged and uncomfortable while staff repeatedly attempted to determine whether my dog was a "real" service animal or simply an emotional support animal. I remained waiting at the entrance while this was repeatedly discussed back and forth. What made the situation especially humiliating was that another patron openly laughed at me during the interaction while walking outside for a cigarette. I later realized this same patron had her own dog inside the establishment in a stroller the entire time. Staff members appeared very familiar and comfortable with her, and multiple employees, including my waitress- referred to her as a "regular." Although her dog was eventually moved to the patio area, the contrast in how the situations were handled made me feel singled out, embarrassed, and unfairly scrutinized. I later spoke with management in hopes of resolving the matter respectfully. During that conversation, I was surprised and concerned to hear that neither management nor staff were familiar with psychiatric service animals or their protections under the ADA. Psychiatric service animals are legally recognized service animals when trained to perform disability-related tasks, and this lack of awareness was deeply concerning, especially in a city like San Diego with a large disabled and veteran community. I fully understand that businesses are allowed to ask limited ADA-compliant questions regarding service animals, and I also understand that many establishments have dealt with individuals falsely claiming pets as service animals. However, there is a significant difference between appropriately verifying a service animal and making a disabled customer feel publicly interrogated and humiliated. The overall handling of this interaction lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and basic understanding of ADA service animal protections. No customer should feel mocked, scrutinized, or publicly embarrassed simply for entering a restaurant with a legitimate service animal. I sincerely hope this situation can serve as an opportunity for additional ADA education and proper service animal training for staff moving forward so that other disabled guests do not experience similar treatment. I would appreciate being informed of any steps the restaurant intends to take regarding ADA compliance and staff training before I determine how I would like to proceed further. Thank you for your time and attention.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an uplifting open-air environment, truly a breath of fresh air that felt like stepping onto the observation deck of the USS Enterprise. The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness!
